1 Year Accor Plus Explorer Membership Family and Friends A$199 @ Accor Australia

3070

Saw the deal via Hong Kong

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/767946?page=1

Saw in comments there's a $199 deal for family and friends but the link didn't work for me so I contacted live chat and they gave me a link that worked for me. I thought it deserved it's own deal as the benefits as stated by commenter included keeping your Accor points plus no need for VPN, no currency conversion plus it's about $10 cheaper.

Accor Plus Explorer benefits include one free night accommodation, 50% off dining when there's two people, access Red Room 50% off deals and silver status

EDIT: Thanks to @vbhaven I logged on to cashrewards in mobile browser, then earched Accor, followed the link, then copy and pasted the link from this deal and it tracked. 7%. Good luck!

Thanks, whoever negged you doesn't seem to agree with you though!

  • My Accor Plus ends in June…
Anyone have advice on if I should double up now?

I got mine through the Fiji link and got it last year for $250. It should be closer to $220 at renewal in June.

    Thoughts?

    • +1

Probably not worth the hassle for the small difference (especially considering future renewal via the Australia deal is likely to be at close to full price).

    • Fiji’s price has gone up to 575FJD since Feb 2023 🥲

    • +1

      Oh… now I am really confused…

    • Ok! So, I reached out to the Fiji team and asked them what my renewal fee would be in June. Apparently will be FJ$312. Approx. $210-$220.

      • Meanwhile I reached out to the Fiji contact who says "$550fjd" …..
        Maybe I am black-listed?

is anyone else getting this error

Error: ErrCode (1010) : Database Connection Error to update Orders."?

    • I am getting the same error at the payment screen.

    • +1

I had the same issue. You need to log out to proceed but use the same email as your previous account.

  • does it include fiji in late june and south korea in august?

  • Would someone be able to check if there’s availability in Surfers Paradise for the 3rd June 2023? Much appreciated!

  • Could someone please check free nights in Tokyo 11-13 and 19-21 May, Osaka 13-17 May, Kyoto 17-19 May? Thanks a lot!

      • +1

Forgot to really thank you the other day @SomeBooy! You are a gem. I took up the membership and now I'm excited for Mercure Ginza!

        • No problem at all, have fun in Tokyo!

Accor has partnership with Qantas. Qantas will give you instant 100 points if you link you Accor with Qantas.

    • +2

      $1 free!

      • Every OzBarginer needs $1 free for the next deal ;)

  • +1

No free night in Tasmania ??

    • +2

Yes there were 2-3 of each in Devonport, Launceston and Hobart.

    • +1

If you are going to Hobart there are some good deals with Red Hot Rooms. I’m looking at Movenpick 4 nights for $508 in late August.

  • Could someone please check for me availability in Sydney on 5/5? Thank you!

    • +1

There are a lot of ibis, Pullman Hyde Park, Sofitel Wentworth, (Sofitel Darling Harbour is not available, later Fridays it is), Mantra on Kent, Mantra Bond St, Mercure Wynyard, Swissotel, Novotel Darling Harbour, Novotel Central

Plus locations next to airport, Manly, Brighton, Parramatta, etc etc.

Some of the rooms have two double beds, so in essence, you could have four people stay in one room.

      • Awesome, thanks so much!

  • Does the 50% off apply at frenzy’s Southport buffet?

    • +1

I just searched and Frenzy's is on the list. You might want to call them up to double check before buying, though.

      • I am also interested with this. Can you please let us know when confirmed. Thank you.

  • Where can i find dine in list? Do i need to stay there to get 50% off? Also, is it multiple times 50%?

    • Keen to know this too.

      • Keen to know this also - do you have to stay at the hotel to access the 50% discount or can you just rock up at the restaurant and access the discount without being a guest at the hotel?

        • No need to stay at the hotel - we use the 50% off a lot at the city hotels when we have a show, etc.
There is no limit to the number of times you can use the discount.

        • Definitely no need to stay there. I've been to many hotels only to eat.

  • Has anyone maneged to get this to work for a renewal?? I'm due but it says my email address is already in use.

    • From a previous comment, they bought the deal then after payment, they used their existing email and linked up. If in doubt, call up or use live chat so you have it in writing.

  • This is great - just renewed! Thanks for the deal!

  • Would have jump on this before but after signing up with ihg I find their hotels better for me

    • a free night is a free night…. are you an ihg shill?

      • Just giving my opinion lol. Not everyone giving a positive comments on something they like is a shill. It's also not a free night if you are paying $199 for it.

  • Hi, could someone please check availability in Sydney city or Sydney International Airport for 20 August 2023 for me please? (Pullman Quay Grand Sydney would be nice!). Thank you.

