  • if anyone complains they didn't get any Eneloops today their Ozb account should be suspended!

    • I didn't get any :'(

  • +18

A really big compliment to the COTD team. The servers held up brilliantly and stock levels were sufficient that anyone had a chance to get anything they wanted with a little bit of effort (check on the hour). Well done!

Keep up that great form for the next 8 years!

  • Bought my first 3 packs of Eneloops as well ! I feel like a part of the OZB family now !
Where's the best place to get an Eneloop charger ? Can I use other chargers like Energizer or Varta ? I have a couple at home.

    • +4

They will work, but the more intelligent the charger the longer the batteries will last. At least that's conventional wisdom. But seeing how low Eneloop prices have fallen, I wonder whether there is much point in paying $$$ for a top of the range charger…

      • Thanks Teri. I'll give it a go with the chargers I have and see how they go then. :)

      • If I recall correctly, an OzBargainer, years back, did the maths and worked out that based on apparent healthiness of cheap-charged batteries VS fancy eneloop charger-charged batteries, it wasn't cheaper to get the fancy charger. The cost of the charger outweighed the cost of buying more eneloops, unless you were buying TONS of them.

    • I'm new to eneloop and just saw these chargers:
      $8.38 - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-SANYO-Eneloop-NC-TDR02-AA-Ni-…

      $15.88 - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SANYO-Eneloop-Charger-4-NiMH-AA-A…

Dunno if they are genuine Sanyo or any good.

  • +5

I don't think we will see any eneloop deals posted after this deal

  • now finally all my tv, headset and stereo remotes can have batteries cos I used most of them for the kid toys!

  • ordered 2 more sets of AA eneloops…no idea what I'm gonna use em for but don't feel like an ozbargainer without em.

anyone know the best deal for a fast charger?

    • wrong post

  • +1

Glad I saved up my BDAY vouchers. $1.98 a pack is a bargain.

  • Where do you put in the BDAY code? At no point during the transaction at Catch Of The Day did I see an option to put in a code? I've been a member for years.

  • +3

can't think of why I would need AA batteries but bought a pack for the rainy day. this has to have been the best COTD event to date, kudos on listening to your customers and working to get better

    • +12

Thanks so much! We try :'-)

      • +1

    • Eneloops always come in handy for TV, media remotes and keeping OzBargainers happy :)

  • Do you need a special charger to charge the Eneloops?

    • +1

No just standard battery charger. I'm using my Duracell one from last years COTD event :)

You can get something like this from Masters or Dickie.

  • Careful when entering the code guys, if entered the code and didn't finish the transaction, the code is considered "used".

Any rep want to help me out here?

Bought Gilette Fusion with 1st code, 2x Skyrim 1x Killing floor with 2nd code and 3rd code for Eneloops but I wanted to test if TECH2014 code worked (it didn't), retyped BDAY and said I used it too many times.

    • If you've used it too many times, you've used it too many times.

      • Well, technically I've used it twice, but I did type it in the field 3+ times which is my fault. Thanks for the clarification anyway rep, cheers!

      • +2

I just put through a transaction that said $1.98 on COTD, then paid by paypal. Said $1.98 in paypal, then when it processed said the code was used too many times and it charged me $9.95

        • If you had a transaction issue where a coupon promised one thing and you were charged another, please contact our help centre: https://helpcentre.catchoftheday.com.au/hc/en-us

        • @CatchoftheDay: Im chatting to someone now, getting transaction cancelled and refunded. She keeps saying I can only use coupon once. That is fine, it tells me that as soon as I enter the coupon code now. But when I purchased the batteries it said $1.98 all the way until COTD processed the payment.

        • @johnno1987: We did change the coupon code back to it's originally advertised once only due to huge popularity. Please let me know if customer service can't meet your needs. We apologise if your cart misled you - we certainly don't want that to happen.

    • same here, tried too many times using BDAY but not finished trasaction, now saying "You have used this promotion too many times"

      • Well then you've probably used it too many times.

    • Same thing happened and I've only used it once.

Was checking some prices with the code and it stopped working.

      • me too only used once
        :(

      • Coupon code definitely only works once now, as originally advertised - due to huge popularity.

  • +2

best eneloop deal of all time (at least so far, till price error I guess)

  • So i bought a pack of AA and AAA and used the BDAY code. Good deal i thought until i read a few comments above. So grabbed another AA with code for $1.98.

  • ehh so ive only used the BDAY code once, and then i go to use it again, and it says ive exceeded the limit…?!

    • They caught on with that. The original condition was only once use per account.

    • Coupon code definitely only works once now, as originally advertised - due to huge popularity.

  • $1.98 for a packet of AAA eneloops makes me happy :)

  • anyone only able to use bday code once? tried to use the code 2nd time and got this "you've used this code too many times"

    • It worked once for me. I tried again and got the same message.

