7-Eleven Fuel App Watch - Nationwide - January 2017 to January 2022 » All Comments

        • @cwongtech: The app T&C's imply that the 7-Eleven Card is an eGift card and the same T&C's apply. Did you make a public post to 7-Eleven FB? I'd love the link just in case my 7-Eleven Card balance does ever disappear.

        • Unfortunately, I have a large SUV, so I usually lock in about 70 litres of petrol, just to be on the safe side. I used to only lock in 50 litres, but once I went over 50 litres and had to pay the rest at pump price. Ouch…

        • +1
        • +1

@cwongtech: the last time I paid using my balance, the receipt showed an expiry date 3yr from that day.

        • @shiznit: Their second message can be interpreted in two ways.

It stays put and won't change unless you make a purchase

          1. "The credit remains where it is and the balance won't change unless you make a purchase"

          OR

          1. "The expiry date won't change unless you make a purchase"

To be on the safe side I'd pay using the app at least every three years.

        • @cwongtech: magically wiped off the face of the earth lol

    • +4

Or you could buy 7-11 gift card from the store using AMEX, and load to the app. Try can load any balance to the gift card.

  • So I'm not sure if this has been covered here, but how would I use this with a fuel card that I got with my lease company? Do I lock in a price with minimal funds in my 7-11 account? And then pay with the fuel card at the register?

    • +1

What type of fuel card is it? A credit card?
Because for starcards (as an example), you aren't supposed to use any 4c fuel vouchers at Caltex.

Are there any restrictions on your fuel card?
If it's just a credit card, then yes what you describe is correct.
Btw minimal funds in 7/11 is probably $60 (45L~ estimated)
I put $80 in mine for p98, can do 50-55L fuel price locks

      • It's a motorpass card. My leasing company is NLC. Normally I just swipe and then sign a docket. They ask for my odometer reading. The car I use it for is a small turbo hatchback so it requires 95 ULP and above so I just get 98, but only about 30L of it.

But my question is, it seems like you need a credit amount in your 7-11 account to actually lock in a price. Can I just put an amount in, then use the motorpass card to pay for the discounted fuel?

        • +1

of course you can, that's what most of us here do. We leave a credit on our 7-11 acct and just pay with our cards. But once in a while, use your 7-11 credit to avoid expiration.

        • @angelkulit025: The credit expires? How do I check that?

        • +1

@andyhui01: Spoke with a 7/11 rep in the past and they told me "credit loaded on a gift card expires 3 years from the initial purchase date."

        • @andyhui01: Yes the credit in store to pay for something and the expiry should be extended. The expiry date should also appear on the receipt.

        • @brandogs: Thanks. I guess the OCD in me prefers to see a round number on my balance which is why I have never touched it.

        • find out from your lease company if it allows you to submit reimbursements, what I do is pay from my own pocket either cash or credit card. (on top of the credit within your 7-11 account) grabs the invoice and submit for reimbursement to driver option. 3 days later into my account.

  • +3

loved the double take of the cashier today at 7/11 with my U98… that'll be $96.20 thanks sir, scan bar code, that's $72.98… "woah, what"

    haha love it.

    • Yeah I remember the $1.00 E10 when it was $140.9. The attendant was like 'where did you lock that price?'

      • What was your response?

        • +1

I usually say “I just got lucky”

        • +2

Locked it in while driving around Melbourne of course.

        1. It shows you guys are overcharging (with a smile)
        2. Lots of driving for work
      • Told they guy I teleported to Vic when he asked about my E10 price.

        • You must mean teleported back to Aug 2017.

    • +1

One time the attendant pointed out the pump price was cheaper than the voucher I had. Good on him for that.

      • +2

Even if you scan the barcode, if the pump price is cheaper it will give you the pump price.

        • +4

And if you scan the barcode in that case you can then lock in a new lower price. So it's better to scan - no loss and some gain

        • @davedave: Unless the price goes up before you get an opportunity to lock in the cheap price again!

        • @sween64: True. So just lock in there and then if you are that concerned

        • @davedave: Not always possible for those relying on Nox.

    • +2

@phat-dave: $23 saving is not bad, but my biggest save on a single fill was $36 :)

  • Anyone having problem locking in? My 2 account both can't top up, can't lock, can't add new cards, can't do anything…
Same results on Nox and My S8+ and it happened even when I didn't have mock location turned on. So it's the app (and all my accounts) are basically dead.

    • Just locked in, I guess there must be something wrong with your account.

      • I thought so, too but my 2nd account was newly created..weird.

        • -6

711 locks your account if you sign in from a device which has another account signed in previously. Fraud prevention apparently.

        • +1

@geek001: whats with the downvotes? It happened to me and that was what 711 told me.

        • +1

@geek001: who knows. 7/11 is a really sacred cow here for some reason.

        • @geek001: how did you fix it may I ask? new account and new card? I created a new account and it still did not work for me.

        • @beOson: I called customer service.

        • @geek001: so after they unlocked it for you, you just have to make sure that you only use one account on one device? cheers

    • it is happening right now with my all 3 accounts.
      Any solution?

      • Call customer service?

        • +1

that is a very "unOzbargainly" way. Remember the step needed to do before calling CS?

          Post it on Ozbargain!!!

      • I had issues with topping up in the past with both my accounts, I ended up buying 7/11 gift cards and used them to top up. Since then I do not use 7-11 money, instead always pay by cash or card. I keep 7-11 money in account only for locking.

  • -15

Need some cheap 98. Anyone got a spare u98 that they are not using? :)

    • +8

It's amazing how adding the word "please" can make a huge difference in the responses you get.

  • +13

U95 Found for 139.9 at Moonee Ponds VIC (12:05PM)

    • Thanks! Locked in.

this still working? hasn't updated since 1128

    • +1

The server locked up - it's been happening periodically for the last few weeks. Trying to figure out what the issue is. It should be back soon.

      • +2

        Cool Thanks for your effort

  • +5

Far out, prices so expensive this week..

    • +1

      Tell me about it!

    • +1

Sometimes it works out cheaper to go to the old Caltex / Woolies to get the 4c off/ litre, pay with your e-gift card.

Think it’s 139.9 for u91 at Fairfield nsw, works out to be roughly 129.9/ltr if you use the above method. I usually just use the fuel watch app when 7/11 is clearly not the best deal around.

      • I buy my milk there and get an extra 4c a litre off.

      • I bought a bunch of caltex giftcards at "10% off" ($5 free credit per $50) but all the caltexes near me are still $1.599/L, so in effect it's still $1.455/L :(

whatever happened to 91 being like $1.10/L? :-(

  • Fill up before the weekend or do you think it'll come down a bit? need to travel a fair bit on the weekend..

    • I'd say it's only got one way to go, wait it out a few days if you can. That's based on nothing but my opinion tho :)

    • +1

Most of the price cycles seem to be in the middle of going down, so I'd say wait it out if you can. Might come down a few cents before the weekend.

  • +1

Puma fuels Matilda and Choice take 4c per LTR off with RACQ cards check you state if similar applies.
    https://www.racq.com.au/about/knowledge-bank/budgeting-and-s…
Don't need to buy anything from store so a nice additional option if not already posted.

    U98 - 146.9 @ 11-Seven Hampton Park VIC

    • Thanks … a bit of relief considering how high it has been recently

      • Yeah should tide us over another week till prices get lower

      • Is it worth getting the U98 in terms of fuel efficiency given the price difference?

        • its always worth getting the premium grade fuel!

        • this price looks like its the unleaded 91 price, but they've ran out of 91 and had to reduce 98

        • They say each octane number is about 1% difference in fuel efficiency from Regular to Premium 98. So if the price difference is more than that, then I'd say no.

        • @jubs:

The price difference is 7% and octane has a difference of 7 lmao

  • +5
Merged from [VIC] Supreme98 $137.7/L 7-11 Minto NSW
    Go to Deal

    EDited

    Cheers calvinbui

it seems not a bad deal when QLD 98 is about 1.8/L

    =)

  • +20

    Minto NSW u98 137.7

    • +1

      Great find!

    • wtf?!?!?!?!?!? I have just locked in this morning in Hampton Park

    • +1

Thanks Calvinbui, just saved me $24.

    • damn! locked in today too. Great find!

    • Thanks. Locked in.

    • Thanks

  • How do you remove a locked price?!

    • +1

You have to use it.. No other way.

      • Rip, cheers

    • +3

      Pour 2litres

    • Either fuel up with minimum amount or register second account.

    • Just use it to buy 2L of fuel, then you can do new lock.

    • I wanna lock more than 2 accounts. Any way to get around that? I changed imei but made no difference 😪

      • +1

I think you need to change your Android ID

        • Hey thanks for that. I'd give that a try

      • The "a bit of a hassle" way:

Lock via Nox on computer, take screenshot using screencap function, then email image to yourself and use on phone.

      • What happens when u try to lock in more than 2 accounts? Do u get an error or Does it’s go back the home screen?

        • I have numerous times lock price for two accounts using one phone. No problem. Never tried with more accounts though

        • When u lock more than twice, it reverts back to the 7-11 home screen with no lock

        • @Sweetnsour: what’s the rules? Lock twice in 24 hours?

        • @Dt12: I believe so. Can only lock twice per google account in 24 hours. So locking on another Google account is fine

        • +1

          @Sweetnsour: it's not per account.
          It's per device (android id)
If you can find something that changes the device id, by software (Nox or different app clones with different android ids) or by hardware (second phone) you can break that pesky 2 locks per 24 hrs limit :)

        • It's also 2 locks per 7/11 account.
If you change devices but have had 2 locks, it also won't work.

    • Yeah I locked in earlier at Hampton Park too but ended up filling a couple litres to waste the lock and relock at Minto.

      • I bet one servo will price P98 at 133c soon.

        • +2

          Yeah, probably Waverly Gardens.

        • +2

That will take a while - P91 prices need to be cheap for that to happen.
Most of the cheap P98 prices are from Victorian fuel stations, and at the moment, the cheapest 7/11 P91 in Victoria is 144.9c.

    • -1

Just fill $1 and get rid of the lock

  • sweet, locked in Minto, last week saved $17 and the 7/11 cashier was in awe lol Thanks OP

    • +1

Not bad. I saved $28 (and change) earlier this week when I filled up…

      • +3

I saved about $34 the other week and the cashier said nothing :(.

    • +1

What petrol are you guys getting to warrant such a huge saving?

      • it depends on the type of vehicle really. Those driving small cars have small savings compared driving an SUV and mid size cars. We are talking about the size of their fuel tanks per se.

        • I drive an SUV and it drinks 12.36L/100km, but at most I save 7c a litre when filling up U91.

        • @pogichinoy: savings is shown on the receipt and depends if you are filling up from empty to full.

Most of all it all depends on the current price of the fuel on the servo vs the locked voucher price.

      • +1

I use 98 in my car (minimum 95 ron required) and the price of that in my area is about ~177.9, so when I lock in 137.7 I am saving just over 40 cents per litre. Then I fill up a jerry can as well :)

  • I only just got the P98 137.7 price alert from master131's script at 3.35pm ? Wonder why it took so long? Was set to check prices every hour? I updated to check every 30 minutes, will see if that works better….

    • Do you have a link for the script?

      • -1

lol,,its always there on the top of this page. Must be a newbie yeah?

      • +1

        https://projectzerothree.info/prices.php
At the top right hand side, link that says Price Alerts. You need to be logged in to Google to set it up.