    • +1

ibis Sydney Airport, Pullman Sydney Airport, Novotel Sydney International Airport - a few in the CBD but no Pullman Quay Grand Sydney

  • Hi all, could someone check the 29th April for Sydney City please. Would require 2 beds. Many thanks

    • +1

Mecure Sydney Wynyard has 2 singles

Bought the deal but on a tight criteria: 5 people and needing school holidays. Anyone with such experience and made good use of free night or hotel deals? I also have Citibank 4th night free deal.

    • School holidays is usually blackout period AFAIK

      • Thanks. Maybe just a staycation would do.

  • OK I've done it! But to be honest I'm not sure I will get great value out of it.
However I will be travelling to Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Singapore soon. Would anyone care to recommend restaurants in these places where I could get 50% discount on a meal for two?
Thanks to anyone who bothers to reply.

    • +1

I emailed all of the ones located near the hotel I was staying at in Bangkok & I think they all had 50% off for two guests.
La Vie (in Vie Hotel) & Medici Kitchen (in Hotel Muse) in Bangkok were both excellent.

  • Thanks Gaz1, that's a good start!

  • (deleted -got my availability answer by asking support)

  • Can you book beyond your expiry period? E.g. book for September 2024 if I'm expiring in April 2024.

  • Anyone from Sydney knows which hotel out of these ones give the best view of the bay/city? Leaning towards Mantra 2 on Bond for the rooftop pool and view but the room view was against a brick wall…

    Mantra 2 on Bond
    Mantra on Kent
    Mercure Wynyard
    Pullman Hyde Park
    Sofitel Wentworth
    Swissotel
    Harbour Rocks Hotel

    • Sofitel Darling Harbour gives the best view.

  • +1

Anyone know how to view the Red Room 50% off deals? I do not seem to find this option at all.
    Thanks

    • Have you tried on the app? The Red Rooms appears on the app as soon as you open it

  • Would someone be kind enough to tell me if there's any free booking available Friday 28th April in Melbourne CBD. Staying in any reasonable hotel (currently have a booking Mantra 100 exhibition). Thank you!

  • +1

I paid last night and no conf email or debit from my account. I spoke to accor on the phone who advised this offer is apparently only for their friends or family and the "hack" wont be honored.

Was I meant to create a new account and not use my existing Accor email? Gah painful. Thanks!

At ozbargain, aren’t we all friends and family ?

  • Any destinations in Europe have free nights?

  • +1

Was anyone able to purchase secondary membership via the AUS link? Some have reported the option to purchase secondary membership via the HK or NZ link for $30.

    • Secondary membership doesn't come with free night stay, right?

      • Yes it doesn't - they only dining discount.

    • How can I find the link to purchase secondary membership? I can’t find it

  • Has anyone used their restaurant benefit for takeaway food? Not sure if it'll work cause it says dining in but worth a shot?

    • I was wondering this as well. Might have to callceachr venue you wanna use it at to check.

      • I called up a venue, they said we have to dine in but can take away food if it's not finished.

  • Currently on the fence for this but it seems worth if it you intend on travelling quite a bit over this year.

Does anyone know if the free hotel is by calendar year?

    • It's 12 months starting 30th of April

      • So is it only 1 free night by membership year then?

        • Yes, you must stay before your annual membership renews or expires.

  • Would anyone be able to check what hotels are available for the free stay in Singapore for 30th July (1 night)? Would be much appreciated, thanks!!

  • I signed up on Friday evening and received a confirmation email with my payment reference, but haven’t received anything further. Has anyone else not received login details etc?

    • Try logging in with the email address you provided & use forgot password.

    • +1

when i logged into the app i think it got activated.

    • +2

      https://www.accorplus.com/about/faqs/

After joining, when can I use my membership?
New memberships take 2 business days to process. After processing has occurred, you will then receive a confirmation email which prompts you to activate your membership. You can then download the Accor hotels App, log in to your account and access your digital card

Mine went through straight away because I previously had an Accor account (not Plus). I signed my mum up and hers hasn't come through either.

      • +1

Okay thanks that’s good to know (tried the password reset option but still didn’t receive a response). Hopefully activated early this week.

        • Yeah, same. Mum's account isn't receiving any emails from Accor, whether the initial account setup, reset password, or MFA verification (from the app).

          • @zzyss: Did your mum end up getting her login details? I still haven’t received anything yet.

            • @Toeboy: No, not yet as of last night, although she's travelling at the moment so won't touch base again for a few days.

            • @Toeboy: So I ended up contacting Accor. I think my problem was that I used their stupid Pay in 4 payment, so it didn't go through. Support said that my registration was missing the "heartist number" (something like an employee ID since this was supposed to be a staff friends and family offer). They weren't able to activate it for me since the promo is expired.

Silly me. Should've just paid for it.

  • +1

Ended up signing up for the Malaysian deal.
    2 nights.
No issues with Sofitel Sydney availability for one of the nights needed. $450 per night so memberships already paid for itself pretty much and have yet to redeem the second night

    • Could you book consecutive days?

    • Where is the link for this deal?

    • Were you able to book consecutive nights using the app?
