    • great find

    • U98 115.9 @ Waverley Gardens, VIC

Where are you seeing that? I locked in 91 @ 115.9. As I posted above, it's showing as:

      U91 115.9 7-Eleven Waverley Gardens VIC

      U98 133.9 7-Eleven Waverley Gardens VIC

      • Not when I checked it. U91 and U98 at the same price.

        • +1

          Still 115.9. Cheers

    • Great price, just locked in! Thanks

    • How does that price happen?? Wonder if the price shows on the station display board?

      • Typo on their system

      • +4

I've seen servos sell 98 at the 91 price if they are sold out of 91.

    • Attendant said E10 must be less than $1!

    • Too good. Is 26% discount too outrageous? I wonder if I'll get anything other than "oh, that's a great price" this time!! I'll treat the car to some of the good stuff.
      Zoom zoom.

      • This is honestly some of the biggest $$ savings I'll get out of ozbargain.

    • Couldn't believe my eyes!

    • Wow, super cheap. Still there.

    • Thanks mate, locked in! Time to treat my car :D

    • Awesome price, good find!
Tried to top up my account to lock it in (first time topping up petrol l, don't bother with LPG) and I'm getting errors trying to add my card, ugh.

      • Are you trying to add more than $80 on one card? That will give you an error.

    • locked in! cheers!

  • +4

Thanks so much. Just locked in 98 at 115 at Waverly gardens. Cant believe it. It's going for around 175 at the moment in my hood.

    • Awesome find. Thanks

    • still cant lock price…7-11 app finds my mock location and as soon as i turn mock location off in settings, 7-11 app finds nearest petrol statino.

      • Go back to the first page on this topic, there are instructions. Follow them exactly, you need to kill the process in task manager.

Edit: you don't need to turn off the mock location in settings.

That U91 price is great, but so is the P98.. what do I lock in?

edit: seems like I can't lock it in. damn

    • why arent you able to lock it in?

      • didn't show up as 102 at Wynnum.

        • have you tried locking in by faking gps at a nearby suburb instead? I couldnt lock waverley gardens either until I locked gps at Mulgrave.

        • +2

@cediggoric: don't think that's the issue. I think that either the price isn't actually 102, or the 7/11 servers haven't updated.

        • +1

@Nuggets: thanks heaps for the site nuggets! I'm getting the same issue. Site says Fairfield is a crazy 74c, but the app says otherwise. BTW I tried all 3 Fairfields so perhaps you need to specify a state.

        • @DamonT: the data is manually entered by people with no verification so sometimes the info is incorrect. This will only happen for the Q/V/A column. Not much to be done about it

        • @Nuggets: ah of course. oh well. Thanks again for your efforts.

    • Wynum is showing 119.4 for E91.

    • just locked 98 again @115.9 waverley :D

      • Do you get asked where you locked it in at?

        • Havn't been asked before, perhaps they're just curious where nearby it's half a dollar cheaper.

      • There's another 7/11 at that suburb. Check there

  • ULP95 - 121 @ Werribee

    • U91 also 121.1

  • Loving this little rort. Filled my VY commodore with 98, saving $21. Not sure if it benefits from 98 but at the price seemed worthwhile.

I wonder how long this will last? My suburb is one of the most expensive in Australia for petrol (lower north shore in Sydney) and this allows to fill up at the cheapest.

    • I havent tried this yet, do the 7/11 staff care?

      • Nope

      • +2

Sometimes they'll be surprised about how much you've saved and casually ask where did you lock in. You simply say you were interstate during the week.

  • The staff have always showed their usual, complete indifference whenever I’ve ever used it. I’m guessing they’re employees to whom it makes absolutely no difference whether I get a $1 or $50 discount. The app often has additional freebies, such as free coffee, so it’s well worth it.

    • +2

They probably relish the idea of sticking it up to their bosses who underpay them

      • I just filled up with 115.9 P98. The guy said, "woah, that's a huge discount". I said "yeah, awesome hey?". And that was it. So yes, they don't seem to care.

  • +1

Just filled up a tank of Premium 98 locked in at 115.9 from Waverley Gardens.

Saved 50 cents a litre off the current price.

(Not that I'd ever actually fill up at the top of the cycle though).

  • Holy Mackerel, prices at the usual places like Waverley Garden and Werribee have gone up to $1.50+ per litre. I also checked Karingal butprice is also $ 1.40/l.

My shitty Toyota Echo, Asia Carrera, has gotten used to with drinking the good stuff (P98) and when I fill her up with P91, she sputters and makes strange noises.

Any info on cheap P98 so I could satisfy her needs?

    • Use the link to the amazing script by Nuggets. http://bit.do/8-twelve

If someone sees something that's not covered by the script they will usually post on here.

