Ryobi Assorted 18v Garden Tool Kits $90 Nearly 70% off @ Bunnings

3970

Came across these on Bunnings home page absolute bargain considering the usual retail on these kits.

The hedge trimmer is usually over $239 from memory.

Seems like a nation wide deal but confirm with your local store.

Ignore the ticketed price it will scan up as $90 at the register

        • @spin17:
The manual says they aren't for safety reasons

        • @spin17:

Are the batteries normally fully charged before they are boxed and shipped?

No, they are in a 'low charge' state…

    • It's stuck to the back of the unit where the battery goes. You guys obviously weren't excited enough to use it straight away when you got home. :D

      • Still can't find it? Haha. Are you able to take a pic?

      • +1

I bought a trimmer, blower and hedger. It was only on the trimmer I think

        • only in the trimmer for me as well. Pitty I didn't win anything

      • +1

Used both of mine and can't find this leaflet with a unique code anywhere.

      • ) purchase a Ryobi ONE+ Line Trimmer & Blower Combo, Ryobi ONE+ Drill & Blower,
Ryobi Power Tools Promo Kit, Ryobi HYBRID Blower, or Ryobi ONE+ Blower Kit
(each an “Eligible Product”) from any retailer in Australia that shelves Eligible
Products. There will be a promotional leaflet containing a unique code (“Unique
Code”) featured inside the battery compartment of each Eligible Product; and then

        • Bought a drill kit for christmas and had the code card in the battery slot, grabbed the blower yesterday and definitely no code in it.

      • Maybe there are old vs new stock? With only new stock having a promo code. You would think that the promo would be advertised on the box.

        • Both of my items were made in May of 2015, so hardly old stock. Ah well.

        • mine is week 42 2015 blower, I cannot find any leaflet, can you take a picture of it, maybe I will ask Bunnings tomorrow. The box seems somebody already opened it and seal it again with sticky tape.

        • @xdreamyst:

Bought my blower from NSW store - no code :(

        • @xdreamyst: I'm in SA

    • Was that an instant win highon2str? I entered both of the codes I had but didn't tell me if I won or not, just told me to check out the range on the website. Thx

Disregard…I need glasses obviously. It was staring me right in the face :(

    • Thanks for making me go check - I won some drill bits too :-)

      • From inside the combo pack?

        • +1

Yep, blower and line trimmer, both combo packs, bought in ACT

    • Which unit did you get the code or leaflet from?

      • How long is the code? Alphanumeric?

      • Mine was attached to the battery slot of the line trimmer.

    • +1

I won drill bits too after selecting that I was interested in their drills in the survey. Now I've bought one of their drills….clever….

  • Plenty of blower kits at Melton VIC

    • +2

They should be up all night playing computer games like normal people?

      • +1

Using the 5.1 surround sound loud…

      • -8

        Not me.

I'm a paramedic saving miserable lives like yours on the street while others play their little games, so often work shift.
Now even though that's a blatant lie, it could have been true - that's the point.

Actually this is battery operated - not as bad, but still an affront to humanity.

        • How do you know he lives in a street. People are told to keep quite at night and not during the day.
For People working late shift normally use ear plugs, sound insulated rooms for peace. You were quite rude mate and with all due respect, you are not doing social service. You are paid for that with penalty rates. With extra money, you can use gadgets to avoid sounds.

        • -2

          @Gaggy:

How do you know he lives in a street.

          I don't, and didn't say he did.
Maybe he lives in a dumpmaster.
          I work on the street.

People are told to keep quite at night and not during the day.

No they're not - folk aren't told anything.
          That's voices in your head.

For People working late shift normally use ear plugs, sound insulated rooms for peace.

Not all - some have issues with outer ear infections.
Sound insulation costs a fortune, and is less of an option for rentals.

You were quite rude mate and with all due respect,…

Show some respect and dismount from your bf.

…you are not doing social service.
You are paid for that with penalty rates.
With extra money, you can use gadgets to avoid sounds.

Penalty rates don't compensate me for blowers, and given my low base rate, the penalty rates basically bring me up to subsistence level. At least that would be the case if i was a paramedic.

          No morphine for you.

        • @steamtrain: You are too loud now :). Why are you not sleeping now. Is someone still blowing?

There are Council rules to keep peace during night times. Nothing unfortunately for day times.
          http://www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/live/report-local-issues/…

          Check your council.

May be time to request your neighbour to use it at times when you are not sleeping. But I am sure if you rant like this, there will be no solution or
after your shift in early morning you are using your blender or mixer and neighbours are just returning you the favours in the mornings.

I do respect paramedics risking their lives like the life guards at the beach who actually are volunteers, but they can't think themselves as superior or deserve the right to disgrace others.

        • -1

          @Gaggy:

          Definately no morphine for you.

