Everyone, I'm seeing a lot of comments here about people walking into stores and seeing nothing on sale. You may actually be missing out if you leave. I've just been to Broadmeadows (10:45am) and nothing is tagged. I asked the sales rep, and he took me through the specials.

YOU NEED TO ASK!!!

Examples:

1x iPad Air 16GB ex demo $99
2x Nikon J3 $99 (one display)

          @KaptnKaos: Fixed

  • At my local store the staff member said the TV and tablets were on clearance tomorrow. Saw a JVC 50 inch but he said $899.

    • +11

      Tell him his dreamin'

  • I read the T&C, but it also says online only - does that mean the brick and mortar stores have different conditions? I'm after a Samsung S6 to replace my aging Sony Z1.

    • new models like S6 arent a clearance line so wont be on sale.

  • +8

Went to my local DSE, managers special Panasonic TH-60CS610A $1899.. on the dick smith site it's $1599.

    • +21

That's why it's his special, he pockets $300.

    • +9

putting up retarded deals like that, I'd say the manager is pretty special too

  • +2

Nothing notable at the Point Cook store; still a few PS3s and games at the front. Cameras gone. A few TV's but nothing remarkable (27" LG for $110 or something like that). Left in 3 mins. Was told by team member Highpoint might be good for some Apple stuff, YMMV.

    • Said all the dicksmith customers today

  • +3

Looks like a bit of a fizzer today.

  • Meh

  • +18

Dickies are expecting an influx today due to the craziness yesterday, today is where they make some real money was false bargains and for the next 3 days. Playing on peoples emotions.

    • +9

Hey, I was as cool as a cucumber when I bought those 73 selfie sticks.

I may have shed a few tears later that evening and reconsidered some choices I've made in life, but that's besides the point.

      • +4

Did you connect them all together to capture a long reach selfie moment?

  • Line up of 7 people at dick smiths Adelaide

    • Did you call them Dicks or fellow OzBargainers?

    • +1

2.5 hours to go for me.. Plz update tv deals 🤗

    • +4

All of Adelaide queuing at Dick's? No way.

  • -4

ONLY IF I HAD MY P'S…. UGHHHHH

  • Does Dickies stock any flagship TV's from LG or Samsung?

    • remember its clearance lines so wont be any new models.

  • -2

    Im confused.

This thread says 60% Off Samsung Tablets and Smartphones
Dick Smith website says only 10% Off Samsung Tablets.

In fact, i see no mention of 60% or 70% Off anything on the Dick Smith website?

    • +1

Like yesterday, these are not published on their website.
Most of the prices are not ticketed, you have to ask them to scan or lookup the products.

      • That's a joke. They should just advertise it if they want the masses to fill their stores, other than qwerky ozbargainers…

    • +1

Literally the first 4 words in the original post: Available in-store only

      • Just went in store… Zero Deals.
        On anything.
Apart from Buy 2 get 60%, Buy 3 get 70% on selected items like phone covers.

    • +1

It's Up To, not 60%, high hopes if you can find that off samy tabs

  • +12

TA's reputation on this site amazes me - 72 up votes for this bargain before anyone even saw anything and, as usual with many DSE sales, it's a bit of a fizzer.

    • +4

His effort is worth the + vote already.

      • +1

        where is jv

    • Yeah he's gold the midas touch, everything he touches turns to gold.

Where as my touch usually turns things to sh!t. :( FML

      • Oh my, that's a flashback right there.

    • +2

      For some maybe.
I did well yesterday, and will likely do well today.

One of the perks of living in a smaller town is there is less competition for these sales.

Unethical staff behavior is hardly a reason to downvote the bargain.

  • +3

so this is a pointless post with no deals? lol anyone else would get negged

    • You must be new here.

  • +5

People ask for apple MacBooks ex display. They keep some in the back they could not sell and they are 50% off.

I was lucky and got an ex display MacBook Pro i7, 16gb, 256 SSD originally for $2299 down to $1199.
None left at nunawading but chadstone or other stores may have one or two.

    • +1

      Well done old chap.

    • Do you have the receipt or code i can quote to the store?