  • Hi all, I installed 7-11 app and FakeGPS in my Android. But when I tried to find the local price in the 7-11 app, it does not allow me. It says "Mock Location Error. It appears your device has mock locations enabled. Please disable mock locations to proceed."

Any trick to get pass this restriction?

  • With the new version u have to try it a few times, I've found what works for me is after you spoof your location open up the 7 eleven app, then close it along with the fake gps app, turn off "select mock location app" in developer options then quickly get back into the 7 eleven app and get it to lock on to your new location

    • thx will try

  • I cannot use the older version now no matter how hard I try. It pops up a message and I can only exit the app or open the Google store. Anyone else?

    • +1

Why not update? Still works with new app

  • n00b here.. Once you lock in the price, you top up your credit balance in your 7-11 account/app, right?
What happen after that? Do you simply fill up at 7-11 and then show the shop assistant the generated barcode(?), which it will then deduct the amount from the credit balance in your 7-11 account at that time?

    • +1

Step 1 get them to scan price lock barcode
Step 2 either pay with cash/card or pay with 7/11 balance on the app. Paying with cash/card means you don't have to top up again for the next lock.

      • thanks. But if you pay by cash/card, you leave your money in 7-11 account as if like a deposit then, because they will only allow you lock in the price up to the amount you have in the balance, correct?

If that's the case, isn't better to top up in need basis rather than leaving money in the account doing 'nothing'?

        • I'm not sure if its the case anymore, but it used to give an error when you tried to top up your account more than once a day or something along those lines…so if it was a really cheap price and you wanna lock in again, I remember it would reject every card i put in. not sure if that "error" is still happening these days though.

        • To top up via the app you can only use mastercard or visa. In store you can pay with cash or Amex etc. It really depends on your circumstances.

  • Read through the post, got 1.0.6 but tested all the versions will show 'exit/upgrade to new version', I've disabled auto update in play store but still I'm not able to use old version of 7 eleven app.
    Any ideas?

    • the older versions of the app dont work anymore, you need to update. But the gps locking instructions and process remain the same even for the latest version of the app.

  • With the new version it does not work using gps joystick etc. No matter how hard I try. Maybe some phones work differently.

    • -11

      "Maybe some phones work differently."

Wrong, I know exactly what you are doing wrong.

It's up to Pete now, who has verified the method as working.

        • -7

The favour is simple all you have to do is reply "Yes" to this comment.

The method will than be posted in this thread.

Please know this will be the last deal offered for this method.

Furthermore, the deal is only valid if Bullion78 replies with a "Yes" to this comment.

        • @Atazoth616: IF everyone on this community start looking for favor, there won't be OZBARGAIN at all.

        • -6

          @pyramid:

The favour is to comment yes.

It's not like I'm asking for anything huge.

        • +1

@Atazoth616: whats point of asking random people on internet to write "Yes". "Yes" vote is already decided last week…

        • -4

          @pyramid:

If there is nothing to worry about
          Bullion78 should comment "Yes".

        • -1

          @Atazoth616:

Favour has been amended Bullion78 just needs to post "@Atazoth616 yes".

    • You could try this method of faking your location on iOS without a JB.

    • Just PM me your details

      • All good. Thanks guys! I'll just wait till I can JB again or find a spare Android phone someone has.

Pity the 7-11 app isn't compatible with an iPhone 5.

  • Just thought I'd post this here to assist a few people.

If you're quick, you can use the 7/11 app with Mock Locations enabled. May take a few attempts (working up to Android 8.1.0).

There's a bunch of other ways, but you have to hide root access, and mock locations settings from the 7eleven app. If you're rooted and don't want to modify your system, you can use the Xposed framework.

  • Is anyone running this on a PC android emulator or app emulator with faked gps success?

Please pm with any info. :)

    • Should work fine. Try Genymotion.

    • +4

A bit late, but i recently started doing this and wanted to see if anyone has mentioned the use of emulators.

If you use nox emulator on PC, there's a tab on the side which is inbuilt into the emulator and allows you to set the location. Which completely eliminates the need of a dedicated app to spoof your location. I've done it a few times and have had no issues so far.

  • Im having issue with 'locking' the price, I am using fake gps, it works and chooses the station but when i enter the amount in liters and press on lock it just returns me to the main page.

Anyone know why or how to fix?

    • weird, haven't had that issue on my phone
have u tried deleting and re-installing the program?

      • Yea, restarted my phone and re-installed 7/11 app, still same problem.

        • Do you get the same problem when you try to lock a price normally (without using the GPs locking)?

It happens when you have selected fuel from (spoof) location A and by the time you press lock in for X amount of fuel the GPS has returned you to (real) location B, this makes the app block you from lockinf in for a unspecific anount of time (i just use it the next day).

  • Noob question everyone, is there an option to fill in by litres? I just locked in 30litres worth of fuel but don't want to turn up at 711 not knowing how to do it..sorry.

