7-Eleven Fuel App Watch - Nationwide - January 2017 to January 2022 » All Comments

        • Try clearing your 711app data.

        • @tarken: already did that..

        • strange.try to delete both app

        • @tarken: Problem is with the mock location, not with 7/11 app.

        • @agam2104:

          Suggest try NOX on PC
          Install it.
          Try it out

        • @chinezejew: I use both, sometimes when I try to lock the price it won't happen just come back to lock screen without giving any error. Then I open the same id in Nox it will lock it, it happens vise versa.

        • @agam2104: i know how to use both but its much convenient for me to use it on the phone as someone will post a very cheap fuel price here and you really have to jump on it or else you lose it.

        • @angelkulit025:

Hav u got any old andoids lying around?
(My S5 still locks fine… No error. Using GPS joystick)

I TeamViewer into my PC remotely

        • @agam2104:

I've experienced that too on S9 and googlepixel Xl.

My old S5 hasn't failed to lock with GPS joystick

  • -3

Hmm wonder if the price will go lower or has it hit it's peak? Anyone seen any servos bump their price as an indication?
ACCC site says its most likely the bottom.

    • +1

Better not be the bottom for Brisbane! Some servos (cough Coles!) are still selling 98 for over $1.80/L!

      • 98 is $1.56 here at the moment (Thornton, NSW).

  • +3

7/11 Dinmore is selling 95 at $143.9/L.. (same price as their 91). Lock it in?

    • Do it.
      Nice.
      Thx

  • +2

    7/11 Bankstown is selling 91 at 132.7/L

  • +2

    131.9 (U91) Kings Park NSW.
Interesting to see how far WA comes down tomorrow.

    • You think it will still go down tomorrow?

      • they release prices day before around 3:00 wst

  • Diesel prices has not changed much at all it seems

    • +1

      im hearing you mate.

Petrol has dropped……..surely Diesel has to also……

  • +1

Is it the lowest point of the cycle now? Should I lock in at 131.7?

    • -3

      Yes and yes.

  • Bankstown is $1.30, I'm in Qld. Should I see if Qld prices drop further, lock into the Labrador price or lock into Bankstown..?

    • NSW fuel prices will stop declining in 1-2 days, you should wait until then.

      • +15

You literally gave different advice 4 hours ago.

        • Yep.. I already locked in at 131.7..shouldve waited a few more hours..

        • invest!

      • im waiting for the next refresh, to see if its cheaper than $1.309

        • F*** I've already filled up my tank and locked again at 131.7,so hopefully it wouldn't go down that much or I would be pissed.

        • +1

@angelkulit025: the difference would be $1-$2 over a 50L tank.. Not really much to worry about imho.

Now if you'd filled up at BP/Coles express at $1.49 and realised you could have got it for $1.30 at 7/11.. Ouch!

        • -1

@Lad92: it makes a difference if you pay for 2 vehicles.. That's what we normally do to maximize the savings..

        • @angelkulit025: still only a few dollars. Not optimal but better than missing out and paying $1.50-1.60 a L..

        • -7

@Lad92: well that's the point of this thread and website. To save a few dollars, I wonder why you're here if you are not keen on even just a few dollars savings..

        • +6

          @angelkulit025:

What he's trying to say is that there is no point being so pissed that you need to swear over missing out on a further 1% discount…

  • +1

ProjectThreeZero link no longer works on my iPhone.
Ever since the addition of adds, it detects that I have an iPhone and I constantly get redirected to new pages that then redirect me to the AppStore for some shitty bogus app. Can't even see the page anymore it's a shame :(

    • +3

Can you try again? The option for full-screen mobile ads was enabled when I thought I disabled it. Alternatively, use the following link to disable ads pre-emptively:
      https://projectzerothree.info/?noads=1

      • Yeh, this is happening to me too even with the no ads URL. Takes me to ads saying I have a virus and crap like that.

EDIT: It now works for some reason.

    • Android Nox test.

    • Is it working for you again? I've had no problems on my iPhone 7 Plus running iOS 10.1.1.

  • I'm getting the mock location error again. I've tried resetting cache/reinstalling app. I'm on a samsung s7 and i think the OS on it updated yesterday. What's the new go to method?

    • NOX?
In developer settings, what app does it show for mock locations?

      • I've noticed a few days ago that mock location said 7 eleven fuel app which is really strange

        • Follow this and it'll be gone.

Uninstall 7-eleven. Download Fake GPS go location spoofer. Open the app and select it for mock locations. Then go back to the app and go to app settings. Enable new no Root Mode or no root mode. Then install 7 eleven. You shouldn't get anymore mock locations errors

    • +1

My method is. Set GPS joystick to your chosen town then check that it has locked correctly in Google maps. Then press the stop button on GPS joystick. Then open 7 eleven app and go to store locator and press the GPS button on the map, then lock fuel button. Seems to be working for me lately.

  • Can't lock using Nox. Error code Lima. How do I fix this?

    • That's new.
      1. Have you locked before with Nox?

      • Yeah. With a different account.

        • How many locks have you tried today?
          (Any successful locks?)

I think it is 2locks per 24hours per "phone"

        • @chinezejew: Yeah lock is successful but I can't seem to add credit to my account. Says my account cannot accept credit card transactions.

        • @Livert:
Can you please clarify how you came to the Lima error?

          1. Same PC with Nox
          2. Locked with this PC today with 7/11 account A.
          3. Now trying to add credit to 7/11 account B and getting "Lima"?
        • @chinezejew: Sorry. The error code Lima happens when I try to add credit to be able to lock a price.

        • @Livert:

I knew I read it somewhere

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/288802?page=14#comment-545…

Looks like uve deposited over $150?

        • @chinezejew: Nope. Only trying to add $50. Almost zero in my account at the moment.

        • @Livert:

try the card 7/11 gift card method mate

        • @Livert:

I think you have a limit of $150 per week.

Happened to me about 6 months ago. A good workaround is as per @chinezejew suggestion below.

        • @Dud: Nah. First time trying to add credit to my account in over a month. Will try gift card method soon.

        • @Livert: Log in on your phone and add the credit there. Had a similar problem when I first used NOX, so always add credit on my phone.

        • @Rod71: Did try both Nox and on phone yesterday. Even tried to buy a gift card at 11pm last night but their system was down….

Seems to have been fixed this am though. Finally managed to add some credit.

          Thanks for the help everyone.

  • Downloaded nox set location and it says We couldn't find your current location. Please try again later.

    • This website’s security certificate has been revoked, so you can’t go there at this time.
      Error Code: ERROR_INTERNET_SEC_CERT_REVOKED

      • Working fine for me on chrome desktop and mobile.

    • looking good

  • Has anyone experienced price difference between the 7-11 App and FuelCheck website? E.g. Yagoona is showing as cheapest today 147.9 on FuelCheck but does not display in the App, while surrounding petrol stations show 148.3 on FuelCheck, but the App is showing 148.9.

EDIT: Just noticed the time updated for the App price for the surrounding station is 5:10AM, then this is probably due to price not yet updated for the app.

    7-Eleven Yagoona
    7-Eleven Bankstown
    U91 both 129.9

  • Do I lock in today or wait till tomorrow. Risky!

    • +1

Just have two accounts.. Lock one today.. and if it goes down tomorrow or later on during the week lock it on the other account and use that.

    • Most likely bottomed out in sydney. Can see some servos hiking up prices. But good thing we can go interstate.

  • -1

Nox gets stuck at 99% at opening unless I turn off Windows Firewall. Is there a way and, if so, is it sensible to whitelist the program?

    • +7

How do you expect it to access the internet to lock in your location/price if it's firewalled?

  • +8

    126.9 - (U91) Morayfield QLD

    • Hmm, lock in now or wait a few more days?

      From ACCC fuel site:

      Petrol prices in Brisbane

Buying tip (updated Monday, Wednesday and Friday):

prices are decreasing but they are likely to decrease further
if possible, motorists should delay buying petrol until later.

    • +1

Back up to 129.9.. maybe they realised the market wasn't that low yet…

      • Yep, I hesitated and missed it…will wait a few more days, still going lower I think.

        • +2

Its sad when $1.30/L for 91 is considered "cheap".

        • @Levathian:

Actually 3 cents under wholesale price.

How many fuel stations use this app? I remember looking into it a while back and saw negative reviews of some fuel stations refusing to take payment from the app…

      • +3

All 7-Eleven stations accept fuel locks.

Finally getting on the 7-11 app bandwagon.
This is my first attempt with Nox

    • hmmm, i got my account suspended because of locking the 0.001c deal interstately last time . does anyone get trouble using mock location ?

      • did you loose your money you had in your account when they suspended your account? or was it only temporary like a penalty box

        • took them a while to send my remaining balance in a gift card.

old account closed for good. now being cautious and paranoid lol

        • good to know, thanks. i keep getting warning when the mock locations fails and the 7eleven app detects it.

How to lock from other locations
    thanks

    • +14

It's called reading the threads. So many comments from people explaining exactly what to do.

    • Install Nox (android emulator)
      Spoof your location
      Bobs your uncle

    • +1

I came here just to neg you.

    • +1

      That's lazy man

  • Is fuel lock not working for anyone else? I'm using Nox and filled up twice with the cheap petrol tonight but want to lock another time to use in a weeks time before expiry. It gets to the point where it lets me select amount of litres but goes back to main page without locking in the fuel price.

    • Can only lock in twice per 24hr period from memory.

      • Limited to each Android id

    • Log into ur account on another PC

      • +2

Can also be done by running Nox multi instance manager, then just add emulator. Acts as a new Android device, even on same computer.

        • Thanks that did the trick.

  • +3

Damn missed the good deals! My car runs so much better on 98, fingers crossed for another great price soon.

    • Yeah it's suppose to clean your engine. Gives you a 10% performance boost. So normally not worth it, however when it's only 4c more…

      • -2

Your car has to actually be tuned for 98 to get some benefit for it. Most likely saying minimum 95 would indicate the car has a tune for 98. You aren't going to see any benefit over 91 in your 02 Camry, it'll just run rich.

        • -1

The engine can perform better with 98. I can tell especially when going up a hill when I got a tank full of 98.

But I stopped using 98 now due to the ridiculous prices recently.

        • -4

          @sintro:

If your car is tuned for 95/98 that is fine. If you are putting in 95/91 for a car that needs 98 it may knock, which is not good. Everyone should be looking at their cars manual to see what type of fuel you need, some may accept multiple types, others may be happy with 91. If your car uses 91 and you use 98, youll get carbon build up which can block injectors and it'll run rich, you'll get black marks near your exhaust on your car. If your car requires 95/98 (most European engines) and you use 91, as I said, your car may knock, which is bad.

BP saying 98 cleaning your engine and the name premium is just marketing trying to make you buy more expensive fuel. Everyone should be using the octane rating recommended by the manufacturer, as that is what your engine is tuned for.

