Got a few of these on a deal years ago. Great towels! thoroughly recommend.

  • +3

I got a few as well and in the true OzBargain spirit I haven't used them yet. Just grabbed them when they were cheap

  • yeah, i still have mine still in the plastic packaging it came when i got it from the post. It doesnt serve as a normal bath towel isnt it?

  • +5

Don't get the active towels unless you love the feeling of rubbing a gym mat on your skin. The microfibre towel is good though.

    • +4

I might have to investigate the active towels, particularly after the "incident" that got me banned from Fitness First…

  • This offer is not available in conjunction with any other offer. It is based on the Regular Price and does not include Summit Club Pricing. While stocks last.

Does this mean 1x for $9.99 (summit price) or 3x for $29.98 (regular price)?

    • Seems to be Summit price regardless of what it says

    • I logged in and added 3 to the cart and got charged $9.99 total, discount -$19.98

    • +1

I got them for the summit club price- 3 towels for $19.99.

  • I don't know who ever buys these at full price but 3 for 1 at "summit club pricing" is a good pick up.

  • Thanks for posting this deal. Can you advise what size is appropriate to be equivalent to a standard bath towel in terms of absorption? i.e. are these better and so I can buy the smaller size for equivalent absorption performance? I'd like to reduce the amount we carry when travelling and these towels seems the go.

    • XL is the only thing really resembling a normal bath towel.
Large is like a pretty small bath towel.

    • The normal size is actually Large for Kathmandu, but I bring my 2 of my medium size when I travel and they are sufficient (one to dry my long hair and other one for everything else). if you dont have long hair. 1 towel is enough! they dry within 8 hours too!

    • +4

They remove excess water, but you never feel properly dry. Kind of like drying yourself with a sponge.

Anyway, they're okay, if you buy one, get one that is at least the circumference of your waist + a few inches (6"). It's annoying walking back from a shower otherwise.

    • Medium is 40cm X 90cm and Large is 50cm X 100cm.

    • The XL is 150cm x 75cm - a good sized towel. I bought a couple of these at the summit club online only sale for $19ea a few weeks ago. Big enough to wrap around comfortably and get properly dry. Very tempted to buy a few more, they dry very quickly and pack down to about 10x15x2cm and weigh virtually nothing. At this price it's even worth chucking one in the glove box and one in the kids school bag for emergencies

I'd rather buy 100% Egyptiann Cotton towels. Much better quality.

    • +4

      Apples and oranges.

How small do your Egyptian cotton towels fold up for travel…….

      • +2

Well you got me there they're not meant for travel like these microfibre towels are.

    • Edit: typo. Meant to say Egyptian, not Egyptiann.

    • being Egyptian myself id have to say .. i like towels

  • Nice price, about to check out. Doesn't seem like you can pick 3 different styles of the same price, needs to be the same colour and style to qualify for 3 for 1.

    • I got the coral and blue and white stripes in XL and it worked.
I think they have to be the exact same style with different colour options. There seems to be some sort of non existent difference between some types (e.g. Dark Blue XL doesn't work with the other XL's)

  • +1

I saw microfibre towel $2.80 at Daiso a while ago. Any difference to this?

    • probably size.

  • Bought two last year for when we travel - got the XL striped blue and striped pink which don't appear to be there but I think are the same style.

Great towels, very absorbent and dry very quickly.

  • +1

    $10 shipping should be noted.

    • See if these towers are available in store would be a way to avoid the $10 shipping charge. Good chance they are stocked in store.

      • They're stocked in store but currently much dearer. Need to order online for store pickup.

    • +1

Can also pickup in store for free. Up to 7 days wait before items are ready for pickup at selected store.

      • Yeah but more than often the clearance prices for items are the same in store. Chances are the local stores may already have this in stock at this price just have to walk in and buy it off the shelf.

      • The site showed that pickup in store is only available at Richmond (other side of the country), and the $10 shipping/handling fee was still there…

        • Oh that's strange. I've just received an e-mail saying that my package is being delivered to my selected store, so it could be due to our different locations (I'm in Sydney).

  • The L size appears to be charged at $16.99 for 3 instead of the $13.33 indicated on the website.

I had to do 2 separate orders in order to get 3x L at $13.33 and 3x XL at $19.99 or otherwise the total is higher than $33.32. Pick up in store for both orders.

  • These Microfibre Towels are good.
The cheapo Kathmandu Towel range is like a dried up sponge.

