      • I forgot about the squeeze feature, that was pretty neat.

Thanks for the link. I've been meaning to set up my pixel 1 for that but never got around to it.

  • Looks like 256gb in Black is on back order now

  • +1

I activated a $2 prepaid sim but it still says not eligible for the offer because i dont have a service.

    • Thanks for reporting back. I guess you could get the plan and then cancelling it later.

  • Dang. I bought a Pixel 4A in December (for half-price), still getting security updates. Had this in mind for my next phone in mid-24, for about $450-500. Thoughts and prayers people

    • +2

4a is a great phone, I love the rear fingerprint sensor.

      • Agreed. And when I bought it, no guarantee of updates past March 23, but I got one two weeks ago. It has gained Magic Eraser as well!
No need to change but that P7 deal is mega

  • I've got a Poco F3 with LineageOS. I will never play a game on a phone and I'm not interested in taking photos. I'm tempted but is there any sane reason for me to buy this?

    • +4

It is cheap and with more than 500 ozbargain votes

    • Have Poco F3 aswell and same with games/photos. Tempted but will stick with the Poco abit longer

      • I had a poco f3, upgraded to this

        • Stop tempting me ha

        • What does it do sufficiently better than the F3 that you have noticed?

  • +1

Thanks! Been waiting for a cheap deal to replace my Pixel 5 so pulled the trigger. Support until 2027 as well!

I reckon this was cheaper than my Pixel 5 back when I bought it!

  • Say we have to stay connected for 36 months to get the max discount?

    • You can buy outright without a plan

  • Wow, had to jump on this. I was tempted by the Pixel 7 Pro for under $1000 but didn't pull the trigger, but $564 for the 256GB Pixel 7 is too good to pass up. The old Note 10+ isn't guaranteed any security updates after September.

  • 256 gb or 128 gb?

    • +3

~$60 more for double storage, I say do it.

Only issue is 256gb is only for Obsidian black

    • +2

128, save your cash, thats more than enough

  • +4
    • +6

The stress ball is the real bargain

    • Does OW do pricematches online or is this restricted to walk-ins?

    • lucky you. I have been told NO

    • +2

and you paid using giftcard .. you bastard :)

  • +1

Had unused points so got the 256GB for $444. Great timing as I unfortunately smashed the screen on my $200 G82 last week.

    Thanks OP

    • How did you use telstra points?
I have a few points but do not get the option at checkout, only option is CC.

      • +1

Go to the rewards store, not via the link OP posted.

  • Both JB hifi and Officeworks denied price match. May be better to go in store and find a newbie employee

    • Yes, OW will not match

      • based on above if you go in store you may have a chance

        • +1

Was able to price match on bondi store

    • Pretty sure they need to get a manager to approve it anyway

      • ^this - manager required to approve “big price match”

  • This or Samsung s23?

    • Very different price points.

  • +1

Just tried to price match on JB live chat. Reponse from sales was
"we have told everyone no today
ive told about 50 people no same as everyone in the office
telstra is also on a backorder"

    • +9

Then tell the grouch to put it on their socials and website if they're tired of saying no to everyone.

Sick of these grumpy grouchy poos promoting price matching and then being annoyed when you ask.

    • Backorder is better than paying $400+ more. I don't think they sell too many of them at $999.

    • +1

How do they know its on backorder. Sounds fishy

  • +1

Would this be a good upgrade from Huawei Mate 20 Pro ?

  • My partner also grabbed the JB deal with gift card, not too bad to avoid the Telstra headaches.

So whats the best way for a non-Telstra customer to snag this? JB have advised they wont price match. Is the $2 SIM a deal or a regular offer?

  • I wonder how much stock Telstra has!! Still not out of stock!!

    • Obsidian 256gb is on back order

      • Both 128GB and 256GB for Obsidian are now on back order

      • Bought it last night. I was so pissed off to see that message this morning.

  • WOW!

  • +1

Cheers OP, grabbed a 128GB Snow, hopefully I can flip my S22 for a couple hundred and it's a damn cheap upgrade.