        • +8

@Timothy-1: Hi Timothy, are you stating facts or opinions? Running 98 can not harm any petrol car and certainly will not cause carbon build up. Where did you get this info from? Running 98 fuel may not give a power/performance boost to cars designed to run 91, but it has cleaning additives that will keep the engine and fuel line cleaner than running standard 91.
Source: automotive engineer with 25 years experience.

  • +1

My car is designed to be run on 91, but definitely seems to have more pick up and run smoother with the rare tank of 98. I will always grab it if its only a few cents difference, or one of those awesome WA deals where it's cheaper than everything else.

    • +1

Funny, I tried it with mine, I ended up with less km per tank

  • +14

I had a request for an option to hide the station names to fit the site in a mobile widget, so you can use the following link:
    https://projectzerothree.info/prices.php?noname=1

The link is also now visible on the main page. I'll also look into creating a RSS feed.

    • +1

Appreciate your development efforts! Amazing work.

    • +1

master131 you are a scholar and gentleman (person)

God help us if you are ever hit by a stale low flying donut.

    • +1

The RSS feed would be really helpful.
I was previously using visualping to get updates twice a day but with Cloudflare in front I can't do that anymore :(

    • now I'm trying to figure out how the hell to get the site onto a mobile widget…..
doesn't seem to be any out of the box way of doing this on Android and the apps i've tried are shit.

Btw, you'd be better off using Javascript to hide the column instead of doing it server side with url params. might give you an ever so slight reduction in server load..

should be easy enough to implement.

Hampton park 98 is cheap again 134.5

      • +2

        I looked at the script.

  • -1

Damn, trying to lock and for the first time my phone is giving me endless trouble. I am starting fake GSP, stopping, swiping shut, waiting about 10 seconds then opening 7-eleven but it still says mock location error. This method always used to work?

    • What app is using mock locations in settings?

      • Fake GPS. But I got it to work eventually. Was very fiddly though, don't normally have any issues.

        • Use no root mode and wait dialog
No need to even swipe fakegps close now

        • [@cwongtech](/comm
66661/redir): can your explain this further please?

        • @cwongtech:

How do you get to the option as per your screenshot?

        • @JB1:
Fakegps free, top right corne, Press the three dots, app settings.

        • +1

          @cwongtech:

Thanks, first thing I did was click on the settings but couldn't find it.

Then I realised I was using a different app also called fake GPS! Lol..

          Many thanks!

        • @cwongtech:
Is this the one you are using?

        • @Joe888:
          Yes

        • how did you get it working if you don't mind sharing?

After uninstalling fake gps. I keep getting "We couldn't find your current location. Please try again later." error message. If i leave it installed, 711 app detects mock location.

    • -1

After i uninstall the fake gps i go to dev settings and turn off mock location then open maps to check location is still in the fake location THEN i install the 7-11 app. works 9/10 times

    • -1

I'm getting "we couldn't find your location, please try again later".

This is after managing to maintain the fake location after I've uninstalled the spoofer.

I used to be able to keep the fake location after uninstalling fake GPS/mockation, but now only 1 app can do it.

Does anyone have a work around?

  • Hey guys, I'm getting the error code lima when I'm trying to put money on my account. Anyone know whats the fix? Thanks.

    • You can either use a different card, or buy a 7/11 gift card instore

      • Thanks for your response. Does that mean my card is blocked by them?

        • +2

          No

It works agsin after a few days

    • +1

I get Lima when I try topping up with NOX, but it works when I top up with my phone app then lock in with NOX.

      • This is what I have to do.

        • +2

I just top up once and pay with card instead of the app. 7 Eleven always holds my initial log in I suppose, but don't have issues with it ever.

        • @jazattack:
I pay with the app to keep the credits from "expiring"
I normally top up immediately after paying and I never get the lima error then

        • @Trojan:

          Expiring?

I'm new to the all but can't imagine that my money unloaded onto the card would disappear

        • +3

          @thorpef1:
          T&C's 5

24 months after issue or last use

        • @sween64:

          Cheers for calling that out

        • +2

          @thorpef1:

          As per what sween64 said.
You dont have to do it every time you fill up but do it every few months.
It would be a shame to save a few dollars every fill up only to lose $100 after 24 months.

        • +2

@Trojan: I suppose you could just buy a $1 coffee occasionally to keep your credit alive

        • +1

          @sween64:
          These are the T&C: https://www.7eleven.com.au/fuel-app-terms-and-conditions

There is nothing in the App's T&C about your money expiring in the app. Can you provide a link to what you saw?

        • @shiznit: BLASPHEMY as an ozbargainer you should be getting free coffees and only pay for what you HAVE to pay for. Now hand'em over.

        • @syba: Here. It's not in the T&C's of the app, it's the T&C's of the gift card. Point 5 "Expiry Date"

        • @sween64: OK. So only applicable if you top up your account with a gift card. If you use a credit card (like the majority of people probably do), then it isn't an issue - your money won't expire. FYI, from 31 March 2018, in NSW all gift cards must have an expiry of at least 3 years (few exclusions, but doesn't apply here). So for NSW at least, this is incorrect.

        • @syba:

From my understanding, that 24 month Expiry is in the 7-11 Card Terms, it is not the Gift card T&C.

The 7-11 Card can store $ credit and is attached to the APP when you log in.

When you top up the App for the fuel lock with a Credit Card or a 7-11 Gift Card, you are transferring money from the source into the 7-11 Card

        • @syba: Your account is a gift card. It's applicable to you.

        • +4

          @sween64:

you're not wrong - but can you categorically guarantee that 7-eleven aren't a bunch of morons that will treat your account as if it's some special-non-gift-card use case and expire your credit regardless…

the law would be on your side - but it's not worth the hassle, especially when we're all doing some slightly shady, at worst morally questionable shit. better be safe than sorry and cycle your credits every few months.

        • +1

@nardz: I cycle my credit as soon as I fill up. Why bother leaving credit sitting in an account when it could be locked at any moment? Topping up isn't a hassle anyway.

        • +1

@Levathian: You can use AmEx/ApplePay in-store but can't use them to top up the app. Both of those payment methods give me advantages over MasterCard.

        • @Levathian:

i've been doing that lately - but i used to leave the credit in the app for around a year or so.

        • +2

          @sween64:
You can however pay for a 7/11 gift card using amex in store… :)

  • There's nothing wrong with setting up 2 accounts, right?
Main account already locked 91 at 130
Made new account to lock in 98 at 134 last Friday (didn't bother to reset voucher, thought 2 accounts would be convenient)
This Tuesday I couldn't log into either account, "account error" and "foxtrot error".
Called up 7-11 Customer Service, they stated that my account was "locked" and would get back to me in a day to find out why.
Now I'm waiting on their response.

    • Lol.
      Same phone for both accounts?
Have u tried logging in via another android?
(FYI… screenshots of the barcodes work too over counter)

I screenshot just in case I can't get the barcode loaded via app.
(Screen brightness set high; phone display off is set at 10mins)

      • Yes, I use the same phone for both accounts.
I tried logging in with another phone and the same error came up.
I didn't think of using screenshots, that's smart. Hopefully I can log back in because the 134c 98 voucher will expire on Friday.

        • +6

I use 4 accounts for 4 family members. I use my phone to lock in price for them, then they log in on their phones to use the coupon. No problems at all. However on 1 physical phone, it will only allow me to lock price in 2 accounts within 24 hours.

        • +1

          @DKC:
Buy app cloner premium. allows you to create clones of the 7/11 app with different Android IDs on each, you also need a google maps API (free and you only need one for all accs).

The 2 price lock per 24 hrs limit is per Android ID.

          I have a total of 9 7/11 apps on my phone :)

        • @cwongtech: Did you need a different phone number for each account?

        • @cwongtech:
There are a few apps called app cloner. Is this the one you are using?

        • -1

          @cwongtech:

Where in app Cloner is the change android ID setting?
          Show me the ways plz.

      • sometimes they refused to let me use screenshots of the barcode

  • +1

Is anyone having trouble using the locked vouchers?

I locked it in via nox and when they scanned it came up with invalid voucher

    • Contact customer service. They'll refund you the difference. Probably just an error for all vouchers, it happens occasionally.

      • +1

One of my vouchers didn't work last week (1.34 U98 from Hampton Park), ended up paying full price and asking for a receipt to contact customer service. However, I thought about it, if I contact customer service, will they look into my account and see that I've locked all over the country and have saved at least $10 on every fill?

        • +2

The only account bans have been for the 0.1c/L price error. I wouldn't worry. I move contacted CS for a refund before.

        • +2

Don't worry, I contacted customer service for same reason, no issue, they did not even ask about previous locks. They even gave me $5 bonus credit for the hassle of having to call them.

        • +3

          @billy_bob:
          @sween64:
Yes, 7-11 CS is actually really top-notch, especially given how we're flouting the T&Cs like anything. Really happy with their service, kudos to them. I always try and send them a polite email and a polite thank you for their great service.

        • +1

@billy_bob: damnn. I regret not contacting when the systems were down.

  • +5

Hi all, I have an unused cheap 98 voucher. PM me and I'll send it through. Cheers DT

    • +2

Voucher is gone now. Thanks all.

  • -12

Guys can we do this to BPme app?

    • +2

      Uhh… No.

      • I just heard half the ad on radio and assumed it was similar to this app.

    • Let us know if you work out a method.
This is a 7/11 fuel lock forum.
Bpme no fuel lock to my knowledge

    • -7

      Wow nice support guys lol

      • +4

        Welcome to the internet 😉

      • Once you figure out the BPme App, can you move along to both the Coles and Woolworths 4 cents per litre vouchers.

    • BP = ridiculously expensive. My local didn't go below like $1.45, and was the first to jump up to $1.59.

      • I've found them to be within about 4-10c of the cheapest diesel price lately. That's in Brisbane comparing to the cheapest 7-11 price which is in NSW currently.

    • Yes, ask for price match ;)

  • Queensland is going up. Time to lock in.

    • -7

First fuel then the Origin, RIP QLD.

    • +2

Yup. I locked into 128.9 at Caboolture.. A few hours later it had jumped to 159.9 RIP… That's a $15 increase in the price of a tank of fuel right there.

  • -2

Is locking using fake GPS still working for other people?
Can someone explain the NOX method? Apologies if mentioned on previous pages

    • Yep but you need the no root and wait dialogue in app settings for fake gps

    • -2

Why don't you go and look at the other pages?

    • +2

Use Ctrl F and search nox from about page 29 onward and you will find what you need. No need for the same info to be posted again and again.

      • +4

perhaps a sticky in the main post?

        • +1

You can report comments to be stickied.

    • It's not helpful for anyone else, but you can modify the android app with a tiny bit of work so you can just let the Fake GPS app run when you lock-in. I did it for my own copy. Only problem is since I'm not tech savvy enough I need the fake GPS to run to lock-in otherwise it errors

Merged from 7/11 Fuel Group - Helping Mates out

    Hi Professionals :)

Was wondering if we can have a group of people who pool in a share for locking the best price for 7/11 Fuel and always pay in cash at counter, that way we can save quite a few dollars and everyone can take advantage of the best fuel prices availabile all across 7/11 locations countrywide.

