Cannot wait for these deals to keep on coming!!

  • +2

    Ooo 100% cashback, cheers GYB!

    • +1

I guess less than 100% cashback because most gift cards come in $10, $20, $25 denomination?

      • +1

        EBay has $15
        Amazon $10/30
        SuperSwap $5/10/25

        • +1

thanks… forgive my noobness please <3

  • great deals

  • +2

and we also have something massive from eBay on the 27th so keep your eyes peeled!

Hopefully something for non Westpac customers

    • Non-Westpac deals. FYI the Westpac Lounge promos are being paid for by Westpac for Westpac customers, hence these supplemental deals are targeted. Might be worth considering joining Westpac as they should be around for a while (same situation as ANZ and cashrewards).

  • +1

    are they stackable?

    • +1

Curious indeed. In the past they have had unique GCs for promos like this, but they were single cards/stores and set (not minimum) values which is different.

  • +2

Dammit might have to finally cave on Westpac account

    • Same. Wonder if its hard or takes long to open

      • Just did it in less than 10 minutes, digital card available so was able to take advantage of the older offers

  • +1

Does ‘queueing’ for the deal in app actually
    Lock you in a spot?

    • No.

      • Sweet thanks

      • Does it opt you in for the challenge once you queue

      • +1

        Seems absolutely pointless then

  • Thanks SB and GYB!

  • Thanks GYB! glad I waited to purchase gift cards for the $12 bonus cb for $100 ebay gc and $5 bonus for $50 super swap gc. So I guess I can get $37 bonus cashback from $150 mixed gc (ebay + super swap)

Now the real challenge, will I be fast enough.

Edit: Actually come to think of it, if these 2 offer stacks (no seperate purchase) then I'll just get one or the other (ebay or super swap)

    • +1

Sorry to burst your bubbles but the SS and eBay challenges end in 24hrs. These new challenges start in 24hrs

      • Wahhh, I guess you have to edit your post ;P
I based the end date on that which you put as 11:59pm 26th

        • Thanks! I counted the 2 days from the start date. All fixed now :)

    • +1

Both ebay and super swap gc challenges end today. OP’s deal starts tomorrow.

      • Yeah just realised after looking at the app.

  • Damn i should never have closed my westpac account

    • +2

If you're an ex-customer, you might be able to reactivate your old account via the phone (possibly even online), then you can get access to the digital card via the app

  • +3

Receive $15 bonus Cashback from ShopBack when you spend $15 or more in one single transaction on an eligible gift card

What are the eligible gift cards?

    • +2

      In the op

Included Selected Stores: eBay, Amazon, Uber, Uber Eats, Chemist Warehouse, The Good Guys, JB Hi-Fi, BP, Target, Sephora, ShopBack Super Swap.

      • +1

The problem is: is it any regular gift cards we buy all the time or is it a special url we have to follow?(they sometimes do that)

        • +1

With the previous Westpac deals, I just click through from the challenge in the app where it says “Shop now” and that just takes you to the gift card section

  • +1

A bit confused about the 10% bonus cashback.

    Bonus Amount: 10% Bonus Cashback
    Cashback Cap: Uncapped

But then that are caps in brackets.

    • Got me confused too but I think it means everyone with an account can get it while other cashbacks have an opt-in limit.

  • Is this only for credit card users of westpac

    • +1

      No, debit is fine

  • +3

Gonna be stuffed with way too much Xmas food to stay awake til midnight

  • -1

    GYB! Legend as usual!

  • Just got the two Westpac cards - credit and debit

I assume the eftpos card is not eligible.
Wouldn’t matter anyway. Don’t know where it is. Haven’t used it in years. Forgot what money looked like.

    • I have a westpac debit card and it works.

  • Merry Christmas everyone thanks Shopback people for posting this year too!

  • Date/Time: 26th December 12:00am to 11:59pm AEDT
    Redemption Cap: First 500 users

Is $15 worth staying up until midnight tonight ?

    • True ozbargainer will ;)

  • Since it's impossible to sign up in branch on time, does signing up online (assuming you have enough ID), allow you access to the digital card (numbers and CVC) immediately?

    • Curious too, but I was reading T&C's for waiving the $5 monthly account keeping fee and they require paying my pension into their account as a concession card holder to waive it and it feels like too much work. Good luck to people opening one today though 😬

    • Yes assume you’re talking about a debit card

Once your account is approved and active, you get access to a digital card in the app with numbers and a dynamic CVV (changes daily).

      • Thanks. Tried doing it but the stupid website wouldn't take my passport and DL. I'll let this one go.

        • Yes I had trouble too. Have opened over 20 accounts with no issues before. Have to go to a Branch and they insist on an appointment.

          • @Yola: Same. I did 2 other banks completely online, not to mention credit card apps as well.

  • +1

I love shopback, their system just works. Cashrewards on the other hand… they have been around longer? but their tracking system and terms/conditions are still lagging wayyyy behind.

    • +2

Not true, depends on what it is. GC bonus always tracked and confirmed fast.