    • Wait this is an upgrade over s22?

      • To be honest, it's marginal, but I kind of miss my Pixel 3 even if its 3GB of RAM was frustrating.

        Plus, shiny!

        • Seems like a waste of money to me tbh. S22 is doing great for me still

          • +1

@essent1al: Possibly, but also fresh warranty, if I can get $250 for my S22, it's a $250 upgrade and I get to be rid of OneUI again.

  • Would this serve as a good replacement for an s21 ultra?

    • im keeping the S21U, still ticks all the boxes for me.

I did buy this for my wife who is currently using a Pixel 5. Should be a decent upgrade to that hopefully.

bought the black in 256gb on backorder, wonder how long i'll be waiting

    • Wouldn't have thought so.

  • I got in 30 minutes after this deal was posted and received a text this morning saying my order is on backorder. Kind of annoying

    • +1

      256GB Obsidian?

I just ordered and it was on back order.
      Ozbargained.

I doubt there's much of a shortage of stock so I don't think we'll be waiting long.

  • If I have a sim which is using telstra network but not telstra sim itself will it still work?

  • +2

OW matched me in store, YMMV, worth a try!

    • +2

Ow just matched mine in store and price beat so got for $475

    • You got very lucky, my store told me they won't Price match/price beat because you need a Telstra account for it .

  • Just confirming ?
This is Dual SIM, eSIM + nano SIM?

    • That's correct.

  • Contacted Jb Hifi via chat and they refused to match price. So bought it from Telstra with free shipping.

    • do you have Telstra plan? I have an account but no active plan and it refused to let me buy. Can only be bought with a plan.

      • What's it saying?

I bought one last month with no active plan without issue, but today it's telling me I have to take 3 forms of ID to a Telstra store!

      • I had telstra broadband many years ago. Since then I am with Boost and my Telstra id is still active. Dont have any active Telstra Plan. Nothing is shown in my account.

  • I got an error at checkout and Telstra are saying to me only small business or existing post paid customers are eligible for the outright discount. I have a personal pre paid service. Anyone else have issues like this?

    • I am prepaid, was able to order

    • I have boost pre paid and was able to order

  • Hmm, It's asking me for more ID. I was able to order one for $699 a month ago, but now I get this:

    We need more ID

We're unable to process your order at this time.
For help placing an order, please bring the following to a Telstra store:
    Your driver's licence or passport
Two other forms of ID, such as a Medicare card, a valid credit card or birth certificate
Your proof of address (your lease agreement or purchase of land contract).

    • Yes it did ask me for ID as well, but I was able to verify online using driving license.

      • It's telling me I have to take ID to a Telstra store. Last time I was able to verify with the licence number that they already have on file

    • it has my medicare card on file but says it needs more
don't have drivers license's nor passport and cannot reach a telstra store
breaching four years with my pixel 4 xl was hoping upgrade but best wait another year
don't think upgrade is substantial enough, would love better camera but cannot really afford it anyways 🙃

  • Nice one OP great find

  • Jump on this or wait for the Google Store sale in 4 days?

    • Others have mentioned Google havent done 50% off since the 3XL, and even then that was only targeted to existing customers.

      • Google's 25th Anniversary Sale!

        wouldn't 3XL have been their 20th Anniversary?
don't think anyone cares much for anniversary's other than those divisible by 5

if it happens should stack with Google One 2TB plan for 10% credit in google store for free case or something

        • I'm hoping for this. Have a few hundred in Google credit from buying the pixel tablet

    • +1

Telstra store have got 7 days price match policy. So we can always claim the difference.

  • Also available on Telstra+ discounted. Pay with rewards points and plan free 12/24 monthly repayment options..

    • Link?

    • How might one become eligible for this deal using exclusively their phone? (E.g don't have any pre-existing services with Telstra?)

      • +1

Via Telstra Plus loyalty program is only for existing Telstra customers.

        • Sorry, I should've clarified I just meant for the regular deal that has been posted, not the one with Telstra Plus