    Cheers

    • Best price at the moment is 131.9 in Little Mountain, QLD.

    • +1

I'm confused - are you asking OZBargainers here to chip in and put the money in one community and shared 7/11 account to avoid all of us locking in our money in our individual accounts?

      • +2

Not going to happen, anyone with access to the account can press Pay Now and drain it.

7/11 ops don't always accept screenshots.

The only people who will benefit from this scheme is those who can't actually do the fuel locks (iPhone users) and those who can't use NOX either (had a cousin with a MacBook where mouse input stops in NOX lol)

        • +1

Agree - that's why I wanted to clarify what's the intention of OP in pooling a share account because he got me interested when he said "we can save quite a few dollars". It seems OP's proposal won't benefit people like me because I can lock in using my Android phone or NOX so "what's innit for me?" :)

        • +1

iPhone users with a jailbreak can fake their location. It seems to be the most reliable way to lock in a price. I am one of those users.

        • @sween64:
Any issues with a jailbroken iPhone? Some banking apps don't like a rooted Android phone

        • -1

@sween64: Jailbreak isn't reliable too.. My phone asks for jail break every time I reboot the phone

    • +1

I thought each account is capped to 2 price locks a day anyway..

      • It's per device (android ID), not per account.
I.e. if you can get two phones that can lock, potentially you could do 4 locks in 24 hours.

  • -1

Has anyone gotten around the Virgin mobile login error? Theres a 7-11 fuel finally near me, but I cant lock the price because it tries to get me to sign in >_>

    • +5

You need to have an account for 7/11 with money to actually lock in a price mate <_<

      • wouldn't mind putting in money if I could log in bud.

        • +1

Do you mean you can't signup?

        • +1

Can you explain in more detail what you've done exactly and screenshot your error?

If you do that, we're happy to help because it means you're putting in the effort to learn. (Not like a dirty freeloader)

        • @cwongtech: sure no problems. I had an account when the app came out, but soon after that, everytime I tried to log in, it says 'an unknown error occurred, problem Golf' apparently it's an issue with people on Virgin service where 711 are saying it's Virgin and vice versa.

Same as this thread, however I didn't see the bit where there was a solution until now, I'll try it tonight and see if I Can login https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/334243

        • @kza2610: it is likely the account is singed in else where.

        • @No ONE: No, I only have one phone, have uninstalled and reinstalled app a few times. I just logged in the desktop with same details and it worked, but just cant on the phone

Edit : i set up my account prior to going on the Virgin service, error occured since changing : https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/353341#comment-5484135

I will try taking out my sim and just using wifi tonight, but if it just logs me back out when my sim is in then …

I just want the occasional Krispy Kremes :( lol

        • @No ONE: this doesn't affect anything, I have my accounts signed in like 4 phones

        • -1

          @kza2610:
Virgin is same as Optus no?

Are you sure the password is right?

I had a weird issue like that with my sister's old phone. Correct details, just didn't like her phone.

After factory reset it was fine.

Was on Kogan though (Voda network)

        • @cwongtech: Yup, password correct, just signed in the desktop website. If i type in a wrong password in the app its a different error message 'cant find your account, please make sure details are correct , Error Foxtrot', whereas correct details gives me 'unknown error, error Golf'.

        • +1

          @kza2610:

I find it hard to believe the app isn't working on Virgin mobile…?

Try wiping app data. Not cache, full app data. Usually settings > apps > click the app > storage > clear data.

          Then try logging in again.

Or try logging in while connected to a wifi network. Surely you have access to a wifi network?

        • @scozzie: Would an uninstall be the same as wiping? I did try to login at home yesterday on wifi, didnt work. But I didnt take out the sim, so will try that later.

Edit : Found a whirlpool thread on it as well ; http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2692341 . Mcdonald's works for me though it does sign me out alot.

        • +1

@scozzie: I think it's a Virgin network issue. I just tested on (flight mode, wifi) could log in. Remain logged in after taking off flight mode. Restarted phone, took off airplane mode but still wifi, tried signing in again and got the unknown golf error again. So I can't sign in as long as my ph network is running

        • @kza2610: My brother had the same issues remove the Sim card ,then login .

        • @agam2104: worked on flight mode for me, but when I turn off flight mode, since realistically I will be not on wifi when using it, my offers dont load the code page etc. So i wouldnt trust it well enough to put money on to it incase I can't use it….

  • -3

No any cheap 98 deals. I am running oit of fuel..

    • -1

Ballarat has it @ $1.63, not great but better than $1.70+

      • +5

Why to travel Ballarat when you can get it for 149.9 from Little Mountain,QLD.

        • +1

Lol… The whole purpose of this thread is… ?

        • I am feeling fairly silly now, had a browse just dragging the map around and 1.63 was cheapest I can find :(

I didn't travel to Ballarat :P While I am already embarrassed I will mentioned I tried to search in SA a bunch of times as petrol was cheap there only to eventually lookup the 7/11 locations and realise there are none!

    • +37

Hey mate, I'm a frequent flyer who flies around Australia just to chase up the best fuel price in the country by using 7 Eleven fuel lock-in apps. My favourite destinations are usually metro areas such as Mount Waverley or Hampton Park in Victoria but I am also willing to travel to whoop whoop areas like Thornton or Penrith in NSW.

Sometimes I also travel to WA, NSW or QLD, depending on the fuel price cycles. However, I have my limit and would never travel to these regions to lock-in cheapest fuel price:
      * South Australia - excellent wine but crap water and their speeding fines are insanely expensive.
      * Northern Territories - too many crocodiles, not enough women there.
      * Tasmania - my missus from Tassie and she's still trying to hide away from her brothers

      • Haha, funny stuff, not sure why the neg vote? Have a plus from me ;)

      • That's gold.

  • Any predictions on pricing trends between now and the weekend?

    • +7

      I predict it will change

      • +1

        agreed, definitely unstable

      • +2

The only constant in life is change

        • +2

death and taxes - as in you'll constantly get taxed until u die

    • +7

From technical charts, price may be rangebound between $1.00 to $1.70. But fundamentals are not very strong for this range. We'll seek what happens next week and will predict.

    • +1

NSW is currently cheapest and is continuing to drop. Lock in now for a good price or on the weekend if you want to save a couple of cents per litre, of course you risk losing a couple of cents per litre.

  • Looking at the app and the ACCC site it seems the east coast is in a quicker fuel cycle than normal

  • -2

Anyone having issues with locking using mock location.

    • -4

Same here. My tank is thirsty. Is anyone willing to share 63L their fuel voucher?

    • Awesome, locked in, thanks Steff!

    • Locked! Thanks :)

    • Thanks. Still available.

  • If I have an old Camry, should I get u98 @ 133.9c or u91 @ 127.9?
Is it worth paying the extra 4.7% for u98?

    • Hahahaha

      • Vtec spoony? Mugen power. No limit.

    • V6?
Ull feel the thottle a bit more with a bit more go.
      More exciting thottle.
Ull most likely see more than 5% more kms with a full tank by the 3rd tank.

My own experience with v6 05 camz sportivo

  • Seems like 1.45 is the cheapest for 98 at Yagoona

    • +5

Has anyone jailbroken their ios 11-11.3.1 devices yet? What location spoofer tweak are you using especailly for newly released electra1131?

    • I know this doesn't answer your question but I use LocationFaker(8,9,10) on iOS 10.1.1. If you haven't purchased it on a compatible device then there are ways to allow purchases it may still work on iOS 11. If not contact the developer.

    • Just jailbroken my device on iOS 11.3.1. Haven't found a working location spoofing tweak yet.

    • +1

Just tested GPSCheat works for iOS 11.3.1

      • -2

BigBoss repo says not compatible ATM, however available to install through other repo. I do not want to risk my jailbreak into issue like bootloop etc. like last the time with iOS 11.1.2 which btw I lost the jailbreak as well.

        • You could try Fake GPS PRO, but it's a paid tweak (80CNY).
          It is confirmed compatible here.

        • -2

Any neggers care to elaborate or contribute?

        • @No ONE: LocationFaker(8,9,10,11) which I use was updated on 11July. Worth trying out.

  • +5

Seems that U98 has dropped again, Mulgrave / Waverley Gardens. $1.339.

Lock in before it bounces back up.

  • Anyone have any experience in using E10 over U91?

    • Not worth it I've read. It can mess up your car.

    • +9

Only use it to fill up a rental before returning it. Otherwise stay well away.

      • Haha, advice taken!

    • Been using it for 6 years on a new car. No issues. Our car says E10 compatible

    • Its rubbish

      Bad for your car
      Bad fuel economy

      No real savings

      • Well written article. Goes to show the lack of transparency. Perhaps using E10 less will mean servos will reduce the E10 price further to ensure they reach 6% NSW usage.

We do take for granted energy security. Remember the long queues at servos during iraq war. You won't be worrying about octane anymore. It'll be a case of getting whatever u can get

  • In case people still haven't logged in, Mulgrave / Waverley Gardens still has u98 for 133.9 .

Also, does anyone else notice that 7/11 gets worse fuel economy than other servos? Doing the same driving I get 13.2L/100kms vs 12.8L/100 from my local independent servo. Not sure what could/should be causing that

    • Bp performs best
      United next

      My personal experience

Mobil 711 u98 at 133.9 is pretty sweet deal.

Fuel locking u98 at these prices are most likely better and cheap than u91 from BP

    • .. holden ss?

      • Opposite, Jeep Wrangler.

  • +1

I just filled up with my first 133.9 lockin…..was about to lockin again, but it's no longer there. Back up to 151.9. Bugger.

Also, you're kidding yourself if you think you get noticeably different mileage between different servos 98 brands. They all come from the same refinery don't they? Just different additives added from each oil company.

I drive an FGX G6ET, which Ford recommend 98 for. I drive 900km every week, so I know my car very well. There's bugger all difference between BP, V Power, Mobil etc….

    • +4

Yeah, just pure brand-washed delusional thinking that retailers rely on to make profits.

    • +2

      What's your economy like?

      • +2

        Budget deficit.
        Massive overspending.
        GDP is low.
        Jobs and growth!

        • +1

Everyone should avoid driving FGX Falcons in that case…

    • I don't know what happens. My local is just an independent, which is actually super busy (it's one of the last servos before heading into the "country"). I only ever fill up either at this one or 3-4 different 7/11s and almost exclusively with U98.

Could have been a coincidence though that my local gave me better mileage. I'll need to suss it out again when their cycle is low

  • +11

    Hampton Park's got U98 for 134.5

    • Back up to 152.5

      • next best is 144.7 Hassall Grove if you need it urgently

        • +2

Yeh saw that in the tracker.
Im in no rush so will keep an eye out

  • +2

NSW average has gone up. Lock in U91 for 127.9 now before it's too late.

im using latest app version + FakeGPS Free but has been getting issue locking lately.
I kept hearing about NOX. Is this more reliable way to lock price in?