        • Thanks billy_bob. I didn't realize you could set up alerts.

        • +3

@Cheap Skate: Yep it's pretty cool, master131 is a master!

    • +5

It's possible that on your end, it was checked at 2:35pm, but the server updated the new price at 2:45pm (theoretical times, not actual ones). Therefore you wouldn't have been alerted until an hour after it was checked on your end at 3:35pm. Reducing the interval should improve it.

  • -8

Are you able to drop a price you have locked in?

    • No. You can use it for 2 litres and lock again straight after

      • -1

        Thanks.

Did I miss some weird etiquette of this thread where I can't ask questions?

        • +4

No but you missed someone asking the exact same question less than 3 hours before you, which means you didn't bother reading.

  • Does anyone know whether the credit in the seven eleven app expires? I have read the terms and conditions but it does not mention this.

    • +3

If you use some of your credit, the receipt will show an expiry 3 years from that date.

  • lol, I am a newbie at this …
Have a JB iPhone, working with location faker and jailbreak detection bypass apps … some hoops to jump thru before getting cheap prices !

So, I locked in the Minto price yesteday at 137.7 and filled up. It was for $70.

Later yesterday I tried to create another alert with same price and location. But it threw an error.
Apparently there is a maximum amount of dollars that can be locked in, is it ?

But then I tried again this morning and could lock $30 worth of fuel !

    It doesn't stop here.
I thought I will out-do the app by purchasing a $100 7-11 gift card and and using that to top-up.
And while scratching the security patch over the 4-digit pin, I managed to scratch the pin off as well …
    Oh my …

What I want to ask is, if I use the card at the terminal at 7-11 store, would I need the pin or just a swipe will do ?

    • I added $80 to my account, then I added $20 to my account. I always lock in about 70 liters, so the price is just under $100 and I have no issues at all.

    • +1

You just swipe, no pin needed. The pin is used for online transactions only, verification and checking balance online.

      • Oh that’s a relief, thanks Sweetnsour
By online, do you mean the app ?
I’ll just pay for locked petrol by swiping card in-store.

    • What location faker used?

      • I use LocationFaker(8,9,10,11). It's paid but clearly worth it. I'm using it on iPhone 7 Plus on iOS 10.1.1 using the extra_recipe + yalu JB.

  • +1

Master's script hasn't updated since 6.54am this morning.

    • +8

Small bug that was crashing the price checker, should be back soon.

  • -1

    Minto, nsw 98 unleaded 137.7

    • +2

Yep. It has been since yesterday. See comments above.

      • +1

Awesome that it has lasted so long.

  • Anyone has issue locking in on 98@minto? It just wont lock. No error

    • They had no prices showing for 98 at the station only showing 91, maybe that's the reason why?

  • +4

Got 2 vouchers for cheap 98 fuel and won't be able to use it as I'm overseas. Please see links below and comment once you've used them.

    https://photos.app.goo.gl/DL57ddd3oTAdQBsv9
    https://photos.app.goo.gl/iKhATh12WUypMCYJA

    • Thanks, took 2nd.
has photo been tested to work before?

      • Photo definitely works.
However some servo attendants may reject it. Depends if they care or not

      • +1

Can you also confirm back here once you use it just so I know I can relock again

        • no problem, wilco

        • @pepsicles Used voucher, thanks! ill try use the other one if no one has taken it too

        • @rainbowunicorn: go for it mate! Appreciate you getting back to us!

    • +2

This guy was selling fuel lock vouchers for $ 3 each!

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/401253

And you're giving it away for free??? You, sir, has restored my faith in humanity :)

    • Please cross theses out once they have been reddemed

      • Comments can't be edited once replied to.

  • I always send screen shots to my Mrs then after she scanned barcode on that pictures, my 7 app instantly unlock. Confirm: 100% WORK.

  • I'm overseas and I have 95 fuel that expires tomorrow.

    https://photos.app.goo.gl/vm4xR9VaJ7KuQ9oW9

    • -1

already expired … it's past 4.04am here in Australia

    • Also might wanna pm someone otherwise someone might have used it without knowledge and most users can get 98 for 137.7

  • Prices right now are ridiculous. Look at the ACCC graph, they're barely dropping, so my caltex vouchers are useless. boo!

    • +5

Use the Minto U98. Actually very good value.

      • My car has enough fuel to last until Thursday next week. Do you think I should lock into that Minto price or wait and see how much prices drop..? I'm concerned because the graphs don't show the prices dropping much at all this cycle.

        • It starts rising today. Some servos priced E10 to 165.9c/l already.

        • @Neoika: which city is that? The prices have barely dropped here.

        • @Levathian:
          Sydney

        • @tidie: Just looked at Petrol Spy, yep you're right. ULP91 @ $1.679 across the board, I assume Brisbane will be the same in a week or higher so I'll lock this one in.

edit: Minto's gone from the map! shit!

  • +7

    Diesel 127.9 11-Seven Emu Plains
Seems cheap if this is your fuel of choice.

    • Seems to be incorrect.

I tried locking in and it's showing 155.x now. I did check the price this morning too on the government fuel app and majority of them were howering around 155 mark. Must be an error from the station attendant side (I'm speculating atm)

  • Anyone having trouble finding Minto,NSW in 7-11 app? I could only find Ingleburn.

    • +2

I drove past the station, seems like they are refurbishing it. The whole station was closed down and fenced up.

      • +12

lol, that's probably why they were emptying their tanks of U98 !
But ended up clearing tanks all over Australia as well !

  • Minto isnt coming up for price locking RIP

    • Yup. RIP. And the price of ULP98 is probably going to be $1.80/L+ in the next few weeks. double rip.

      • Yeah, what a shame. It was good while it lasted. I was lucky to lock it in late last night, about the 5th time I locked that price over 5 days.

    • +1

      I've got a U98 voucher for 137.7 for 50L expires tomorrow 3pm. Any takers?

      • I'll take it! If available still of course 😁

        • +1

PM you. 5 Min response 😁 just a reminder that it's for 50L only.

        • +3

          @Sweetnsour:

Thank you. I saved just under $14 🙃

  • -4

Can you lock in and then delete it if its cheaper elsewhere? I have missed out on some good prices lately :(

    • Fill up 2L or wait for it to expire.

      • Yeah filled up at 155 then it drops to 137 straight after and i don't need fuel every week

        • +1

We only fill up every 2 weeks. so it's like playing the stock market. In that time have only prematurely locked in once!

        • @Rod71: Same but its still always cheaper than my local

  • +3

Looks like fuels is on the way up.

At Coles Express (Sydney), ULP91 is $1.609 and ULP98 is hovering around $1.909

Might pay to start locking in….while is still kinda cheap.

    • Coles has its own cycle.

But it is school hols this weekend, so not unexpected.

  • 7 11 Lurnea has E10 for 133.9 and U91 for 135.9 and u95 147.9 which is cheaper than Riverstone NSW. The last update at 9.58pm but at 11pm Lurnea is nearly a cent cheaper.

    • -3

Worth locking in? I'll need to fill up by end of next week….

      • +1

My crystal ball says yes. Aussie dollar dropping so that'll add to the price of oil.

But my crystal ball is only correct 50% of the time.

        • +3

Can confirm Ball is 100% correct 50% of the time.

  • -1

Can anyone login to the 7-11 app? I can't get through at the moment.

    edit: working now..

    • -1

No problems for me. Are you getting an error message?

      • -1

yes I did but can't remember what it was… but it's back to normal now. cheers

  • +3

Anyone want a 137.9 98 voucher for 30L or so?

    • Yes please!

      • Sent. Please let me know or @zooter know if you don't use it.

If its not used by 7 pm tonight i will give it to zooter.

    • i guess its too late now to get this, but how do you pass across vouchers?

      • +1

Screenshots. Mine from a few pages back is still available. Please use it as I'm still overseas and it expires today.

        • Thanks but reading the comments, looks like both have been taken and I probably won't be able to use this before 6 PM today, thanks aagin

        • @zooter: I've pm you. It's valid till 11pm tonight.

        • @Sweetnsour:

          thanks!

      • Will give the voucher to you if it has not been used by 7pm.

        • ta

        • edit: no longer required, got 1 from SweetnSour

        • If it still hasn't been used I can make use of it

  • +3

Saved $19 on a 3/4 tank fill up with the 137.7 U98 Minto lock. Attendant said "Shit!" and asked where I got it ahahah.

    • +1

The attendant I had was really trying to grill me over my $24.50 saving. Wanted to know when I had visited the store etc.

      • +1

        and how did you answer?

        • +2

Most of them just want to know how to do it for themselves. They are attendants and get paid same amount no matter what savings we get.

        • surely someone has told them about ozb?

        • +4

          @inamberclad:
First rule of ozbargain is never talk about ozbargain ;)

    • Wow, you must've fuelled up at an expensive station. I saved $9.99 on a full tank with the Minto lock. When displaying the voucher (scrolled down to only reveal the bar code), the attendant scrolled up, looked at the 137.7 lock, gave me eye contact and scrolled back down.

      • Even though its only the 7/11 app I feel its a bit intrusive that the attendant is scrolling on a customers phone. They have no right even if they are only curious. I always hold my phone and let them scan it out of my hand.

        • +1

I even had attendant touched the back button to make sure it was a legitimate lock before scanning so be aware if you use someone else screen shot

        • +2

@lgacb08: Seriously, why would they care? They shouldn't be touching your phone at all. I just get the voucher up, let them scan, tap gift card, pay, done.

        • +2

@nubzy: the staff member I had today told me if I had friends in Sydney they could lock and share the screen shot with me 🤣

        • Ring the head office and complian. They are not allowed to touch your phone. They can ask you to scroll it though etc apparently.

        • @Gomo: what is my 'friend' happens to be Nikolai Olivant Xanthum?

      • +1

Why would the attendant even care is what bemuses me.. Peasant mentality caring about the multinationals bottom line that is paying you peanuts.

  • -6

Whats the cheapest currently, we are getting $144.9 at st albans, victoria?

  • Lock now. Prices going up. Lowest in VIC 138.9

    • -1

      Where p98

  • +1

prices are out of control, rolled into my local 7/11 - U98 was 186.9/L… YERRRRR RIIIGGHHTT i said… filled up the beast at 137.7 courtesy of the Minto special, the attendant loved it. i almost enjoy their reaction more than the saving, almost. now just eyeing off a diesel bargain for the second car.

    • +1

This was a pleasure to read. Please write more stories about your 7/11 interactions.

      Not sarcastic.

    • Man imagine having a car with a 70L tank that needs ULP98, filling it to the brim @ $1.87/L. Attendant asks for $130, customer gives them a troll face look, scans code and price drops to $96.

  • +1

Saved $15.65 on a full tank with the Minto lock 😁

  • anyone after U91, its currently cheapest in Berkeley NSW at 135.9. Master's script is a bit behind at the moment.

  • I have a 137.7 (U98, 58 litres, Minto lock) which expires 24/9 12:11 AM. I could use it for 1/4 of a thank, but I think someone else can make better use of it. PM if interested.

    EDIT: Taken

    • Excuse my ignorance. But if you give away your voucher to someone on OzB, does that not mean they could just use up your credit rather than they pay with their cash/card?

      • +1

There is a separate barcode to scan if you want to use your 711 account balance. As long as only the fuel voucher is shared, there is no way your account balance can be 'stolen'

        • Oh ok. That makes sense. Is this the 1st barcode that is smaller on the screen rather than the one that takes up the whole screen?

