Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: Bonus $800 Trade-in, $250 Voucher for Tablet, Watch, Buds, Accessories & $124 Samsung Care+ @ Samsung

1430

Got an email explaining normal $500 trade-in bonus is now $800 with customer coupon code. Code looks unique so probably targeted.

Already got my S23 for a good price using Harvey Norman deal, so I don't need another one!

Mod: If you have any codes to spare, please add them to the Code Giveaway Megathread. No code requests in the comments (in this or the giveaway thread).

Can only see 500. Where is it mentioned 800?

    • Can anyone share the code if they are not gonna buy it pls

      • i assume the bonus youre referring to is the trade-in bonus

        Get a bonus $500 with trade-in3.
Plus, $250 instant eVoucher1 to expand your Galaxy Ecosystem.
        And 50% off Samsung Care+ 4.
        Offer ends 29 Mar 23. T&Cs apply.

You will need to trade in a phone to get the additional $500 on top of the offer, this deal started yesterday, on the 13th it was still listed as $300 bonus trade-in

As for the $250 evoucher to use in the store on the same transaction to expand your galaxy ecosystem, the price may varies depending on which portal you're in so you'll need to decide which portal is better for you

example, on the normal samsung.com/au store there is the galaxy buds live from $250 down to $149 that you can use towards your evoucher but from a partnership portal it is still listed as full price

        • +1

It's a targeted email that increases the trade in bonus to $800 (up from the $500 you mention) with a unique code.

        • would you mind please sharing the code thanks ?

    • Secret Gerry affiliate?

      • Yeah , just for you !

    Lets be honest.
Its overpriced by $500 to begin with

    • +2

      Like all phones ….

  • Code is unique

    Snip of email: https://ibb.co/zGGjKHc

Waiting on friend, if he doesn't want it I will share my code.

  • +5

P.s. tried stacking it with Education portal, but no dice!

    • Was gonna ask that, thanks for letting us know

  • +2

Samsung Tab A8 is still invalid for trade-in at the moment

  • is the $60 for not returning the trade in device still the only consequence I will pay?

    • -1

I think they got on top of that ages ago.

      • +1

you mean I will be charged $800 or ?

        • -4

You'll need to check the terms in the trade-up app.

          • -2

@chrisandrew: Why would someone downvote this comment?

Refering someone to the terms is better advice than pretending i have all the answers.

        • -3

I'm pretty sure the last 2 that I did I got clawed back the bonus amount.

          Was months later! Dogs!

          • @iWan: they charged back the bonus amount too? not just the trade-in value & fee?

        • you'll pay what they valued your trade-in phone/device at

    • Youll also lose the trade in value of the phone as well. They now take the money out of your account and refund it to you once they receive it. If you dont send it back you pay for the trade in value plus the 60 bucks

      • got it, sounds ok, my tablet (a7) is worth only $10, so $70 however if I understand it right that $10 will anyway be taken off the purchase price so probably not loosing that. Ok, I think I will give it a shot, thank you

p.s. that's why I don't want to send it back, working tablet no matter how slowish/oldish is still worth more than $10 :)

        • +3

You could save $60 by giving them a debit card with only $10 and don't bother send it to them, or just cancel the card afterwards. Asurion is really dodgy now so best to protect yourself against their incompetency down the track.

          • @lgacb08: Exactly!

          • @lgacb08: How do you do this? Is there a temporary debit card you can buy, then burn?

            • @mandelbrot: The tradeup app will only accept a credit card. Only option is to "lose" your credit card and request for a new one so they can't charge you the $60. Not sure if they refer to debt collectors though.

      • So no bonus value if we don’t send in device?

      • So you lose the trade in value + $60 but not the $800 bonus credit?

    • Only got charged $30 fot not returning my broken Note 8

      • was this just recently or from a previous deal?

        • During pre order

  • +7

It's for the Ultra, not the rest of the line. They also dropped in trade-in value on my S22 256GB by $125 since last time I looked.

    • +2

Yep, only for the S23U not S23/S23+. Title needs adjusting.

  • +4

Careful atm, i have just added the ultra + buds and even though its saying i have used part of the $250 e voucher when checking out its still adding the price of the buds

    • hopefully it'll get solved soon!

  • Does the S21 have battery issues? Like low …battery life?

    • -1

nah i own one, like 3 years later the bat is still decent (lots of youtube and music) i charge it once a day sometimes every second day if work kicks off and i dont use it much

    • -1

Yes s21 ultra battery sucks now. Cant even play games it over heat

    • +1

Longevity is impacted by how you use and charge your phone, and whether its exposed to extreme temperatures.

Limiting max charge, charging in short bursts, and utilising slower charging methods will all aid in maximising battery longevity.

In terms of screen-on time, the S21 Ultra should be plenty sufficient for most people.

  • +3

    $800 off the S23 would've been nice

    • Agreed! Phones are so overpriced for the minor charges year on year.

  • Damn, Samsung phones always drop in value extremely quickly after launch.

  • +5

I just chatted the online support and they said it is a known issue currently where the instant $250 evoucher is not working and cannot be applied to the cart. so if you do plan on using a code you may need to hold off for a bit. or at least make sure its being applied when you checkout

    • Yeah I selected Galaxy Buds 2 and a case but only the case went down to a price of 0.