    • +3

Nox requires a computer/laptop to use.. So basically nox will not work on your phone. But the short answer to your question re reliability is Yes.

  • +1

U91 today is better at my local woolies.
    Bowser price is 134.7.

    134.7 less 4c
    Less 5% via egift
    Effective end price of 124.17.

    Vs 7/11 best lock of 127.9 u91

    • +1

126.9 at Pimpama now. Closes the gap a little.

    • bit of effort required for woolies

      • +1

        opportunities for the prepared.
suggestion to have egift woolies ready for when deals pop up.
(i keep $50+ in the money app, logs it up and refreshes quiet easy)

        • Amateur.
          I raise you $200.

        • @cwongtech:
          lol
i buy $200 values when I reach under $50 or so.
*i don't need to win this battle of yours ;)

    • this is only valid to those near cheap woolies and also spending enough to earn 4c off

      • you are correct.
        helpful to some.

    • Unfortunately Woolies have this thing where they don't like selling 98 at most their own branches (the Caltex-owned ones that don't take e-Gift cards do though) :( Closest 98 to me is 10 minutes away vs 7/11 being pretty close.

      • very true
        u91 for me
        u98 too pricey every week
i use it once every 4 tanks or so…
or when i can lock her in at u91 prices on 7/11

plzplz Mulgrave, Waverley Gardens drop again soon

        • Unfortunately my car is 95 min (so I might as well pay the extra 4-6c from there to get 98).

Waverley Gardens is the real MVP.

  • Anyone having luck locking in after this latest google play services update?

    • Was trying last night, the 7-11 app wasn't changing positions or detecting a spoof.

      • Yup same here for me…

        • same here, nox wont work either

    • +1

Yep. Looks like it's NOX for now.

      • +1

installed NOX. got it right up to entering ccv, then 711 throws error code lima. might have to try again later today.

        • +5

Do the credit card part on your phone, then log into NOX 711 to lock prices.

        • +1

          @IceCreamBandit: thanks very much mate!

    • +4

      Yes, I couldn't lock in.
      Plan A:
Follow this, it does work, my locking is now working once more, however your google pay cards will be wiped out, i.e. the ones you added for contactless transactions via your Google Pay, you will need to re-add them.
      http://incorporateapps.com/fake_gps_free_faq.html
"No-root mode" and "Wait Dialog No-root mode" stopped working ("Google play services" updated 12 July 2018)?
A recent update, July 2018, of the hidden service called Google play services, which is a separate app and not the same as the Google Play Store (the Android equivalent to the AppStore), is causing issues with these modes. So far the best method is to uninstall updates.

      Pretty much you need to:
      1) Go Device Admin Apps (Go Settings in your phone and search it), Special App Access>Device Admin Apps, disable Find my Device and Google Pay.

      2) Go to FakeGps>Three Dots (setting)> Google Play Services Version, screenshot for your records, and take note of the numbers immediately after the open brackets.
So for example, mine said 12.8.72(040408-202717283)

      3) Now go to Apps (as you normally would if you wanted to clear the cache of an App)
      Settings> Apps & Notifications>App Info>Google Play Services
Three dots (top right corner), UNINSTALL UPDATES

      4) Go to the link in the FAQ which takes you to apkmirror for older Google Play Services APKS (https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-service…)
You need to find the one that matches that number (for mine it was 12.6.85 (040408-197041431) May 19, 2018)

      5) Install and done, your fakegps will now work.

      6) If you are using Google Pay, Google Pay Cards (They should be saved with your Google account already, just need to shove in CVCs after selecting them.

      Plan B: NOX.

      • Thanks, that worked!

      • Plan A doesn't seem to work….

        • Ok, it did work after multiple attempts.

The 7-eleven app was giving an error saying that it couldn't find my location, but I pressed the "Find local price" button multiple times till it worked…

  • +24

Mulgrave VIC 98# 133.9c just locked!

    • Good timing, as U91 prices are on the rise. Locked in 116.9 last night, so that was a win of sorts.

      • Well done! Where was 116.9?

        • I suspect that was a typo and meant to be 126.9

        • @sween64: Oops, yes 126.9

      • Ugh, 126.9 and it's actually a cent cheaper now lol. Thats what you get for posting before coffee!

    • You legend! Locked in - cheers!

    • Boom! Locked-in. Thank you.

  • Mock Location on my phone(pixel 2XL) stopped working since last update, just tried NOX, got 'we couldn't find your current location' error….
could anyone please tell me a possible solution?

    • Did you update your location in nox? It takes a few seconds to update

      • yea I did, with the virtual location function. Or did i miss anything?

    • Try uninstalling Google play services as per ronknee's comment below (in Nox, not your phone).
      Worked for me.

    • +1

this happened to me (1st time nox user). i just restarted nox, and then it worked.

  • +10

Here's the workaround for the recent Google Play Services update. Not everyone has a computer with NOX on them all the time. FakeGPS Route FAQ was the source and I summarised it.

    1. Go to Settings. Search for "Device Admin Apps", and go into it. Uncheck "Find My Device" (you can check it again after you are done). Do the same for "Google Pay" if it is available and selected.
If there are other apps listed under Device admin apps, just disable them too temporarily.
Some older devices might not have device admin apps. If you don't find Device Admin Apps (try searching for "device" in Settings), just move to step 2 and if the uninstall from step 2 doesn't work, go back to step 1 and search for "Phone Administrators".

    2. Uninstall updates of Google Play Services. Go to Settings. Search for Google Play Services, and go into it. Press the menu (3 dots at top right) and choose "Uninstall updates". If you receive "Uninstall updates unsuccessful" then you did not remove all apps from Device Admin Apps (step 1).

    3. Google Play Services will go back to an older version. Go to step 4.

    4. Now you need to upgrade the Google Play Services to a fairly new, working version from May 2018, 12.6.85 and install it over the default one. You can download it from APK Mirror. Make sure you enable installation from unknown sources. Scan for viruses for your piece of mind.

    5. Use your Fake GPS and 7 Eleven apps like how you used to.

    6. (Optional but Recommended) Re-enable your Device Admin Apps from step 1.

    7. At some point, Google Play Services will auto-update and you will have to repeat this process from step 1.

    • 8) Re-add Google Pay Cards (They should be saved with your Google account already, just need to shove in CVCs after selecting them.

    • a solution that requires avoiding updates to Google play services isn't a good option IMO.

      • +4

Agreed, hence "workaround" until there's a permanent solution. It's also absolutely necessary if you're someone like me who:

        • Is at work.
        • Doesn't have access to a computer with NOX installed.
        • Wants to lock in U98 @ 133.9 c/L before the price changes.

Otherwise, is there a better option that you can suggest?

        • or you could be like me -

          all of the above, plus:

          • working in a location where one of the closest 8 7-eleven stores is Waverley Gardens :)

due to this I haven't needed to fake gps fuel lock and therefore no, i don't have a better option.

Not to take anything away from your suggested workaround, but it is good for people to be aware that it isn't an ideal situation and that there are consequences with rolling back google play services..

for example, if any apps you use rely on a newer version of google play services (unlikely for now as it is too recent an update, but will be an issue as time progresses), than that could cause issues in other apps.

          Just pay the retail price

        • +1

          @Anddee:

Why participate in this form them. The whole point is fuel locking.

        • +2

          @KBZ:

there's always one idiot that doesn't get it..

          Nice try, 7-Eleven store rep.

Committing fraud for a cheaper fuel price

        • +1

If your PC is a laptop (like most people), you can take it to work and wifi hot-spot off your phone, use NOX to lock.

        • -1

          @Anddee:

          well… yeah

          and it's fun.

        • price has already changed.

        • -1

          @nardz:

Waverley Gardens is still $0.20L more than interstate at times.

      • -1

        IMO I agree

        • I'm open to new ideas.

      • You can somewhat easily modify the app and create your own working mock locations enabled one. If you are a little programming inclined it's simple.

The hardest part imo was setting up the Google Maps API

        • Have you done so already?

        • +2

          @cwongtech:

Yes. I actually just locked in. If there's an app to record my screen I can show you guys..

        • +1

          @Freighter:

          Can you share the APK?

        • +1

          @ronnknee:

Let me see if I can get the map to show up with just the mock locations "disabled". (In reality I must have the Fake GPS set/enabled to search for any fuel). But since I rarely find any crazy cheap prices it works good for me

        • @Freighter:

LOL nice you got like 30 stores in that area!

        • @ronnknee:

Ha! It should be 20, I tried to make it so that it would search the 20 closest stores for the cheapest price to minimize the mock location thing but it kept fudging up. I reverted it back to it's original state. I chucked the link up to the APK below.

    • I've tried this and found that 7/11 app won't work because it displayed a messaging, app won't work until you update GooglePlayServices.

    • Legend!

  • Nox doesn't seem to work for me. Worked this morning. When I click lock, it just hops back to the main lock page. Anyone have the same issue?

    • Have you locked more than 2vouchers today on one device?

      • yes. Been locking for some mates. is that the issue?

        • +1

2voucher limit per day per device.
Android ID limits 2locks per day

    • +1

you can open more emulators with different device id.

  • It's a bugger to watch, but here's proof. I'm uploading it to Dropbox now, gonna have dinner and if it's up in time I'll post the APK.

I don't know how many API hits I'm allowed for free so we'll see how it goes.

    https://imgur.com/S8N1Bnx

edit: APK link. For some reason it asks for SD card permission but I don't know why.

You need to have Fake GPS enabled to search for the cheapest fuel. You can use this APK to redeem the fuel too (did today). Also, you will need to uninstall your original app because of signature verfication

more edits: Don't blame me if 7/11 somehow ban you're account. All I did was change 1 number in the source code, but you can't resign apps with their original signature and get the maps API to work.

    • -4

Can you delete your comment but rather send apk files through DM. I think they would block every account as they are closely following this forum.

      • Okie doke, done.

I don't know how I am meant to know who is safe to share it to and who isn't. Maybe I'll just send it to a moderator and they can decide.

Actually, how about the community decides if I publicly release the APK link. Just let me know and lunchtime tomorrow will be the decision.

        Goodnight

        • id vote for an ozbargain only release to keep it somewhat low key. Otherwise I would really appreciate a PM with a link to the apk.

      • -5

Any one can neg but, what is the use if they block everyone? Also can they find that if we are using a modded apk? I dnt have idea about this so asking?

        • Apart from all of the error logging and tracking they do (never wrote it down), these are the headers that are sent while you search for fuel:
          X-OsVersion, X-AppVersion, X-DeviceID, X-OsName, X-VmobID, X-DeviceSecret.

        • I dnt have idea about this so asking?

Then why did you claim earler that they would block every account as they are closely folllowing forums. Any evidence?