  • Strange. The Minto 7-11 seems to be wiped off the app? Can anyone else confirm?

  • I’m using GPS Joystick and finding that at times the location isn’t accurate so the app can’t lock in a price. Unsure if it’s an issue with my device or app.

    • +1

its the app, i sometimes have to uninstall and reinstall the app and everything is fine after that, 1 or 2 weeks it happens again just reinstall the app again, it will be fine

      • Do you delete any of the app data or just uninstall and install?

        • i just unistall and install the app every time this happens, dont need to delete anything and they work just fine

  • +21

    U98 - 139.7 @ 11-Seven Coolaroo Coolaroo VIC

    • +6

Thanks. I'll pop by and lock it in :)

    • +2

That was fast. It's gone now.

      • +4

        Just worked for me

    • +1

      Thanks! Locked in.

    • +1

wow .. another nice price !
      Ta

    • +1

      always the day or 2 after i fill up I can't win…..

      • Full up half a tank next time.
You should be all right then

    • +1

Thanks! Saved $17 from filling up 37 litres and the attendant remarked that I got a good discount!

    • +1

Perfecto. Glad still working. Filled up with Minto lock. Locked again. Set safe for the next 7days. Thx for the news!

  • Any Android users wanna help me out here ….trying to get a location lock on Nokia 6.1 with Android Oreo 8.1.

    1) Installed Fake GPS from Lexa tools (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lexa.fakeg…)

    2) Then go to Settings > System > Developer options and select option for "Select mock location app" (https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/71725/62384/screenshot…)

    3) Set suburb to desired suburb in Fake GPS.

    4) Open 7 11 app and this error pops up first thing: https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/71725/62383/screenshot…

What am I doing wrong ?

    • +3

The 711 app won't work with location spoofed. Try installing the modified 711 apk.

    • -3

Won't work unless you have a rooted system.

      • +1

I don't know who negged me but I don't need the modified apk to work. I'm using GPS Joystick+Magisk for my example:

        1. Convert the GPS Joystick to system app, then in the settings enable system mode.
        2. In Magisk Manager-> Settings enable Magisk Hide, Then in Magisk Hide tick 7-Eleven Fuel.

That should be all the setup, after this you can use GPS Joystick to lock location then open 7-11 app without being detected both root and location spoofing.

    • +1

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/6330148/redir

Delete the app and install the one from above and try again.

      • ok thanks, are these apps for nox or smart phone ?

And did you modify them yourself ?

Edit: OK, I installed nox and loaded this app.
Changed Virtual position using controls on right hand side. This is awesome.

So, now I just use my normal 7-11 username/pass to log-in and upload credit card details etc …

Also, for anyone else who also uses Nox, do you leave the 7-11 app logged in on your smartphone of do you (have to) log out ?

        • +2

If you are using NOX, it's recommended to install the official app via the Play Store. This avoids the need to wait for a new modified APK if an update comes around. Using NOX's built in virtual location feature makes the app think you are really at the chosen location.

The only reason the modded APK exists is for people to use directly on their phones because the app detects the use of mock location software.

      • works on my phone.

Locked and ready to get A lllllload.

    • +3

To be honest you are better off just doing it via Nox. Doing it with the phone became too much of a headache, eventually it was impossible. Might be able to workaround by installing the modified APK, but too much stuffing around for me. NOX makes it really quick and easy, but of course you have to do it in advance on your pC.

      • +1

Yeah just installed Nox and can see the ease of doing it via PC.
Very painless, as compared to iOS and Android. I have both smartphones and surprise surprise, once jailbroken found the it easier thru iPhone !

  • Berkeley NSW showing 164.9 instead of 135.9

    • seems like the price jumped everywhere again… Lockin the u98 in vic everyone!!

There's no issues locking interstate and filling in nsw is there? they won't ban you right?

      • No.

      • no

      • -4

With so many people abusing the system, it is only a matter of time before they do start banning. At least lock in a price which is physically possible for you to get

        • +5

They won't ban people. This has been going for years now! They would be well aware that people are using this, but the proportion of people using the app vs paying pump price is still very VERY small. And, they are still making profit and getting more people to their servos. It is win win for everyone.

        • +1

          @nubzy:

The fact that they have blocked the use of fake GPS location software on Android devices says that they do care. Also, don't underestimate the popularity of Ozbargain and more people becoming aware

        • +1

          @Riker88:

I can see in the future they start doing deeper/harder checks with modified APKs as in serverside. But, lets hope not!

        • @Riker88: Master would probably know the popularity looking at his hosting Stats.

      • +2

Why would they ban you for driving to Victoria to lock in the price before running out of fuel and filling up after you drove back to Nsw?

    • Have we confirmed that the 7Eleven app is showing prices higher than actual?

  • +1

with the current prices I'm picking 98 over my usual E10 .. probably gives my engine a boost and clean at the same time.. all for a difference of 2c per ltr ..

    • -3

After 7-11 blocked the jail-broken apple device, I took my business to BP.. I am using BPme AMEX deal, and getting 25% discount

      • +2

BP-AMEX deal comes once every few months, unlike the 7-11 which is very few days.
It’s you who is missing out.
Install Liberty and AkLocationX, see the magic happen

        • is aklocationX ok for IOS11 electra? The description says for ios 6 and 7, also seems not been updated since 2014? Thanks

        • @DKC: still works

      • They've completely blocked it? Successfully?

        :(

        • semi-successfully, pretty easy to get around it with a flex patch

        • yeah they blocked, we no longer can fake it :)

          • @ujwols: I can lock in with fake locations on iOS here. 10.1.1, yalu + extra_recipe JB, Liberty 0.20.10 and LocationFaker(8,9,10,11) 2.2 on an iPhone 7 Plus.

  • nsw price gone ballistic. most pump at 165.9. rip, why. tell me when will this back down to ~120?

    • I've not heard a mention in the media about these sky rocketing prices.

    • Welcome to the great fuel rip-off. It started in qld a week ago.

  • Coles Rouse Hill is 190.9 for U98.
Reckon petrol will hit $2.00 a litre before 2019 comes around ?
Would look bad for the Govt. just before polls

    • Not really.. News doesn't use u98 as it's headline grabbing petrol price number.

      • I just meant any petrol touching the $2.00 mark.

But you bet, if and when it does, News will still be all over it……

    • I always find that the Coles around my area are always at a premium. Constantly sitting at around 170-180 for 98 even through the low cycles

    • +1

Coles Brunswick East, Vic has 91 @ $1.719/L and 98 @ $1.949/L so I think 98 hitting $2/L is highly likely. Many other stations have the same pricing according to petrol spy.

      • +1

Here in South East 7-11 are 159 for U91, there's been a massive spread of prices for the school holiday hike!

        • We're at the bottom of the cycle too. If the low is ~$1.50, what's the next high gonna be? :(

    • +2

Yep, theres the twin effect of OPEC strangling supply to successfully drive up oil prices (about 40% this year U believe) and the fall of the $AU. The $au is tipped to reach $us0.65 early-mid next year. So the price will likely be in the high $1's in a few nonths.

Note that ~40% of the pump price is due to tax. So an increase in the wholesale price is exacerbated by the natural tax increases as well.

anybody has unused voucher that they are unable to use over this weekend?

    • which fuel?

      • -2

        98

    • +1

      I have one.

  • +1

My 7-eleven APK is telling me my version (sans spoof-checker) is no longer supported, and redirects me to the Play Store
    Anyone have any suggestions? :)

  • I have a voucher that I have to use by tomorrow. Can I use it for two different cars if I refuel one after another, using the same pump? In my head there is no problem but I am wondering if there is something I cannot see here. Has anyone tried that?

    • +1

I have done it many times, no issue, as long as you don't put the pump back into the bowser between cars.

      • Does the pump going back into the Bowser lock it down?

        • +3

Putting the pump down resets it so you will only get the discount on the first car. I park both cars next to the same pump, one on either side, so I can reach both with the same fuel hose.

          • @billy_bob: Very nice

          • @billy_bob: Thanks. I will try that tomorrow.

            • @this is us: I managed to refuel both cars, no problems. The guy doesn't seem interested in how people use their vouchers.
              I used 50 litres from 57 that I had locked (U98). From 92.22 to 69.30 (22.92 discount).
Hopefully, I will be able to lock again in the next two weeks or so.

          • @billy_bob: How did you drive both cars to the station?

            • +5

@alo1234: I drove one car and my wife drove the other. Not rocket science….

              • @billy_bob: Love it
Shame my wife is not a willing participant to this type of ozbargaining

                • @Peanut money: Use 2 accounts :)

                  • @cwongtech: Thanks

Was more commenting on the level of commitment
Right now I’m smashing out 25% off fuel from Amex promo at bp Servos and salary sacraficing gross amount

    • Sometimes the attendant will say only one car. It's really defendant on them. I fill up Jerry cans no problems. But have encountered them saying no to the second car. If attempting this, try and park them back to back instead of filling one up and driving off and moving other car in.

      • Maybe just get two accounts :)

  • +4

    I have a voucher 35 l +98 at 139.7 will be expired 5pm tomorrow.any one wants it pm me

  • +2

Voucher send to Joe888. No more sorry

  • +1

I have a voucher expiring at 10:30 AM for 36L. Send me a PM, if not tonight, I'll send it through at 8:30.

    Edit: sent

Anyone struggling to lock in? I get an error stating "the fuel type you selected is not available near you current location"…

    • my friend just had this issue. But I locked in right now after hearing from him through NOX

    • +1

I am also getting the same error on NOX. Had anyone found any workarounds. Thanks.

    • sorry this is an old post, but did anyone find a fix for this?

      • +1

Try a different GPS spoofing app.

Or ignore the error and keep trying to initiate the search.

        • thanks for the suggestions bro :) got it to work

      • If this helps anyone else: removed app through play store on NOX and reinstalled. resigned in… Seemed to work. Could also try a complete Reinst. NOX eventually worked though

  • +1

My 7-11 apk is working with Fake GPS, no problems.

  • -2

Has anyone ever used the price-lock interstate? Lock-in inside QLD or VIC and use it in NSW?
Do you get banned? What happens to money on 7eleven app gift-card?

    • +1

We all do it, sorta the whole idea of using the fake GPS :) No ban…yet

You can pay at the counter via your loaded $$ on the app or by cash or card (I recommend cash or card so you dont have to keep topping up the loaded $$ onto the app)

      • -1

But don't you have to have sufficient credit in your 7/11 to lock in a price?

        • +1

          You do need.

        • Yes the app has to be loaded with sufficient credit (if you want to lock in $100 worth of fuel, you need $100 worth of app credit), but when you go to pay for fuel at counter tell them you want to you use your card or cash rather than loaded app money.

You'll have to fork out the loaded app money initially but you can use it any time you like (but as I said easier leaving it in the account so you don't have to keep loading money onto it).

  • Trying to lock in fuel using Nox on my computer.

It worked fine the first time, then tried another account and after I select how much fuel and press to lock in, nothing happens. I just see the browser kinda pulse ?

    • +1

It's 2 locks within 24 hrs per android ID.
Your NOX has one android ID.
Use multi-instance to get a second one.

  • Just locked into that $1.359/L price. Looking at petrol price trends, locking in at the $1.30s will probably be a rare event in the future. Most stations aren't going below $1.45/L here, even at the low point.

