  • Dead pixel RMA is hit and miss. The policy doesn’t cover fewer than 6 dead subpixels. Some people got theirs replaced for fewer than 6 no problem. I, however, was denied replacement for 2 dead subpixels right in the middle of the screen. Just something to keep in mind. Oh, and the contrast sucks. Other than that it’s good for the price.

  • will there be a better deal for black friday ;)

  • +1

How does one get a Dell advantage coupon?? Regardless I’m pulling the pin this time. Cheers Limaa

    • They are sent with previous purchases sometimes. Post in the give away request thread. Last time quite a few were offering their unused ones on my previous deal.

If anyone has a Dell Advantage coupon to share please share it in give away thread linked in OP.

      • Are they sent via email, invoice, or somewhere else ?

        • +1

          Email.

      • Cheers mate!!

  • Is this mountable with a F80 or do I need to use a H80?

    • Both my h80 and f80 arrived today but haven't set them up. I have heard both work for the dgf.

      • I have one monitor mounted above the others so had to swap out my F80 for a H80. Hence I have an F80 lying around but I heard somewhere that it doesnt work for recessed vesa mounts, only the H80 does. Would appreciate if you could update on this.

        • Will do when I set them up, I'm just super busy haha. People discussed it heavily in prime mount sale thread. I'm sure you'll find the answer in comments. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/572135

          • @LiMaaa: Preliminary feedback from reading that page, and from when I bought my H80 is that it wont fit without trimming some of the mount. But it would only be off by a few mm…

            • +1

@ATangk: I read 2 people using f80 on dgf with no modification. I'll see if i can quick test tonight.

              • @LiMaaa: I must not be reading hard enough. I used the search for dfg instead of dgf, hence couldnt find results. Silly me. Seems promising! That said, I feel like the H80 actually feels more solid as an arm, even though its held up vertically by friction (you'll see what I mean later)

                • @ATangk: I got the H180 and it fits this monitor perfectly. Can't comment about the F80 though

                  • @pg88: have you stacked 2 x 27" on the h180 before? does it work well?

        • +1

I just mounted the dgf to an F80 with no modification. You can't use the 4 mounting screws that come with the F80, just have to reuse the ones already on the back of the monitor.

      • +1

Once you set them up, let us know what you think between the two - I think you're one of the first I've seen mention have both H80 and F80!

(Mine H80 still hasn't shipped yet!)

        • +1

Yeh I wanted to test the difference, so I'll respond to this comment when I do.

    • +1

I mounted mine 30 mins ago to the F80 and it just fits.Yes the dell monitor is recessed but if you screw in the top two screw to the monitor with a decent gap enough to slide the monitor onto the mount, then it should fit. Then you do up the bottom two screws. You may need to increase the gap in the top two screws to make the bottom part of the mount fit. But it should fit.

      • +1

Or you could ghetto it and install the mount whilst the monitor is already attached ;)

    • +1

I recieved and setup both S2721DGF and F80 and it fits fine.

  • Any deals on the normal 27" QHD models rather than the gaming one? Really need one or two for my designers. Thanks.

  • Will this play nice with shopback/cash rewards?

    • +1

Probably not, but you can try.

  • +1

These are a sweet monitor, bought one last time & very happy with it. Still a great price. Recommended.

  • How does this compare to Xiaomi 34?

    • Someone already responded on the upper threads. Check it out.

  • +1

I have been using mine for a few weeks now and can say it is definitely worth it for gaming. The motion clarity is great. At times, i feel it is a 'little washed out' in game when compared to my previous Innolux IPS. Don't recommend it for video/movies playback if you need good contrast ratio (especially if your games has a lot of dark environment - the immersion is not there). For this reason, I am probably not going to run a similar second screen in my future setup. Probably a good matching refresh rate, resolution and diagonal size on either high quality IPS or VA (ones with minimal/no smearing) for main desktop environment use.

Dell, you need to hire this man! Love you Limaaa, you're great with the community.

      <3

  • Warning. On some setup it has intermittent blank screen. It is very annoying and most likely firmware/driver issue.

  • Would this be good for xbox gaming? Good enough for the new xbox/ps5?

    • Xbox One S,X,sS|X - yes as you get 2K/120hz support.
      PS5 - not sure
PS4 - not really, as there is no 2K support… and the full HD/1080p support is limited to 60fps I think. This monitor, on the firmware side, some people reported a slightly annoying greyish line at the second last row of pixels when running in 60Hz/fps. The problem could either completely goes away or becomes far less visible at 120Hz or higher.

If you have really old intel based PCs with integrated graphics, it may not support 2K/120Hz+. Newer intel integrated graphics do.

  • Hi how do I use zippay at Dell?

At zippay it’s saying it has an option but there isn’t. I contacted zippay because of last deal and they weren’t any help.

    Anyone used it?

  • +16

When Dell politely informs me "placeholder" has been already attempted over 100 times.

For those who aren't just being curious, that isn't the coupon. :3

  • +1

I got a $30 Dell code from the purchase of this monitor from the last deal. First to PM me gets it.

    • +1

So many already asking in voucher thread, but good on you regardless.

      • +1

Just signed up to ask where is this voucher thread you speak of? Btw, I have been tracking this monitor for awhile, so thanks for bringing the great deals!
If anyone has a spare Voucher, would really appreciate it :) <3

edit: nvm i found it and posted, thanks anyways :)

    • Can I have it mate? Cheers

      • +2

Check your PM, I sent it.

    • oops too late~

    • Can I have it please. Thi is the 3rd time for me trying to get this monitor 😢

      • Sorry mate, already gone. Blame user R.R.P for being so quick

        • Can you tell me how did you got the code please, and where did you find it exactly?

