Hardware unboxed recommends this over the LG 27gl850 (which has the same panel and is rarely below $700). Review only uploaded last night.
Easy buy if you have the cash.

P.s. these aussies are probably the best reviewers in youtube world for monitors, would suggest checking them out and throwing them a sub!

    • +4

Agreed Tim is the best monitor reviewer on YouTube. I've owned this monitor for a few weeks now and his review is spot on

      • +4

Yeah. He's right about the pros and the cons. Super responsive and great picture but the contrast sucks and I had to calibrate mine to make it look right.

        • +1

How can you tell if your contrast is correct? I am using mine out of the box mode.

I do have it on FPS mode.

    • I had the dell but it lost power after a week. After a lengthy debate with dell I ended up returning it and purchasing the LG, which I’m stoked with. The ips glow from the dell was noticeable and even with the brightness toned down it was like two mac truck headlights. I prefer the LG in real world but hey, the dell is still a cracking price.

      • +12

The Dell and LG use exactly the same panels, it's pure luck whether you get bad IPS glow

    • +2

yep, dont let the reviews on the website fool you probably the best monitor you can buy in this class (QHD/165hz/IPS) right now and huge shoutout to Tim if he reads this thread best monitor reviewer

    • I found this https://youtu.be/wiN7u2JmQ70 review better than hardware unboxed and prefer a5hun who goes on another level in detail.
Just thought I'd give an alternative to the main tech youtubers out there.

      • +8

I mean, it's just not the same without the moustache.

        • +4

If a Porn-Stash does it for you, all good, we wont judge… (jk)

      • +2

I watched that whole review to try to understand why it's better and I don't get it. He didn't test response times, uniformity or input lag, and he didn't compare anything to other displays. Honestly it was only slightly better than an LTT monitor review.

        • He actually shows real world examples and I thought his segment on colour accuracy was better done than HU. If looking at charts is more your thing that's fine but I preferred the actual use case examples. I look at enough charts at work. Show me why .03 response time is better or how certain profiles look in dark/bright games. He also touches on other things like the dell profile and vignette which while aren't the end all was nice extra detail. Could he improve? Sure. But hardware unboxed aren't the beacon of monitor reviews. I think that goes to a5hun.

He gave you the ICC profile. If you want Tim's, I am guessing you need to join Patreon.

  • +1

    Nice one :D

  • +3

    again?

    PS i love my pair

    • +11

You do have a lovely pair!

  • +7

Bit annoying the price keeps going up from the first deal of $510.

    • +23

I mean a deal is a deal, it's not always going to beat the previous price. That was an epic deal, this is a great deal! :)

    • +3

Sure LiMaa can do better.. :)

    • +1

Well somehow 103 people thought this was a good deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/568290

    • "Annoying" is an odd word to use here. People who park their cars badly is annoying.

      • Well I'm not pissed but I'm not happy.

Doesn't matter, didn't need to buy one.

  • +1

    Is this monitor g-sync compatible?

    • +3

      Yes!

    • +2

I picked this monitor last deal and can confirm Freesync works amazingly with my 2060 Super!

  • +6

Bought these last time. Was supposed to Arrive 21 oct. Was at my door 2 days later. Lovely monitor. All I need now is a good laptop deal to take full advantage

  • +1

is this one the ‘end of October’ deal you mentioned the first time?

    • +1

Yes it's been pushed forward to focus on Black Friday.

      • +2

will Black Friday have the same deals?

        • +1

          Hopefully better

      • -1

@LiMaaa Any luck on the U3818DW being a little cheaper on Black Friday by any chance? ;-) Missed the deal in July due to a funeral, after months of religiously checking the price every day.

        • +4

          Everytime I ask I'm told…

no deals on U or P series, followed by an angry emoji

Then I simply come back in a couple days and say…

          but what if…

          And I get NO!

But in Ozbargain spirit no means yes. Haha.

          • +1

@LiMaaa: haha Love ya work! No harm in asking just in case!

The neg hater(s) can FOQ :-P

  • +1

Great work as usual LiMaa! Any deals on the 4k S2721Q? :)

    • +4

you always ask haha, I'm working on it, but not yet. :/

      • +1

No dramas - and sorry for being a pain haha, really do appreciate your work!

        • +2

No it's fine. I keep twisting Dell's arm because I see the need, hopefully black friday.

