    • Yes I have. Lost the phone, and they reimbursed the full amount. Oops sorry, thought you meant the shopper's protection.

    • Yeah I have before.

  • Great deal!

  • Anyone else’s order going to back-order “waiting for stock” despite the website showing in stock

  • +1

    Just bought one 256gb

  • +3

thanks op. don't need it.. but 50% off ftw

  • -2

How does return policy work with Telstra, just in case there is change of mind?

  • +1

At a quarter of the price of what the 15 pro max will launch at and with my poco x3 starting to show signs of a degrading battery, this is very tempting. I was really tempted to move to apple given ive got airpods and a mac. Anyone got a pixel 7 that wants to share how they felt it performed?

    • I've got a pixel 6 and was planning on moving to some but this deal just sounds so sweet. Hmmm there's not much of an upgrade compared to the 6. My mum needs a new phone though so I might give her the 6

    • +2

I upgraded to the Pixel 7 last week from a Poco F1 that was running Lineage OS. My biggest concern was battery life as I heard that some users encountered bugs where the battery could drain pretty quickly overnight, but I haven't experienced anything like that. The battery isn't amazing but it lasts me 1-2 days depending on how much I game. Phone is snappy and the camera is a nice improvement. Home, app view and back navigation is gesture based and that takes some getting used to, but you can change it back to the 3 button layout.

      • +2

The gesture navigation is pretty good once you get used to it. I always forget about the buttons at the bottom when fixing my parents phones, then I feel like I'm going back in time

        • Oh yeah, definitely. I didn't like it at first but I've gotten used to it after a week. Now when I use my old phone it feels so ancient haha

  • +3

Checked YouTube reviews, and it is a ok and normal Android phone for $500, nothing too fancy.

This video shows how well/bad Genshin Impact runs on the device, also the camera footage seems VERY average. $500 is the max amount I'd like to pay for these specs. I hope it is an iPhone 13 or 14 sale ;-)

    • +3

The Pixel 7 has one of the best cameras on any phone, processing wise.

      • +4

That's only on pictures not video quality

        • -4

Pretty much every Android phone has crap video quality. iPhones are the only ones that do it well

  • Anyone able to purchase using points? Keeping getting an error at checkout.

    • Nope… Keep getting sent back to the home page when trying to finalize payment.

    • Just did it and it went through.

    • Had the same problem before but went through just now. Paid $360

      • +1

Thanks, it just worked for me too. Wasn't able to purchase outright because it wanted to verify my ID which I did a couple years back.

      • How many points is it ? I have 80k points but no active service

        • Around about 50,000 points.

  • Omg I bought the jb deal a few days ago for $799 with bonus $200 gc

    • Still pretty good only $100 difference.

    • Didn't open mine yet so it's going back now 🙌💸

  • Great phone, great price

  • Is it worth an upgrade from samsung s10+ to this ?

    • This because the updates on S10 are terrible and have bricked phones before and they probably stopped updates given the age

I got one of these and much faster

    • Still holding onto my S10 plus. Going strong after 4 years. However tempted to upgrade

      • Yeah, same with a s20.
But then it's working fine, still getting security updates. I can probably get the pro for that price in a few months.

  • Might be time to upgrade from my s21 at this price

  • Close to the 471 final price that I bought from 150 gc deal using 10% gc and 10% code.

    • +1

How did you pay through a GC?

      • Im assuming either a price match…?

    • Through JB?

    • -1

Pretty good price I got the pre-order deal $999 - $300 coupon, $100 JB hi-fi voucher, bonus Chromecast with Google TV 4K & Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen (sold the Google TV for $60 and hub 2 for$149).
Sold old pixel 5 for $350. Later 28d price protection claim JB hi-fi price error/banner $599.
Will put in another price protection $499.

      • I know you can just say it was Telstra without the Telstra ID requirement for price protection but if a membership is required and not easily purchased by everyone then would be rejected by pp being exclusive membership E.g like price matching through Costco

        But a buck is a buck 😄

        • They don't seem to mind besides i've got a telstra ID (Boost).
Will see how the claim goes, another $100 would be alright.

Ps. I know Office works doesn't honour Amazon Prime etc as it requires a membership.

          • @G-rig: Next Office works wouldn't price match because you are required to be living to purchase

            • @knobbs: Officeworks did pricebeat the pixel 5 from Telstra back in the day, it is luck of the draw though, same with JB.

  • Any way to get this price matched somewhere? Don't want to have to switch to a Telstra plan.

    • Get a $2 sim starter plan, activate it but never use it. And don't recharge it obviously.