    • Yeah I tried to use 3rd time and it said no

    • Worked 3 separate times for me.

    • Coupon code definitely only works once now, as originally advertised - due to huge popularity.

      • worked once and that is it. Trust me I tried a few time applying the code.

    • +3

Damn, I should have used them 3 times when I had the opportunity. Now I lost my two $8 precious try.

  • I concur with "wtfnodeal". You can only use it once. Even worse, I was charged full price only after the order was booked in (it showed the discount during final checkout).

    • +1

i used it three times like everyone else did, maybe you've used it for something else already

      • +1

They've fixed it in the last 10mins.

Max 1 Coupon Code redeemable per Catch member. Code is case sensitive. Coupon will be deducted off total order, excluding shipping costs. Coupon valid until 11:59pm AEDT 31.12.2014.

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/166837

        • +1

Yeah. I guess they fixed it right when I was in payment check out. The inconsistency between check out price and what they charged my Paypal is unfortunate.

    • Coupon code definitely only works once now, as originally advertised - due to huge popularity. If you had a transaction issue where a coupon promised one thing and you were charged another, please contact our help centre: https://helpcentre.catchoftheday.com.au/hc/en-us

      • Thanks for the reply! I have contacted the help centre via the form when I realised the issue. Hopefully it will be rectified soon.

  • +1

I used it twice before I reached my limit

  • +6

    lol those enloops op http://i.imgur.com/VFQqCgk.png

    • That made my day haha. Ozbargainers love their Eneloops!

  • I think the problem with the code is that once you apply the code it counts as one usage. Even if you DONT checkout. So if you test it out twice to see if it works then its counted. Happened to me.

    • Bugger. I only got to use it once.

    • never try any, just used once.
I think they put in the system properly now

    • No just applying the code does not count as one usage.

The original term and condition was/still is

Max 1 Coupon Code redeemable per Catch member. Code is case sensitive. Coupon will be deducted off total order, excluding shipping costs. Coupon valid until 11:59pm AEDT 31.12.2014.

For some reason, a bug or what not, people could use the coupon more than once. Now they caught on to that and most likely fix it. So any one who use it before cannot use it again.

Just be happy that you got 1 use of the $8 and move on.

    • This has happened to my account as well. Thought it was good practice just to do a test run on something else beforehand. Pretty pleased with the deals posted regardless

    • I only got to use it once and I didn't try to use it previously… they've fixed the loophole - damn it!

    • Nope, doesn't work that way. Coupon code definitely only works once now, as originally advertised - due to huge popularity.

  • +3

I dont think many people realise it's $1.98 with the coupon. or else we would be maxing out the vote button

    • +4

You're making an assumption that everyone who got a good deal will do the right thing by voting? Doesn't happen too often mate. The moving of the mouse cursor and clicking on the +vote has proven to be too hard for these leeche…I mean people :)

  • I had no idea you could only use code once.

    • +1

It was working more times before, for some, if they were lucky. Only definitely works once now.

  • +1

Are the eneloops limited to one set of each per member or not? You can do multiple purchases, but will duplicates be fulfilled?

  • -1

    Great!

  • +3

Ahhh…. B'day party is over for me "You have used this promotion too many times"

    :(

  • +1

More eneloops for free this time with the $10 code from my last purchase. Thanks OP!

  • Does anyone know how long it takes for $10 to be credited after first purchase?

    • +1

I think my first purchase was this morning, and immediately after I had $10 store credit for my next purchase (you mean the referral bonus, right?).

    • I got it instantly

    • 0-5 min…

  • Has the Fifa15 come up yet???

    • no, see OP

  • Does anyone think the kindle is a good deal? I mean seems like a new model is coming soon, no?

  • Used up my TECH coupons from the last deal - free eneloops for all!

  • Just realised gf had a COTD account.. log in… add to cart… sold out… :( i guess 1 pack will have to suffice.

    • Ayeeeeeeeee I know what you did there. Is it a thinly veiled comment to say "I have a gf"??

      • Not really.. I was just excited at the prospect of putting through another order… Seems like the $8 will now go towards a pair of havainas

  • Eneloops are sold out - Dammit, missed out by 5 minutes

  • +1

Argh literally going to pull trigger on enloops and whilst checking out sold out. Poo!

    • +1

      You snooze.. you lose!

  • Meh….next!

  • I made two transaction today, I hope COTD smart enough to combine them and save on postage :)
or pass the savings to me ;)

    • only 2?

      • Only addicted to Eneloops and I got like four sets wondering around :(

  • Got the hunger games books…Cheers OP!

  • +1

The Eneloops lasted a surprisingly long time considering they were going out the door for $1.98 or free depending on what coupons you were using. It's because this deal isn't on the front page or they would have lasted less than 30 seconds.

    • +2

It is on the front page. It's the highlighted deal, it's actually the first thing you see when landing on ozbargain.com.au