        • +1

          @pyramid:
No but in risk of deactivation.Because there is high chance I guess. Anyway thats just my thought and I just want everyone should be able to use it without any problem. I apologize if I am overthinking.

      Freighter

Upload the apk to a free file hosting website such as UPLOD or dailyuploads.

You may then consider somewhat limiting the link to the OZB community and preventing the direct link being indexed by search engines by using snahp or encode the link into Base64

Regardless of your decision, I appreciate your effort to share with us.

more edits: Don't blame me if 7/11 somehow ban you're account. All I did was change 1 number in the source code, but you can't resign apps with their original signature and get the maps API to work.

U98 is 136.5 at Glen Waverley, if you missed out yesterday.

    • just tried it… its coming up 154 @ brandon?

edit: wierd… even through its in glen waverly - its loading up the more expensive prices…

      • There are two different stores in Glen Waverley, granted the Fuel Lock should show you the cheapest.

U98 is 136.5 @ the store on Blackburn Road.

  • +1

Fake GPS method working again. Google rolled back to 12.6.85. update your app. Uninstall 7 eleven and reinstall may version.

  • +11

Ok. Here's the APK for everyone (again). Password(s) are the name of this site in lowercase. You probably need to enter it twice.

Worked fine for me the past ~10 times with me, so surely it should work for most others.

    • Thanks buddy.

    • I already have a locked voucher on the original app.. Would it disappear if I install this modded app? Thanks

      • +1

I guess not. Lock is linked to account, not to the app itself.

    • What does this modified APK provide over the default app?

      • +1

Let's you have Fake GPS spoofing running while you search for fuel so no mock locations errors

    • Thanks, can you make it search australia-wide for the cheapest fuel?

      • +1

Not worth risking overloading 7-Eleven servers.

        • True.. but how does masters script work?

        • +1

@jdogg: Not sure. Some third party websites as well as 7-Eleven hits I guess. I think as a community we should leave it at his script.

        • +2

          @sween64:
also it is one person (masters) sampling every few hours to check as opposed to a larger number (people using this app) polling australia wide (if it was to search all)

    • Sorry mate, I've tried dl your app but when I installed it it doesnt show the 711 fuel app. Am I doing it wrong?

      • Someone else had this problem. The file should be 7.55MB. Here is the md5 sum.

        aad16d7e748bbdc6b0b098bb5a1b2d18 7 Eleven Fuel_v1.5.2_no_mock_locations.apk

        • It's showing only 2.5mb. What am I doing wrong.

        • @angelkulit025:

Mustn't have downloaded properly. Try again?

        • @Freighter: I did 3 times already and still doing the same

        • @angelkulit025: yes same.. 2.5mb

Edit: got it now.. Had to put password in the download page.

        • +1

@tarken:may be they installed the apk from the ad. It happened to me aswell. The downloaded apk doesnt have name and then I realized that it is the apk from ad. You need to go one step further and download from the link.

        • @bindassever:
Yes you're right, the 2.5mb apk was from the ad.

        • @angelkulit025: what is the password?

        • @agam2104: ozbargain

        • -1

        • @bindassever:
          What is "ad"?
          Is it Application Developer?

        • @Joe888:
Normal google stocky ads. And the apk you install from ad wont have any name and is likely to be spam. Make sure your downloaded file is 7.55 mb and a 7 eleven logo comes up when you try to install.

        • @bindassever:
My downloaded '7 Eleven Fuel_v1.5.2_no_mock_locations.apk' is actually 7.20 MB (7,551,899 bytes). Are we talking about the same apk?

        • +1

@Joe888: that is the normal one. Should work.

        • +1

          @Joe888:

          That's the correct download

        • I managed(finally) to download the right .apk file with 7-11 logo on it but somehow the installation fails, am I supposed to uninstall the original 7-11 app and install your version instead?

        • @Craze: yes. because the signature of app is different from your installed one so you need to uninstall your app first and install it.

    • Thanks for this. Works a treat!

    • Thanks mate.

Had to muck around a bit with the download but, worked a treat once I installed the APK.

    • Ive installed it but it has installed some spam in the process as well.

When i open chrome on my phone it opens up a spam tab too

      • +1

Did you install the right apk?

        • you are right I think i installed the wrong one along with the right one. Found the offending one and uninstalled it

          thanks

        • @phocus: what was the offending app? I'm trying to find it to uninstall it

        • @pepsicles: I forget what its called. But if you go to your settings and find all apps, it was on the bottom of the list with no logo/icon.

          uninstall and all is good

        • @phocus:
I had the same thing! Was the most intrusive spam crap ever. Pop up ads would appear while browsing, watching YouTube, watching Netflix… Like phocus said, it was a blank / no logo / icon at the bottom of apps list

    • hey mate installed your app. Signed up and it asked for my drivers licence after credit card….
      Have concerns about its security.
Did anyone else get asked for drivers licence?

All I did was allow mock locations. You can sign up with the official app and then install mine and it works fine.
Or you can log-in to an existing account.

        • Cheers, chucked my licence in anyway and credit card details lol. Will just have to trust you.

    • Thanks Freighter, worked a treat on LG G5 that was getting mock locations error since latest Google update. I need to shout you a beer or two at the next OzBargain event.

      • Ha! No problems mate. Hopefully it's worked alright for you. I haven't had a problem with it yet 😁

    • Guys here's a mirror for the apk download.
I had a lot of trouble using the link Freighter provided.

      • Thanks mate. I originally just uploaded it to Dropbox but apparently that wasn't a good idea.

    • Hey mate can you pls share that app again, the link on here is dead, it's saying file not found. Thanks a bunch!

    • Hi. The link is broken again. Can you please share New link for the app?

    U98 136.9 Glen Waverley VIC

    • Is it still up? Its showing on 11-Seven but I cant seem to get this price at Glen Waverley showing 154.7 on app. Lowest in area is Nunawading 147.9 :(

      • No long at the two Glen Waverley stores. One of them had gone up to 177!

  • +9

11-Seven now has a JSON API for those wanting to use the prices in their own scripts/programs without parsing the HTML. See the "API" link on the main page for details.

  • Can you have the same credit card linked to two 7-Eleven Card accounts?

    • +2

It works for my two accounts

  • +47

I've added a guide to send e-mail alerts when prices on 11-Seven drop below a certain price. Might be handy for those trying to catch some rare prices (ie. for U98). See the "Price Alerts" link on the main page for details.

    • Username checks out. Great work!

    • Wow, awesome!

    • You're a legend master131, thank you so much for of your ongoing help!

    • Thanks Master. I am assuming I don't have a way of knowing if it is working until I get an alert. My alert is for cheaper than the woolworths 4c and 5% off so might be a couple of days.

This really is Ozbargain, there must be over 20-30 regular posters here and only 7 patreons.

      • I'm suprised people are saving $10 a tank but not support master131 for just $1.

        • +4

          This is ozbargain. It's cuthroat.

    • Hi master131, I set up the Alerts, works great! But I forgot to add alert for E10, how can I go back in and add E10 alert? Or is it easier to just start a whole new Alert for E10 alone?

      • You can have multiple scripts on the same google account :)

Easier to just make a new one haha

Hey guys I have a workaround to the gps issues

Would rather people PM me and I will explain.

Why? Put your explanation here for everyone's benefit

    • +5

This is a public forum. Whats stopping some 7/eleven employee from creating an account and messaging you? Might as well just post it here.

      • +7

I had 6 people message me and I have checked their post history to make sure they're not a ghost account.

I could have kept quiet but I believe I have a solution that can help a few people, and I'm not withholding this for my own benefit, but I also REALLY don't want this to end because I save $30 a week.

View the screenshot? What are you doin mate?

      • Using NOX to generate a voucher, taking a screen shot to show the 7 11 attendant.

        • +2

No need to screenshot. Your voucher is linked to your account. Sign in to the 7 eleven app on your phone and you'll see it.

Enter app settings of 7/11; clear data.
          Open 7/11. Re log in.
          Voucher will pop up

        • @chinezejew:
          Thanks. Every time?

        • @kiwipride:

Nah not everytime. But it's my workaround method to get the barcode up.
*I got 3 accounts I try use from one phone.
Tried and tested… Hasn't failed me yet

        • Don't have to clear all data just clear app cache, don't have to login again then and the voucher will appear as soon as you start the app again.

  • Hope everyone has locked in. Pimpama now $1.60/L as is everyone else. Not many in Qld now with 'cheap' fuel…

    • U91 is 131.9 in Labrador, Qld. Vic and NSW are also below 136.

      • Labrador just jumped too. Parkwood was the cheapest last night and it's jumped as well

Nambour, Marcoola and Noosaville are the cheapest ones now.

        • NSW is on downward trend. If you can hold off for a couple of days hopefully it'll be below 130.9

        • @Sweetnsour: 129.1 and dropping…

        • +1

          @sween64:

          U91 127.9 now

        • +2

          @tarken:

Will Shell Harbour run out of U91 soon?
Looking for U98 at U91 prices.

        • @chinezejew: lol we can only hope ;)

  • -5

    projectzerothree.info/prices.php stopped updating a week ago :/

    • +3

All prices are correct as of 26/07/18 06:45 (Melbourne/Sydney time).

      🤔

    • Are you using https?

      • Thats not it. I'm on https and its working fine

    • -4

I swear it was reading All prices are correct as of 18/07/18 at time of posting. And yes, I was using HTTPs. Oh well.

  • latest app no longer opens on jailbroken iphones :(, dont upgrade to 1.6

lemme know if anyone still has an older IPA will try to downgrade.

    • +1

Have you installed liberty lite (ios11)?
Try it and report back please. Thanks.

    • +1

I'm on iOS app version 1.6.0.1673 and it opens on my Electra jailbroken 11.1.2 iphone. I do have liberty (lite) installed.

      • +1

Try the new tweak: AppStore++ or App Admin which downgrads app from the app store.

Libertas new tweak is coming soon to avoid jailbreak detection.

        • neither app admin or appstore++ have available downgrades or working for me on 11.3.1 and using No substitute doesn't seem to work. restarting and being in a nonjb state also not working

        • +1

@chris_: 1.6 7-Eleven Fuel was crashing for me. Turned on "Block Jailbreak Detection" in Liberty and 7-Eleven fuel stays open without any pop-up.

          I'm on 10.1.1 though.

        • @sween64: anyone pm me the repo?

        • @chris_: PM sent

  • -1

It seems that the party will over soon. They are discontinuing support for old versions of android devices soon so Nox will be no longer available.

    • Damn, how do you know?

    • +6

Nox added Android 7.1.2 in the latest release.

The new update shows a popup warning saying it will be dropping support for Android versions older than 6.

      • is the latest release only available for windows atm?

      • Doesn't installing a custom ROM/OS get around this issue?

      • +1

Will Nox with Android 7.1.2 work with GPS Spoofing?

