We can now confirm that JB Hi-Fi will be taking PS5 pre-orders in store starting today with stock set to arrive on or after January 21st.

As of today, stores have received their allocations for the next shipment meaning that they can now take pre-orders for the drop happening next week. You’re best to call your local JB Hi-Fi before heading in just in case they have already pre-sold out.

    Got one at JB Hi-Fi Westfield Sydney CBD, rep said they have 10 left. No ETA but said expected within the next week or two. Paid $50. Disc version for those interested. This was about half an hour ago.

    JB Hifi Osborne Park (WA) has run out as of about 45 minutes ago. I turned up and was told the last pre order had sold about 5 minutes before I got there.

    I'm sure there's thousands of units arriving every few weeks now, since they stopped the production of most PS4 units I believe PS5 units will be in full swing.

    Super dodgy that JB have stock to sell when they own The Good Guys and rejected people the other week that paid the full amount upfront for their preorder. Seems like they're optimising for foot traffic.

        Doesn't make much sense giving away 100 if they could have just diverted these stock. They must have no clue. Most people would have waited. And no way they make 100 profit from the foot traffic.

    I tried 2 stores in QLD. And they confirmed that no online or phone Pre ordering. Oxley store confirmed they were sold out, then called Orion Springfield store and they told they have few left. Rushed there and fortunately pre ordered 1. Fortunately not many people at the store.

    I went into my local store ( Narellan NSW ) today and was told they are only taking expressions of interest not preorders and wouldnt let me place a deposit
    Has anyone had this happen ?
    Hoping i didnt miss out on a console

      I rang a store in regional QLD and was told the same thing. It appears as if the stock is going to city stores, and regional ones are yet to receive any stock allocation hence only taking EOIs rather than pre-orders.

    JB HiFi Camberwell sold out of their preorders.
    I called hours ago after seeing this and they had preorders available in store so I went straight there and they sold out just before I walked in.
    Very frustrating

    Called Greensborough they hadn't got their allocation and was told to call back Monday.

    Called Doncaster, they had 6 left. I got down their and secured one, delivery/sms forecast on 21st Jan.

    Guys at sales confirmed as much.

    Thank you so much to the OP. Managed to get one from Strand Arcade, Sydney CBD around 3pm. I was 14/28 unit available. Many people in the store were not aware they were taking pre-orders, so the customer service representative needed to ask a few others first.

        What happens when full stock is available? I assume used market needs to drop below RRP. Otherwise as they realise stock is flowing in, they need to hurry and move product.

    Finally managed to put in a Pre-Order with Full Payment at JB-HIFI Canberra Center with an estimated pickup date of 27th January.
    Earlier when I called a different JB store they told me they are not taking any preorders.

    I was able to pre order in store at Carindale today.

    Had called Capalaba (had 20 left at 3pm today) and Indooroopilly (allocation exhausted) and they had been doing them as well. Indro person did say they’d be going up for online preorders on the 21st but not sure how accurate that is.

    I wonder if you paid the full amount is any difference from paying a deposit of $50 dollars. Mine was paid in full and on the receipt ( item has been placed in our priory queue and also request date is 20/01/2020.
