Hi Folks,

We have the high tier 7500F 4080 deal back up for grabs, this time with a different motherboard.

We have been hearing from suppliers to expect a price jump coming, so best to get in before the prices rise.

  • AMD Ryzen 5 7500F processor (7600X, 7700X and 7900 upgrades available)
  • GeForce RTX 4080 16GB (PNY currently on hand and likely throughout this deal)
  • AMD B650M Motherboard (Gigabyte or equivalent currently in use)
  • 16GB Kingston Fury RGB DDR5 RAM (stacks on hand for this deal, upgrades available))
  • 1TB Gen 4 NVMe m.2 SSD (currently Crucial P3, will be this or equivalent)
  • 750W 80 Plus Gold (Mostly Giga and some Inwin on hand at present, specify if you like in Order notes and we'll cater if we can)

Cheers,
Caleb & Luke

    Alrighty - comparison time

This Techfast 4080 build for $2379 or Nebula's RTX 4070 build for $1738?

    Loving this healthy competition!

    • +2

Looks like the price difference is essentially just the video card. 4070 $900 4080 $1700

      • wowee double price jump for just the next card in series

        • Dunno man. That's what it says. 1440p vs 4k gaming I think??

          • -2

@Naigrabzo: even 3070 could do 4k. it's all the question of graphic quality

            • @shabaka: Maybe that's it. You pay double for graphic quality etc.

        • There's a 4070ti between them.

  • +2

"We have been hearing from suppliers to expect a price jump coming, so best to get in before the prices rise"…

even more reason not to buy tbh and hold another generation. Why would NVIDIA price gouge an already poorly received and apparently worse selling generation of cards.

Anyone already on 30 series hardware should essentially skip upgrading to this gen. Anybody on older series is better off upgrading to 3rd gen mid tier like 3060ti.

I think they talking about the AUD going lower hence all parts going up. (RBA importing inflation as they arent raising rates inline with other countries which is lowering the value of our currency.)

    • +1

Agree I'm holding off, companies are trying to manage cashflow anticipating a slowdown in spending. Let them raise prices and watch sales drop further

    • 100% agree with this regardless of reason for price increase. If NVIDIA were not taking it in on AI compute sales, they would be self destructing by making their pricing decisions since COVID.
If they cared about "gamer" customers they would absorb price fluctuations with their profits.

Intel 14th gen out any minute… will upset some prices for sure.

    • 14th gen has bugger all improvements over 13th

  • Hows the 32gb ram upgrade look?
Better to stick at base level and add your own?

    • +1

just upgrade with them. youre not going to find better prices and might as well let this supplier have the margin - they've been very good to us

      • +2

Yeah big fan of Techfast and already have two of their builds, ready to upgrade. Just seeing if it's actually good ram at 5200mhz for +200 is all.

        • 2 builds already and now a third?
So many PCs. For personal use?

    • See my post below. I would recommend ditching their RAM and buying new before upgrading. RAM is probably the easiest thing to change on a computer besides turning it on and off. Press firmly on the tab until you hear a click, remove the ram - check the RAM slots and press firmly on your new ram until you hear a click.
$200 will get you far, far better RAM and you can sell the 5200 ram for $50 easy…

      • Great thank you!
Do you have some ram suggestions? Preferably with 32gb (2x16gb)

        • +2

Looks like my link to Amazon got canned. Just search amazon for CL 30 @ 6000mhz 32gb
or go to pcpartpicker and select the same. it will come up with the cheapest options.

          • +2

            @XCelR8: agree with 6000mhz 32gb cl30, I have the g.skill neo trident or something
            was around $210

      • or on cheap mobos the click isn't enough, may still not be seated, you have to hear and feel the CRUNCH

  • +2

Great work listening to people listing the brands you will be using (at least your down to a main brand and one other). :)
It would be beneficial for buyers to know that its not the greatest RAM (probably CL40) and price upgrade for RAM is extremely poor - its not like you don't have more RAM to add easy enough. i.e. you built this to price because you get large volume discounts but surely that's not applicable when you are using the same RAM?
Most people would accept it if it was say a different speed, but this is exactly the same.

For the upgrade price: 64GB [5200MHz] DDR5 RAM ($450.00) You could have bought 96gb ram yourself: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/796770

Side note: I have bought a Techfast computer before and was a very simple easy transaction.

    • They must make a very small profit on these so trying to claw back some margin on upgrades I'm guessing. I'm ok with that.

        • +1

I dont think just because of the RAM option (that you dont have to take) that this should be considered a substandard deal….Im making people aware that the option to upgrade is exorbitant and should be avoided.
For bang for buck gaming you wont get much better price wise.

Damn might bite once my Low Fee Commbank Card comes in to get that $250 cashback for $1,000 spent. Can't wait!

  • +2

Shame for wifi users, the previous version was $20 more with a known wifi motherboard, this version won't even fit a wifi pcie card given the GPU size (USB or nothing?)

    • Also means no 10GB card (

  • +1

Which PNY model for the GPU?

  • +3

can we get some intel based deals pls?

    • +1

I've been waiting for one for months now, hopefully some when 14th gen comes out.

  • +1
    • doubt it. ITX expensive and 3060 probably out of stock! I don't think they make it anymore.

  • +1

So this motherboard doesn’t have WiFi/Bluetooth and they can’t be added due to the GPU size, is that correct? Would you have to do it via USB to get them?

  • +1

Yeah if the wifi can't be had on mobo it's a deal breaker for me.
I reckon it should be a standard feature and not an option. If someone wants to use ethernet that's fine but no wifi is just silly

  • Can you play hardcore low ping games on wifi?

  • +4

Heads up again: 8GB DDR5 stick is x16 bitwidth, which contains half the bank group amount than normal x8 width chips, and the (random access) performance SUCKS

layman terms this RAM will cause your game FPS stutters and fluctuate way much more than if you had 16G*2 RAM with the same frequency/timing.

    • +3

And the upgrade cost is ridiculous!

  • +2

Will you be doing 7700/7800 XT builds in the future or do AMD's Aussie distributors not have good pricing for SIs?

  • -1

Gamers may upgrade to a 4080 system to play Starfield, with 'recommended' spec. likely good for 1080P-Ultra only.

Guess why the gaming-industry is heading in this direction ?

FYI, a gamer shared his GTX-1080 system bought via PcPartPicker for $2.5K in 2018..more buying power than today's $. His system can't generate 60 FPS gaming Cyberpunk @ 1080P-Ultra.

Regarding 'more buying power than today's $', in the last 6 months, do the price increases you experienced is in line with ABS inflation #s ?

I tried to make this as accurate as I could.

  • "AMD Ryzen 5 7500F processor (7600X, 7700X and 7900 upgrades available)" — can't see the option for 7600X or 7700X processor upgrade on the webpage. Am I missing something?

    • They were options earlier. I assume they're out of stock unfortunately.

  • Any chance of getting a 4080 build with a 7800x3D? You’d have my money within minutes.

    • You playing at 4k?
You probably wouldn't get too much benefit from the x3d series. Just double check some reviews. At 1440p it's a different arguement

  • @luketechfast

Hi Luke, my PC arrived today (Order: TF4869256202) can't start up.

Only ram light flashing when I plug in the power cod and press switch on buttom

It seems to me like a PSU issue.

Could you please advise??? Or can you PM me a phone number to contact you??
