Concrete jungle where dreams are made of.

  • +2

    I bought this for $800, 3 months later down to 560 🥲

    • +14

      He bought? Dump it!

      • RIP Bogdanoff

    • I noticed the same with Android phones, while iPhone remains rather steady. Good if you'd like to sell your old iPhone on marketplace

      • I sold my pixel 6 for a profit over FB market place after around 6 months of useage.

  • possible for delivery?

    • Yes free delivery

      • -1

Hpow? /I can only find click and collect

        • I added phone to cart, logged into my account and it said free delivery or click and collect in store.

  • +1

Awesome price! Got the 256GB. Cheers OP! Didn't even know I had a Tesltra ID….lol

    • You mean you forgot that you had one

  • Why does pixel only make the 256gb in black and not other colours?

    • +1

You're going to put a case on it, so does it matter?

      • +1

Clear case. I actually got the 7a cause I wanted the blue colour.

      • +1

Exactly. they are slippery buggars these phones, you're almost guaranteed to drop/smash it.
Annoying how they try and copy apple with an all-glass feel.

Clear cases show up the dust and lint pretty quickly (and go yellow over time) but can recommend the SPIGEN Ultra Hybrid Air Cushion Hard Slim Cover (from Pro Gadgets)

    • I have 128GB on my Pixel 5. Two yrs since I bought it, 70GB is free.

  • Damn, no Telstra ID!

    • get a $2 sim kit tomorrow

    • +1

U can get Telstra ID from using boost

      • Why is this downvoted? Is it not true?

        • Oops pressed the wrong button.

I've got a Boost 365 day sim and I just created a boost user ID (email address in my case)
I tested it for you and can log into the Telstra site so no dramas.

          • @G-rig: i am boost customer without boost/tesltra id yet. do they need drivers license and afdress details as well or just name and DOB and email?
hacks every day you know…try to limit data base entries that will increase hack/exposure chance. dont buy monero.

      • Can confirm. I just bought this and only have a boost account. My telstra ID didn't even show any services in it but it let me purchase.

        • I am the opposite, I also have boost but I can't buy using the linked Telstra ID.

      • Stupidly went to Catch.

  • Thanks op getting Optus to price match on live chat now on a 24 months recontract.

    • Any bonus for being with them for 24 months?
      Thanks

      • +22

If you forget your driver's license number, you can find it online.

    • +1

      Why a 2 year contract??
Just pick up a boost annual sim for like 250 bucks

      • +2

yes, I have the same question.
Not sure why I got neg :(

  • +1

Tempted to upgrade from my S20 fe 5g but what will I do with my existing 512gb sd card…

    • Is the pixel 7 better? I also own a s20 fe but wasn't sure if it's significantly better

      • +4

I would say yes it is significantly better. However everything I'm currently using my phone for the s20fe is capable of doing. Pixel 7 will just be better in every way.

        • +2

Except battery life and no SD card

        • Cheers!

        • Is it though? Genuinely innocent question as I'm super keen for this phone, but compared the S20FE with the Pixel 7 I couldn't see a massive improvement… https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=10377&idPhone…

Fewer cameras, lower screen refresh rate, but I'm guessing the CPU and GPU must be better?

Not sure what to do here, other than knowing that my current S20 FE is 3 years old and beginning to flag.

          • @Beefgrinder: I'm on the same boat. The S20FE is still a pretty good phone and there will be things that I will miss if I switched over to Pixel 7. I think if I'm going to the Pixel 7 Pro then it will be an easier decision.

            • @DumplingBoi: My plan is to wait for Pixel 8 and get it with preorder bonus just like I did with the S20FE.

I have 28D with price protection so I can claim when price drops.

    • +1

S23+ is a much better upgrade, speaking from experience. Maybe you could buy a dashcam for the SD card :P
      @High5

      • +3

But this is sub $500 XD

        • +2

Wellll… It was available for $766 and I think it was worth the premium. Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 runs so silky smooth, just like I remember the FE 5G first being. I reckon Samsung is the go for the long haul (longer battery life, more efficient chip, longer software support). I would still love Pixels if they stuck with Snapdragon, I got my mum the P3 and P5 and my sister a 4a.

      • Thanks for your thought mate!