        • +1

Can you elaborate more about your question?
NOX has an inbuilt location spoofer so you dont need to install an app which does the same thing.

        • @angelkulit025:

I tried Bluestack before but it did not work so I was wondering if Nox 7.1.2 will work too.

          Hope Nox continues to work

      • @angel, there's a mac version. You need to go to multi-drive and add a new emulator using the version 7. The default emulator is set to android 4.

@awkward, don't think custom roms can be installed on nox, nox itself is like a "custom" rom.

        @oysbank, it works fine.

        • huh? multi-drive? where is that? The NOX version installed on my MAC still says version 1.2.1.0

  • +1

I just spun up the latest version of Nox, and tried their new experimental Android 7.1.2 version - used the fake location, and was able to progress to the point of locking in the # of liters on a backup account (didn't go ahead with the final lockin as I have no funds on that account).

Seems like it should still work.

    • where did you download this?

Edit, found it in the multi-Instance manager

  • +17

100 for E10 at Eltham Vic?!?

    • thats freakin cheap!!!

    • wooo, locked thanks

    • Got it Thanks!

      • -4

Did anyone notice "7/11 Research" on the Eltham VIC name on the petrol script? This something to be suspicious of??

        • -1

Thought it was a bit weird, but comes up as the same place on Google maps.

        • +13

Research is the name of a suburb neighbouring Eltham.

        • And if anyone asks you had a quick visit to Victoria over the weekend and saw a new 7/11 opening up ^_^

    • -1

Wow $1. this is amazing price. can't believe this be still available for such long hours till now!

    • +1

      Holy crap! Honey pot?

Also E10 is bad for you engine imho.

      • +1

Used E10 on my Holden Cruze always sitting on 204,000km still good 🤔

        • +6

always sitting on 204,000km? Did you unplug your odometer?

        • @HONDA4LIFE: nah I meant as in I've always used E10 😂

          Should have used a , 🤔

      • Great price! But yes, shame it's E10.

  • +9

miximg e10 with last 3rd tank of u98
    will it perform like u91??

    at $1.00 first attempt today

    • Haha I like your logic, here have an upvote

    • Haha I'm doing exactly the same thing after the cheap U98 from last week.

    • LOL that's what I was thinking

  • -2

    Don't worry

  • +1

I'm getting a few errors… Sometimes when trying to top up, it'll say "Account details changed: your cc has expired or your info has been modified outside this app". I've tried adding a new card and it won't work.

Then, when trying to top up, I get "error: we are unable to accept card transactions for your account error code: lima"

I've updated to the most recent, not rooted. Haven't used 7-11 in over a month.

    Any ideas?

    • You can try changing your CC details here: https://www.my7elevencard.com.au/login

    • I had the same problem a few weeks ago. I tried removing the card but then it wouldn't let me add it again. So I sent an email to 7 eleven support and they fixed it for me.

  • Ever since the last update, my HTC hasn't been working when I try to lock in it lags until the location goes back to my current location using the fake gps app.

    Any help from anyone?

  • +4

Anyone here regularly lock prices from interstate and redeem in your own state? Any problems or banks with that?

    • +7

If questioned, either say mind your business, or tell them you've just returned from an interstate trip.

    • +2

      You charge too much here.
I just came back from Qld/wa/nsw/VIC

I've even locked a couple of times for the attendant at 7/11. He was so greatful.

    • A friend of mine had his account suspended after locking in on the 0.1 cent/L deal. He had to prove that he was interstate at that time. A receipt showing the date and state was sufficient.

    • +1

Been locking in nationwide now for almost a year and have never ran into any issues.

  • -3

Link is showing ETHAM VIC e10 for 100c.

I’m not in the area so can’t confirk on the app

    • +1

      What?

      It's already confirmed…….

    • +2

You don't need to be in the area to confirm on the app. You can use the store finder.

  • @master131 Thanks for your legendary work. I kept putting off signing up to Patreon but have done it tonight. Cheers.

What sort of traffic do you see these days?

    • +2

Thanks for the support. I'd say about ~2.5-3k visits a day on the main price page. Overall activity/traffic has increased due to price alerts and the inclusion of an API but I haven't included those in the figure.

      • +1

Looks like the Alexa rank is creeping up too. :D

I've put your Patreon link in the description above so hopefully you get a few more dollars per month.

  • +1

I just found this tread, sadly there is no 7-11 petrol station that located in a my town … Otherwise, master131 would be my first Patreon ever.

    • +1

Keep it mind if you ever come down to Melbourne.

      • Im surely will do.

  • So it appears my app has updated. I don't recall ever hitting update, but Fake GPS no longer seems to work because the 7/11 app seems to send requests to get current location ASAP.

    • It would be linked to google play services, not 7/11..

    • found any work around to this? im also having the same issue

      • Freighter's APK works.

  • +1

hope u98 goes down the same price as U91 again as my tank is running low.
Cmon Mulgrave 7-11 hear my call!!!

  • +3

WA cheaper today than NSW for some varities. WA will go up tomorrow. NSW is unlikely to get much cheaper.

    U91 126.5 Malaga WA
    U95 138.5 Malaga WA
    U98 144.5 Malaga WA

Ripped from 11-Seven. Thanks master131. Confirmed in 7-Eleven app.

added 18L to the E10 tank over the weekend.
the car feels much better with a 50%+ mix of U98.

      • brilliant

    • +2

Just tried Nox on PC to lock in hampton park and it worked a treat! Had to log out and log back in on phone for the voucher to show up though. Thanks heaps!

      • cheers

  • damn , getting code lima

  • +2

Got it, cheers Syed8. Bless Hampton Park 7/11 -they have saved me a tremendous amount of money

  • +1

Hampton Park VIC U98 price still 134.7 lock it in before it goes up

  • Yeah getting error code lima while topping up with credit card..

    • +1

Cycle through the different amount. It's hit and miss

  • +1

Price Update U98 Hampton Park before 134.7 now 152.7

    • -5

Was this a 7-11 app trap?

      • +2

Nah.. More likely theyve run out of fuel.

        • -5

That doesn't make sense to me…

        • +3

@HONDA4LIFE: They run out of U91 so sell U98 at U91 prices.

      • +2

        No.

        • -3

          How can you be sure?

        • +4

@HONDA4LIFE: Past experience. The only trap so far was U91 for 0.1 cents per litre.

  • +1

Tried the NOX trick for the first time today. Worked like a charm. Saved `$2 on a full tank of U95.

  • Master131
Do you accept PayPal friends n family??

    • No but you can pledge on Patreon using PayPal and then delete your pledge straight after. No need to wait for the 1st day of the month, the transaction is made immediately now.

  • +5

Used my $1 a litre E10 voucher last night… saving of $11.35 off the price at the pump.

    Excellent!

    • +1

I got $21 off and the lady said it's the biggest discount she has seen before lol, this thread is amazing! It's awesome what master131 and others are doing.

  • +2

Unable to sign-in to the app (after signing out). Anyone having similar issue?

    • +2

I got "We are currently experiencing issues with payment and fuel locks…" error

      • Yep, same, and the only option is to exit the app.
I just wanna use one of 'My Offers" but I can't get to them…

    • Global outage, I just called them up to get credited.

  • At 711 now and it says all gift cards are not accepted due to some system error on the pumps. Seems to be a genuine issue unrelated to price locking

    • +1

Need fuel now so hoping I can send them the receipt and they can.credit me

      • They usually do.

        • Might be weird as my station is at WA and my lock is on Lithgow.

        • +6

@TarquinOliverNimrod: How was your work trip to Lithgow?

        • +4

          @billy_bob:
I thought Hampton Park was where everyone went for the business conference this time?

        • @TarquinOliverNimrod:

It was a busy couple of days….

Went to Lithgow via Hampton Park and via Mulgrave…..

Speaking of which…i due for a trip to Lithgow as well…..

        • +5

@Dud: I'm in Brisbane. I go for "frequent drives" to Deception Bay, Caboolture, Pimpama and Ipswich. I once went to Mulgrave, Vic to check out the frangipanis.

        • @Levathian:

haha….you need to come to VIC to see the penguins.

  • Can't even log-on to lock the cheapest price in for next week….

    • i can login now

  • Did everyone revert to an older google play services app or something? My fuel app hasn't worked for over a month.

Or have we all had the devices converted to rooted?

    • I think most people using Android are using Nox.

  • +14

Ding ding, price alert (thanks master)
    U98 - 130.9
11-Seven Wishart, Upper Mount Gravatt, QLD

    • Yep same locked in

    • are you using the alert script? (via google)?

Mine doesnt seem to work :(

      • Mine is fine.

        • Yep using the script.

      • Have you set up the trigger correctly? You might need to reduce the time, eg. check every 30 minutes.

    • OzBargain conference at Wishart!
      Get driving!

    • +1

I've been meaning to get away from this cold Melbourne weather. Now, apparently I have. Still cold though

    • ..And it's gone!

    • that didnt last long

  • sh*t!!! i haven't used mine when i locked in 134.5 at hampton park =(

    • 2L at 134.5 then lock the new price. Or 2nd account

      • nah,,too late now.it s all gone =(

        • +1

wish 7-11 app had cancel existing fuel lock capabilities

        • @tidie:

          a couple options here….

          01) Fill up 2 litres or so, pay with the fuel lock. Lock in new price.
          02) Create another account.

          Hope this helps.

        • @Dud: as i said too late now.. the price has gone up.

  • Does the app now require driver's license info to register?!!? Don't remember doing this before>

    • Yes, it's a new fraud check system they have in place.

      • Do they actually verify it? It might seem strange to fill up with a Vic license and then lock in at QLD.

        • +1

I'm sure you have an important business meeting in Qld today

        • They verify it upon registration, but what they do with it afterwards is a mystery.

    • Anything about it in the T&C's ?

  • +1

Having trouble topping up a new account. Error Code: Sierra.

    • had the same issue, it seems to work again now

      • +1

Still getting the same error code :(

        • oh .. i tried a few times 2 cards and it came up with that then too many attempts or something, then while on the phone to call support got an email to say try again in a couple of minutes then it worked

  • +3

U98 is still 132.1 at Werribee

    • U98 is 130.9 at Wishart

      • +1

        It's gone.

        • bugger, was just going to lock in

        • @tidie: Just travel to Werribee instead. Still good value :)

        • +2

          @tidie: it's 1.2c difference. On a 50L tank it will be 60c more :)

    • Jus checked on 7/11 app, it says 1.50 :(

  • i've tried 10 times today to firstly locked in the U98 @ WIshart and then Werribee but everytime I tried to lock (Nox) it says enter CVV - i enter and it spews out error code… i tried just any local 7/11 near me using my iOS app, it also threw the "unknown error" at me… no issues with the card, the CVV/info is 110% correct, i checked and rechecked… for the life of me i can't understand what the hell is happening!!

    any ideas OzB brains trust?

    • +3

Top up using your phone, then lock with NOX.

      • Tried this and got error code Juliet.