          • +1

@LiMaaa: Eagerly waiting on for 2721DS or 2721QS. Hopefully there will be some good deals sooner than later

  • Is it a great choice for Xbox series X (1440p/120) or another 4k/60hz monitor?

    • I don't have an Xbox Series X console but I think Linus Tech Tips just did a test like that. I can't find the video now though.

  • +1

I was gaming on a 75Hz mon, then went to a 60Hz and that felt painful for the first 2 hours. I fear this will ruin 60Hz for me forever.

    • +1

Dude , 120 + FPS is so smooth it ruins 60 FPS

      • Sometimes on my desktop page I just move around the folder windows quickly all around. It is so buttery smooth.

Not sure whether this is the high FPS at work, or it's my mouse, or both.

  • Not sure about the delivery times….
I'm still waiting for my S2721DS from the previous deal….

  • Any chance of a deal on the S2721H? I've held out for the model with speakers…

  • Who's gone from an UltraSharp Monitor to one of these?

Is it just as good? I do creative work so need that colour accuracy! Need at least a screen that can do a minimum of an 'imac/mabook' quality of image.

    • Dual monitor bby

      • I have two of these already but now thinking of another one for 3 should I do it

        • I’m running 3 monitors now and still planning to buy this one. Problem is that two don’t have vesa mounts.

    • +1

It can reach the same level after calibration

Apparently much better after a full calibration

  • Does anyone know of these can be mounted?

    • +1

yes currently have mine mounted to the H80

    • +1

      VESA 100x100 compatible

  • +1

How's this compare to the ozb xiaomi 34"?

    • +3

Vastly superior response time. Vastly. We are talking true 4ms vs Xiaomi 20ms (VA dark shades on that monitor are brutal)

  • Was expecting a monitor from Dell this week only to receive an email advising of a month long delay. Hope they can manage to fill these orders rather than oversell.

    • +3

If you got it on one of my deals, you will likely get it at specified shipping times mentioned in my post. ETA's are so off it isn't funny.

Also… get back to work hehe ;)

    • +1

i got mine within 2 days of purchasing it on the last deal. hmm.

  • Excellent Monitor. As other have said, the YT technical reviews speak for themselves.

  • +1

Anything on the 32? Still contemplating on getting the 32 or the samsung G7. Hmmmm

    • +1

G7 is awesome on paper but been reading way too many reports of gsync flicker

  • +2

I wonder if there'll be any deals on the AW2521HF 24inch IPS monitor (240hz)

    • Imagine if a new 38" AW was about to be released and offered on black Friday, just imagine..

      • And what could one imagine the pricing to be on this during Black Friday sales?? 😉

        • No idea yet, but rrp is somewhere in the 2k range, so less than that ig.

  • I cant decide to pull the trigger on this or not, i have an x34 currently and its such a hard choice, i love the ultrawide features but i feel like 165hz would be a big upgrade from 100hz on the x34. And does anyone know how this screen compares in looks with the x34. Thanks

    • +3

This has been discussed in my previous deals, you have 3 hours, go read discussions and get what feels right for you. :)

    • Don't see how this would be an upgrade. It'd feel extremely small

      • +1

        That's what she said…..

  • god damn it, this or the xiao mi ultra wide………. ahhh first world problems…

    • From what I've seen people say 1440p's sweet spot for pixel sharpness is 27" .
      I would go this monitor.

      • +2

Mi 34 and this one got same Pixels per inch.

        • +1

There you go. Thanks for the feedback :)

    • Mi 34 uw no questions. Have mine and I love it

      • how do you find the slower response time at 144hz? i heard it blurrs the frames together cos it cant remove the pixels fast enough at that frequency. or is this all nit picky teritory?

  • +1

Very tempting to buy a second one, best not, as I don't need 165hz for a second monitor. But holding out for another great deal from Limaaa for the S2721D or S2721DS for my second monitor.

Thankyou again LiMaaa for your awesome work !

    • +3

Got the S2721DS last time. Awesome monitor.

    • +1

I have the S2721DGF and S2721DS side by side from previous deals - Great set up and they look good together.
How to play around with the colours a bit to get the screens matching.
I was tempted to buy 2 of the S2721DGF, but at the end of the day it is overkill as i am only gaming on one screen

      • +1

Yep, same here. No reason for me to spend twice the amount on a monitor im not going to use for gaming.

  • +7

    Hi,
How about deals on the S2721DS??