… life guards at the beach who actually are volunteers,…

Actually actually you get professional lifeguards now at some beaches - Bondi, Byron Bay, etc.

…but they can't think themselves as superior ….

          I didn't say i was superior, even though i know i am.

…or deserve the right to disgrace others

You've got Snickers in your ear. You should fix that.

EDIT1: Hey, i don't neg your comments. Leave me alone.

          EDIT2: Thanks for the link!!

        • @steamtrain: I am not begging for morphine either. Are you an addict?
Regarding your superior comments, other users dont think the same either. Your first comment clarified that lol. So no need to explain self proclaimed superior guy.
Looks like you live in your own world..
I will leave you alone now to start dreaming or get ready for your night shift.

        • Smugy Pompous Moaner

    • +1

yeah for the average home, a blower is for lazy people! Plus a broom is a hell of a lot cheaper!

      • The same method if you walk up, try not to use escalator but stair.

        • Escalator is better than stairs if you go the opposite way. :-)

  • Thanks OP. Not sure saved or spent. Bought the blower as well.

    • Definitely saved :p

      • Saved on trimmer, but did not need the blower lol.

        • Look at is having a spare charger and battery now!

  • Just got a blower at Bathurst Bunnings, my son grabbed one too, only 1 left. Thanks for the tip.

  • +1

Thanks OP - I have literally been waiting for a blower to go on sale!!
No more at coburg but they have a few at Brunswick if anyone is interested

  • Just picked up a blower at the Mulgoa Bunnings in Penrith. There were two left on shelf.. probably 15+ of the trimmers and <5 hedgers…

    • They may have more stock as when I left at 07:30hrs there was only a single blower left on the shelf after I'd been there.

Great deal and these work fine around a patio area. My yard gets heaps of leaves though so the good old 2-stroke blower will still see heaps of use.

  • Marsden Park and Rouse Hill have plenty of trimmers but no blowers

  • Nothing left at Noosa.

  • Marion and mile end both sold out, argh!! Apparently Kent town has a pallet in stock but I can't be fudged driving through the city.

  • Nabbed a blower, plenty of stock Mt Barker SA. The houses either side of me both use blowers early in the morning, they say if you can't beat em.. Now that I have a decent battery and charger i'm much more likely to buy other one+ tools so it's not a bad promotion for Ryobi.

    • +1

yep, i just bought 2 blowers (second one for the battery) and sold the blower/charger for $90 (free battery!)

The other day i bought a portable air inflator for $99. now im gonna swap it at bunnings for the ONE+ inflator/deflator

  • Still around 10 units of the blower in Kirrawee, NSW

    • What a joke. I called this morning and they told me they had none in stock so I took the trip to Caringbah where they had about 6 left. Caringbah told me Kirrawee was out of stock and next delivery due in a couple of weeks!

      • That's what Kirrawee told me about Caringbah!

        • That's even more of a joke if both stores can't get it right or more likely just didn't bother to check stock levels and give the easiest answer and say it's out of stock. Anyway least I managed to pick one up. But should have gotten two now that I think of it.

  • Picked up the blower from Ashfield Bunnigs.

I feel they will be cheaper agin in the very new future as Ryobi heads towards 36v as their next frontier.

    • -1

Yep, I have no idea why you would want 18v garden tools, no matter how cheap. I use the 18v ones for my power tools and 36v for the garden gear. Such a good bit of kit.

      • +2

Something else that Ozbargain sold me that I really did not need 🤔

      • The 36V range has been out for years. If anything, ryobi look like they are focusing on the 18v range, even inngrden tools. Like the 2x 18v lawnmower, and the 18V edger is new and u can't get that in 36V. You just don't need 36V these days.

        • With so many tools 18v, all my power tools are one+. I use the same batteries, chargers and swap and change. 36v means a complete new set of batteries and chargers.
The mower taking 2 x batts is even better idea.

        • I have the 36v edger. Maybe it's discontinued?

  • Grabbed the last blower at Maitland NSW.

Btw guys you can raincheck one if there is no stock

    • I tried to raincheck one and they said no, so i drove to the next bunnings and picked up the blower.

      • +4

Orde for and pay for it today at special orders desk and pay today's special price. Pick up when back in stock.

  • Just grabbed 2 blowers from North Geelong store…You will need staff to get scissor lift to grab them down… None reachable…
Plenty of stock of all 3, but on top shelf…

  • Went to Belconnen, they had 6 snippers by the time I left, I snoozed and lost with the blowers, saw them walking in, went to get something and they were gone by the time I got back. Ah well.

  • Thanks OP grabbed the hedge trimmer and blower for the bigger battery.

One blower skin for sale in East Burwood East VIC, guy can't even get the model number right without the battery, even though it's on the unit he took a picture of!