  • -5

Personal, Moto Edge 30 Pro at $494 is a better deal, Snapdragon chips, higher refresh rate, only downside is it only have one sim card slot.

    • Yeah no eSim which is a bummer. The specs look good on the moto

    • This would beat the Motorola in other areas better software support and camera. I'd take this over Oppo any day.

    • -2

      Lol at Motorola and Nokia

  • Very tempting but my pixel 5 still going strong. Think i paid about the same price close to its initial release

  • +2

    Worth upgrading from LG V50?

  • +1

Same price in the Telstra Rewards store, so it can be cheaper again for anyone that can combine with points.

    How to get Telstra id?

  • +1

I don't need it but I want it.

    • +1

Ozbargain obligation buy first think later?

      • +1

        And regret later for sure…
Ask for forgiveness than permission from the mises

    • Wont get much cheaper, depends if you need a new phone and how average you old one is.

  • +1

maybe dumb question? is this network locked to Telstra?

    • +2

They don't really lock phones anymore but prepaid phones

      So no

      • +1

        Thanks for your quick response

  • +3

$0.16 cheaper if you pay it off over 12 months…

  • Anyone upgraded from mate 20 pro, worth it?

    • lol I posted the same question. Mate 20 Pro is great with triple camera set up - selfie is bad though. 40W super fast charging vs 20W on Google. Still Pixel is a new phone with Android 13. So tempted to upgrade man.

  • Wish this discount on pixel fold

    • +1

Is the pixel fold even coming to Australia?

      • Just googled, they didn't release in Australia yet, wtf

  • Anyone know from previous purchases if you get a tax invoice? Thanks!

    • +1

Yes, just received mine in my Telstra account

      • After logging into Telstra Account, how do you get Tax Invoice? Please let me know. Thanks.

  • +2

Google has their own anniversary sale starting from 8th August which the Telstra deal coincidentally ends on 7th August. Could Google possibly be coming out with a similar deal soon from the 8th and Telstra getting in front of it?

    • Or potentially even better deal from Google on the 8th?

  • Great deal. Too bad the Pro version isn't on special as well.

    • +1

Google Store might do a sale on their Pixel 7 Pro during their 25th anniversary

  • Is this worth upgrading from S20+?

  • Worth upgrading from a52s? I really don't need a fancy phone but this price is good

  • -1

It's crazy they want $550 to replace a screen on my 7 Pro, just ridiculous when phones are being sold this cheap!

    • Not crazy when you consider almost all high end amOLED screens on phones are expensive to repair. Most start from $300 up that's for apple, Samsung, oppo, etc. If they used LCD they would be way cheaper

      • +1

So what you're telling me? Basically the price of a screen is the price of a phone?

By the way, I got my Google Pixel 7 Pro 256 GB for $600 from Harvey Norman through the Opta still when you include the $150 gift voucher?!

So essentially you want me to pay to replace my screen for what I paid for the whole phone?? LOL

        • +2

You bought a phone on sale not rrp that Optus sale was a massive discount. Not sure what land you live in parts are expensive. Always been the case if you buy something put together it's always cheaper than in parts individually. Doesn't mean you have to buy the part just how the world works Im afraid. It's in all industries computers, and cars are also like this, best thing to do is look after your phone and try not to damage it maybe or get insurance.

          • -3

@Jmore1231: Bro, you can buy 42" tv screens for $550

            A phone screen?

            You got rocks

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: Is it oled?, I think you need some help mate get out your little delusional world. Ignorance is bliss as they say. Your comparing a whole tv to a phone why not compare an iPhone 14 screen replacement(similar priced flagship) to this hmmm same price I wonder why because of the OLED tech. It's a more involved manufacturing process and uses organic elements. That $420 tv you mentioned break the screen and find out how much it costs to fix the screen guarantee it'll be most of that $420 because it's how these industries work.

Enjoy your little world of entitlement I'm sure you'll figure out how the real world works one day. Peace out.

Worth upgrading from nokia 3310 Brick ?

  • Wow superb deal.

  • +1

Thanks for sharing, got one using my boost ID.

    • do you just sign into my telstra using your boost number?

      • Yes, don't need to sign up, just use the same boost credentials

    • Thank you good to know

  • How do you get Telstra id ? Is the phone unlocked?

  • +1

Why is it running a credit check when I'm buying outright?

I have a prepaid service with them.

Edit: Keep getting a Something went wrong issue. Anyone else?

    • Yup trying to buy outright

      • Getting the same thing here!

I no longer have any active services, but I didn't a month ago either when I ordered the Pixel 7 for $699

    • They want to verify my ID which I have used for their services before. Then it goes to fail saying You cant use this ID.
