    Limited stock.

Can be price matched with google store or Jbhifi. They have plenty of stock.

      • +2

Yes, definitely should try price match. Could this be cheaper by using some coupons, vouchers or discounted gift cards at Jb or Google ? Just looking to get it close to $750. Would like to see what's the best someone's been able to get it for.

    • +5

Be aware of camera lens glass smashing itself. Otherwise a great phone

      • +1

Is it possible to stop it doing that?

        • +6

In short, no, it looks to be a defect in the design of the aluminium & glass camera panel. Expansion /contraction causes crack.

          • +5

            @robotics: Nexus 6p had a similar problem.

          • +7

@robotics: You would expect that by making phones for a couple of years they would already avoid making these design mistakes, yet i feel every google phone has had a hardware issue in the past years

            • +3

@pichxlonco: The 6P was made by Huawei

              • +1

@[Deactivated]: And this one's made by Foxconn… what's your point?

                • +1

@nitens: Huawei made and designed the phone. It's not really a google phone.

              • +2

@[Deactivated]: Wow, had no idea the phones kept being made by other companies. It makes even less sense to have these mistakes then, as huawei does have the experience. Interesting

                • +1

@pichxlonco: Nexus phones were designed by different companies, including HTC (1), Samsung (S / Galaxy), LG (4 & 5), Moto (6), Huawei (6p) and Asus (7). And this collaboration stopped since the Pixels.

              • @[Deactivated]: Nah. They were all designed by HTC team but manufactured by different OEM

      • +4

Confirmed, happened to me. Google yet to accept that it's a defect. Otherwise was a marvellous phone.

        • +5

Huh didn't expect it to be an issue here. Well shit.

Never liked the way they had the glass flush like that, and now I have a proper reason for it heh.

      • Well, I ordered it last night but didn't post the deal here due to limited quantity ( didn't think of price match then). Just got a confirmation of ready to pick up. If I'll get a deal on 7 pro I'll be returning this for pro. This is my first Pixel and I'm positive mainly because I needed this to take good photos without the need to carry the dslr everywhere.

Wow, thank you!! Nice to see you include NT on the list

      • How you managed to get this list? API call?

  • +4

Great price, match at JB and throw some gift cards into the mix for more savings

  • +4

Fabulous phone. Noticeably better than Pixel 6 in a number of ways, IMO. If you like Android, this phone is as close to perfect as it gets.

    • +4

Upgrades look incremental at best, what stood out for you?

      • +4

Chickpeas summarises it well. They are incremental, but in total add up to a significantly more pleasing experience. The screen is noticeably brighter and the battery life better for me as a result of the better modem. I guess my highest compliment is that I don't really want to put the phone down when I pick it up!

    • +1

What are the noticeable improvements? I've currently got the 6, but would consider an upgrade if it's worth while. Most of what I've read I've written off as marketing spin, so I'd really appreciate the perspective of someone who actually has one.

    • +11

Much better reception stability (new modem)
      Brighter screen
      Improved fingerprint reader
      Software face unlock
      More compact design
Better stability on the software front (not exclusively because of the phone)
      Same battery (average)

All in all, minor refinements but together they make for a more enjoyable and less frustrating experience.

      • +2

Do you get AI screening calls and booking stuff?

        • +1

Yep, all the AI stuff thatโ€™s also available on the pixel 6 + clear calling.

I think some of the phonetree routing features arenโ€™t there (US specific at this point I think)

      • +3

If the back glass cracks that defeats all the positives

    • I agree, but I do wish Google gives one the option of removing the At a Glance widget entirely from the home screen. It takes up an entire row and leaves a permanent date display when disabled (I use a clock widget which comes with a date and don't need to put up with Google's date that looks out of place on my home screen).

      • +1

With android you can just install another launcher (e.g. Nova Launcher) and have it the way you want.

        • +1

And then kiss fluid animations (when using fullscreen gestures) goodbye.

    • +1

How about compared to the 5? I like the back fingerprint sensor for unlocking, hows the under screen one?

I feel the 5 is perfect, only thing I'd probably want is better camera and screen (both already awesome).

      • Never had the 5 so I can't really say

  • +1

Thanks. I tried to get Officeworks to price match the Telstra deal but was refused due to the line "If you already have a service with us, you can buy outright without adding a plan".

    • -8

      And?

      • +2

        He was refused ๐Ÿ‘

    • I was able to successfully price match Telstra deal at OW few months back by showing them that it can be added to the cart without having any service.

      • My guy wasn't having a bar of it. Turns out for the better as this is cheaper.

        • +1

Try google store mate, I've just got it for $749 with the help of this code https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/754336

Once this'll be shipped I'm planning to cancel officeworks pick up, fingers crossed it would be a straightforward cancellation. Don't know much about any discounted gift cards otherwise would've tried jbhifi for sure - price match and 10% discounted gc I wish. Dreaming

          • @SuperLate: Thanks but I've already picked up from OW

          • +1

@SuperLate: You're a legend, was just able to use one of the last codes at this thread which no one had tried yet (despite asking for more codes, naughty naughty) so got a Pixel 7 Obsidian 128GB for $749 delivered! :D

            • +1

@JownehFixIT: ๐Ÿ‘. I just got it yesterday, next day delivery :). Rang officeworks and cancelled the click and collect no questions asked easy done.

              • @SuperLate: Next day, damn! Store ETA said Wednesday/Thursday for my Friday order.

  • What are used Samsung S21's going for on marketplace these days?

Anyone that moved from Samsung to Google care to comment on usability and features?

    • I switched from Samsung s4 to a pixel 1 and have never looked back!

