Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen $49 (OOS), Nest Mini $29, Nest Audio $74 (OOS), Nest Hub Max $249 Delivered @ Telstra

3500

Edit: It started an hour early!

Nest Hub 2nd Gen $49 Sold Out
Nest Hub Max $249
Nest Audio $74 Sold Out
Nest Mini $29
All Google accessories

Yes, you need a Telstra ID. If you don't have one, a $10 prepaid SIM will work. You can also use your Boost number.

Update: Looks like you can check out as guest, no Telstra ID required.

Cheapest price ever for the Nest Hub Gen 2!

This is the 7" model without camera. You can use it for things like setting kitchen timers by voice, following recipes, watching YouTube, playing music, controlling your home automation, using it as a auto-updating digital photo frame with a very well-tuned ambient screen, getting weather reports, viewing CCTV cameras or your Nest doorbell, sleep tracking (requires a sub from next year), etc.

It also works great as a bedside clock as the screen can auto-dim really low. The screen colour temperature also follows the room's ambient light so photos look more like a printed photo than a bright blueish screen.

Deal starts Feb 9th 1am AEDT.

As with all these sorts of deals, stock would be limited so be quick if you really want one.

It's certainly much better using the Eufy Security app on a phone.

        • +1

I've only had mine for a week but there's next to no lag using the Eufy Security app on your phone. Google notifications are a bit slower.

  • How quickly are these and the Audios likely to sell out? I see it starts at 1am, but can't stay up that late because I need to be up at 5am for work. Is it one of those things where stuff will be gone by then?

    • Curious to know too, I'll probably risk it and check in the morning at 6ish

  • +5

For those wanting it earlier than 1AM and have some spare points left over, the Telstra Plus store pretty much always updates at midnight rather than 1AM. A bit safer if people want to make sure they get in before it sells out and don't want to stay up later.

Also, the Plus store is much better designed and generally doesn't encounter the same issues as the Telstra main store.

For these sales, they generally do 2,500 Points + cheaper $ for the items (and don't need an active Telstra account to redeem if you have an existing Plus account).

  • Got a Nest Hub 2nd Gen that constantly freezes after it did some upgrade. Tried all suggestions to factory-reset it but to no satisfaction.
Wondering whether I should take my chances and get another one?

    • My screen go to black daily after 2 weeks.

      • Yeah, happening to me too. Not sure I want to risk this happening again.

        Mini works flawlessly.

        • It appear to be a common issue where google push it under the rug.

          • @JustLooking2018: It looks like quite a few commenters here have the Gen 2. If it was a common issue, surely there'd be more than just 2 people with the problem?

Have you contacted support or done a warranty claim?

            • @eug: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Speakers-and-Displays/Nest-Hub-black-screen-unresponsive/m-p/3650#:~:text=Please%20plug%20your%20device%20in,and%20then%20attempt%20a%20reboot.&text=(unplug%20the%20device%20then%20hold,the%20device%20turns%20back%20on.)

              And I got full refund

      • Happens with mine too…have to restart every time.

        • Removing the power pug to restart but how long till it stop working.

    • Happened to me also on both Nest Hubs I have. Try factory reset 10 times. Seriously. It’s on one of the Google support pages. Worked for me on both units. It’s something like hold both volume buttons in when switching on for 10 seconds - google that bit.

  • Do they have enough stock? Will it sell out asap?

  • Photo album alone is worth the $49. Also in the morning while I am making my coffee, I call out. "Hi Google, tell me about my day" It give me the latest news, weather, time it will take for me to get to work, and the first 3 appointment in the morning.

  • MyDeal is currently offering Google Nest Hub Max at $245

  • I love my Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen. cannot live without it in my kitchen

    • What's the difference between this and the 1st gen? Not sure if i should upgrade..

      • LOL, I just realized my nest hub is 1st gen and I still love it!!!

      • Don't upgrade a Hub 1 to Hub 2, but I upgraded from Hub 1 to Hub Max for bigger screen, video calling and better audio. Basically more of what I already used the most.

      • What's the difference between this and the 1st gen? Not sure if i should upgrade..

From memory the audio is meant to be better, the screen no longer has that lip thing around the border so it's easier to clean, Soli radar is included which is used for sleep tracking, and comes with a Thread/Matter radio for future home automation use.

        • Thank you!

          • @Amr911: The audio is considerably better, and even quite a bit better than the Nest Minis imo.

  • Op, How do I check my boost account id is valid to buy one gen 2 google nest hub on this Telstra day sale. Please give the url. Thanks

How do the Nest Doorbell stack up to Arlo?

  • You can link your boost number to telstra id. It worked for me.

    • How did you do this?
I’ve got a telstra acct from a previous service and a boost mobile. Can’t find where to link it

      • Logged into my account and it asked me to link a mobile or landline number. I linked my boost mobile and it successfully linked and allowed me to the online shopping page.

        • Thanks

      • If you couldn't find where to link your Boost number, you can create a new Telstra ID to link it. I don't know if it works, I never have a Boost number.

    https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Blog/Upcoming-Speaker…

Due to a recent legal ruling Sonos vs Google, you might want to double check that all functionality is available. Seems Google has withdrawn a lot…and they have been very quiet on the matter.

    • argh yeah you can't do volume anymore, or control other speakers than the room ur in.

      • argh yeah you can't do volume anymore, or control other speakers than the room ur in.

You can, you just can't control the volume of all of them at the same time with one fader/volume buttons.