    • +2

watch the pump while you fill up

      • oh,,is that the only way to do it? i thought you can preset it or is that for a $ amount only?

        • if you want to preset you need to work it out.

check the price on the board, multiply that by 30 and set that as the preset amount.

Show your voucher when paying and you get the discounted figure for your 30 litres

        • @steff: what happens if i go over 30 litres? will ijust pay the difference on the normal price on their board?

        • +1

@angelkulit025: Yep. The voucher applies only to the volume you set when you locked in. Anything more gets charged at the price of that servo at the time.

        • @steff: what about unused credit? for example, your tank is already full but you haven't reached the locked in litres on the voucher?

        • @angelkulit025: Doesn't matter. You only pay for the litres used.

        • @steff: so the voucher is re-usable until all credit is exhausted?

        • @angelkulit025: No, voucher is one time use.

        • @pyramid: which voucher and where is it? sorry guys using this for the first time

        • +1

@coolhead: the app generates a voucher when you lock in

        • -1

@steff: Ahh ok.. and is there a way to find the prices in another location. Like I am at work now but want to look up the prices in my home area.
But its simply picking my location and giving me prices. not allowing me to move the map

        • +5

@coolhead: that's literally what this thread is about. read it

        • @steff: yeap.. alright.. Ta

        • @pyramid: so it doesn't make sense, Steff said you only pay for the litres used but you said voucher is one time use. So what will happen if you don't use the entire litres allocated on the voucher?

        • +1

@angelkulit025: The voucher is forfeited. If you're using the 7-Eleven Digital Gift Card to pay for your fuel then there will be a balance left over to use next time.

        • +1

@sween64: Got ya! so that what Steff means. Thanks!

        • @angelkulit025: there are two things.
Voucher (when you lockup for fuel, it generates voucher like discount which can be used once only)
Credit amount (when you topup and have actual balance in the app. It does not expire nor forfeited ).

After filling up and using the one time voucher, you can either pay for the fuel using your app credit amount or using a bank card or cash.

        • @Oz Bargain 3: hey mate- thank. I used it for the first time yesterday and that might explain why i have 2 transactions on my card.. a $60 giftcard and a $40 which i paid for fuel..
now since i paid for the fuel from my credit card does that mean I have pre-paid 7/11 $60 and now i have to use them whenever i get a chance? or do i get them back after a few days/ a week which is the lock in period..

        • @coolhead: you should've used the $60 you have loaded to your 7 11 card. Anyway, it will be sitting there for next time you fill in or buy something from the store.

        • @angelkulit025: ok cool.. thanks..

        • @coolhead:I've got $70 loaded on the app so I can always price lock in about 60 litres, but i always pay with my credit card so i don't have to keep topping up the funds on the app.

        • +2

@T1:that's one good trick to do it. Saves time topping up and you can quickly lock in the price.. Thanks, I'll do that as well.

        • +3

@coolhead: no worries mate. Best to leave balance in your 7 Eleven app as it would make much easier for locking price next time. I have never use my app credit and always pay by card or cash; less hassle for topping up/locking next time.

        • +1

@Oz Bargain 3: Remember to use it at least once every 12 months or you will lose it.

        • @Rod71: oh,,is that so, so they treat their app credit like normal gift cards which expires very 12 months.

        • @Rod71:
          Is this documented somewhere?

        • @tarken: in the t's and c's I believe

        • @tarken:

          Read https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/288802?page=6#comment-5100…

          Expiry is 24 months.
You can do a split payment to pay 1c with the reloadable gift card while paying for fuel to reset the expiry for another 24 months.

  • Is it me only or new updated app we can't mock location?

    • Still working Google pixel. Had to completely exit fake GPS tho

  • According to Nugget's script, Truganina was at 118.0 for P98, 112.0 for P95 and 100.0 for U91. E10 was 122.5. However please note this was either very short lived or inaccurate.

As Nugget's script relies on feedback from users in Vic/Qld/ACT, it's either an error or someone is messing with us! Lol.

    • Wonder if it would be valid if someone locked in fuels at that price. Or will it cause an error.

      • +1

If you lock it in, it will be honoured. In most cases if there's an error in the script, you wont be able to lock in for that price

      • +2

I check his script more often than I'd care to admit, and I jumped on those prices as soon as I saw it. However it wasn't available to lock in at those prices.

The cheapest I have had was P98 at 115.9. Locked in fine, no issues. If there's a price error in the app they seem to honour it.

      • +1

they definitely honour the price errors, some do ask where you locked it in but they dont stop you using it and you are not under any obligation to say anyway, usually i just say i was interstate recently.

  • Anyone getting the velocity rule breach error? Been getting that quite often lately.

    • Never seen that, what is it? What phone you using?