      • Same boat as you, every time I've seen this deal I missed it. Sorry bud. Thanks again max-pc1010.

  • Hey LiMaaa, Do you know if the cables that are shipped with these monitors are capable of 4k bandwidth? I assume so but I can't see any documentation which states so.

    • Be specific, 4K 60Hz, 4K 60Hz with HDR or 4K 120Hz+? Or, just the el cheap 4K 30Hz capable cable?

    • +1

No idea sorry. Maybe one of the reviews mention it.

  • Still waiting for this monitor from the last deal which was 3 or 4 weeks ago

    • Last deal was a week ago, which deal did you order it on?

      • The one from the Sep 25 deal

    • I received my purchase yesterday from the Dell deal last week Monday. Once it's shipped it came in a day.

      • My order from Sep 25 is still pending

  • +2

LiMaaa, this deal goes live 7pm Sydney time yeah? Just making sure.

    • Oh…. I didn't even realise.

    • 6pm Aest so 7pm for Melbourne and other cities matching time zone.

      • +1

You'll have to change the time on Ozb too because it seems to work on AEDT

        • Yeh it said aest or aedt, but updated it.

  • Thanks Limaaa, got it from the last deal. You’re a champ!

Is there a discussion thread about best configuration for this monitor to be used in everyday desktop tasks and gaming? The colors when placed next to my ultrasharp model seems bit weird.

    • You can watch Tim's youTube video as he mentioned a settings you could use to improve the colour accuracy. You could also try the ICC profile in another youTube video or rtings review. However, bear in mind those profiles are tuned for their monitors and may not work as well for you.

      • Cheers, I’ll try them 🙂

    • +1

There's some discussion on calibration in the last pages of the previous deals, but in general I find the RTINGS settings (look for the ICC profile and copy the corresponding RGB values) look good to my eyes.

Out of the box I had slightly yellow whites (which has cleared up) and oversaturation, especially reds. I also turned off HDR. YMMV.

      • Thanks. I think its the smart hdr which is showing some weird colors. It was one of the selling points for me though as I plan to use it with ps4 and future consoles + pc.

  • Are the extra warranties worth it?

  • Already have mine but good luck to everyone!

  • Where is the code?

    • 6pm AEST

      Another hour

  • +1

It’s 6pm and code not working. Did it sell out already?

    /s

    • +1

6pm AEST. 7pm for AEDT cities. An hour.

      • I know that. Notice the /s at the end lol.

        • +1

          Evidently not hehe

  • no speakers?

  • What's the code?

    • +1

      6pm AEST

      Another hour

      • Thanks, I was so frantically refreshing the page thinking what was wrong!

  • -1

    What are the coupon codes?

    • +1

      Wait and see.

  • +1

Ahh AEST not AEDT, in an hour time

    • thanks, thought I was going mad there.

  • Maybe it's time to finally upgrade… Gotta decide whether to go ultrawide or not.

    • If you're a casual gamer then UW. Third party games like Witcher look great.

If you're more of a shooter/competitive person then this. Since converting from a 34" to a 27" I've noticeably improved in FPS games.
Your peripheral vision can only do so much.

      • Mostly strategy games. I think I'm sticking with 16:9 because the monitors that have the features I want in ultrawide are way out of my budget.

Also I can't go without a second monitor for watching videos and for chat windows so I don't think UW+something else would fit side by side on my desk.

  • 27" vs 34" ultra wide, which one do you guys suggest? Has anybody used both form factor and found one better than the other for gaming and general use?

    • +2

38" UW is the sweet spot for getting that extra vertical real estate. Bigger is always better IMO so I would vote for the 34" without question.

      • +1

I totally agree, unfortunately they cost a bomb. Sometimes I wonder if going 4k 40+ would give more real estate but UW is always better for games over 16:9 i feel.

        • Yeah I'm hanging out for a cheaper deal on the 38" Dell UW so I'm slumming it with my 27" until then :-)

          • @KangaDrew: $1800 and no freesync, oof.

            • @Diji: $1699 at the moment (Scorptec) and I don't need freesync ;-)

              • @KangaDrew: High roller, hey? Freesync would be a must for me for when I inevitably play games at 25 FPS. :P

                • @Diji: lol Not sure I'd go that far, but yes, I've been saving for it for awhile and itching to pull the trigger. It's 100% used for work/productivity and never any games so all the other gaming features on monitors aren't really a factor for me.

    • +2

I have both a 27" 1440p and a 34" UW 1440p monitor and I recommend a 34" 1440p UW if you have room for it on your desk! For general use, 34" UW is noticeably nicer as you have more screen real estate. I would recommend using a program like PowerToys to partition your screen into multiple snapping windows. For gaming, there are only a few games that don't support UW resolution like Valorant. The black border for games that don't support the 21:9 aspect ratio is not really that bad for me; it's something you get used to quickly. For story driven games, the 21:9 aspect ratio of the 34" is really nice and immersive. Also watching movies on a 21:9 ratio is a bliss!

      • Gr8 M8, thanks!

  • have a 32" main monitor, bought this one, it was a great monitor, but way too small for me so ended up returning it. if you have a 32" and are downsizing, would not recommend.

    • I went from a 32 MSI VA curved panel to this panel with another 27 on the side.
Love this set up way better for gaming and multitasking for work
      Each to their own

      • +1

yeh fair enough, i ended up returning and buying the S3220DGF and will use it as my main monitor, with my current 32 on the side.

  • +2

I keep missing out on this, fingers crossed this time.