        • When I'm in room X, I can't do ANYTHING with another volume via voice or routine. You could before.

          • @furyou: You didn't mention voice and routines earlier. You can still control the volume of all your speakers from your phone, you just have to adjust the sliders individually.

            When I'm in room X

How do the speakers know which room you're in?

            • @eug: They can hear me

              • @furyou: OK, so you're specifically talking about controlling the volume of other speakers via voice. I'm not much of a speaker group user so it never bothered me, but I guess it can be pain if you have a need to do it that way. At least it can still be done on your phone.

                • @eug: I used a routine to reset volumes each day. Otherwise one is silent and broadcast doesn't work.

  • FYI, anyone interested in the Nest Hub Max can just get OW price beat of MyDeal: https://www.mydeal.com.au/google-nest-hub-max-chalk-7092856
Should be $232.75 with free shipping. I got OW to beat them last time around and got it for $227, but $232.75 still not bad.

  • Was thinking about the Tab S7 -

    Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 5G $1,944 $1,444 $500

However going clicking on the link the price RIGHT NOW is $1249…
How is this a bargain if the sale price is actually $195 MORE?

    • +1

I think it's a typo, there is no Tab S7 5G (it only comes in wifi/4G variants), but there is a Tab S7+ 5G which is $1,944.

    • +1

Samsung will be releasing Tab S8 series in a few days from now. So price might drop further.

      • Yeah, but not looking forward to those notches…
Someone needs a boot in the backside for that, no excuse especially after ribbing Apple about their notches for years…

  • -2

I hope that this communicates well with my 3rd gen booster nanobots ~

  • Would the Nest Hub 2 have a delivery charge, since it'll be under $100?

    • Just get 3.

Anyone else getting "Something went wrong" when trying to checkout with one of these when signed in?

I know the deal isn't out yet but wanted to get it all sorted and confirm it's working before midnight because filthy scalpers are inevitably going to try jumping on this.

Seems like they may have already…

Currently on the phone to their support with the number it gives, but I don't have my hopes up.

    • I'm also having this issue. The page works without logging in, but logging in gives the error.
I'm on live chat at the moment, but it doesn't look like they're gonna reply anytime soon…

      • Also jumped onto live chat. I'll update with how I go.

Here's hoping Redon can be our saviour. I believe in you Redon!

Were you an existing customer or did you grab a sim today?

        • I had grabbed a sim today, but I already had an account (although I believe I only used it for Telstra TV Box Office).
Looks like the issue will take 24-48 hours to be resolved :\

          • @CartoonPizza: What'd they say to you?

Old mate Redon said his mate reckons it's because the promo isn't available yet. His mate said even he couldn't get it working. Guess we'll find out in 3 hours…

            • @Mexay: The person I spoke to (didn't seem to have a name that I could see) was getting their team to look into it.
~15 mins later a service request got raised, and apparently the team will notify me of a solution, which may take 24-48 hours to be resolved.
I'll probably try checking the listing at 1am to see if it's working, but otherwise I'll probably just go buy it instore if it still doesn't work.

  • Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen
We have no netflix etc. Our nest minis hardly understand what we say, and half the time lose our tuya connected home devices.
Would the hub be of any use to us? Thought it'd be easier to press buttons than talking to dumbo. But I have smart actions in the app so I guess it wono't appear on the hub.
It also feels weird to have basically a crippled android tablet?

And does it not work with gsuite or whatever it's called now? nest mini don't work with it so it's pretty stuffy for my smart home experience and can't even tell me my calendar.

Sorry, we are unable process your order online. For assistance, please visit a Telstra store
For help placing an order, please bring the following documents to your local Telstra store:
Your Australian driver’s licence or Australian passport,
Two other forms of ID, such as a Medicare card, a credit card or birth certificate,
Your proof of address (your lease agreement or purchase of land contract).

We’ve emailed these details to you for your reference.

    • I had this problem when I purchased my Pixel 6 Pro last time. Basically it means they have set a lock to your account and the only way to lift it is to jump into a local store with your IDs. I tried the online support, no use. Good luck to you.

      • I had the same error. Checked out as a guest.. the order went through.. received a confirmation mail within seconds

        • no luck for me

      • thanks for the info! looks like i miss out…again lol

    • Also got the same error message. Did they also send you an email as per error message?

      • Nope. Haven't received anything yet.

  • +1

Seems I was able to snag a Nest Audio without even needing a Telstra account. Just purchased as guest.
Received the confirmation email and $74 was charged to my account, so lets see how I go.

  • Was signed into the telstra app at same time as opened telstra site on chrome on phone, went pretty quick. The id for delivery was new - they didn't want that for over $2k of phones last year, but for a $49 Googly thing today. Weird.

Email confirmation and price, receipt number, but no receipt yet, no delivery fee on nest (maybe as original price over the free del amount).

  • +4

Has anyone managed to use Telstra Plus points on these? I was hoping the rewards store would also be discounted, but it's still 50k points for the hub and audio.

    • Sometimes they update it later in the day, sometimes they don't update it at all.

  • +5

    Something went wrong
We're sorry, but we’re currently experiencing technical issues.
    Please try again later.

      • got this too. perhaps too many CC auths on the same card?

    • getting the same error

  • those phones are still at the rrp, interesting

  • wadahek? not working.

  • PS: Make sure you double check the total at checkout. Was showing as $49 on product page, but when added to cart increased to $149.

  • Which One will OOS first???