      • Ipod touch jailbroken for spoofing.

    • ???care to elaborate more on how you come up with that problem?

      • I only get that error when I try to load the account up more than once in a day.

        • ok i see, probs better to do what @T1: T1 is doing for you not to encounter that problem anymore.

        • Reallt? That could explain it I guess

        • @angelkulit025: Yeah was considering about this as well, I might just do that. It gets annoying especially when you can't lock in a 95 for 104.1! :)

    • You can only deposit a maximum of $80 a day from 1 credit card. If you try another card the error should go away.

  • +1

I filled up my 2 cars saved AUD 48 😂 thanks a lot

  • So is the procedure to lock in the price on the app and pay for it then? What do I do when I actually get to the fuel depot? Do I use a code or what?

    • +2

Kinda. Here is what new users have to do:

      1) Register for account in the app.
      2) Add credit card and put some money into your account. Put enough to cover what a normal tank would cost for you. E.g. $60, and your card would be charged $60.
      3) Lock in your price and fuel type and amount E.g. 60L of E10 at 100.0 cents. Money is not deducted at this stage. Note you can only secure as much fuel as your account balance allows, so using the above pricing, you would need more money in the account if you needed more than 60L of fuel. Your app will now give you a voucher (barcode)
      4) Go to any 7/11 with your chosen fuel type and fill up.
      5) At the register, quote your pump as usual and present the barcode. Attendant scans it and gives you the price you locked in. If you fill up more than you locked in, any excess fuel is charged at normal pump price. Using above example, if you fill up 65L, the 60L is discounted.
      6) Choose to pay with your own card or use your 7/11 account balance. Using your account balance will mean you need to top up every time you will up so I prefer to just leave the balance in the account and just pay with my own card.

      • Thanks mate, that is super helpful. So say I am not too sure how much fuel I need, can I select 60L, fill up my tank in person to full, then pay for what I used at the register (Which may be 40L)?

        • Yep, safer to secure more fuel than you expect to need so you never pay pump prices. You only pay for what you fill whether you use your account balance or card/cash.

Note that vouchers are one use only with a one week expiry and you can only lock in prices twice a day if I remember correctly.

        • +1

@IceCreamBandit: Thanks :) After the crazy prices lately it's a no-brainer to check this out.

Found it pretty funny to find this on /r/brisbane.

    • Out of curiousity, how are you getting the prices for each fuel station? Are you using the 7-Eleven fuel app API or relying on third-party services?

  • Anyone here with a note 8 that can help me get this to work? The app just keeps saying I have mock locations on

    • You just have to turn off developer mode. And if it still doesn't work. Close fake GPS as well then go back to 711 app.. Thats how I do it.. It also depends on the phone.. Its a hit and miss but once you get it, it will be good for next time.

      • Sorry to be annoying but us there a certain order I should do it. Ie open app then open fake gps then turn off developer options?

        • +2

Here are the steps (assuming you've checked 8-Twelve and know where you're setting your GPS)

          1) Open Fake GPS
          2) Search for location, once found, press the play button.
          3) Open Phone settings
          4) Swipe to bottom, open Developer options
          5) Turn off developer options
          6) Close settings
          7) Open notification bar, tap on the arrow for Fake GPS
          8) Tap 'Pause'
          9) Close Fake GPS
          10) Open 7/11 app
          11) Search for fuel and you're done.

Note: Steps 6-11 need to be done fairly quickly to avoid the GPS being reset back to you actual location.

        • Another tip I can give from a non-rooted Note 8 POV. I often get the 7/11 Mock Notification notice so the what I do is continuously close and open the 7/11 app until it finds my fake location. Sometimes it takes 3 times, other times 7. Probably could be faster if I disabled high accuracy tracking but meh I don't mind doing a bit of tedious work for a good deal. I did the Destiny 2 Winding Cove faction farm on 3 chars so grinding is no issue lol

        • Works with Nokia 5.

        • +2

          @IceCreamBandit
          :
          Absolute legend this worked!

      • for top end phones like the later Note and S series, your only choice is probably to root it and forget Samsung pay for good because the gps is very quick. I just bought a cheap android with less responsive gps for the job.

        • I don't have any issues with my wife's s8 (non rooted).

        • +1

          @tarken:

did you follow the procedure like :

          1) Open Fake GPS
          2) Search for location, once found, press the play button.
          3) Open Phone settings
          4) Swipe to bottom, open Developer options
          5) Turn off developer options
          6) Close settings
          7) Open notification bar, tap on the arrow for Fake GPS
          8) Tap 'Pause'
          9) Close Fake GPS
          10) Open 7/11 app
          11) Search for fuel and you're done.

I cannot get it work , keeps getting the mock location message

        • @AllWins:
Yeah pretty much.. If I get that message then I close the 7/11 app through recent apps and open it again and then it works.

