  • This or 2060?

    • +7

this should outperform the 2060. But it is scenario dependent, both are decent.

The RX6600 8GB uses less power has 2GB's of extra memory and is faster (sometimes >30%+ faster)… will also have longer driver support as its a newer card..

Were the RX6600 looks to hit 60+ FPS in almost every game @1080p the RTX2060 is at 45FPS…. you will need DLSS just to get over 60FPS and that feature isnt in every game.. also AMD has FSR 2.0 coming soon.

    • +1

6600 no brainer. like the other guy said, 6600 can handle pretty much every game on max settings at 1080p 60fps. 2060 can't.

      • How well do you think it would run a triple-monitor setup at 1080p?

        • +1

it wont be 1920x1080p… it will be 5760x1080rez… you would need a better graphics card for that.. maybe a GTX3060ti/ RX6700XT - minimum for new games… old games should run fine

You could always use FSR/RSR/DLSS .. one of the many upscalers from Nvidia or AMD

Same model has been $450 on ebay for a week and includes a cable. It's a lot closer to msrp than the current 3060ti prices

    • +1

This isnt a 3060ti competitor.. Just a tad under 3060 with no dlss, recent review from hardware unboxed put the 3060ti close to or matched with 6700xt, they recommended it over the 6700xt

I think his just talking about what model is at what price… not about whats best value.. ALL cards should be at or below RRP/MSRP

We have new gen cards coming out soon from AMD, Nvidia and intel.. All cards should be at run out pricing.. Once ETH 2.0 hits just watch how crazy prices will get… There is going to be a massive graphics card price crash.

        • +2

Ah I see… Makes sense and yes I agree with your view on pricing considering new releases due this year.

        • +1

so what you are trying to tell us is HODL……

        • That being said, tsmc said they're increasing chip prices by 20%, so it'll likely offset the crash for newer chips.

          • @Wonderfool: Nope… those prices will be for NEW orders for new chips like AM5 zen4 and RDNA3 / new intel GPU's and Nvidia GPUs… all other pricing would have been fixed on contract

    BOGOF or GTFO

    • GTFO

      That's a new naming series after GTX….

  • For a 6600 at this price, sure is a good buy! Wonder if this even drop below $400, who on earth will buy that 6500Xt?

    • if the 6600 drops under $400 the 6500XT will drop under $200..sometimes its all about price

      • 6500XT has been reported as selling 30-40% below retail in some countries already, no one wants that POS. was shocking last month when people were claiming it was a good buy at RRP.

        • Yeah and remember BPC had this 6500XT prebuilt for $699 few weeks ago, it still quickly gone ozbargained, so it doesn't matter if its a POS, if the price is cheap, ppl will still buy that!

You can get it from ebay without paying delivery or surcharge.

    • Hopefully we will see $899 prebuilts with 6600!

  • Good deal OP! Prices are getting cheap. Hopefully we get a good 3060 ti deal soon

    • Agreed, also waiting for one of those. What do you think a reasonable price would be for one?

      • Hm not sure. Afterpay day sales hit $670 and there's been multiple deals in the low 700s now. I don't think $550-600 would be too far fetched for a good branded one in the coming months and it's likely we might even see lower. From this OzB thread: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/587979 it looks like we are returning to around launch prices so another dip seems moderately likely given the price trend and new releases happening later this year.

      • 3060ti = $540 msrp and I haven't seen one close to that price yet. The retail sector side is probably still price gouging as it's in far higher demand than AMD than the rx6600

Meanwhile $443 msrp for the RX6600.

3060ti won't come down until there's a dropoff in people buying them.