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ryobi-18v-one-blower-245km-h-obl1…

  • Villawood had four blower above the shelf, which sold out in a instant as three other people were waiting for them.

  • Many thanks OP!

Picked up a couple of blowers so I now have 2 batteries.

Ive been with the Makita ecosystem but the non-gas bradder from Ryobi has been something Ive been keeping my eye on

    The blower seems good too

  • Thanks OP. Just picked up the line trimmer from Belconnen. 8 at the front when I arrived, only 4 left as I was leaving about 15 mins ago.

  • I can just do my entire yard with my near new 1.5Ah battery. But if I divide it into front and rear and recharge in between, the recharge takes only about 20 minutes, which is a perfect break time.

  • Sorry to the person just calling the bankstown store, I picked up the last blower.
Unfortunately no hedge trimmer, if only I knew they did rainchecks before I left.
However plenty of line trimmers though.

    • +1

      Rainchecks?

They told me they "don't do anything like that"

      • +1

        No. No rain checks.
Order and pay for it today and pay special price. Pick up when back in stock.
Do that for most specials….10 drums of paint when it was over $20 off recently. Ordered paid and picked up at a later date when I decided on the colour.
Just pay for it today through special orders desk.

  • I missed out, now wondering if it's worth getting the Black and Deckers from Masters.

  • +1

Claremont WA has plenty of the blowers left @ 2pm today if anyone still wanting

    • I picked up blower and hedge trimmer from Claremont, but had to go to Subiaco to get the line trimmer. Around 2pm also.

    • +1

Western Suburb folks will probably buy gold plated ones rather than a Ryobi… :)

      • You don't get into the Western Suburbs by throwing money away

  • Also told they don't do Rain checks Blowers Morayfield

  • went to masters hawthorn as its close to me. no black & decker 18v stuff left (the ones on sale). went to bunnings hawthown and picked up the last ryobi hedge trimmer. there were a few blowers and line trimmers left.

  • +23

    Great deal >

Went and bought all 3 in true ozbargainer spirit (after running around multiple bunnings around Brisbane)

Reached home and released hell i dont even have a backyard. I live in apartment.

Hhmm Got to figure out in couple of days what to do with them

worst case scenario i can return them .

hhmm gotta love the adrenaline kick ozbargain gives me while rushing to buy items on deal,,,,

    • +2

I was actually thinking if someone will leave comment like:

"Thanks OP, bought all 3, will be excellent after my house with leafy garden is bought"
"Thanks OP, now strata management company will give me 20% discount of the management fee since I have been blowing the corridor and trimming at the outdoor common area".

    • Well you could keep it for..

      • I will not clean my PC with the blower or advise it to others…

        • Pretty cool though. I'd do it on your computer. :)

        • @bxpressiv: ( *your = my)
          Good luck.

        • @Gaggy:

Exactly, I'd be willing to give it a go on yours, not so likely to do it on mine.

  • +1

Modbury S.A still have a lot.. Just bought all 3 of those

    • mod bury only has line trimmers, about 6x at 5.30pm today

  • It's not clear if the 18v mower comes with batteries or not on the bunnings site. Other items seem to come as skin or in a kit .. if the mower doesn't come with batteries is 2x blowers the best way to get some 5amp ones?

    • Yup two blowers is the best way.

      • +1

Yeah 2 chargers too. 2 blowers is $19 cheaper than just buying the 2x 5ah pack even on special.

  • Got the blower from the Modbury store in SA this morning. Had 5 left on the shelf. Used it before not bad at all.

  • Picked up the line trimmer and blower from Chirnside Park at about 5:30pm - still had stock of all three.

  • Is the charger from the Blower the same as the other 2 chargers?
I.e. is it a different charger in the blower unit , or is it just a bigger battery (5.0ah battery) and the chargers are the same, just that it takes longer to charge the 5ah battery than it does the 1.5ah battery?

Someone was commenting about a fast charger - but just wanted to confirm that the actual charger is the same between the Hedge trimmer and the Blower

    Thanks

    • +4

The blower comes with the 5.0ah battery and the other two kits come with the 1.5ah battery. All kits come with the same charger.

  • Got 2 blowers and a line trimmer, needed to replace afew dead batteries

    Woodville sold out
prospect only had line trimmers, about 6 mid afternoon today

    • +2

      Parafield - Sold out
      Windsor gardens - Sold out
Modbury - Only got Line trimmers 6x at 5.30pm today
      Prospect - Sold out

      • Thanks for the update JSCLiasonNeo, saved me some driving looking for a blower.

Headed further north instead and remaining stock at about 3:30pm was:
        Munno Para - 2 x Hedge Trimmers
        Gawler - 1 x Blower

  • Just wait for the inevitable line trimmers, hedge trimmers and blowers to pop up on ebay