Damn I want the $1.10/L prices of 2016 back :(

    • $40 a barrel of oil back then…now $105 a barrel.

Add fuel duty, retailer margin and 10% GST and the 23% increase in retail price doesn't look so bad.

It was $125 a barrel in 2013 so we could still go even higher….or lower. Oil markets are volatile.

      • +3

Add in a weakening AUD that just hit 72 cents to the USD and potential regulatory change to address the massive amount of sulfur in Australian fuel standards and $2 will be the norm if oil prices go back to their previous highs.

  • Anyone having trouble logging in or is it just me?

    • +2

      Looks like you only

      • Cheers fixed it now.

  • -4

Anyone have any spare vouchers that is below 155/l for Special unleaded? Please PM me

    • +1

E10 or U91 for Special unleaded?
      E10 137.4
      U91 139.4
Can lock for you immediately. PM if youneed it.

    • +5

Just lock it in yourself. Special Unleaded (U91) is 139.4 at Sinnamon Park QLD.

    • +9

I'd be more than happy to lock it in for you, mate. Just send me your account username and password and I'll lock in the cheapest fuel I could get.

  • -3

I'm having troubles with the modified 7/11. It keeps saying that it can't locate my location

    • What have you done to get it to show that? What steps have you followed?

      • Mine is working fine on 5 of the phones I have set it up on for.

      • Mate, tbh not sure. I have a oneplus 3 which was recently updated, other than nothing else. Haven't updated gps hack and using the modified apk from here.

Not sure what's up with the negs. :(

        • +1

Have you tried to turn it off and on again?
Also update fakegps free if you have it, one of my phones needed to update that.

  • +1

My local station is $1.69 for unleaded never seen it that high !

    • Yup. The last 'high' hit $1.629/L and at the time I thought that was crazy now the peak is 7c higher.

      • My Tesla can't come quick enough :(

        • what'd you buy?

          • @blehgg: Deleted…. was meant to reply to Gomo.

          • @blehgg: Haven't yet… still thinking and thinking.. I Currently drive a Holden Cruze 2014 1.4T which I've owned since new, sitting on 224,000km I'll avg around 40,000 ~ 50,000km per year need it to hold on until more options come available

        • @ Gomo: Even with fuel at $2 a litre it would take many, many years to make up the cost premium you are paying for a Tesla electric vehicle vs a similarly specced petrol/diesel vehicle. And you have to live with range anxiety every time you want to go away for the weekend.

          • +1

@billy_bob: @Billy_Bob I drive Uber full time, my petrol use for a week is roughly $230 a week, roughly $10,000+ per year in my world.

I'm interested in Model 3 Which still has no confirmed pricing, if it's $55k that will work with me, long term investment before a positive return lots of pro's & con's too especially range and charging stations.. lots to think about.. My thoughts is over the next year or two we will see more EV Cars on the road even cheaper than $50k

            • @Gomo: Worth doing uber full time? Doesn't it work out less than $20 per hour. Plus the cost of wear and tear on vehicle.

Refuelling an empty petrol car takes 10 minutes. Recharging an electric car takes 1.25 hours from empty to full. Now is the trade off worth it? Could picked up 1-3 more rides.

              • @Sweetnsour: If I had an electric car you'd set times you go offline to charge it and have lunch 😉 all about planning! In terms of $$ it's all over the place and everyone's earnings are different!

              • +4

@Sweetnsour: @Sweetnsour + @Gomo, Recharging on the original 85 kWh Tesla Model S takes 75 minutes (1.25hrs) to 100%, but that is only at one of the Tesla Supercharging stations that are scattered across the country. Recharging at home will take 9-10 hours.

                Also, I did the sums:

Cost of fuel to run a Ford Mondeo diesel for 50,000 kms per year = $4240 (based on 5.3 L/100km, and diesel at $1.60/L).

Cost of electricity to run a Tesla model 3 for 50,000 kms per year = $2,142 (based on 30c/kWh, range of 350km from 50kWh battery).

Mondeo diesel can be bought for ~$35,000 while Tesla Model 3 will cost at least $60,000 in Australia. So it will take at least 12 years to make up the difference. Also factor in that Mondeo will maintain the same fuel economy throughout it's life whereas the Tesla battery will degrade after 2-3 years and get much reduced range per charge (and therefore cost per km will also increase over time.

Please don't take my comments as bashing on electric cars because I agree they are the way of the future, but right now they still don't make much economic sense for most people.

                • @billy_bob: Tesla claim to have lifetime warranty on the battery should anything happen, your still right tho in terms of long term and upfront costs

Even hybrids might come out cheaper which will again change the market

        • But u also gotta factor in maintenance costs. My concern with Tesla is that you need to return to Tesla for servicing and parts. That may mean they have a monopoly on the pricing for parts. Small players won't necessary have access to the equipment.

I still want one though. No more bloody oil changes. However I'm gonna miss the noise of the petrol engine.

          • +4

            @Sweetnsour:

However I'm gonna miss the noise of the petrol engine.

Im sure you can install an app for that.

          • +1

@Sweetnsour: I can confirm a Telsa Model S Will set you back $900 roughly every 20,000km for servicing, lots of thinking because how much would you have spent to drive 20,000km on a petrol car ?

  • Does anyone have a voucher for U91 that they aren't going to use? I've been topping up 10L to try and get me through for when prices dip to a reasonable number but I need to do a big trip tomorrow. Thank you

    • $1.399 at Jimboomba, Brisbane. Will probably go up tomorrow. Lock it in while you can.

      • why do you think it'll go up?

        • +3
        • Because almost every other station in Brisbane has.

And its gone up to $1.69 too.

          • @ol mate: Back to $1.399 at Jimboomba now. Current cheapest price Australia-wide.

            • +1

@donga100: Woolies 4c voucher + e-gift payment works out better at these prices

              • +1

@RRtm: I always consider that but where I live the three closest Woolies and Coles servos are at $1.69

      • You were right.. glad i listened

  • My NOX (mac) keeps crashing on start up :( it gets to 99% on the loading bar then a window comes up saying "System fail to start click here for solution.". Anyone had a similar issue..? :( the page it links to doesn't help.

    • Do you use any kind of VM on your mac?

    • +3

SBOBs comment helped me when I had that issue

    • disable hyper v

    • Did you find a solution ? I upgraded to Mojave and am running into this issue.

  • Anyone know what's happening with diesel prices? It's been 159.9 for almost a week now, not budging.

    • Totally not rigged at all…. nothing to do with the fact that it's school holidays…

Luckily I locked in at 143.9 just before the holidays, and 14 69 just into the holidays to cover our road trip, but I'm getting low now!

    • +2

I found that it's cheaper to just go to Woolworths with 4c voucher and 5% off Giftcards.

My local Woolworths was the same as 7/11 (159.9)

      • That is what I will be doing unless things change. Unleaded petrol appears to be doing fine however.

  • What's the cheapest u98? The flagstone central store says 1.57 on the site but when i try lock it in it says 1.87. RIP

  • +3

    have you tried Shell Harbour?

Its a few cent more than the suggested Flagstone Central price but, heaps cheaper than the actual $1.87 price.

  • Why has flagstone central disappeared from the app? :(

    • It's been Ozbargained!

    • It's probably closed down.

  • -2

sick of waiting for cheaper 7/11 i had to line up like a chump at the local costco… 152/litre for diesel… it'll have to do for now ;(

  • I saved $13.40 on a 40L tank of fuel yesterday, was so thankful for that. Hopefully this one lasts me through to the next low…

  • flagstone is 169.9 now. don't border. new low cycles around is about $1.45ish. sad…

  • +9

Diesel at 145.9 in Newtown QLD.

    • +1

But the app does not seem to want to search this station to lock in. I have set the fake gps app to newtown but it wont detect the newtown 7-11 only further stations that are more expensive. Anyone else notice this?

      • Yep, same for me, on Android phone, only finds 159.9 price ?

      • +1

you sure it's newtown qld and not nsw

        • +1

There is no 7-11 in Newtown NSW. Petrol Spy shows Newtown QLD has 145.9. Maybe you are in the wrong Newtown QLD? It is the one with postcode 4350.

          • +1

@donga100: Thanks, that was the problem. All good, locked in now.

          • +1

@donga100: There's one in Toowoomba and one in Ipswich. Maybe we need a postcode column on master131's webpage as well… Damn and the postcodes are 4350 and 4305, could they make it any more confusing!?!?!

  • Is there a way to only get notifications when prices are low?

  • anyone have a spare voucher for 91/98 they can pm me? i can't lock in today since i'm not going to be at my computer for NOX. any amount will do, kinda desperate because i forgot to lock in :(

    • +2

if you pm me ur account details, I can lock in for you.

      • +2

        +1
I can do it too for anyone who wants it.

  • +5

U98 153.9 at Glen Waverley(VIC). Slight relief who needs U98 desperately.
Update - sorry ignore it as I checked on app and it is not showing that price.

    • +1

      Cheers cobba, locked in!

    • Thanks. Not desperate yet (half tank) but locked anyway. Not sure we will get anything better than that for the next 7 days.

    • Check again, I just locked in 153.9 for 98. Thanks!

      • Yeh. It went off momentarily and came back. :)

    • +2

There are 2 7-11 in Glen Waverly. 396-398 Blackburn Road is the one with the lower 98 price

    • If you were in Mount Waverley you should be able to lock U98 for 153.9
There are a few 7-Elevens in the Glen Waverley area.

      • +1

        It's gone!

        • Same!

Next best seems to be Shellharbour for 6c more. That 6c/litre is gonna sting, bad.

    • Cheers locked in and just filled up 60ltrs saved $14.

  • Confirmed that it's gone. Still showing up on the ProjectZeroThree as 153.9 :(

    • All prices are correct as of 12/10/18 12:25 (Melbourne/Sydney time).

  • The absurd prices in QLD have finally convinced me to try this out.

What are the odds of 7/11 here actually accepting my price lock from Shell Harbour NSW? Don't really want to go and try to fill my tank if they're going to charge me the full 170c/L anyway.

    • +5

      they will accept it dw

    • +2

I fill up 1-2 times per week in QLD no problems.

    • +1

Thanks, I'll give it a go.

      • +1

They won't know where you locked in from and it's none of their business either really.

    • I live in Perth and lock in prices from every where but Perth.

    • In QLD and have been locking out-of-state for 2 years+

  • Damn should have locked in the diesel price wen it went down :(
and I need some now too.

    • +1

Diesel prices do not have cycles. If you see a cheaper than normal price, lock immediately as it is most likely an error.

    • +1

A good explanation (even if the Perth cycle days are out of date) of why diesel doesn't have a price cycle. Link.

  • +7

U95 147.9 at Karingal, Vic, if someone is after U95.

    • Script might be inaccurate here. Karingal shows up at 159.9 for me.

Edit: Price was updated at 9:18. Discount over! boo

      • Damn, got it in time for me then!

  • +2

Sydney prices are on the rise already…

    • +1

Not sure why I got negged. I locked U91 at 141.9 and now look at it…

      • someone venting lock-in-remorse on you?

      • Now the lowest is 143.9 rip

What price are they going up to? 169.9? 171.9?

        • +1

Woolworths Caltex is at $1.659 in Melbourne.