        • Maybe too many attempts? Leave it for 24 hours.

      • that did the trick, thank you! just a shame i've missed the bargains from this morning lol

  • +11

U95 is 128.9 at Penrith NSW

  • Is anyone else getting "this app is only supported on unmodified versions of ios" on jailbroken iOS devices? It's been working well for months/nothing has been updated then this happened today..

    • Yep. Just use Liberty to block jailbreak detection.

  • Just filled at 7/11 Kensington, the shopkeeper insist the app server is still down even though I can access the app today.
I ask him to just give it a try and he refuse. What a pain!!!

    • +1

You should've told him you won't pay until he scans it through.. Some people are real (profanity) eventhough they're not even the owner of the shop.

      • It wasn't the attendants fault, it seems like the whole system is down and they've been explicitly told not to allow barcodes, it happened to a friend also today.

It's a real pain because there is no signage saying they aren't allowing it until you get to the checkout. It's head offices fault, not the staff.

        • How do I contact 7/11 to get refund of the difference?
Do I just contact them through contact us form on their website?
          https://www.7eleven.com.au/contact-us

I don't see a button to upload receipt though..
I've captured screenshots of my lock price and voucher barcode just in case… my voucher expires tomorrow morning

        • @cimot:

I've got no idea, my friend just cut the difference because it was a small fill-up, I think you're on the right track. Might just be better trying to give them a call in the morning about it.

      • +4

I dnt know how the staff would react when I would have said, I am only paying through app. I got no cards and cash but have the app loaded.

        • I think that would be the best answer ;) clever you!

        • Should've told him that… might get away with a tank of fuel for free :)

        • They will ask you to provide driver license and phone number, and ask you to come back to pay on the next day.

    • +2

I think it's BS to make ppl pay full price. I asked the attendant before I filled up.

    • +2

or, you know.. Just do what the t's and c's say when you are unable to use a locked in price due to some technical problem. Pretty simple.
I've had it once before but didnt bother due it being only a couple of bucks (and didnt feel like raising attention to my often fast out-of-the-blue holiday trips to locations that strangely coincided with the cheapest 7-11 with fuel)

threatening not to pay etc just seems childish when their terms clearly cover this if you want to claim it

WHAT IF THERE IS A TECHNICAL PROBLEM AT THE TIME OF REDEMPTION?
      - In rare cases, 7-Eleven may not be able to redeem your Fuel Price Lock Voucher at the time you wish to make your fuel purchase. If this happens, and you have already dispensed the fuel, you must purchase the fuel at the standard pump price and finalise payment at that price. We will credit the difference in accordance with this clause 6.
      - You will be issued with a store transaction receipt for proof of purchase
      - In the settings menu of the App you can find contact details for the 7-Eleven Customer Service
      - Email your receipt and a screen shot of your Fuel price Lock voucher and/or the unique 13 alpha numeric barcode to 7-Eleven Customer Service [email protected]
      - Your Fuel Price Lock voucher discount will be promptly credited to the Card associated with the App.

      • +1

I've done it before and have gotten a refund of the difference. Once they even gave me an extra $5 credit for my troubles.

  • +13

      • +1

Use it or make a new account and top up.

  • +8

Loving this price alert Google script.

Now I'll never miss a "we ran out of 91 octane" super cheap U98 price :)

master131, I just setup my Patreon as well. Your scripts are easily saving me over $20 per month at the moment. Cheers!

    Topped up 40L.
    Paid with new voucher.

    Re-locked barcode again.
    7days 132.1 of U98

    Thx!!!

    • IS there a reason to get U98 on a car that doesn't need it? Heard it was pointless

      • Try to compare it. Unless your car is more than 10 years old.. You wouldn't notice the difference.

      • The throttle is more exciting with u98.

        • -4

          Are you like 10?

        • -2

          @masster:

          Is the word responsive better?

          10-15% more distance with u98.

With u91 only being 6c behind. Kinda no brainer to top up u98 at 132.1

          …R U like 10?
          (I'm 10)

        • -3

          @chinezejew:

How does a higher octane give you 10-15% more distance?

        • -2

          My car does.
          I'm no chemist.
You may use whatever fuel you like (doesn't bother me one bit)

        • -3

          @chinezejew:

Car is simple physics and chemistry. Not sure how 98 octane fuel would provide 10-15% increased output

        • -1

          @masster:

          Dude… Please move on.
          My opinion only.

          Use E10 whatever you want.

6c more when locked in correctly is damn good in my mind.

132.1 u98… Did you miss out?

    • Boo, gone again.

Actually an Android user, planing on moving over to iPhone.

        • +6

          @sshazam:

          Lol. Why?

        • @kiwipride:

I use a Mac so it integrates a lot better with it and most of my friends use an iPhone so it's nice having iMessage.

I like Android but every device I've had has ended up having some major wifi related problem around the 2 year mark.

  • first fuel lock experience today… walked in proud of myself and OzB discovery ahoy! …. app wouldnt scan for fuel… logged in/logged out, wouldnt scan… wouldnt work for free donut either… line up behind me now 15 ppl deep, cashier getting very frustrated. i said take your time, all good, serve the others no problems… she calms down and starts calling their internal customer service, on phone for 10 min… by this stage i'm like, all good just charge me retail and i'll worry about it online… she tries again… no luck. so i'm not sure what's going on, some of those "15 deep" behind me were also using fuel app, no probs…

    • +3

Not sure if this would have helped, but one tip…always have your screen on full brightness and with no filters (eg f.lux/blue light)

      • +2

yep, definitely came to mind too - made sure screen on max, held it in the air, laid it on the bench - it was scanning and beeping but her terminal just kept returning "ERROR" - for both fuel & donut. i wonder if my account had been flagged or something. anyway i've followed the advice above and emailed [email protected] so will see how promptly they resolve.

        • either on your end or the stores end mine worked in the 1st attempt even with the Blue light filter turned on and broken touch

        • I've had this before and the attendants manually punched in the codes. Maybe ask them to try this next time.

      • +7

The 7-eleven app should max the brightness automatically when you bring up a voucher barcode on the screen. It does on my Android phone anyway.

        • It does on iOS too.

    • There was a comment earlier saying they needed to apply ID drivers licence with their new 711 account.
Did you pop in drivers licence details?

      • If you're referring to my comment, No I didn't, was having problems with my account not adding a new card, don't know if it was related to the App problems or not but it worked the next day.

        So, didn't need another account.

      • i recently signed up and there was no request for my licence details; it only requested my email, mobile (verified by sms) & DOB only

          So an OzBargain bot..?
But the email script he set up already can be set to check every hour..

but not everyone is interested in the same fuel type, or even possibly the same state

pretty sure master has gone above and beyond already, and email subscribed alerts is way more useful than a post in here as its completely user customisable

        • +3

          @SBOB:
          WAY above and beyond.

        • -3

@cwongtech: yes but that requires each google account to poll his script. This would be a push from his script to this thread.

  • Trying to lock in fuel but once I select how much fuel I want it's not locking it in, even though there's enough in the account. Anyone else having this error? it was working fine a few hours ago.

    • There's a 2 lock limit per day. If you are using nox you add a new emulator and that'll allow you to fuel lock again.

      • do i then need to sign up to a nox account as well as a google play account? thanks.

        • You have to download the nox program but can use your existing Google account to login.

      • Found out my location settings was throwing it off.

Ended up locking in at a slightly more expensive store, still a good deal though. It was just strange as I had locked in that location prior with no issues.

  • Having issues for the first time logging in. Can't log in on nox or 2 different phones. It tries to log in but saids "The request is taking too long. Please try again. [Error code: Foxtrot]" Anyone had this before and found a fix?

    • Having the same issue. Got a feeling it's a server side issue.

  • Hmm, got a notification when I opened the app saying they won't be supporting Android 5.0 any more.

    • Nox version 6+ should b fine

  • Is nox safe to use (logging into gmail account, paying with CC etc)? And can someone please post the guide for locking fuel prices. Seems like fake GPS and fuel lock no longer works on any phones I try it on.

    • +1

You can just top up balance on your phone, just log into the same 7/11 account on Nox.

    • +4

You can download the app apk format file and drag it into NOX.I did that so I do not need to login Gmail.

Best way to top up balance is to transfer a giftcard(paid by AmEx or other) bought instore.

    • Can confirm fake GPS and latest 711 app working fine on my old Nexus 5

  • -2

Damn, the work network started blocking access to the price checking site! https://projectzerothree.info/prices.php

Any other ways to check via desktop? Cheers!

    • +1

Use your phone as hotspot? Or just check on your phone, doesn't use much data….

      • Guess I can use my phone! First world problems haha

  • Has anyone had any experience around locking in a fuel from another state and then using it reasonable shortly after they lock it in (couple of hours).

Do 7/11 get the ban hammer out?

I'm using Nox successfully to lock in throughout Victoria, but would love to nab that 1.29 in NSW :-)

    • +8

reasonable shortly after they lock it in (couple of hours).

What? I just came back from an interstate roadtrip a couple of minutes ago ;)

    • +2

I've locked while at the petrol station and gone in to use it right after.

    • Awesome, thanks guys :-)

  • This is the first time I've been unable to find a workaround. No matter what I seem to do whether it be Nox or on phone I am getting the mock location error and this is without any app updates. I've not paid attention to comments in here for a while. Any new tricks guys?

    • havve you tried dl the "altered" 711 app from this thread which prevents the mock location error?

      • +1

If you mean my one it works fine. I used it today and locked in today too. You just have to have mock locations enabled to lock in (not when paying for your fuel)

        • what do you mean by (not when paying for your fuel)?

I have never touch my mock locations enabled since i have used your modified 711 app and everything works perfectly.

        • +2

@angelkulit025: I meant the only time you need to have a mock location enabled is to lock in. I think I did a crude way of checking if there's mock locations enabled. But it works so it's fine

Edit: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/288802?page=34#comment-616… is a link to the APK.

        • are you going to be updating it once 7/11 force everyone to install to a newer version?

Good job by the way. Great to have it working again.

        • @Dud:

          Already have a workaround sorted.
I've actually modded the new app but I didn't see a difference in functionality so never released it.

        • +4

@Freighter: So I think we may need the new one now. Im getting "please update to latest app" block.

          Thanks for your awesome work!

@Freighter: yeah, freighter, please release the new version, thanks!

        • @Freighter:

    • +9

The modified version is signed using a different key to the original app. The keys are checked to guarantee you're using a "real" version from the original developer. Android will not allow you to update if they keys don't match.

      PS - https://my.mixtape.moe/urpnud.apk

Little birdie tells me there's no root/mock detection. Remove any existing versions first.

    • Nice. Would you please add back the thing that bypass root check with the modded version? The last version i managed to run it on a rooted device but somehow its giving me the root device detected error. Thanks

    • Nice one. Thanks mate.

    • what does the modded APK have. Can we spook GPS? if so, which GPS app?