      • I'm at work now so can't upload a receipt but it's a 2014 model that was discontinued in May 2015

        • Can you just quote the XA code? that's all I need to find all the sales assistants are too lazy to look for me

        • @chris_: I'm sorry I don't have the MacBook with me here. I would suggest you call up or visit stores that sell apple MacBook and ask them if they have any on sale.

In my case it was the only ex display model, located in the back.

  • +1

    apple 4S & 5c for $100, meh

    • +2

      Any PS vita left??:D

      • +1

none from yesterday already. - basically nothing in Adelaide. cameras were all cleaned up yesterday too.

        • +1

$99 Vita would have been an early chrismas for me!

        • +2

@Circly: TBH, I got my vita for 100 bucks on Gumtree, 1000 with OMLED, and good quality since no many games for they to be utilised.

        • @melfes:

I have a 1000 but am looking for a 2000 for when the 1000 dies (battery life is starting to shorten and shoulder button/left stick is starting to be a bit fiddly).

        • +1

@Circly: Then make sense. Cheap backup

      • one in Murray Bridge!

    • So someone bought all the tablets then?

      • +1

no, entered the store at 9am when opened- asked the sales guy - his response 'the sale is only for old stock, and we don't have any of the old stock on sale"

        • He probably stacked them at the back for himself :P I bought a tablet off the ebay sale last Saturday anyway, I would have been bummed knowing that I could have gotten it cheaper!

    • DId you get a price list?

  • +1

Coles has this deal on DS Gift Card starting today:

"Receive a Bonus 10% Extra Value When You Purchase Any Dick Smith Gift Card"

    • use them right away, DSE gift cards are not an item I would be hanging onto in case they go into liquidation

    • Does Coles charge any processing fee etc?

  • +1

Walked in and out of bourke. The bargains were yesterday peeps. Today is people who didn't realise taking a look. Might be another decent round of bargains to go, but it's not today. Or at least not ticketed which is pointless.

Definitely getting people in store though!

  • 65 inch lg tv. Down to $999

    • +2

      Which store please? Photo?

      • I had the model on a piece of paper but gave it to this other guy who wanted to call around.

All i know it was $34xx down to $919. There are a few around in canberra and none left at Civic.

Im picking it up at lunch time so will update then.

Just visited the Dick Smith Store in Bendigo.

They had no ticketing up, no deals advertised other than a small bin of PS4/XBOX ONE/XBOX 360 games at the front of the store, a clearance table with calendars and a 22" TV, and an already stripped cabinet of DSLR cameras. 90% of store stock was ticketed with its full RRP price.

When I approached a staff member (who seemed to be in charge for the day) and mentioned the heavy discounts he told me it was "Just old stock" and that they are "a store that doesn't keep much older stock around". Wouldn't give me any further discounts on Apple products, TV's, Computers, etc etc…

The way he was talking makes me almost think that the staff have/will strip the stock for themselves to sell elsewhere.

    • +2

Thanks. Good comment. I'm not even from your state but it's very helpful when comments include store location, given that these DSE sales are going to be very hit and miss with stock levels. Cheers.

      Review on Regravity's review

Some very good formatting in this review. The use of italics is a refreshing breeze from the regular typeface fare we usually get in these parts. A strong anecdote ties the review of the Bendigo store together like a ribbon weaving its way seductively through a crowd.

The punctuation in his use of direct speech leaves much to be desired but captures the demeanour of the DickSmith staff vividly.

Review on theworks' review on Regravity's review.

Appreciative of the review on Regravity's review. Also enjoyed the use of italics in theworks' review, its not often that we are treated to such liberal italicises in not one, but two reviews.

All in all a great review, of a review… though I am a little disappointed that there was no mention of Regravity's avatar nor the exquisite example of beard.

IGN rates your review of a review of a review -0.585/10.

          Now that's reviewception.

As DSE stores are on their way out, let's make sure those responsible for that are shown the door accordingly.

    • Similar experience in Wangaratta, Vic this morning @ 9am.

Any reports from the Norwood store?

    • +1

Went to norwood store yesterday. Samsung tablets were on sale, but I can't remember what percentage as I wasn't really looking. No drastic sales from memory, I left with only my click and collect item.

      Not sure about today.

      • +1

        • +1