I was lucky to find a Woolworths Caltex at $1.459…less 4c per litre and less 5% GC thru Cash Rewards. Cost per liter works out to be $1.348

    Diesel 109.9 at Mornington, VIC

    Diesel 109.9 @ 11-Seven Mornington Vic

  • Price error?

    • I assume so. Could be an illegally underpaid worker getting their revenge.

  • +2

Oh yeah locked in that sweet 109.9 diesel, thanks for the Google script Master!

    • +12

At 109.9 i'd almost fill up my petrol vehicle with diesel. ;)

      • Just figure out how to diy hydrocrack diesel and you'll be set. I'm not 100% about the ROI time though :/

  • And it looks like the diesel price is gone! Congrats to all that got it!

  • Just put $40 in at Tuggerah 7-11, if I had known it was the cheapest in Australia I would've filled up + Jerry cans lol

143.9 is the best in Australia for 91 @ 7-11??

    • I always use Jerry cans…

  • +23

    !!!! ULP91 137.9 @ TRUGANINA, VIC !!!!

    LOCK IT IN EDDY!!

    ULP98 @ 155.5!!

        • +1

Special Unleaded locks in at 137.5, same area

          • @jobski: Oops yeah it says 137.5 on masters page too, I misread. Sorry. Can't edit my post.

    • Thankyou, locked in.
I have been starting to use the prepaid BP cards since there hasnt been any 7/11 deals recently

    • -1

Cost per L would be much the same if you use woolies with 4c/l discount plus 5% discounted wish gift cards. Difference ends up being around 0.1-0.2c/l.

      • This price is 25c/L cheaper than most servos near me are offering 91 for though. It's a steal- below terminal gate prices too!

        • +1

Around the Melb CBD and eastern suburbs there are a number of WW petrol with discounted 91 at 145.9 and Maribyrnong at 141.9. Less 5% = 138.6 & 134.8 respectively. In this example it's either 0.7c/L more or potentially cheaper, so just saying it might not necessarily be cheaper or worth the drive to lock in.

          • +1

            @mrbargainhunter: …drive to lock in?

            • @RRtm: Worth the drive to use a lock in if it's not your nearest servo

              • @mrbargainhunter: I don't think anyone here drives anywhere to lock in a price.

                • @shiznit: I think he meant driving to 7-11 further away to use a lock in. Sounds like Mrbargainhunter lives closer to woolies petrol than 7-11

But ymmv. Many us are professional ozbers. Amateurs ozb don't do maths. The pros know their maths

But I prefer 7-11. I can refuel any time as opposed to waiting for low cycle in my town.

                  • @Sweetnsour: Spot on! I consider myself a pro Ozb, especially since my profession is heavily mathematical.
I use both WW and 7-11 depending on price and proximity, hence my comment.

          • @mrbargainhunter: Weird, it's almost like not everyone lives near the Melbourne CBD?

            • -1

@brendanm: I said Melb CBD and eastern suburbs - that's a pretty big region of Greater Melbourne. Weird that not many people would live in such a significant area…

              • -2

@mrbargainhunter: Weird,it's almost like not everyone lives in Melbourne? I personally don't drink enough soy lattes so can't live there unfortunately :(

                • @brendanm: That's such an old trope. It's all about Almond Magics now.

          • @mrbargainhunter: I still have a bunch of caltex vouchers I purchased a few months ago at 9.9% off, but I'm finding all the Caltexes aren't reducing their prices much so 7/11 it is! I think they're valid through to 2022 or 2023.

  • Does this app or the modified app have any issue working in Android 8.0(Oreo) with FakeGPS? My phone is notifying me to upgrade to Oreo. However I'd rather keep to the current version which works if people are having issues making this work in 8.0. I have HTC

    • I updated a couple days ago to 8.0.0 and just locked in today using the same APK FakeGPS method with no issue.

    • It works in Oreo.

    • Thanks

    • In case anyone is wondering, it works on Android Pie (v9.0) too

  • I seem to recall doing it ages ago, but is there a way to lock in two different fuel types at the same time on the same account? ie E10 and Diesel?

    • +1

      Unfortunately no

    • You would have to have two accounts, but those accounts would need their own gift card

  • +3

U91 for 137.5 in Truganina VIC.
Considering the prices at Hoppers Crossing just nearby are 149.2 and Point Cook already up to 169.9, it's worth a 'drive' there if you need to lock and fill up soon.

In my area it never dropped below 146 this cycle.

  • +2

Looks like the Terminal price hit its peak in Fri 12th ~$1.47/ULP and down to $1.43 last fri
So the $1.69/ULP jump seems pretty excessive. It should start dropping soon. Looks like Truganina VIC is losing money.

    • Terminal gate price isn't what 7-11 pays!

Terminal gate price is what a normal (no contract) small customer can buy for when they turn up with their own tanker. Eg: a construction company that buys a full load and arranges their own transport.

      • Has anyone confirmed who pays for the fuel lock discount? Is it the franchisee or 7/11 HQ?

  • +25

    U98 142.9c @ 11-Seven Waverley Gardens, Mulgrave, VIC

    Thanks to Master.

    • Damnit. I already have my main acct locked in for 1.375 @ 50L for 91. My car is one of those "designed for 95 but runs fine, albeit slower, on 91" cars and the extra $2.70 for 98 over 91 would be worth it.

      • Just create a 2nd account.

        • I already have one. I guess I can give the code away if I don't want to use it anyway.

          • @Levathian: I can also give out my voucher for 98 @ 155.5/L if anyone is interested

          • @Levathian: 2L min delivery to clear it if you really want the 142.9

            • @cwongtech: I ended up topping up my 2nd acct. Guess I don't need to top up anything for the next month now :P

          • -1

@Levathian: Can I have the voucher plz?

    • Thanks! Locked in.

    • Yes, Thanks Master, locked in, luckily I didn't lock in at 1.55 earlier.

    • Looks like it's gone back up now

How's this for dummies guide for an Android device?

    1. Install and Register your account https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=au.com.fuel7el…

    2. Credit account with total amount your of fuel your car needs plus bit extra

    3. Remove app

    4. Install modified 7-11 app https://my.mixtape.moe/bxctuj.apk

    5. Log in and then close app

    6. Install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lexa.fakeg…

    7. Find cheapest price for fuel Projectzerothree.info

    8. Work out where the area is on google maps

    9. Run fake gps and follow instructions to turn on fake gps location i.e. Phone settings/developer options/mock location app/fake gps. Set location to that shown in google maps and press the play button

    10. Run 7-11 app and lock in price.

    11. Go to Phone settings/developer options/mock location app/no app this will stop fake gps location showing in the likes of Google maps.

    12. Can close fake gps and 7-11 app

    13. In future you only need to repeat steps 6-11

    • +2

      6 to 11 or 7 to 11?

      How appropriate is that? 7/11

    • for fake gps app am getting this error msg "server response: OVER_QUERY_LIMIT" while trying to get location.

  • Cant get any simpler than that. Nice one!!

  • -9

Anyone had any experience getting a refund of credit on the app? Going overseas for a year and won't need the app so thinking its best to just get the funds returned.

    • +4

Doubt you can get a refund. Can you get a refund from purchasing a gift card from another store - not likely. Need to spend the money instore - buy some fuel, buy lots of slurpies. May be able to buy a physical gift card (and sell that to someone?)

    • How long does your credit last on the 7/11 app? I've only topped it up once and pay with my CC. Cheers!

      • +1

        36 months

        • Thanks mate!

        • +1

I thought it didnt expire if topped up by CC but did have an expiry if topped up by GC?

          • @KingJuf: Correct. Gift cards have an expiry of 3yrs so you have just "loaded" it onto the app rather than spending it. No expiry on credit card as it is your money, not a gift card you purchased.

            • @syba:

No expiry on credit card as it is your money, not a gift card you purchased.

No idea where you got that information from. As soon as you load funds onto the app even with a credit card, those funds are now a 7/11 gift card with 36 months expiry.

              • @brandogs: Been discussed before. They are 2 different things. One is a 7-11 'gift' card and the other is a reloadable 7-11 card. You can use a gift card to top up your 7-11 card. Please show me where it says your reloadable 7-11 card will expire and not make reference to a 'gift' card.

                • @syba: It's on the receipt when you use it to pay.

                  • @shiznit: FYI, text copied from my last receipt:

                    Hey there,
                    Just a heads up.
Your 7-Eleven Card account is all topped up and ready to go. Use it for fuel, $1 Coffees, Krispy Kremes, Slurpees and more awesomeness.
                    7-Eleven Card: ******
                    Credit/Debit Card: ******
If you didn't top up your card, keep calm and email us here to straighten things out.

      • 24 months. It is stated in the 2nd half of the App’s T&C under the “Reloadable 7-Eleven Card Terms & Conditons” section, item 6. Expiry Date

        1. Expiry Date

6.1. Expiry dates can be found on the receipt or voucher when purchasing a gift card or when using Gift Card to purchase products in a 7-Eleven store.

6.2. The expiry date is 24 months from the later of the date of issue or the last time the card was used to purchase goods and/or services. Any changes to the expiry date will be printed on the 7-Eleven receipt or voucher each time the card is used. Expiry dates can also be viewed by logging into your registered account at www.7eleven.com.au/giftcards or by calling 7-Eleven Customer Service on 1800 247 711.

6.3. A reloadable7-Eleven Card cannot be used after its expiry date. Any Card Balance that has not been used (that is, redeemed) at expiry is reduced to zero and can no longer be used. No refunds are provided for any unused Card Balance at expiry.

Just saved $31.20 with the diesel lock in. Thanks everyone 😁

    • did the attendant say anything? Second time for me using it and saved $15 but the attendant made convo to try suss out how I got it, kinda awkward.

      • I had an attendant ask me once and I told him I locked it when I was down in Melbourne visiting friends.

        • yeh was considering saying that I work in and out over east but when he asked last night I just said "up north" haha.

        • Most of the time, I lock in the price just before getting into my car to fill up. So its a little sus when I lock in a Melbourne price (I'm from Sydney) and it says 6 days 23 hours and 50 minutes before expiry :P

      • Nah, nothing!
The POS did crap itself and rebooted the first time he scanned the code and I got a little concerned but the second time worked fine, no questions asked :)

      • I don't answer them. You have no obligation to talk to them.

Merged from (VIC) Unleaded petrol @136.9 at 7 eleven Truganina
    Go to Deal

From last couple of days it was 137.9 and today its 136.9… All other 7-Eleven stations selling at 164.9 at the moment… So locking can save 28¢/litre.

It's next to the United petrol station , which was on ozbargain a week back.

I know it's already late, sorry for that.. If it helps few people atleast, I'm happy.

    • +7

Now for 7/11 Truganina to run dry of U91. Hope for them to sell their U98 matched at U91 bowser price.

      Fingers crossed

      • +5

I don't think they'll sell 98 at the 91 price if they run out of 91.
Stations like Waverly Garden that sell 98 at 91 price do so because they have 91 and 98 but not 95 pumps.
If Truganina runs dry of 91, they might sell 95 at the same price, which I'll be grateful for too :)

        • I agree with the logic.
(I've never been to Truganina 7/11)

  • Anyone have any spare 91 for some reason I am getting an error adding credit to my account and can't lock in.

Anyone having issues logging in with Nox?

    • Getting mostly the "golf error"….not sure what's happening…have they caught onto it?

      • i cant log in…….just keeps on trying to login…….

        • I can't log in either. :(

          • @lightcn: Same "golf error"

            • @SaveTheManuals: They better not have!!!