    • Locked. Thanks.

      • Still there, just locked.

I locked in at 104 for P95 but missed the cutoff :(

        • I get 7 whole days to use mine

        • @MMM788:

Yes I do as well and had every intention of filling up however something came up the morning it expired.

Anyone finding it takes 7/11 a couple of mins to process a credit card top up now?

    • I attempt twice and it gives a too many requests code and refreshes the total i have in account straight away.

  • Does anyone why I need a Australia Driver License to top up???

    • Really? That's strange… I've never been prompted for a licence in order to top up

    • +1

I notice there's a new app update available. I haven't updated since the forced one a few weeks ago.

    • Maybe they have had high risk users disputing payments. They use TouchCorp for their processing and they have advanced fraud detection systems.

  • 98 At Pen south again 124.9 good deal as all others around the 120

  • +3

Pro tip: If you get a "Lima" error or some other top up error just buy a 7/11 gift card and transfer the money to the app. It takes 2 minutes and saves a lot of hassle. Alternatively, always use your 7/11 app to lock the same balance and pay with a credit card.

    • nice tip mate.

From memory, i believe the weekly limit on the app is $150.

    • Agreed- I'd rather they didn't have my credit card details stored in the app.

  • Merged from Premium 98 Fuel for 124.9 Cents @ 7/11 Penrith South (App)

Looks like this price has lingered for a while so I assume that it adheres to Ozbargain's fuel terms. Lock it in via the app to save the price for 7 days.

Today is also the last day for the Amex $5 cashback for $15 spent at 7/11. It only counts if you pay with a credit card rather than in the 7/11 app. (Lock in via app, scan voucher and then pay with your credit card leaving your balance on the app for the next use)

For more fuel savings see the Ozbargain 7/11 Thread.

  • Anyone can advise a cheap android that I could buy just to use the app?
I do about 900 kms a week so it would be very helpful.
    Cheers

    • Boost Luna $19 @ Woolworths until Wednesday. Runs Android 4.4. While the 7-Eleven app requires 4.1 and up.

      • The screen's not big enough to see the full petrol lock screen so cant tap the lock button. You can't scroll that page either. Does anyone know a solution to this?

        • You could adjust the dpi in developer settings or may require adb techniques. Google change dpi android.

    • You can tether your other smartphone if you need access to the internet. (or you can save a picture of the 7/11 voucher barcode and pay with credit card)

I would have recommended a $5 Aldi sim but the issue is the 7/11 app uses at least 50mb of data per month for regular users like myself and that would only last 2 months.

      • I’ve bought the phone, I couldn’t get it working as the screen resolution doesn’t allow to press the button for locking the price….
        I returned the phone btw…

        • Did you find a cheap phone that works?

    • get the alcatel A3 from this offer, it runs on android 6.0 so easier to fake gps. After $50 eftpos it's not so dear.

      • Another week if we're lucky is my guess.

        • It's still that price. I'm going to do another lock to it, it's a kicker price these days.

        • @MathNerd: Lots of stores have dropped to that price, it might be around for a couple of more days.

          Works a treat.

I have set updates to manual for the app and the tablet.

  • I read this long thread, but sorry if these newbie questions have been covered.
    Can you confirm please:-
    1. that you can go to any 7/11 although your locked in price is from another?
    2. Although you have locked in a price, you can lock in a new price within the time limits, and use the 2nd price?
    Thanks, Peck

    • +5
      1. Yes any 7/11 is fine.
      2. The first price lock lasts for 7 days, you cannot delete this or overwrite another fuel lock over this one. A work around would be to fill a jerry can with the minimum amount to get rid of the first fuel lock (e.g. if you find a lower price to lock in). Another work around is to use two accounts, so if a lower price is found you can lock in that with your second account. Requires funds in both accounts though. From memory you can only lock in prices twice per phone, per day.
      3. In case you haven't found it, Nuggets amazing script allows you to find the price best in a second, Australia wide. http://bit.do/8-twelve
      • Australia wide. http://bit.do/8-twelve

7-11 HQ fund this from the revenue split from the franchises.

        • @MathNerd: how many litres were you going to fill?

        • @MathNerd:

          You can either

          1. Make a new account
          2. Go to a 7-11 and fill up $1 of petrol. This will then use the current fuel lock, freeing it up for you to lock again.
        • @cee2o: I was going to fill 30L. At 1.2c/L differential, I'd be saving only 36c. That's fine if I'm missing out, it isn't even half a dollar 😋

      the google doc shows Goulburn

      • +5

I’m working on putting together a webpage that you can access the data from. Because the data is pulled from their servers and not human reported, it should be the most accurate.