    • Wait for a Switch deal?

  • +4

Refusing to let me purchase, asking for ID for an outright purchase.. what the hell?

    • +3

Not sure why the hell I got two negs, I can't buy because they need to verify my ID for an outright purchase. How the hell is that neg-worthy?

      • +1

Yeah Optus pull the same crap. These jokers should cop a nice fat fine every time they force customers to provide ID without a valid reason, to fund the next cleanup after they're breached again.

      • Yeah I can't buy anything from them cause I only have a photo proof of age card, and there isn't an option to use that as ID (even though I used it as ID when signing up for my telstra plan…)

      • I’m only speculating but the neggers may have thought you were referring to it asking for your Telstra ID.

        • +1

I would prefer to think that they're not that dull

    • +1

Telstra ID is required to purchase

      • +1

        ID, identification document

    • They've revamped their internal user verification things recently. 2FA and the like.

Just bough this, I had to go and re-do ID and address details even though I have an existing plan and bought something from them like 3 months ago.

Seems overkill but I guess I'm already on their database

    • If you already have a service with us, you can buy outright without adding a plan.

looks like you need a plan, not just a telstra ID

    • Same here. Asking for an in person identification.

  • -7

Better to hold out for a similar price on the Pixel 7a?
(better cameras & 6 month longer update lifetime)

  • Gosh. Wish I didn't buy Oppo by trade in.

    • Why you think that?

    • -1

You got the better deal anyway…

  • +3

    Basic Plan 60 a month ???

    Robbery

  • +1

    Worth upgrading from Samsung s10e?

    • +2

this is the same boat I'm in :)

      • haha doesn't seem like a big upgrade on paper. great price though

        • How can you still live with the 10e's battery life? lol
Shame Samsung dropped that more interesting design. But the S23 is about the same size.

          • +1

@Techie4066: Battery is fine on mine…..lasts 2 days but I don't live on my mobile

    • +2

This is a much bigger phone assuming you originally bought the s10 e version for nice small size.
But yes this would be better as it's newer. Just Google S10e vr Pixel 7 for comparison.

    • You can also consider the Moto Edge 30 Fusion/Pro from JB for $494.

    • "Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10e are no longer eligible for Android security updates."

For that reason alone. Yes, it's worth it

  • +3

Just to note that Google is celebrating their 25th anniversary on Aug 8, that’s right after this promo ends. The deal may or may not be mirrored

    • I think better to hold until their anniversary discounts as i reckon they can be clubbed with the maps contribution rewards. But if a pixel 7 is available at this price,it is a gamble. So confused rn

      • The email says it won't stack with other promotions…

      • I dont know who this salty guy is,handing negs all over the place 😂😂😂

    • +1

Don't think Google has ever had 1/2 phone deals or better on their site

      • The last time they did was in 2019 where they sent targeted codes to promotions subscribers for 50% off the Google Pixel 3

      • Yes pixel 3xl went for half price 750$, got one then and every second gen (skip the even numbers).

Don't think people are realistic thinking hoping it will go for less than half price.

  • +1

    Does officeworks pricebeat this?

    • +1

I don't think so as you have to be a Telstra member, always worth trying anyway

      • I tried just now, no luck.

        • Stuff them then.
Try JB or get a boost sim

    • -1

They do. I did that before.

    • Got flatly rejected by Officeworks Mentone because it's "not freely available to everyone"

      • +1

Just to confirm guys,i was successfully able to price beat at officeworks,474.53$ was the final price, stacked it with gift card and will take a tax refund on the way home. Deal of the century. On top of it,bought the gift cards on coles mastercard

        • +1

          Marry me

        • +1

Whosoever has a problem in price beat, they can visit officeworks bondi, this is where i got the price beat

        • Tax refund on way home?

    • The last time I tried this with a pixel 4, they rang Telstra and the silly Telstra employee said it was locked so they wouldn't give me the price match. I bought it from Telstra and it was unlocked.

    • Try two OWs, they said need Telstra members so can not do PB, no luck.

  • Why no half price on the 7 Pro lol?

    • +5

      Why not 100% off lol

      • +1

Why stop there? They should pay me to use their product.

  • +1

Anyone successfully claimed price protection from 28 degrees on these Telstra ID deals?
