20% off The Good Guys Gift Cards at Australia Post

4400

20% off on The Good Guys gift cards when purchased at Australia Post from 30 April to 13 May.

PS: Although the deal technically starts on the 30th, some Australia Post outlets seem to be honouring the deal now.

PPS: Looks like the link has been photoshopped out of the Australia Post official catalogue. And the link has been removed from Lasoo. I've updated the link to the catalogue. It is on the bottom of page 5 of the catalogue.

    • wow… ozsnapped

  • site is now overloaded!! cards were literally available for 20 minutes.

  • damn.. i snooze for 10 mins and its gone

  • LOL….I nearly missed out trying to figure whether to buy $700 or $750 as someone indicated that the 64gb Ipad is $729. When I finally decided, $100 was gone. Thank God the $50 ones were still left. You snooze you lose mate.

    • But iPad all sold out at TGG :P

      • Then I'm in deep trouble coz there's nothing more I want from TGG. Don't jinx me superforever. :)

        • umm ..no trouble at all, i'll buy em off ya :)

        • Which state are you in?

I have called all the stores in Sydney only a few left in some store, like 16wifi or 64GB 4G.

But properly sold out today because the store I bought yesterday only have 1 64GB 4G left.

If you are not in Sydney, you better call them ASAP and ask them to reserve it for you but the problem you don't know how long the card will arrive.

        • Same state as you superforever. We both got our Acer S3 from the Gordon (Gordan) HN remember? I'll try the shops on the weekend. Worst case scenerio, I have Knackers to buy it off me. :P

      • OK, ktks.

FYI, I bought mine from Prospect store, after I bought mine they have 2 left and one my friend reserved (he should have already bought it today) so 1 left as of yesterday.

        Good luck.

I remember some store they still have some 16GB wifi but could not remember which one, call them to reserve it before you go.

    THANK YOU smokingcool.

I cannot get any. ALL GONE.

  • Will they come online again?

    • Some said it is a 1Mil promotion but nobody sure.

      Check back later.

      • I don't think it is 1M promotion.
Looks like they just wanna to get rid of the old gift card

        • Me too, I don't think it is a 1M promotion.

    • Another victim of ozbargain.

  • Hopefully, for those that don't have any cards yet.

They must have set the maximum ordering to "0" because when you click into the product it says "Stock available"

    http://shop.auspost.com.au/gifts/gift-cards/sku/0590219
    or
    http://shop.auspost.com.au/gifts/gift-cards/sku/0590218

direct links for those who are lazy.

May yet still come back up, might only be releasing so many at once.

    • +1

I think they are doing something to prevent another smokingcool.

May be limited by IP, etc.

      • Surprised they didn't have a maximum quantity specified from the start, something of an oversight!

        • Not surprise, the same thing happened with HN, DSE.

    • +1

I think the "Stock available" is manually updated. I have the cards sitting in my cart but when I try to proceed to payment it says "Available quantity for the item '$100 The Good Guys gift card (20% off)' is 0. Please adjust your cart before proceeding."
Have to wait and see whether they add more stock in. From the look of it, I don't think they put up much stock in the first place.

      • It so annoying to read this:

"Hurry! Two weeks only. On sale Monday 30 April to Sunday 13 May 2012"

Hopefully they will get more stock soon.

Couldn't believe my luck this afternoon, I made a visit to a few post offices in Western Sydney on the way home from work. They told me they had all sold out and were unsure when stock was coming in. I made a call to the St Clair store as a last resort when I couldn't get any online and they still had $1800 worth so I cleaned them out :P Then my girlfriend told me she got $1000 worth on the way home from uni.

So there still must be plenty out there if you look hard enough, especially in Western Sydney.

    • Good on ya!

    • What you planned to buy with $2800?

      • +1

I'm moving out of home in July so I need all the essential appliances, plus a massive Television ;)

        • +2

Just like me, the massive television is a "need"

    • Can you please say which Western Sydney post offices you tried? From your past post and this one, looks like you cleaned out both St Marys and St Clair. Did you try out Penrith / Mt Druitt way?

      • Hey Kimmy,

I got to St Marys and St Clair. I tried the Llandilo and Londonderry post offices and the other local St Marys ones with no luck. Not sure about the Penrith store. There could very well be some floating around in the Druitt.

  • Has anyone who ordered from the UAT site had any luck? I sent through a query but no response so far!

    • It was a testing site and unlikely to have been placed.

  • Salisbury south BC had about $2000 left today after i got $400 For an ipad

    • +2

16GB is not big enough if you plan to use it to play game.

A lot of good games are around 1-2GB especially with the new iPad high resolution.

      • if i wanted to play games i would get a ps3 and save money !!!!!!!!!!