              • @Levathian: In my experience, the golf error occurs if your phone uses the Virgin mobile network. When it tries to update the offers list, there's some random anomaly for Virgin customers. The only work around their customer service had (some months ago) was to put the phone in flight mode and connect to Wi-Fi. I still have to do this every time I want the offers page to update. Rather inconvenient but the petrol savings are worth it! Hasn't previously affected locking in though.

                • @mrbargainhunter: I googled that earlier and read that part as well however, as Nox is an android emulator, I'm not sure this can be done.

                • @mrbargainhunter: I experienced this error trying to log in via the Telstra mobile network yesterday. Later logging on with my Telstra ADSL/WiFi worked however. Suspect problem is not related to just Virgin

                  • @Riker88: I experienced the issue when account is logged into two devices at once. I resolved the issue by logging out the account from one device then tried logging in from a different device.

      • Anyone sorted this "golf" error with Nox?

  • saved 17.85 today. Thanks

Haha you're asking a bit much. But good luck anyway!

      • I can't even remember the last time 98 was at or below 142.9

      Share?
      You mean give??

    • +9

Only got 98 for 143.0 sorry it doesn't meet your criteria.

  • -1

I did say if you are not using it..

    • U also said "share"

      • Potato "potato" sue me. Geez.

        • Get your own fuel lock. Geez.

          • -5

@cwongtech: Sorry to hurt you so bad. Obvious I hit your nerves. You can cry if you like.
You have 10 Seven Eleven accounts, good on you. I wonder how many ozbargain accounts ?.. is that how you neg people.

            • @wchau: 1 ozbargain account, I don't need to resort to low life tactics to neg you, using one up is actually a waste, your comments aren't worthy of even of one neg.

The ozbargain community can speak for themselves.

I actually have much more accounts under my management, all with 142.9cpl locks, but all are provisioned for one car each.

            • -2

@wchau: Guys.. i think we have found BRODEN !! hehe

  • -4

    Why waste it right..

    • +5

The neggers are trying to tell you they would prefer to waste the voucher than give you a free lock

  • The 142.9 was available on the 21st Oct.. i was alerted but was already sleeping . It alerted at close to 11pm.. so missed it when reading it on my phone in the morning.. why neg ? Some people have 2 accounts and double lock.. asking doesnt hurt.. you never know if you dont ask.

    • Don't be hurt for receiving negs.
Too many msgs from you in the past hour.
      You are getting too emotional.

      Open a classified ad?
WTB u98 voucher lock less than 143 for $2?

      You make me laugh

    • -2

      You snooze you lose.
People have 2 accounts because they have that many cars.
Each account requires a deposit of around $60+ for the fuel locks to be significant.
Not to mention significant amounts of time and effort to set it up.
I myself own 4 accounts, provisioned for 4 cars, and manage over 10 accounts.

No one has spare deposits or accounts lying around for lazy leechers.

      Get your own fuel lock.

      • Its not about being lazy. I put my alert on.. i contribute to patreon. sometime you might not use it cause you are already full or didnt drive much.. and its wasted if not used. If you dont have.. no worries.. no one forcing you. Take it easy man .. some angry souls here man.

      • Did you also write your own script to check for the cheapest prices? Or are you leeching off master's work?

        • I donate to his server costs every month. Do you?

  • -4

You so easily offended . Relax bro. I saw others offering previously and its cool.. you probably the one negging. Chill man. Not like im asking for a million bucks.

    • The only comment you post in this thread is to leech

      • -5

Sorry if it offended you. Geez. Calm down bro.

        • Troll recommend not replying

  • +4

    So much pettiness.

    • +11

Definitely. I thought the whole point of Ozbargain was to share bargains. So I'd be happy to offer a voucher that's about to expire if I don't need to use it.

It would be nice to think that if I ever needed one in return I might be able to politely ask the Ozbargain community for one, but it looks like I'd be negged to hell for doing so.

      • I absolutely agree with this sentiment.

      • share the codes and vouchers, you won't lose anything. but if you send the screen shot of the locked price, you would lose your deposit.

        • What do you mean?

        • The money in your account is under a separate barcode, which you can see if you tap on "my card". So it's perfectly safe to send a fuel voucher to a grateful stranger.

          • @shiznit: It's my bad, I thought if I send a screen shot to someone, they can use my deposit to pay for fuel.

      • +3

Thanks for this comment. It encapsulates exactly what has happended especially when the request was if you werent using it..and it would get wasted still they would give you the finger what ever happened to being nice ? Analogy - you are on a plane and have to throw away a mango before going through customs.. some one asks for it to eat.. you then go and say.. get your own mango. Surely being nice cant be a bad thing.. Instead saying all sorts of crap about laziness and leech follow. . End up with a wasted mango and you being disgruntled for what ? Be nice , one day a favour comes back at you when you in need. BUT Of course they dont believe that ..

Can’t log in to 7-Eleven on Nox, error “Golf” or “Foxtrot”.
Attempted to log out of 7-Eleven on devices and then log on to Nox, but still having the same issue, won’t let me log on. Happened to 2 friends, on Mac and on PC. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    • Do you need help locking?

      • Yes, it’s not letting me log in to lock, not working on any of our accounts nor computer.
Do you have any solution by any chance?

        • Has to be android - use freighter's modded apk.

    • Same error here.

    • Try reset password.
Had this happen to me before and I called up 7/11 they said my account was fine and to try reset password.

    • You're not alone mate. Been trying for about a 2 days now and I can't seem to login via nox either. I can log in via my phone but can't do the location thing on it so it's been painful.

Password reset, home wife and etc all don't seem to work :(

    • +1

      Getting same error message.

Tried resetting password and no luck.

    • Yeah tried the reset pwd too and it’s not working..

    • When I cleared the cache for 7-Eleven, there’s a message that popped up saying:

      System requirements
This application will be dropping support for Android versions less than version 6 (lollipop). Please upgrade Android version to continue using app.

Is this what’s causing the issue?

      • It might be.

When i check the Version information, it says V6.0.0.0

        No updates available on NOX.

  • +14

    Hey All,

Finally figured out a different way to lock in fuel as I kept getting either the "Golf" or "Foxtrot" error on Nox. So I downloaded a different program, which seems to be cleaner and easier to use. I'll list the steps below.

    1. Download Bluestacks (android emulator) bluestacks.com
    2. Sign into Google through the app.
    3. Download 7/11 fuel app & Google Maps
    4. Open Google maps within the Bluestacks and locate the "Set Location" button. Should be 3rd from the bottom right hand side of the screen.
    5. Click on it and set your desired location.
    6. Login and lock in your petrol price as per normal.

Truganina is still the lowest for me at this point.

    Hope that helps!

    :D

    • Thanks mate.

Will give this a shot tomorrow.

    • How will you screenshot it in the emulator.

      • +1

You don't.. The voucher shows up when you login into your app on the phone.

      • Tarken is correct. I have the phone app as well so I just login via the phone after locking it and then it just shows up. If the voucher still shows up on the eemulator then I just log out and login and I'd be free to lock in again.

I knew of the screenshot function in Nox but I never used it as it seemed like it was less efficient for me. I suppose you could find a screenshot app if you really want to do it that way too.

        • If you can have the app on your phone, whats the point of using an emulator?

      • It's easier for me to lock in using a PC as I'm on it more than I am on my phone. Also because I've tried doing that fake gps thing and I could never get it to work so I just left it.

    • I'm not able to locate the "Set Location" button. Do you have a screenshot?

    • @lightcn I'm unsure if I'm getting this issue since I'm using a Mac.

      I don't have a "set location" button.

  • +16

I was able to lock on NOX this morning, but I was using the latest version of Android that NOX has available (7.1.2). This is how to do it, hopefully this helps!

    1) Run Nox Multi-Drive (Not the normal NOX shortcut, this has coloured bits on the side of the icon)

    2) Click add emulator

    3) Click Add emulator-Android 7.1.2

    4) Download and run the emulator.

    5) Sign in to your Google account and install 711

    • +5

Unless you use a mac, in which case you're a bit stuck…

    • Thanks!

    • MVP right here

    • Worked a treat.

      Thanks @IceCreamBandit

    • +1

      This works 100%.

But you need to have the latest version of Nox to get the ability to add the 7.1.2 emulator.

The latest version is 6.5.2 and available here:

      Nox 6.5.2

  • +1

I was able to login with Nox after a fresh install, but it did not allow me to lock any fuel with the error "Fuel Type not available in your area". And when it finally let me get to the fuel prices at the same area, it wouldn't let me login.

EDIT: ended up using Bluestacks to lock fuel prices now. It works, but feels more of a hassle (created a new google account for it, doesn't want to link existing personal acc to it), and more of a resource hog. Although after all, it works.

    • Nox works fine for me (using 6.2.1.1). Just locked in Truganina U98 price a few moments ago.

  • Why has the cheap Truganina deal been going on for SOO long???

  • +2

Anyone on a Mac got anything working? Can't seem to get Nox working ("golf" error when trying to log in to 7 eleven app), and Bluestacks doesn't work on Mac.

  • -2

Does anyone have tips on fake GPS? 7/11 is detecting it?

  • -2

    Rip Nox method…

    • Why doesn't the Nox method work anymore? Is it just what people are saying above?

      • +8

Try using Nox Multi-Drive (https://www.bignox.com/blog/how-to-run-multiple-android-inst…) and add a new emulator for 7.1.2 android. You need to then run this (newer) version of Android and install 7 Eleven app, login etc as per usual.

        • Yep, this worked for me. Bit more hassle but still works.

        • Awesome! worked perfect!

        • Yea, it should be working but I guess it's just me when loading 7.1.2, it forced to update Google Play then turn to a black screen. Still, managed to work it out and lock the fuel in 5.1.1 android. Be appreciated if anyone has the solution to that?

        • I keep getting a failed to unlock error when trying to create the new 7.1.2 emulator

Cant seem to get passed that despite multiple tries :/

          • @SBOB: I think this is because nox is not installed in program files directory.

            • @constipated: nah
Tried forcing the install to C:\Program Files
              tried running as admin

still gives the damn failed to unlock error :/

              • @SBOB: I'm getting 7.1.2 to work but it's extremely slow and buggy. 5.1.1 just gets failed to unlock.

                • @constipated: might be time to break out the modified apk then :/

        • Thanks man! Using multi drive emulator I installed an older version of Android and got it to work, where was previously it was showing the golf error. Happy times!

  • +13

    U91 - 135.9 11-Seven Truganina

    • Thanks, managed to get 98 for $1.53

    • -4

      What’s the price now please!

  • Update: Nox method doesn't work on a Mac anymore due to the Mac version being unable to run the 7.1.2 version of Android. It appears that the Android version supported on the Mac version of Nox is only Android version 4.

I've been able to get around it by installing Windows 10 via Boot Camp on my Mac, and then following the steps outlined by others above about running Nox Multi-Drive and adding a new emulator for Android 7.1.2.

    • add a new emulator for Android 5.1.1

      • The Mac version does not have Multi-Drive.

  • +7

Not sure if this has been mentioned before. iPhone users can spoof their location and it does not need to be jail broken.

It is a hack using Xcode on a Mac. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhbSeg6xg_s&t=7s. The guy has a few other follow on videos as well that explains a few more things.

You will need a couple of things set up to get this working, so it is not for everybody. But once set-up, it is pretty easy to use.