It was full of bloatware, couldn't uninstall stuff and they had a custom ui and I just wanted stock everything & fast updates.

      Pixel 1, 3, 5 and thinking about a 7

      • +1

Have had several Samsung, Nokia (i.e. Android One/vanilla experience), and Pixels over the years. Currently on an S21 and have to say, Samsung have really upped their game in recent years with the bloatware.

That said, still not as good as getting a Pixel if you want the pure experience.

    • +1

I moved from Google to Samsung. Bloatware isnt that bad anymore. The key difference was build quality. Small things such as the choice of glass on the older pixel models meant that I would crack the phones with very small drops. I've been using the s21 without a case for two years with multiple drops without any issues. Won't be going back to pixels.

      • Ahh good point re: build quality.

I've had my S21 in a soft case and still with the original screen protector and I must say it's been pretty sturdy with no damage after many many drops.

It's been flung onto tiles, concrete, etc and not even a scratch on the screen protector.

      • I recently dropped my s20fe, about a metre from pocket to ground, and the screen decided to die.
Luckily still have an older s8 as a backup that is still going strong.

  • +1

    Thanks OP. Got one.

  • +8

Now where's that 7 pro deal at?

  • Hey @thugmander91 , what are your thoughts on these pixel phones?

    • -6

stay away from pixel phones. Mine blew up the first day. battery busted, returned for a full refund and luckily didn't lose anything important.

      • +1

        ahahahaha what have i done

        • Don't know why so much neg comments here. Previous deals had people praising pixel phones. We can always return during warranty period if any major issue.

        • You should be ashamed of yourself…. Can't speak for new pixels but my 4a 5G hasn't skipped a beat and unless you need flagship chipset grunt then they are great.
If photos are the most important feature for you then these are towards the top of the list at half the price of the samsungs/apples of the world…

I personally will be getting a pixel again when I need to replace this one..

      • Your pixel phone here was sending data and uploading photos so you returned it. Is this exploding one the same phone or you went back and bought another?

  • -8

stay away from pixel phones. Mine blew up the first day. battery busted, returned for a full refund and luckily didn't lose anything important.

The pixel 6A is by far the most rip off phone in the history. $500 for a choppy 60hz display.

    • +3

As a counterpoint - I've had the original Pixel XL, Pixel 2XL, Pixel 3XL and Pixel 7 Pro. All of them have been flawless, with the exception of the 3XL which had a modem issue and was replaced without fuss under warranty. To my knowledge, only the original Pixel XL has now died. The others were all passed on to friends, friends kids etc and all are still in operation.

2 of my family members have Pixel 3's, one has Pixel 6XL and another has a Pixel 7 Pro - all on my recommendation, and all working well.

    • +1

      Never happened

    • Yeah, but you upvote dodgy charger deals. The issue is more than likely a case of PEBKAC/DFU.

  • telstra had it for 749 last year

    • Harvey Norman had it for 749 just before the new year

      • it's obvious this phone is worth all of 749 don't over pay.

  • Have been waiting for the Motorola Edge 30 Pro to come down. Or maybe waiting for Ultra to be slashed.

Do I get this or wait?

    • +2

      Id wait.

No sd card, from a company that killed a big chunk of their "Google Drive" service (no desktop client anymore).

      Battery stayed small-ish on a 6inch+ device.

About the only big pro from a Pixel is that ability to run GrapheneOS.

A mate just got the G82, and loves it, im really tempted by a midranger this time…

    • +1

I had a Motorola Edge 30 (similar build quality to Pro/Ultra?). Great phone to use, light, smooth, good screen & software, camera okay (not as good as competitors) etc.

However, the build quality is way too weak and flimsy (very cheap plastic materials used).

I had the phone in my pocket and got hit in the side while playing bumper cars (my fault however did not think it would be an issue).
The phone bent towards the bottom, into a banana shape with the stock case. Chassis and screen were compromised with artifact lines on screen (no longer usable and non-responsive touch screen). Fortunately, I could plug an OTG usb mouse to recover my data as phone was still working, just screen and body totally compromised.
Something to keep in mind with midrange Motorola phones, flimsy and weak build quality as a tradeoff for being lightweight.

I suspect the iPhone 14 brick would have survived a situation like this with its weight and build quality.

EDIT: Quick search and looks like the Edge 30 is entirely plastic build, Edge 30 Pro has glass back but plastic frame, and the Edge 30 Ultra has glass back and aluminum frame.
The price of the Ultra it is a different price category compared to the regular Edge so may be stronger but good to keep in mind (get a strong case haha).

Personally, I'm considering the Pixel 7 and probably will upgrade to the iPhone 15 Pro when it comes out end of the year with USB C connection.

  • If only it had the pixel 7 pro camera!

When oh when will they stop gating the good stuff, behind crap curved screens?

    • +1

      Definitely this.

Some people prefer a small phone, others prefer a larger phone.

But why are the best cameras all on the larger phone? ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

      • It's more the curved for me - I don't mind large (6.6 for me at most tho)

  • How do you price match at the Google store? If so could you stack with 10% student beans coupon?

    • via online chat.

    • They will refund the difference once you make a purchase and then contact them via live chat.

Cannot stack with 10% off student discount - I mean you could you a code, but they'll only refund the difference of what's left for the price match.

I'd suggest you get JB to match, and then use discounted gift cards to save more

  • Thanks op. Got one

  • Looking at this to replace my oneplus nord but 128gb isn't enough and 256gb is too expensive :(

    • +1

I can't stand how they dropped support for SD cards. Stops me from upgrading my S20 FE.

  • Dual sim?

    • +2

New phones these days have eSIM compatibility as well as physical - so essentially everything is dual sim.