      • +1

        It disables mock location detection.

      • I think new comments subscribed to everything?

  • Can't seem to lock in the price this morning, I did last night but this morning (using the latest modded app) when I click on the "lock in amount" it just takes me back to the "find my best local price" page

    • Common issue there's a 2 lock limit per 24 hours

    • try other devices with same id

  • Would it be possible to produce a trending chart of the cheapest prices per fuel type over a period of time?

  • +1

Does anyone else ever get suspicious that the 7/11 pumps are inaccurate?

My car just took in 49.1L in a 50L tank, despite the dash showing 50km left until 'empty'…

    • +1

A jerry can may be a better way testing its accuracy.

      • +1

Jerry can is not accurate too as it can expand. 20 litre jerry can brough drom kmart can hold 22litres of fuel

      • -1

Yup. So if I take in a 10L can it better fill up to 10L.

Maybe 7/11 overcharge everyone 10% to fund the lock in app.

    • I think I would take the accuracy of the pump over the accuracy of your cars 'km left' calculation of tank being exactly 50 litres.

      • -3

No but I once filled up when the distance left was 0km and it clicked off at 49L then too…

        • +1

0km can vary a lot on how much petrol is left in tank. Hamish and Andy did a skit and found they could drive 120kms on the gauge showing 0kms left (albeit they were driving on a highway).

        • -5

@andyman1908: incorrect. If the car is on 0km and it fills up to 49L then obviously it won't make another 120km. Duh.

So if it's got 50km left it can't need 49L. Basic logic.

    • +3

Measuring fuel by volume is never accurate due to expansion. The accurate way is to measure by weight (or if we want to be even more technically correct, then mass).

      • +1

        Moles?

      • -10

  • Fuel light just came on :(

Is 128 the best it's gonna get or is it still dropping? I can probably last the weekend… Been waiting ages!

    • +1

I doubt it's going to drop more than that over the next few days other than a random error with some fuels, but you can never really predict the start/end of cycles. If you think it will drop more, just lock it in and only fill up a bit so you can hopefully get some more cheaper later on…

      • It started rising in NSW yesterday.

    • +1

It is good to check on https://aip.com.au/pricing/terminal-gate-prices every now and again, so you know where we are at. 128 is a good buy, it may get a cent or 2 lower at the risk of jumping to 159.90. The typical competitive bottom price is approx 8c less than the tgp price (based on std unleaded price, but can be between 6c up to 10c less at a stretch).

    • +3

I bought a WW egifct card (5% off), I went to woolworths carpark, found a fuel docket, filled up at caltex ww, bought my 6litre of milk (ive got kids), worked out to be 114.8/l.

      • +1

        114.8 x 100/95 + 10 = 130.8 at bowser?
        Nice work

        • I think it is 128.8 at the pump if 114.8 was calculated correctly.

        • @Neoika: I'm getting 130.8c too

        • @Sweetnsour: Why +10 in the formula?Isn't 8 cents the max discount in Woolies servo?

    • seems us mac users are stuck with Nox as they dont have the updated version allowing you to have multi instances, and install an instance thats 'newer'

    • I just downloaded Nox on Mac and locked in, I did have to close and restart Nox after choosing a location before it would work though.

    • I just locked in. It came up with a message saying they are going to stop supporting the current version of android, I clicked ok then proceeded to lock in

    • It looks like it's just an client side (in the app) check. I suppose you could disable it. It was added in the new version (1.6.0) because 1.5.2 doesn't have the check.

      1. Install the 7-Eleven application from the Google Play Store
      2. From the sidebar on the left of the NOX window, select the 2nd icon from the top (this is the GPS spoofer)
      3. Type in your desired location and click Geocode
      4. Press the OK button that appears when your cursor hovers over the white panel at the bottom
      5. Your location should now be spoofed, and now you can lock in at the 7-Eleven application

If you have difficulties topping up in NOX, you will have to top up on your phone.

    • +1

Download 7-11 app to the Nox emulator and sign in with the same account details as the app in your mobile phone. Set h location on Nox and lock the price. You should be able to access the voucher on the app in your mobile now.

What do you need help with? It's literally the same as the old way.

      1) uninstall original 7Eleven app
      2) install my APK
      3) Set a fake GPS location where you want the cheapest fuel to be
      4) lock-in the fuel price

        • What's the method for iOS? Please feel free to share link to that comment if it's already posted. I couldn't find.

      • So this method bypasses the update to Google Play services?

    • It might be the update to Google Play services. Is your phone rooted?

      • I'm pretty sure it is, because after it happened I followed the FAQ

        http://incorporateapps.com/fake_gps_free_faq.html

The 2nd post and it worked initially, now it doesn't

        • If you're rooted, make sure the no root method option is turned off

        • @shiznit:I don't use the fake GPS free app now because of the rubber banding issue I experienced on my phone. And I can't seem to find solution for it. So I used a different app to spoof my location.

        • @angelkulit025: I get similar issues with the fake GPS app. I simply reset the cache on Google maps and Waze and restart the phone and the issues goes away. Was annoying at first though

  • i've tried the 7/11 FAQ but can't seem to find any answer… hopefully OzB can help! I price locked diesel today, went to the store and it wouldn't scan - i emailed them and they immediately reimbursed which was great service… now the question is i have two cars and now want to lock U98 but it still shows the unredeemed diesel voucher - is there a way to remove the diesel fuel lock so i can Nox some fresh U98?

    • +1

Must use it, need minimum delivery or wait 7 days for it to elapse

    • Someone mentioned if you pay using using the money on the app to buy something in store, like a $1 coffee, then it reset the fuel lock? Haven't tried this though, maybe someone else can confirm?

      • It shouldn't reset the fuel lock though, they're different barcodes..
All you can do is fill 2L or whatever minimum delivery is, to force the fuel lock to be used

        • Well that's the problem from the start. The fuel locked voucher doesn't work so why fill up 2L and pay full price.

    • You might have to create a new account in your partner's name, if you can't wait for the diesel lock to expire.
Or you can email them, i'm sure customer service can get rid of your existing fuel lock if you explain the situation to them.

      • All you need is another mobile# (only temp) and a new email address to create an account.

711 helps with the former. Google/your own domain helps with the later.

    • just a follow up - i emailed them and they cancelled the original unredeemed voucher… shame they were 12 hrs too late for me to get the waverley gardens deal ;(

    • i managed to top up via a different device without problem, maybe worth trying

    • I just used a different card. Being on ozbargain you surely must have 5+ accounts with cards :p

    • Expired. Up to 151.9 now

  • Tried to do my first $ top up and getting an error in the app - "We are unable to accept card transactions for your account"

    • Have you already added a card to your account?

      • Yes I have. Some of the others on OzBargain are also expediting same error for some reason.

        • Same as me. I entered the wrong CCV, could that be it?

        • @Shpox: nope everything was correct

    • Use a 7-Eleven Gift Card. Free to purchase in-store, easy to apply to App.

      • Do you know if it's possible to buy a gift card with the fuel app wallet thing? I wanna transfer some funds to a second account

  • Anybody know if there is much bloatware/spyware associated with Nox?

30L gets charged at lock price. 20L at pump price

  • Does anyone have a working link to the last posted APK? Thanks

I think my suspicions about 7/11 are correct. I just filled up at a Caltex and it was spot on VS what my dash was saying (7.3/100). 'll do more tests and comparisons with other family cars but I suspect you should add say 10% to whatever the 7/11 price is to get the 'real' price you are being charged.

Same time of day for fill ups, all on 2nd click, all empties to full and the discrepancy is there, through multiple 7/11 outlets too.

    • +6

You should take a measuring container to the servo you suspect are cheating customers and compare what the pump says to what you actually get.

    • Yeah, this is a really dumb way to check consistency. If you really care about testing this you'll fill up a jerry can to the same level at multiple outlets to compare, and see if the pump matches.
No one's going to care about this except you unless you do that…
If it's really 10% this should be pretty noticeable in a 10 or 20L jerry can as it'll be over 1 Liter off…

    • The dash in all my cars have always been optimistic.
Agree with the others that you need a jerry can to prove the pump is incorrect.

      • Will do when it's next empty.

Bring measuring cylinder for accurate results.
      https://cdn-1.au.xmsymphony.com/700011f12c1c325ecd854e2b7cac…

      • Yes, measuring cylinders are ideal. I have used them in science practical tests to measure out accurate volumes.

    • +2

      all on 2nd click

oh, why didnt you say you were measuring using such scientific accuracy…

      • -3

It's not a "scientific test" but it IS interesting. :/

        • +7

you're claiming 7-11 pumps are delivery ~90% of their rated delivery volume…

          Its either
          a) one of the largest consumer rip offs in Australia, and you're the only one thats noticed; or
          b) not interesting

5L jerry can and prove it, and you can make headlines on every news coverage and newspaper next week ;)

@SBOB: muh it's just an observation. They do offer cheap fuel for a reason :)

        • @Levathian: stop pls

        • -3

@Mungulz: why? I'm entitled to an opinion, and mine is that 7/11 offer cheap fuel but there is a catch. And that catch is A. The pumps might be checked less often and B. Lower quality fuel.

I'd still use the fuel lock when prices are high though… :P

        • +5

          @Levathian:

If you strongly believe this then why stop there and not report it to NMI?

Q9. How can I report an inaccurate petrol pump to NMI?
You can lodge a complaint via the following options:
          • complete our online form
          • call our hotline on 1300 686 664

          Source

  • All the links to the modified APK seem to be down, is there a mirror for this file?

      • Looks like they work, i'll give it a go now. Cheers!

@master131: Do iOS and Android have different versions? Can you share which one is for iOS? Thanks.

        • Can someone shed some light on this please? Neg won't help.

        • @virhlpool:
Of course they do have different versions. It's like asking if the Vindows version of an application can be used for Mac OS.
iOS is impossible unless you jailbreak.

        • -5

@cwongtech: Thanks. How to jailbreak and then where to download iOS app from?

        • +2

          @virhlpool:
Or you can use Nox android simulator (FREE) in your computer and not tamper with your phone's security over $10 saving every week..

        • @virhlpool: This is a good place to start to answer your JB questions. If you can jailbreak then you need to download a location faking tweak.

        • @sween64:

          Thanks. It helps.

    Guys,

I would like pay using Amex card. How would I go on with that.

Ive added a MC card, found the cheaper price and then proceeded to lock in the price however the app is suggesting that it will charge my MC card for the outstanding amount.

    • +3

Lock in the price. Fuel up, then when you go up to the counter to pay, just tell the guy you want to pay using your Amex card. The credit loaded in the app from your MC card will stay within the app.

      • Thanks mate. So I'm assuming $60(avg fill amount) will sit in the account.

        • +1

          Yep.
I always leave the deposit in the account.
7/11 facebook team confirmed it doesn't expire.
Only the gift cards you buy in-store (AND don't redeem it/transfer into your 7/11 account) will expire after 3 years.