You can’t really scrape the data easily (requires a specially constructed auth token) and if I release the method I’m using publically I would say that 7/11 Fuel developers would modify it. Sorry if this seems selfish – I just don’t want to spend another 8 or so hours picking apart the iOS binary and reverse engineering code.

        • Don't ruin it for all of us!!!!!

        • +6

@Dud: Not planning on releasing the code. Just going to essentially create another fuel price tracker, which will connect to a data store that I host with the data pulled from 7/11 once per day.

        • @no not me:

          Awesome.

          your a champion.

          everyone sshhhhhhhhhh, we know nothing.

        • +6

          @no not me:

Shit… Please be careful. It works pretty well currently as the script that Nuggets use only scrapes government servers (NSW/WA) and a third party site. We're not touching anything on 7-11, as you rightly point out, so technically they wouldn't have visibility, though they probably know about this forum.

If they see that someone is taking a scrape of all the petrol stations across the country from kit that they host, they may get pissed. Although it's really cool and rather impressive, it may cause more problems than what it's worth.

    Hi Guys,

    I have a request.

Along with naming the suburb having the lowest fuel prices, can we put the zip code with it. Like for example Strathfield 2135. It will be more easy to search on the F-GPS.

    Thank you all.
    svr

    • +8

I reject this proposal because it doesn't make the search any easier. No point of doing this as there's no added value.

      • +2

You at least know which state it is, there are so many similar suburbs.

        • State is probably good enough. I usually just say Richlands, QLD like in my initial post. (Although don't lock that in now as it's not the cheapest when I posted this)

      • +1

Wish search are you talking about, searching on 7-11 app or fake GPS app??

I am talking about searching on fake GPS.

        • Fake GPS. It doesn't make a difference, I just locked in P91 from Murrumba Down (120.7) and all I did just type in the suburb name and it found it straight away.

No postcode or state name required. I know there are several suburbs that have same name in different states, i.e Surrey Hills - it's a suburb in Sydney but also a suburb in Melbourne. In this case, if cheap price was found in Surrey Hill, whoever posted the cheap price would have the common sense to clear the confusion by adding the State's name or postcode.

I'm sorry but your suggestion sounds like a spoilt child who wanted to be spoon-fed all the time.

        • -2

          My dear,

In my experience, my fake GPS took me to USA almost everytime, hence I had this problem. How on earth would I know you were happy with it or yours was working fine.

          Live in peace man/woman.

Why keep judging people without knowing as little as abc of them.

Don't act like an aggressive loser.

God bless you. Get well soon.

        • +3

@Gorodemon: i understand that sometimes the suburb is named the same as a place outside of aus and the gps directs you there instead, i have overcome this by googling the suburb and typing australia near it which then gives me the exact location.

        • @svr:
Most of the weird sounding suburbs won't be in America. They usually have some aboriginal roots in it.
Try typing AUS or Australia at the end of your fake gps location search.

  • Geelong is showing as $1.15 for U91 but it's much more expensive than that. I suspect a bug in the code.

    • +3

      Sigh.

It's not a bug in the code. For Vic, Queensland and ACT Nuggets' script relies on a user community to insert the correct price. Therefore it's probably human error, rather than a problem with the code.

For NSW and WA, the script scrapes data from their respective government websites, because they keep a repository of all prices across petrol stations in each states.

      • Completely forgot about that. Thanks for clearing it up. My bad!

    • It's showing $1.30 for me on the app actually, where did you see $1.15 initially?

Good for you, now dropped to 128.7. Just passed by it half an hour ago. Their 91 pump is faulty and they don't have 95, therefore selling 98 at 91 price.

  • Hey all,

Just wondering if this happened to anyone else. Generated a fuel lock for a friend and screenshotted and sent it to them. Cashier at 7/11 caught it was a photo =/ the poor guy had to pay full price…

Are the staff actively looking for photo vouchers now? I usually only generate it and send a voucher for my parents:(

    • +1

yeah some guys actually pay attention and I guess they look at the time on your phone while pretending to scan it.

you can always install the app on ur parent's phone and log in as ur account.

      • +3

Or create a second account for your parents, and get them to install the app on their phone. When you want to lock a price for them, just log out of your account and login as them. It takes a few minutes to show up on their phone.

        • If you have a Samsung Galaxy, use the 'Secure Folder' feature. Stay logged in as yourself on your main account, add the 7Eleven app to your secure folder and into your parent or friends account there.

    • +1

considering these guys are paid about $8 an hour i'm very surprised anyone would go to that effort.

I'd tell them that this is the only way i'm paying - otherwise i'll be walking out. even flash the phone camera to record them not accepting your payment.

      • +4

In that scenario it's technically against the TOS of the application, so they have every right to not accept that payment.

Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

      • You can just pay in full and send the voucher screenshot to 7-11 HQ (I remember there is an option in the app) to get the diff credited as the in-app eGiftCard. I've done it once when the machine couldn't recognise my voucher for some reason. (probably their system glitch) More amicable and easier than having a heated argument.
And finally, if you just wanna revenge for their bad attitude, pay with a credit card and do a chargeback.

        • +8

The servo guys are just doing their job, I don't think it's fair to blame their "bad attitude".
We are the ones that are circumventing their app by using fake gps so lets not feel so entitled.

        • +1

          @tarken:

          Agreed.

        • Hey thanks truetypezk. Just found the info you were talking about in the FAQ section of the app. Probably too late to help my friend sadly lol.

    • Just login from their 7 eleven account and Lock the price .Then logout the lock price will show you parents 7 eleven app.

    • I'm surprised they even care. It's a photo of the discount what makes them not accept it ?
"My girlfriend locked the price in for me on her phone and sent it to me because the app isn't working on my phone anymore"
      I'm sure they wouldn't be a d*ck after that.

Bad list I need 98 at like 1.05 find plz

      • I am not aware of any 98 from 7-Eleven that is that cheap. You can cross reference with 8-Twelve. Might have better luck with a local servo (use an app like GasBuddy) or FuelWatch if it's available in your state.

      • You won't find that. TGP price is around 1.29c in the capital cities.

      • +8

Hahaha…Why stop at 1.05? Why not 50 cents? Or free? Muppet.

  • My local Woolies has jumped to $1.499 for U91.

    Clayton. VIC.

Might be worth to start locking in before they all jump.

    • Oh I'm in Clayton too lol

  • -3

Obviously there is no way I can check if the same people are involved, but I find it amusing that the overwhelming majority of the OZB community ripped into the Swiss guy for doing the right thing, but expected a reward due to his culture/upbringing (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/354557), but many are happy to take advantage of this extremely dubious loophole which is against the conditions of the app, and probably borderline illegal.

Ripping off a company is acceptable, but a fellow "human" is not I suppose? I guess everyone has their own moral compass.

I know people feel like petrol companies rip us off and it may be true, but two wrongs don't make a right.

Not that I'm an angel by any measure.

    • +4

It's against the TOS but hardly "borderline illegal".
Inmate: Hey what are you in here for?
Me: I faked my location to save on fuel.

      • -1

Wouldn't it fall under "Obtain Financial Advantage By Deception"?

        • +1

You're right. There's no denying that faking your location is against the TOS, and against what the app was intended to do. Irrespective of how people try to defend their actions, it's sometimes harder to admit facts. This includes myself.

That being said, the link you provided is a different issue. Irrespective of what that person has experienced in his culture or upbringing, it's essentially asking for a reward for being a decent human being. This is probably what most people were getting at.

With 7/11 one could argue that it means more people frequent 7/11 against woolies/coles/BP, leading to increased sales from other items in store (and app offers). Not that I'm using this as an example to justify what I am doing.

    • +4

Hardly ripping off the company when you're not even paying less than the cheapest available price. If anything, the company would be happy that you're using the app, depositing money into their account up front, and potentially buying more products in store. Its Win Win

      • That's one way to look at it ha

    • I won't go into details but if you think about it, it wouldn't be hard for them to detect you spoofing your location and stop you using fuel lock.

      • Agree, but beside the point.

  • +5

I hardly ever went to 7/11 for fuel before this….I probably wouldn't go if they somehow stopped it. Even with the lowest 7/11 price available in Australia, there are still other places which are sometimes cheaper. It's convenient that I have one a few hundred metres from where I live.

    • +1

Agree, 7-Eleven are doing OK out of this. Just think about all the millions of dollars they have from people depositing funds in the app. They would be making a decent return on this in short term money markets that only the big boys can play in. I have two accounts with $100 deposited in each. I never use it to pay for fuel, just leave it there so I can lock in fuel prices. Say they have 100,000 people using the app, and each has $100 in the app, that is $10 million that 7-Eleven have to play with. Even just putting that in a term deposit at 4% is $400,000 a year.

      • They can save more if they have loans to offset as well. They currently have 700,000 users though. I reckon this app has taken massive marketshare away from BP/Woolies so they may not even care about the losses if they can stall BP/Woolie's sale of their stations.

  • Finally getting into the price lock party but spent about an hour trying to location lock the cheapest fuel (the enterance nsw atm).
    I'm on an oppo f1s.
Downloaded fakegps free app. Locked The Enterance as location (enabled developer mode and allowed mock locations).
Opened 7/11 app, got the disable mock locations error.
Unselected allow mock locations in developer mode.
Reopen 7/11 app but continues to go back to real location rather than fake GPS location.
Tried different combinations but still same result :( although once it looked to work but now can't replicate it.
    Please help if u can.

      • Thanks I followed those steps (but using color-os) it's a little different. Tried about 20 different combinations and finally got it working, although can't recall exactly what I did to get it working lol.

