Edit - deal is back though console will be available post launch. Appears that EB Games are releasing stock every now and then. Note - next batch has a release date of "TBC 2021".

Update: Playstation 5 (with Disk) is now sold out. Digital only edition is still available for pre orders but available post launch.

EB games have just announced this deal on Twitter

Digital edition is $349 when you trade in a PS4 Slim ($599.95 without).

Pre-orders are now open. $200 pre-order deposit. One per person. Console will be available November 12.

      Hey, do you have any info on Xbox trade-in values? I've got a PS5 locked in and definitely trading my PS4 Pro in, but considering taking my Xbox in (OG 500GB one w/ Kinect) too as I don't play it at all anymore.

      Curious as to whether there's much value in trading it in, or if I'm best to just repurpose it as a Blu-ray player or something.

    Does anyone know if you need the original USB Charge and HDMI cable for trade in?

    PlayStation 4 500GB and 1TB, PlayStation 4 Slim 500GB and 1TB, and PlayStation 4 Pro 1TB.
    To trade a complete console, it also needs to include:

    From EB Games Website:

    1 x PS4 Dualshock Controller
    1 x USB charge cable
    1 x HDMI cable
    1 x Power cable

      It's that supplies will be limited due to production issues. They have 50% defection rate on chips apparently. So they're having a hard time actually making units. Could also be the same deal as the Switch shortages with months of no stock.

      I'm going to trade my Pro in for it but when I pre-ordered it just took the $200 deposit and gave no other options, nothing about stating you'll be trading in for it.

        Called head office and they confirmed this. Spoke to my local EB and they said when I get the consoles, head down with the receipts and ps4 pros and they'll honour the $300 trade in back on to my credit card.

    Not sure I want to part with my Pro. Might wait for the sales. Still not too sure how the backwards compatibility will work and have too many games to throw away a perfectly good PS4.

      Heh, it's specifically because of the Backward Compatibility that I am happy to ditch the pro, and why I actually still have my PS3 for the Psx/ps2 store bought stuff.

      I figure if they are confident enough to bundle about 18 of their top rated and most popular games in that PsPlus for Ps5 promotion then the backward compatibility must work fine.. otherwise yeah I suppose that will be a shitshow :P