  • What was the Harvey Norman Deal? Must of missed that one :(

  • +1

me pls. after trade in whats the max amount off for s23 ultra

  • Do $50 newsletter codes still stack?

    • -1

It should. That $50 should work on almost anything over $350

      • It's not working for me.

    • No. Not working on S23 series

  • -1

Spare code plz any ozbargainers thx

  • Anyone seen these S23 deals on FB Marketplace that look to good to be true?

    • +3

If it's too good to be true on FB marketplace, it usually is…

    • Sooo many scammers on marketplace atm. Difficult to buy or sell stuff atm in my experience.

    • its from people that work in Telcos - we get 1 code that gives us 50% off S23 line

  • +10

I want to buy it, but it's still way overpriced.

    With the following:

    $500 S23 Ultra trade bonus
    +
$300 S23 Ultra bonus trade bonus (this offer)
    +
    $295 S21 Ultra trade in

    = $1095 discount.

With the S23 Ultra starting at $1949 for 8GB/256GB, and the minimum I'd get being $2249 for 12GB/512GB, it is still over a grand out of pocket for me to trade.

These numbers look the same as the pre-order deal where there was the 'free storage upgrade', IE 12GB model for $1949.

It's still not good enough for me to buy. With the Xiaomi 13 Pro released/releasing globally, and the Ultra too apparently, Samsung should probably sharpen up their deals.

    I'll post my code later.

    • +1

This is leaving out the $250 eVoucher (when it starts working). Also more economical to cop the $60 Asurion fee and sell the old phone privately.

      • +2

That e-voucher is only for a selection of Samsung products, some of which require additional payment, can be found elsewhere for cheaper, but mostly are ones which I don't need/don't want/have already. You are right that I haven't included that in the calculations though because I see it as a product gift and not a discount. Now, if Samsung allowed that $250 to be applied to the phone purchase, I could probably be swayed to buy.

        • +1

That is fair, but at the very least you can resell the product you get with the eVoucher and recoup some of the value.

          • +2

@Quppa: That's definitely the OZB way but a hassle I don't want these days.

    • Yikes i checked the other week s21 ultra was $500

      • now its 380 showing

      • ya note 20 ultra is now only $230

    • +1

      Completely agree.

The trade-in values can be found here.

So the trade-in from a S22 Ultra 12GB/256GB currently on sale at JB for $1949 is only $605. If I want to move to the next year eqv model 12GB/512GB (no 256 at 12) the sums are:

      $2249 - $1405 (made up of $500+$300+$605) = $844.

That's a no deal from me, big time. I like my S22 Ultra 12GB/256GB and given the way this is going and the small upgrade, I will stick with it for the next 2 years AND be perfectly happy. i would have thought my gorgeous phone would have a much higher and realistic residual value encouraging someone like me to upgrade up. Clearly not.

  • Samsung website is not accepting my Trade-in ID. Is anyone facing same issue?

    • same, on call with support

      • I was told that try later tonight.

    • Yep same, messaged the online chat and they're looking into it apparently

    • +1

Samsung, you've done it again! lol

    • It happened to me at launch. It might have been cause I cancelled my last trade in, and Samsung flags the IMEI number

I chatted many times with Samsung and waited for days, and it never worked for me

    • Did you get this to work? I just tried a S10 and it isn't accepting the code.
Was just on chat support and seems like the error is still around and they havent solved it and I was told try later today

  • +2

So we are back to what it costed during pre-order of s23 ultra 512 version.

    $1449 plus other accessories

    • yep

      • +1

Actually slightly worse. Bonus care was free then

  • can't even sign in on samsung website
i want to see why i didnt get sent a code

  • +1

FYI there has been an issue with inputting your Trade ID for old phones upon checkout, this has been down for the last 3 days, don't get too excited…

    • +1

Try proceeding without trade and enter it on the checkout page

      • No luck, gettin this error
"This Trade ID can only be used for Mobile. Trade IDs must be used on products in the same product category. Please exit and select an associated product."

        • I had that error when tried to trade in watch for a phone.

Hopefully they will fix it soon

          • @abs898: But mine is a note 8, not a watch

        • Getting same error

        • same error, mine is a pixel 7

        • I'm getting the same response. I'm ready to buy but this is soo frustrating! Have you had any luck yet?

    • If you not gonna use it, i would love if u share 😁 , thanks

  • +2

Stupid Samsung trade-up system, tried 2 different Trade ID still says "This Trade ID can only be used for Mobile. Trade IDs must be used on products in the same product category. Please exit and select an associated product."

  • This Trade ID can only be used for Mobile. Trade IDs must be used on products in the same product category. Please exit and select an associated product. Getting this error

    • Did you try to trade in a device that you traded but never sent in?

      • No. First time

    • Yeah same error, what a waste of time.

  • +2

Ends in 14 days, probably best to wait if it goes on sale during that time, then stack with code

  • Tried a few different online chat agents and got nothing

  • anyone know if they accept trade in for water damaged phone, phone died and won't turn on