  • How do they compare with the active towel https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/127818 ??

    • see aaronbaron's comment above.

  • +1

Are they soft enough to be used on cars after doing a car wash?

    • Was thinking the same thing.

    • I'd imagine yes but haven't tried it.

  • Are these towels adequate for gym use, such as wiping off sweat? Also, would the lighter colours become dirty easily?

  • bought the one with $26.66 cost.

  • is it possible to pick them up instore?
and avoid having to pay 10 bucks?

    • +2

I have ordered them as pick up in-store

    • +1

Ops, I've now added that info to the description.

  • i have got a few last time whe they were hugely discounted.i only used them when travelling overseas or domestically.

extremely uncomfortable, but serve the purpose very well.

  • Just went in store and spoke to one of the customer service girls. Sale starts tomorrow for in store. She believes it should be 3 towels for $60 or $20 each. I just walked outside and did it online for pickup in store.

    • she is definitely wrong. you did right, Mr. PhD:p

  • Anyone know if the click and collect is from floor stock or whether it is sent from a warehouse? and whether you can just rock up and collect before getting any notification? I rather not have another Dick Smith on my hands where everyone buys up the floor stock (including the employees) and then tell you they don't have stock for your click and collect order.

  • +1

I see these at 3 for 1 every time I go into the store. Pretty darn sure it's permanent pricing!

  • How do we claim the cash back? any link? Sorry if this question has been asked before

  • Anybody in SA with a membership willing to share? Am looking for 1-2 XL towels.

  • heh members only, way to lose sales from people who don't want to be a member

I bought the X-large 3for 1 years ago, great towels

  • Just went to the Hay St store in Perth. They refused to honour the online price, insisting that the online store operated as a separate entity.

    • You can order online and collect from a store

      • FFS, I tried doing that earlier today and it said "we're currently trialling store pick up in Richmond only". I swear I'm going insane.

  • I've got one of these towels and they're great. I use it when go to the beach, it's light and very compact. I'd think it could be useful for pools as well. You can squeeze water out of the towel when it's too wet and continue without real drying

  • thank op, great price

Decided to buy the deluxe XL microfibre towels. I'm not sure if there is much of a difference between them and the normal microfibre XL towels.. i just went by reviews on their website. Man i have spent too much from ozbargain tonight!!!

    • The deluxe have an anti-bacterial treatment.

      • Does that make much difference though?

    • where are the reviews? can't find it. thanks

      • When you click on the product you can view description of the product or there is a tab next to that where you can see reviews

        • Thank you, found it! Ad-blocker at work

  • Great towel. I bought 3 microfibre towels in L years ago and have been waiting for this deal to come back so I can get the XLs.

  • This is a well presented overpriced brand

  • Bought the deluxe XL microfibre over the normal XL as navy better for camping/travel. Don't need the 'deluxe' antibacterial treatment. Should I hand in my OzB badge for paying $7 extra for color alone?!

  • +1

    Noting a couple of things.

Free postage if you spend $100 or more
Extra 10% off if you spend $150 or more

The website overcharges if you mix and match towels of differing prices

e.g 3 of the XL at $19.99 and 3 of the face cloths at $4.99 should be $24.98. Instead the website charges 2 of the most expensive ($39.98). I gave them a call on 1800 333 484 and they corrected the price and completed the order over the phone.

  • I was told in store today (well, yesterday) that you can sign up to the Summit Membership for free for "the next few days". Sale to the general public starts Thursday I think.

    • Which store was this?

  • So if I order now, can I still get the 3 for 1?
If so, do I order 2 or 3 before contacting them?

    • +1

i just called them, they said its whatever is on the website. so its expired :(

  • this should be marked as expired !!!

    • +3

"this should be marked as expired !!!"

Yeah, it should. But to be sure, this was an awesome deal at the time it was posted OP, many thanks. At that time I was able to order the XL ones (both blue striped AND pinkish- coloured ones) for "3 for $19.99"; so less than $7 each. I picked them up today, and on my way into the joint, I couldnae help but notice the same product on a table at the front, 'retailing' for $79.99 EACH. Gary Jules was right… it's a very very mad world.

      • +1

Yeah, I had the same thoughts.

Picked mine up in-store for free, after Aust Post delivery to store.

All tags (6x) had $59.98 on them, so nearly $360 worth of towels. OK OK, so they are not really worth that!, but $40 delivered for in-store pickup is a BARGAIN. Best price in-store was 2x for $60
