      You should go drive one, even if you have no intention of buying. The instant acceleration and the regenerative braking are fantastic. Takes a bit to get used to, but I love mine.

          You hear the electric motor, the tyres and that's it. It's super quiet, which is why some miss the sound of a powerful V8 when hitting those quick 0-100 times, or just cruising around :)

              But yea good to know you liked it, the acceleration is really only that special since it's electric and doesn't require a downshift to launch the car while moving at ~20km/h. Even on launch, the AWD system along with this instant electric power is what makes this car so enjoyable.

                @Zackeroo: Mine was an AWD performance model with an Autopilot (or drive assist for now) and I enjoyed the torque as well as the fact that I can literally enjoy the scenery when I was travelling to Sydney. Breaks were pretty short since infra is all over that route.
                I still think Tesla needs to invest in superchargers in Australia.
                Compared to what they have in US, infra is a joke here.

                  @urahara: The autopilot is really something else.
                  I found it extremely unsettling when approaching a bend at 100kph and having to force myself to not instinctively turn the wheel, or not slowing for a red light (the car leaves it to the last second in my opinion). you spend many years forming certain habits when driving and they all go out the window in this instance

                  @urahara: That's so true, while Australia has started showing their support for electric vehicles, they should really take some inspiration from the US's implemention of electric vehicle support.

                  Thr truth is, electric vehicles are seriously good for the environment, and if people are interested in buying them, Australia should be interested in supporting these decisions

                    @Zackeroo: Its funny that we export all the raw materials for batteries but don't have a single major battery manufacturer in Australia.
                    There is a huge policy paralysis and I think people should fund the battery transition together as a community.
                    It will make tons of money like it has done in Horsndale