I have not had any issues locking in prices on my iPhone 8

  • Anyone know how this thing works in the company’s favour ?
Not the hacking bit …. but paying a lower price than what’s displayed on pump.
Who pays for the difference in price ?

    • +1

Brand loyalty is what they want. Also the credit 7-Eleven is sitting on is probably beneficial as well.

      • and they're hoping you'll buy something (expensive) in store.
I believe 7-11, not trhe franchisee pays most of the difference.

Also the Terminal Gate Price is ~1.363/lt which they buy for less then that.
Even after distribution costs, they might be making a small lose, but that's well & truly made up by the sucker who is paying $1.579 at the bowser next to you.

    • Usually the prices in range of the app are within 4c of each other anyway.

7 eleven does not work on Nox anymore. Given error GOLF

    • +6

      Try scrolling up and reading.

  • Anyone else getting errors from the google script? Mine had been working for weeks but on weekend got email with saying it was in error. I re did the script with a fresh one and it worked for half a day but again I am getting errors.

The error is "TypeError: Cannot read property "1" from undefined. (line 53, file "Code")"

    Thanks

    • It's possible your settings are in a corrupt state. Open the project on Google Script (the page which shows the script code), go to File > Project properties > Script properties. Click Delete on the rows "LAST_SETTINGS" and "LAST_PRICES".

      • Thanks, I have done the update so will see how it goes now 😁

      • Hi, Worked again for a day or so then errors came back. I deleted everything and started a fresh but same problem here are the errors:

        Error Message Count
TypeError: Cannot read property "1" from undefined. (line 53, file "Code") 2
TypeError: Cannot read property "1" from undefined. (line 56, file "Code") 23

I think its to do with getting the previous price. I have now just set the error reporting to weekly as I think its working when a change occurs that I want to know about it seems it could be that it errors when it the same price as before.

    • Had set a script up a week ago and just came through no problems.

  • Not the lowest lock price at the moment, but very close.

For someone having difficulties locking lately or can't get to a PC to lock but need to refuel urgently/semi-urgently, here's a voucher for 154.9 c/L U98 up to 38L (expiring in <2 days but I don't really need it/can't make full use of it): https://imgur.com/a/T97gjdg

Cheers. (Please leave a reply for whoever is going to use it, just so others know it's been used.)

  • Should I lock in U91 134.5 or wait?

    • Hopefully you waited.

      • Yeah I waited, it's 132.9 now and I'm starting to sweat, to lock or to not lock? Hahaha.

  • Has anyone ever used voucher and then locked in at a different state within 5mins? Wondering if there is risk

    • +8

      No risk, done many times.

    • Well, I haven't had any drama before… But just locked in today (Vic price, I'm in QLD), used it half an hour later, then tried to lock again.

Now I can't lock fuel prices.

Don't want to risk locking in a (real) local price because it's 14c higher than the Vic prices at the moment.

      • Now I can't lock fuel prices.

2 fuel locks per device ID.
If you can use a different device ID, you can break that limitation.

        • Per 24 hours?

          • @sween64: Resets after midnight

            • @RRtm: Midnight local time or Sydney time?

      • Jailbreak using Electra
      • Install Liberty
      • install AkLocationX

      For you, it’s Nox

Make sure you're running the latest nox 6.2.5.0, otherwise just download from bignox and install over your existing one. It'll then be available on the application "Multi-Drive"

      p.s. this is on windows

      • Thanks for that.

Couldn't get it running on my main laptop. Kept getting "failed to unlock" when initiating android v7.

Tried a few work arounds. Nothing worked till I installed on my old laptop. A few problems with memory hogging, but worked long enough to get cheap fuel.

I've conceived an idea and just want to know which is the fastest way to spot those sought after cheap U98 prices ;-)

    • +2

Isn't petrol spy just crowd sourced data?

For people having issues, Why don't people buy a cheap android mobile, use it in wifi, instead of Nox ?

    • does this work? Does it require the download of the apk. and whatever else (i'm not very technical at all!!!)

i was originally locking in via fake GPS on android.
Then moved to Nox on Mac

      now i'm stuck…

      • +3

Yeah you use fakeGPS and the mod'd 7-11 app (posted in this thread) it works a treat.

        • cheers , i'll give it a try now

          • @Car-la-la: @car-la-la did you get it working?

It stopped working on my android so went to Nox on Mac but now that's not working. I'll try the method above.

        • got an error "Fuel Type Not Available". downloaded and installed 7-11 mod app from Freighter dated 29-09-18. Any ideas?

        • I don't know if i am just a complete idiot - but for some reason even when i downloaded this new app, deleted the old one and using fakegps - it is still picking up my actual location - not the spoof location…

          • @Car-la-la: did you tap the Play button on fake GPS?

an icon should appear in your notifications when fakeGPS is running.

            • @[Deactivated]: Yes i was, but still was mucking around on me.

I tried again this morning and got it to work :) happy times!!

              Thanks

    • yeah exactly. i got an old android phone, simple, no issues

  • Can you cancel a fuel lock? Can’t seem to find a way.

    • nope, use it or make a new acct

        • A new account is a bit drastic

          This is OzBargain after all.

    • Try out your self tell the rest of us as well.

      • Might wait til wednesday and get the$29 telstra lite from coles

    • It should work fine.
Others have reported the apps (7-11 & fake GPS) work on Android Oreo.

You after the free G.Home Mini?

      • Yep, I'm using Android 8 (Oreo) works fine on my side..

Also works on Android 7.1.0 .

        • And working on android v6 & v9

          So thats v6-9 working.

        • I downloaded the modded version on an old android phone. After I search it shows my locked location but then comes up with an error saying mocked location detected and it’s been logged on their end that I tried to mock.

It’s an old galaxy s4 running Android 5.0.1

          • @chillybags: I don't think I have such an old phone on Lollipop to look into the problem of why that comes up.. Maybe later this week I can have a suss out if I can find the time to flash an old device.

          • @chillybags: Did you uninstall the 7-11 app first?
Because my understanding is the mod'd app removes the mock locations check routine

Maybe under the app settings, clesr storage, then uninstall the app & re-install the mod'd app. See how you go.

            • @[Deactivated]: Yeh it was deffs uninstalled. In fact the phone I was using never had the original app in the first place

Is there a reason people just copy/paste info from the projectzerothree website?

Anyone can access the website and see the cheapest prices

      • +2

I refresh OzBargain every 10 minutes but may only visit the projectzerothree website every now and then.

        • The projectzerothree website also has price alerts, you get an email when the price drops below whatever you set.

          • @Ten: True but it doesn't work well when the price range is always moving. I've set the alert at like $1.40/L for U98 a few months ago which was realistic but now $1.50/L seems to be a bargain.

        • Both Sydney and Melbourne look to have reached their respective troughs for the cycle so I would lock in now for the week ahead.

Otherwise hold out for a flash U98 sale - but that hasn't happened for a while.

          • @plasmapuff: Have you seen some stores raising the prices? There's no flattening at the end of these graphs. The price could drop further.

            • +1

@sween64: The ACCC reckon NSW and Qld are at the lowest of the cycle but I think it'll drop further too. The TGP has only dropped 3c this week, I think it can go down further. Unless the cartels get greedy and raise prices while TGP is still dropping.

            • @sween64: BP Mascot was the only one raised its price in Sydney from last Friday, but no others followed yet. It seems a bit stupid. Actually, I was thinking it could bounce back from last weekend, but the truth is still dipping.

      • +1

Some people don't have price alerts set on and would otherwise miss it, and $1.31 is the cheapest I've seen 91 in quite a while.

        • Guess it doesn't make sense to me that the projectzerothree website is stickied to this thread, and it's one extra tab to refresh if you have it open

        • -1

Would they really "miss" it? Think it's been within 1 cent of this for the past couple of weeks. Would think people look at projectzerothree when they need to get petrol or when it is somewhere less than half full or have monitored it and known the price anyway.

          • +1

@b0b: Sometimes these prices only come on for a short time before going up, and some people might not have locked in yet.

I don't know why some people are getting so upset over this. This is literally the cheapest I've seen it on here in weeks.

            • @Levathian: I can't see anyone getting "so upset".

Just seems like a reasonable question to ask why people are being spoon fed prices when the information is so easily accessible.

              • +3

@Ten: The price comments in this thread would be more useful if there wasn't so much extraneous conversation.

                /irony

                • @sween64: I'm all for discussion (one of the reasons I'm subscribed to this thread), but I was curious as to why there would be a need to just parrot the website that is stickied.

Seems my curiosity has struck a nerve with those unable to open a 2nd browser tab and refresh.

Although now I'm curious how often the copy/paste updates would have to be for others to mention it.

                  • +1

@Ten: Well someone else was copying and pasting the prices whenever Truganina dropped half a cent or w/e and this is almost a cent cheaper than Truganina. Also some people in NSW could get this price without even GPS spoofing.

I thought the entire point of this thread was to discuss prices. Jfc.

                    • @Levathian: True.

But seeing your post prompted me to ask why it occurs.

If this has upset you that much then I will think before I ask a question on here in future

                      • +1

@Ten: I'm not upset at all. I think this entire discussion is useless spam so I won't bother replying again (and fwiw I haven't negged anyone).

                        • -1

@Levathian: Me either, was just hoping to find out whether I should prepare myself for daily price updates/if I should not bother opening the projectzero website anymore :)

The downvotes will be from people who rely on being spoonfed the prices to lock something in. The same people that are in here begging for unused price locks.

                • +1

@sween64: …or the same questions over and over.

  • Been having this issue lately where I lock in a price on NOX but I can't get the voucher on my phone to appear. Every time I click the 'lock price' on my phone it says there's already a price locked but nothing shows up. Anyone else had this before?

    • +2

log out and log back in

      • Thanks seems to have fixed it.

  • Question.. If your locked price is higher than the pump price, do you / is it better to use / scan the voucher anyway because it will use the cheaper of the two prices (?), then after that you can lock the price for that day, if you want to (because the voucher has been used)?

    • +1

Yes - use the voucher, take the lower pump price, then lock the price again

Have tried updated Nox to 6.2.5.2, multi-instance manager from emulator, also changed mobile phones model and IMEI on Interface setting tab. All no luck…someone pls suggest help.

          • @Gomo: Crazy. Should do an AMA ;) What's the percentage of riders leaving a rating? For me, it's about 33%.

            • @ronnknee: Ever since Uber Changed the app you can't see the total amount of rated trips,

              I Can only guess by badges as I have a 3,000 5 Star Badge & a 5,000 5 Star Badge.

That might mean only 50% of my rides have been rated! But doesn't bother me.. I haven't caught a ride with the app since they've update it not sure if it forces the riders to rate or they can just swipe it away without leaving feedback !

AMA Plenty of them been done I'm sure of it, I just live life doing what I enjoy that's why I do it

Is e10 compelling at 4c cheaper than u91? Thoughts guys?

    • +7

Only if you're returning a rental car.

      • I've used e10 in my Holden Cruze for over 5yrs now with over 231,000km done no fuel related issues have occurred

        • Agreed. Mostly scare campaign. However I don't get why in Sydney it's 2c cheaper than U91 but qld is 4c cheaper.

        • +5

It's not about compatibility but rather fuel density. I've been found that E10 gets me at least 5% worse mileage but is only 2-3% cheaper than U91. Not worth it.