I support Aussie companies where I can.

    • I have had no problems with CR tracking on GC's and I like that I can purchase them on a web site.

  • Do the $15 and $5 bonuses stack in one transaction?

Eg buy a $20 gift card and get $20 back?

    • Yes I think the idea is if you miss out on the $15, you'll still get the $5 bonus.

      • Yeah 500 spots for $15, its going to be a cat fight

        • +2

Yep, but the Westpac cards only condition should make a huge difference. I'm super curious if it will manage to last more than a few minutes.

          • +1

@Hiphopopotamus: It's at midnight on Christmas Day. I'm suspect it it will last 10 minutes at least.

    • +1

Previous offer stacked and you didn’t have to buy both.

      But perhaps GYB can confirm

  • I understand Westpac wants to get more popular with these offers. No one of the family is with Westpac. I only remember Westpac having high fees and other banks were more attractive.

    • The offers made me look it up, but decided against it because of fees (can be waived but requires me switching where I get paid and close the account i have had for over 10 years because it has the same rules for waiving account keeping fees —commbank)

    • Not really. Most major banks are moving towards “digital sales”. CBA is mainly building their own or funding start ups (cashback in their own CBA app, Cheddar etc.), ANZ partnership with Cashrewards and now Westpac partnership with Shopback.

Time to move up on the chain or die.

  • Thanks for posting OP

  • spend $15 or more in one single transaction on an eligible gift card

So does this limit you to 1 gift card? Or could I for example get 3 x $5 gift cards in one transaction and get the $15 cashback?

    • +1

That would be 3 separate transactions wouldn't it?

    • I got 3 x $5 Superswap in one transaction so I assume that qualifies. Update: bonus seems to have come through as “challenge completed’

  • For these Westpac deals, do we need to click on the specific shop now link, or just load gift card now and just checkout once 12am hits

  • Bought

    • same but no tracking yet lol

    • Tracked (the gift card cashback plus $15 and $5 bonuses). That's $20.40 in my pocket for nothing. Pretty amazing.

  • +2

$15 is a really weird amount when you can't get that denomination on most gift cards. Bought 2x$10 in one transaction, didn't want to risk delays in tracking on two transactions trying to get exactly $15

  • purchased $25 super swap, waiting the Bonus task(s) finished…

    • yep 50c pending, waiting for the challenge bonus now. I'll give it 15 mins …

    • only $5 bonus.
      Sad…

      • same, I was straight in though. I call BS

  • bought twice (total $15+ 15 + 5)but no bonus cashback on either $15 or $5

    • Yes, I've done the same thing…

    • Just tracked. Took like 8 min.

  • Bought. Let's see how it comes out. Doesn't show anything on the app yet. Just a pending purchase

Edit: The 2% cashback part was approved. Nothing about the bonus yet.

  • Bought but not tracked yet. I also still have the shop now button on the challenge….

    • Yea same..how would people.even know how many left. Bit Scammy as people will buy thinking they get $15 and just end up with $5

    • Like wise mate.

    • Me too.

  • Pending 😅

    • Same here. Did it after 12 but showing as pending but payment taken straight away

      • Both tracked and all good now 👍🏼

  • How do we know if the $15 cashback deal has worked? I went through the Westpac Lounge and bought a $15 ebay card using my Westpac card, but it didn't say anything at checkout about anything but the 2.5% cashback (37 cents - hurrah).

Is this basically just a gamble? (Sorry if this seems obvious to everyone else, I've never done anything like this before).

Edit: Seems to have worked? Seems to have tracked, but still pending. It says "Congrats! You've qualified for your bonus and it has been added to your Pending Earnings. It will move to your Available Balance shortly after you: Have your withdrawal details updated."

Thing is, my withdrawal details look fine (it's just my Paypal account). Does anyone know what I have to do?

    • Same here! It says that I need to update my withdrawal details but I just updated and the notification is still there :/ I have tried 2 different bank accounts with the same issue.

Were you able to find out how to solve the issue?

      • I haven't solved it, but I did find an old comment from the middle of 2022 posing the same question. Apparently they checked via live chat and were told it may take up to five days to show as "confirmed."

        • +1

Ah okay, so it has nothing to do with our actual withdrawal details then (or sounds like it). Thanks for the update!

  • Both challenges marked as completed, nice

  • Got it finally Yeah Easy $20 But spent an extra $15 in FOMO

  • Hi GYB, purchase successfully, but not tracked with bonus.

    • Me too

      • It’s seems wired, I purchased successfully with $25 super swaps at 12:00 am but now only track $5, when I do the screenshot at 12:01 am, the $15 bonus still not claimed, but now they say all claimed before I finish, I don’t know why I purchased in time.

        • Same here… mine was stock in pending. I actually did another one to make sure. That one went though straight away and I'm pretty sure the second one is what got me the $5 bonus, not the first one. Just saw an email for the first voucher come through at 5am… which is prob why i never got the $15… not fair… seemed to be a glitch with the system for people who purchased straight away… ours actually got processed after others
