    Good thing I waited

A good thing I found out from last 12% deal was to Buy each product separately, even if it means re-activating cashback this way it will save you from any returns which would invalidate the entire order.

      • +1

Awesome tip mate! Should be included in the OP tbh.

      • I'm curious, if you do this will Amazon still post the items together in one package or will they send them individually?

        • They'll consolidate multiple orders as long as the products are coming from the same distribution centre.

        • They don't even consolidate if you order at the same time is my experience, especially from US.

      • Good point. I ordered 6 things in one order and have one or two things I would return, but it's not worth it as it means losing the $25 cash back. In retrospect, I might have split the purchases across more orders, but not each product separately as not all of the items would have met the minimum threshold for free shipping.

    Thanks. Been waiting for this!

For those wondering, $230 is the magic number.

    • +1

I thought the sum is supposed to be around $208?

      • +17

The cashback is for the pre-tax and shipping figure, so the effective rate is 10.9%, and the breakpoint is higher than what you're calculating.

        • Is the rate always the same at 10.9%?

          • +2

            @first in line: That's just 12% ÷ 1.1.

Whatever the fee is before shipping and tax, that's what you get the cashback figure from. With free shipping, this deal caps out at a maximum purchase value of $230 once you include tax, which is how the prices are displayed on Amazon Australia.

    • +5

      $229.17 to be exact

What about items added to cart from the Your items-Saved for later list on the cart page? Are they eligible for the cashback?

  • "Purchases paid with gift cards are eligible for cashback (not Amazon credit)"

Do you guys know what the difference between Amazon credit and gift cards are? If you've added gift cards to your account, that still counts as gift cards, not credit?

    • +6

If you have added gift cards, they are treated as gift cards only. Amazon credit is any promotional credit given by Amazon or some credit issued in lieu of delayed delivery or damaged goods etc etc

      • Cheers

          Frasier

      • So assuming we can't use the $5 "promo credit" from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/585352
        ?

        • No. Plus if you have credit, I think it takes precedence over any mode of payment. So exhaust the credit before making the actual purchase you intend to claim cashback on.

          • +6

@bargain-lover007: You can actually choose not to spend the credit by going to 'payment method' and unchecking 'promotional balance'

What about an item with an opt in coupon by clicking/ticking the box like this?
    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B08DRB96WJ/ref=ox_sc_sa…

If I opt in to use the coupon, will I be eligible for the cashback?

    • +3

Terms say you 'may not' be eligible if using a coupon code not listed on CR.

No code on those so a grey area I'd say, TA would know more but I wouldn't risk it.

    • one of the thing I wanted use coupon too!!

      will this 12% cashback work?

  • +2

Come on shopback, bring back the uncapped again like BF.

    • +1

Yea I am waiting for that to drop. and Also no 20% sales on eBay surprise me

  • So if you use a proportion of the payment as Amazon Credit (given as part of gift card promo) you will be ineligable?

    • Yes, just untick promotional balance in payment method.

Use your credit to buy subscribe and save products.

  • Does cashback apply to back order item ships roughly in Feb?

  • Decisions decisions. What if the item increases in price tomorrow?

  • +6

Is it me but I noticed CR hardly tracks amazon transactions and I had to contact CR to track manually.

    • +8

Not a single miss for me.

    • +1

Using amazon app? Items already in your cart before you go cashrewards?

    • I've had all mine track but it's taken a bit longer than I remember previously.

  • Buy Amazon gift cards using Zippay and use them.
Buy from 7 /11 but some stores will not allow you to buy more than $100 using credit cards.
Or use amex cashback which is 25% (400 for 100).

    • Do both

    • +2

Or use amex cashback which is 25% (400 for 100).

            • @Wiser: There is actually a 7/11 near us, like 5 mins drive. I will try my luck there tomorrow morning otherwise I can drive to BP. I just don't want to get up too early. Or I just shop at Amazon using my credit card. It would be nice to have 10% off Amazon gift card.

              • @apple0604: It is worth if available.
Make use of zippay and cashrewards.good luck

                • @Wiser: Absolutely, planning on using zippay to get some gift cards tomorrow although haven't figured out which one to get. Got some Coles Group and Myer giftcards last Saturday. Now I regret I didn't some some Amazon ones last week.

Need a new kettle which is why I am looking at Amazon now. But couldn't find one that I like with a good price. Not sure what else that I can buy from Amazon. Maybe some household stuff.

Silly question - does "ensuring cart is empty" also include "items saved for later"? If I move an item from 'Saved for later' to 'Cart' does it still get counted in the cashback?

    • +4

From personal experience, there's no issue with that. I've used it multiple times with no issues

    • +1

      • Still curious: does anybody know if CB applies to the portion of a purchase that is not Amazon credit? It seems to me that I can’t stop Amazon automatically applying that credit first?

      • Cheers, just found it.

I know it says ALL categories, but i still want to be clear.
Do cameras count in that? They are usually one of the 0% categories for cashback.
Mainly thinking about a couple cheapish lenses that are sometimes good price on there.

    • +1

All includes everything…. 🙂 Good luck with your lens search..