          • @plasmapuff: ^ this so much. The savings doesn't out weigh the loss in mileage. Even the checkout did a 'test'. Needs to be cheaper.

            • @OrigamiRabbit: cheers mate

            • @OrigamiRabbit: Hey Origami,
Even though Nox was installed a couple of weeks ago.
and emulator 7.1 said no updates available.

I uninstalled/installed Nox and now all good.

              So to all the neggers,
Get Far Away you Country baskets.

              • @boo hoo: I believe it's all about NOXplayer version, not the android emulator. NOXplayer is often getting regular updates and the only way I found to patch to the latest version is to download the whole file from bignox web and overwrite the outdated one, so keep one's eyes peeled on it when something cannot be workaround.
Edit: glad you sort it out. :P

    • I seek comfort in the fact that it's "only $1.50" I'm going to lose (at this stage).

  • +37

    Howdy Rowdy.

I've been slowly working on a new method to lock in fuel prices. It works on all devices since it is locked in via your web browser. It's pretty simple in functionality, you log in, you can either choose to automatically lock in a "best" price, or you can manually enter a location if it is cheaper and the price checker script hasn't updated yet. It also locks in the maximum it can for the amount of credit you have on your account, so no more scrolling up and down!

Here's a quick video, sorry that I put all those stupid little boxes everywhere, I'm not an expert in video editing and I didn't want an email and first name/account details out there for you all to snoop at ;o).

I'm hoping that as "proof" you can see that I click "Lock it in!" and then it gives me a success message on the computer, and after I log into the phone and it shows the same time (4:12pm) throughout the clip after I press lock in.. and then match that to the fuel price that is shown on the voucher and bam!

note: I have Fake GPS running so it doesn't show my house location, but that is simply set to somewhere in Sunshine, Vic. But that was for the first video I made which didn't seem to refresh the voucher when I was on the homepage, but I can upload that one if you prefer more proof..

    Bang bang!

    • Well done .. I am happy to see new ways to score the best prices being developed… (and I say this as i am currently being teased/PO by nox which is not playing the game, and with literally enough petrol to make it to the service station in the morning haha)

    • Impressive. Can't wait till this goes live.

    • +2

nice… though i can see this ending badly ;)
but i guess the apk's still working, so who knows how 'easy' a solution can be made before the whole system implodes :)

    • +5

      amazing…

although how do you guarantee that you're not storing our username/password? Note that this is not trying to be difficult, but a pretty standard question in scenarios where you use 3rd party apps to authenticate. Usually some kind of token/api key is used in such situations.

    • great effort, looking forward to this going live

    • @Freighter Any updates about when this might go live? :)

  • +1

Keep holding guys, petrol prices are tanking incredibly hard and are likely to keep dropping until OPEC reduces supply (which won't happen for a few weeks at least) so we should go even lower hopefully!!

    ALL IMO

  • Do anyone know how to fix this on the Nox (version 7, its in beta). It says 'Please ensure the device time setting is set to automatic'. - Error Code Foxtrot

Even though I already set it to Sydney time and everything is on automatic. So why is it saying i need to set the device time (nox player) to auto when everything is auto. Do anyone know how to fix that? Thanks

  • Just realised how to get around this. I found that your windows (PC) time needs to be set on automatic (ie the nox player would do the same) so your PC time and Nox player time needs to be the same. And this error would disappeared. I hope that helps.

So if anyone had the same problem. Remember to set your PC time and Nox player 'Both on Automatic'.

    • I am using modified apk and getting " an unknown error occurred" when tapping on "find my best local price"

      • You would need to gotta 'multi drive' section in NOX and install the Version 7 Beta. And than do what you normally do as the previous NOX and remember to setup the location and auto-time for the search.

    • Hmm tried your method but didn't work- although my nox version is still 6.1.1 so will try with the newer version and report back.

  • Anyone getting this opening the app?

    Service Notification
We're currently having technical difficulties and some Android devices may experience issues with the app.Hold on tight, we're working on a fix.

I realise this won't help everyone, but for those with a ROOTED phone (or able to root):

Install the Xposed Framework. From the Xposed Installer app, install the module called "Hide Mock Locations". Once done, you can use FakeGPS with the 7-Eleven app no problems and no errors. Been using this for around a year with no issues. Extremely simple once set up.

    • Are you using it with the modified 7-eleven app or the original?

      • Original app, that's the beauty of it. Never had an issue with regular updates from the play store.

    • Or if you use Magisk instead of SuperSU, then Magisk hide will do too.

      • Magisk Hide works for hiding the fact the phone is rooted. But doesn't avoid the mock location error, at least in my case.

        • You'll need to do more than that, I'm using GPS joystick in system mode to avoid 7/11 app detecting mock location.

      • I still received error on magisk.
I have the latest RR rom on my phone and even passed the 2 root checkers I installed, but somehow the 711 app knew.
        Will try this now.

        • What sort of error did you get? I'm using stock pixel2xl rom but don't think custom rom will have any difference.

    • Is this still working for you? My 7/11 seems to be able to detect mock locations even with the xposed module installed and activated

      • Xposed module is hit and miss, Magisk works better but the issue with it is installing fake gps app as system app, once you go pass this the reward is worth it

        • Ah strange, I've not had a problem with the Xposed module, has worked every time, not once has it failed. I rooted the phone with Magisk, but haven't installed fake GPS as system app. Just using Xposed module since it worked for me.

      • +1

Yeah has worked for me for a year or so. Never had an error popup. But if it's not working for you then I'd go with the other suggestion and make FakeGPS a system app.

  • My local has 91 for $1.279/L (cheapest in Aus), any chances it will drop further to like $1.25 or lower..?

Tried the Nox Multi instance solution mentioned a few times in this thread.

Had to download the latest Nox version 6.2.5.2.

Didn't work for Android 7 - starting Google Play Store would show a black screen - but worked perfectly well for Android 5.

Was trying for about 3 hours to work it out.

    Here is what works for me;

Lock the price via latest BlueStacks with latest & Eleven app and mock the location to preferred location with price (all on PC or MAC)

Sign out on your phone first to login in via emulator lock it in and then log out and log in on the phone again.

  • Has anyone managed to get it working on Mac ?

I keep running into errors with Nox

  • Not sure what everybody's problem is but i have no issue locking in on NOX (I'm on 6.0.8.0)

TLDR: Be mindful of people getting your bank details through all these apps (Nox, Bluestacks etc)

Just a kind reminder for people to be vigilant and be on the watch for any unauthorised payments on your cards and when signing into all these different programs.

I'm usually on top of the pc security stuff and even then some jack ass has managed to get my card details and has tried to top up $80 onto their account. They weren't able to do it but did manage to recharge $40.01 onto their account. Have called the bank and they said that it's pretty scary how they tried to charge my card multiple times. Luckily I didn't have much in that account at all!

Of course 7 Eleven claims that they can't track which account was topped up and ban them….which doesn't make sense as surely they'd be able to do it quiet easily. Anywho…bank has launched an investigation. Fingers cross I get my money back. It's not much but I'd still like it back!

Might also be a good idea to turn on the feature in your bank app that notifies you every time money is debited from your account. That's how I found out about the unauthorised access.

    Cheerio!

    • +2

That's why I only top up using 7/11 gift cards purchased in-store :)
No linkage from any live cards to my 7/11 accounts.

      • I'll be doing that in the future. Can't be lazy now!

Edit* Spelling mistake above in the original post! "quite" and not "quiet" (-_-)

      • And Amex points!

    • I never top up via NOX, I top up via mobile app. Is that a risk?

      • I've always topped up through the mobile app as well. So I'm not too sure how they got my card details…

        • Are you topping up with one of the modified apps?

      • Same here. Is the app safe? When you use Nox? ie can other people see the card details?
I normally use the mobile app for top-up and use Nox to lock in. Or can third parties
        see the card details?

        • I can't say whether it's safe or not. It'll depend on your pc's security and what you do online. I don't want to cause a mass hysteria.

  • Merged from [NSW] U91 Fuel 122.2c Per Litre @ 7-Eleven, Ryde and Bankstown
    Go to Deal

This is 91 Octane fuel (not E10)

    Other prices:

    • E10 - $1.202 Ryde NSW
    • U95 - $1.342 West Ryde NSW
    • U98 - $1.402 Ryde NSW
    • Diesel - $1.459 Truganina VIC
    • LPG - $0.759 Ryde NSW

Those are the cheapest 7-Eleven prices in the country at time of posting.

    My 2 cents:
Considering 2 weeks ago many servos were over $1.60, this is a great saving. The drop is due to world oil crashing 25% in 4 weeks (thanks in part, ironically enough to Trump and USA for the debacle of Iran sanctions followed by exemptions compounded by unexpected historic record US oil production). We're now at levels not seen since 12 months ago, the only difference is the $AUD is weaker than it was back then so I would think these prices don't have much more downtrend left in them. Some independants have been as low as $1.14 in Sydney lately, if near that, fill up I think. OPEC are discussing tightening production in December so these prices may only be around for a few weeks.

    • Why are fuel prices falling down so much any idea?

      • +1

See my 2c comment above. We've just experienced the longest decline streak in history. Not the biggest drop but the longest number of consecutive days (which was previously 12) of oil falling from the day prior.

My comments above are just my opinion but certainly play a part in it. I honestly think Trump pulled a swifty over OPEC, the guy is an idiot but managed to bumble his way through and get this one right. I'm not even sure it was planned that way.

So WTI oil has dropped from approx $75 USD to stabilizing just over $55 USD, that was in 1 month which is significant. I think fuel prices have just about hit the floor now if oil stablizes or increases. We've had some unexpected strength in the $AUD which has helped. In the weeks ahead 2 things are likely to happen - oil will probably gain some of its losses (oil shorting has probably ended) and the $AUD will probably creep back towards $0.70 USD, both having an upward pressure on fuel prices. If I'm right, stock up now! If I'm wrong, prices will creep under $1.20 soon.

        • Let's hope that your wrong!!

  • I'll wait until 119.9 before stocking up

    • TGP is at 1.22 for ULP so it could rise before it hits the $1.10s…

    • +1

In Sydney many of the other chains have cheap fuel as well right now. Caltex Woolworths you can use your 4c off voucher and your eGift cards at 5% discount. Most of the Caltex Woolworths I see on fuelwatch are between $1.22 and $1.28 for U91. So using the 4c & 5% off, they work out around $1.12 to $1.18 (as a guide you get 10-11c off = 10c for ~$1.25 at the low end of the cycle; 11c for ~$1.45 at the higher end of the cycle). Cheaper than 7-11. Most of the states seem to be quite low as well, so unless prices start going up and you can then lock in cheap, you may be better checking our your local Caltex Woolworths.

    • Same here.

      • It's ok now. Could be the app or their server was not working last night (midnight). Anyway, thanks.

  • +1

Happy to say I was wrong with my earlier predictions. World oil just crashed AGAIN over night, another 7% ($4) which means… Fuel prices have further to fall before a rebound 😁👍

    • When the price fall now, it should take at least a month or 2 to reflex to our price at the browser

      • Ordinarily that's right but I think it'll happen sooner this time riding the momentum, the catch will be a quick rebound the other way soon after. I don't expect $1.20 at the pump in January but I do love being wrong :)

It's interesting to watch, oil prices aren't healthy at the moment. The shorters are all over it like fleas to a dog but I don't think it can stay at this price for too long so let's enjoy it whilst it lasts.