    • Just tried there first thing this morning, but none left :(

Interestingly, there was a sign on the door on the way in saying something along the lines of "the 20% off promotion for Good Guys and Best Restaurants Gift Cards is only for personal use, not commercial use"

  • Not sure tgg will not price match after knowing there are a few hundred thousand worth of gift cards waiting to be redeemed within 12 months.

    • TGG will follow their usual sales policies. It's not until you go to pay that they know you're paying with gift cards.

      • JK, I know TGG is not as dodgy as HN and EB Games. They don't mean it.

  • Anyone knows which good guys in QLD still has new ipad in stock? check its website, all are out of stock…

    • 64g 4g is the only one I can find of the iPad 3 and that's from Balina to lutwitche.
Plenty of iPad 2's available. Helensvale GG has 64g wifi iPad 2's.

  • Does anyone know if any AP has TGG gift cards left? I need $100 to buy an iPod Touch.

  • I've just gone through TGG price match policy, it doesn't mention excluding gift cards. Has anyone tried to ask TGG to price match AP TGG 20% off gift cards yet? It is an identical product sold by a local brick and mortar storefront so there shouldn't be any reason for them not to price match.

    • Someone tried and failed. Apart from any other reasons, there's none in stock at AP. Also it looks like they are different vouchers. Does Goodguys sell ones which you can 'define' the amount?

$50 The Good Guys gift card (20% off)
    Stock unavailable

$100 The Good Guys gift card (20% off)
    Stock unavailable

  • So today at the local Good Guys in Townsville I was told someone came in with $6000 (yes, six grand) of gift cards. I don't envy the person who had to scan those cards.

Is the Ozbargainer lurking somewhere? I promise I won't come after you at all for taking every GG gift card in the whole city…

    • lol some guy took 6k from my PO reserved from the day before. i was fine in line and got nothing that day.. so i went elsewhere and got giftcards from two diff po's.

  • Does anyone know what's the minimum TGG will give back to you in cash from change leftover on a gift card? for example if you buy something for $190 and pay with two $100 dollar card, do they give you the $10 back in cash change or is it left on the card?

    • Left on card.

      • Make sure you remember to spend it all before it expires, I think that's how stores make money from gifts cards

        • Make sure you can spend all on what you want/need.

  • The BRA gift card looks to be of good value too. I'm surprised it's not taken up as much. I'm sure some of us go to the participating restaurants occasionally and with a 1 year gift card validity period, it should be sufficiently attractive. Is it not?

    • see this thread. might be better to get it at coles. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/69062

    • +1

Personally, I didn't see too many restaurants in my area that I could use the card at. In addition, the plethora of group buying deals at ~50% off is better value for my money.

      • all depends on taste and locale but you don't get restaurants like Aria etc on group buying sites so I think its very good.

New Ipad - 64gb Wifi black now available at Caringbah Good Guys

If you are in Sydney area and are looking for an Ipad - Caringbah will be receiving a bunch in the next week. Ring and speak with Bill who will keep one aside for you.

    • bought the new ipad 16gb Wifi black at Castle Hill GG yesterday, only doing $523 but still happy considerating the 20% off using gift card, that makes it $418.40 :)
1 or 2 avail there but not sure about now.

      • They wouldnt price match?

        • i asked them but they said no, that is the best they can do. it was for my wife's bday present so i had to get it, can't wait any longer as wouldnt know when apple will restock them at TGG

        • maybe they realise there'll be a tonne of gift card users and are refusing to price match. i hope i can get them to at least price match big w. don't need one right away, may wait till June to get

        • I spoke to the Castle Hill store yesterday, they refused to match Big W pricing as they knew they had no stock. I asked how do you know and he said they called up Big W!

Other Good Guys that I contacted in the past (Penrith & Prospect) were happy to price match, but that was last week when there was stock.

Not sure if its a policy across all TGG now.

        • Castle Hill Good Guys is hopeless. I am local but I go elsewhere, because their discounts are dismal, find all sorts of excuses to not price match, etc. I don't recommend them at all.

      • My local GG did it at $497. Now take them up on their price match policy and show them Big W are selling these at $498.

        • they know both big w & dse is selling @ $498 but they just won't pricematch since there are only limited stock, so i had to get it.

      • Called GG in Midland WA, they had 3 left, 2 were reserved..
He happily reserved the iPad and mentioned on the phone that the price would be $498.

Standing at Parramatta PO again, again the cards aren't scanning.
I feel so sorry for the clerk. $4500 is going to take a long time to key manually.

    • Did they replenish? Or existing stock?

  • I've got an iPad on hold but can't find stock of cards. Anyone in the Brisbane area who has spare cards, I need $500 and am willing to pay $425
