        • Fair call, but only in the white colour.

        • its like when a retailer advertises a manufactuer rebate as a "sale" against their full RRP, without budging an inch on their regular margins which they reduce during normal sale

when you stack manufacturer discounts + retail discounts. Then its a proper "bargain"

Looking at some YouTube, seems the wheel is manual adjustment. Unusual for a Luxury image.

      • +1

People actually think BYDs are luxury? 😬

        • Like how people think Teslas are luxury too? :|

    • Why people keep post this? This is not a deal!

      • Because idiots keep voting them up.

I'm not sure we can really say how much of a bargain this is yet.

BYD has zero years of proven reliability as an FEV manufacturer. Less than all the other crappiest, least reliable, cheap lemon car brands.

70k won't seem like a bargain if it falls to pieces in 3 years.

Not a deal.. I dunno what makes these cars different from any other brand but this just is not a deal..

    • So after rebate price would be? $65,748? Always get confused as some EV brands like Tesla include the rebate in pricing

    • Given the Road User Charge is off the table, feel it gives the NSW govt an opportunity to drop the Stamp Duty exemption (and Rebate) sooner. The Electric Vehicles (Revenue Arrangements) Act empowers both the Road User Charge and Stamp Duty exemption together. For the Rebate, worth considering if the NSW govt will continue to hand out rebates for nothing in return in the future.

I'm running my 2001 Hyundai Accent into the ground :)

Nice. I laugh at these EV warriors who buy a new Tesla every 4 years when warranty runs out.

    • These things are a game changer at this price point.

    • Hey mate, WA has come in under for the rebate too I think? 70k is the limit and the performance is under. Is this correct? :)

  • What's the warranty on these ?

  • -6

lol 50k for this car? No thank you.
I already noticed in the photos that the seatbelt buckle is broken. Who knows what else will break within a year of owning this car…

  • Obviously I own a BYD, but this is just RRP advertising. It's not a deal because you can only buy it online and there is no "haggle price" as BYD/EV Direct run a fixed price sales model.

    This belongs in the forum.

Just ordered. My order number is '1'!
I thought by now there would have been a few pre-orders

    • +1

Which one did you go for?

  • -2

RRP is not a bargain, neither is this a preorder waitlist.

Lol @ the Tesla fanboys down voting this. Ordered my Premium today in the Atlantic Grey. Just on 60k. Hella nice :)

I currently own a Tesla and was looking at getting this as a second car for the wife. What killed it for me was the scheduled servicing fee's you have to pay on top as well as brakes because the car doesn't have one pedal driving like the Tesla. I've driven over 100k in mine, not one service required and still original brakes have hardly been used. Have only needed to change the tires and top up the windscreen fluid so far.

      • How many sets of tyres for 100k?

      • +3

Scheduled servicing fees from what I can see are around $229 a year. Seeing as my kids will be driving in the car that seems pretty minimal for peice of mind that there is no mechanical issues.

I get that Tesla has YOLO'd and you guys don't check your cars but all things mechanical can fail. It's the nature of moving parts.

Regen braking to brake use, not sure, not enough experience. I do know that brake pads run about $140 for a whole set. If by chance the car did need a set of brakes, including the servicing to 160k that's around $2500

With the cars being at least 12k cheaper than Tesla then your well up and have actually had your car serviced in the period.

Could still be a good option for your missus :)

      • Also, Tesla warranty is for half the kms and only four years!!!

        • +1

Not quite. Battery warranty is essentially the same for RWD Tesla but LR and P models have 8 yr/192k which is better than BYD. Tesla warranty also covers the drive unit for the same 8 years/192k whereas BYD don’t. Apart from the battery, that’s probably the most expensive/major part that could fail.

    • So did I. Same config.

      • Hey mate, nice :) I was torn between the Performance or the Premium. For long term I think is best not to cart another motor around at the cost of 10% ranger and therefore electricity cost. Also, with the rebate here in WA could have only got the performance in white which is boring haha. What was your decision based on.

        • Very similar train of thought. Same boat in NSW. Only white qualified for rebate. All my company cars were white so any colour but white for me. Did they mention wait time?

          • @harryzee: Early December. I requested test drive and had a callback next day from sales agent in Perth. He said test drives were from early December also.

BYD own there own car freighter (ship) and they also make everything for their vehicles in house (no supply chain issues) so would expect them to land when stated.

In further research on the performance a couple of reviews said that the active suspension is not properly dialled in so might have dodged a bullet.

Found /bydseal subreddit but not many peeps on if you want to try and make it active :)

Comfy, ride experience, running’s cost, break down, maintenance, does EV (all EV brand) really better than Combustion or Hybrid car?

  • Got an email from BYD today with a bonus $500 rebate:

Buyers of electric vehicles (EV) are currently eligible for a $6,000 rebate from the QLD Government.

Receive an additional $500* Rebate Top-Up when you purchase your BYD ATTO 3 before October 31, 2023.

For a limited time, that's a $6,500 rebate! There really has never been a better time to buy an electric vehicle.