The accuracy column is an excellent idea. Great work.

@Nuggets, any chance you could look at integrating that into your script?

      • +1

8-Twelve already makes a distinction between state-sourced data (W/N which is WA and NSW) and crowd-sourced data (Q/V/A which is QLD/VIC/ACT). I just added 2 crowd-sourced data sets into my script :)

        • Yes, I use Nuggets' script more than I'd care to admit. It's great. Seeing the accuracy column makes me think it would be a great addition to the script.

Not at the same time in the same account. You would need to have two different accounts. But can be achieved by either logging out and logging in to a new account.

There is probably some other way to run two separate instances of the application at the same time on the same phone. Someone mentioned previously about using a secure box or something on a Samsung to run the app separately. Probably other third party solutions too.

        • @b2dz: Run the scrape just a few times a day and it should be okay.

        • +5

@b2dz: I am considering opting with a compromise which will only verify that the best few prices (via crowdsourcing) are correct with 7-Eleven to avoid scraping all the stores.

If they employed anyone to look at logs and data they would have shut us down ages ago!

Pay for IT or pay the crap-systems tax!

        • -1

As some of our members have only just started using this technique to get the data, this wouldn't have been "shut down ages ago".

They would absolutely know about this forum, seeing as it is the top result in Google when searching for "7-11 spoof GPS".

Again, don't bite the hand that feeds you.

        • +1

          @b2dz:

Nope. If they haven't noticed people getting 35c/litre discount upon travelling from WA to NSW in 5 minutes they are choosing to pay no attention. They aren't suddenly going to analyse http access logs if they don't analyse and act on sales and discount data!

        • @factor:

You could be right, in which case we will use this process with slightly more accuracy.

You could be wrong, and they either close the loophole and we lose it altogether, or severely restrict it.

As we are scraping their servers and posting their data, (rather than government data available to us via the 8-12 script) it becomes legally complex, rather than someone changing a setting on their own smartphone.

For those of you who have trouble getting it to work on your phone or don't want to fiddle around with it, download an android emulator on PC called nox. Nox has an inbuilt function which allows you to set your location. Eliminating the need to install a dedicated spoofing apps. I've had no problems locking in with it so far.

    • Same here

    • Does the app run on nox? I tried an emulator months ago couldn't get it to install.

      • Should be fine. I didn't do anything to the emulator, i just installed it and opened the app and off i went

      • +1

Idk about the 2nd one, but I'm fairly certain I downloaded mine from the first link (big nox)

    • I tried this method (as I couldn't lock in fake GPS on my phone after about 30 goes at it) . I've selected the area as a virtual location but the 7/11 app still says it can't locate my location. Any ideas? Using bignox program that is linked below.

Ignore. Logged in again once it's installed and it's works. Cheers!

  • Anyone else having trouble locking prices? Finds the price, and I press lock but doesn't seem to actually lock in the price. Definitely haven't gone over the daily lock-in limit.

    • +1

i can't log in now. i think the system is down at the moment

      • Yup, just got a notification about their payment systems being down.

    • last night tried pay by 7/11 credit, staff got 'invalid token' error. ended paying using credit card

    • There system is down

    • I had an issue about 40 hours ago where I locked in the price, loaded up the app (with $50), fueled up, yet I couldn't use the locked price voucher, nor the app to pay (with or without the fuel lock voucher applied).

Must have been a major issue that they (7-eleven) are now aware of, as they advised me there's a fix on the way (via FB message, I messaged them about my experience).

Was not happy I had to pay out of my debit card after fuel locking then loading up the app, not to mention was embarrassing and frustrating having the funds there, yet not being able to pay with it.

  • So just so I have this right, I have to have the amount of fuel I want to lock in available in my 7-11 app? So if I leave $80 in my wallet I can lock the price in and then just pay with my card as normal?

Also I have $5.43 in my account, can I use that as a part payment for my next fillup and cover the rest with my CC?

    • +1

Whats difference between having $5.43 in account and $80 in wallet?

      • The 7-11 wallet (the app)

        • You will always need $$ in your 7-11 wallet to lock price. Hence i always pay by CC and keep money in wallet. But you can pay by wallet while filling up your car.

    • last week I had around $20 left in my app as i was trying to spend it all so i could replenish it with a new amount (i've had my credit in there for a year, didn't want it to expire).

The guy at 7-eleven told me that you can only use 1 payment method when you use the 7eleven credit - and that you can't mix it with another payment method

but then again maybe he just didn't know how to do his job…

      • what? it expires????????

        • +2

          Yes 24 months

        • Expiry Date
5.1. Expiry dates can be found on the receipt or voucher when purchasing a Gift Card or when using eGift Card to purchase products in a 7-Eleven store.
5.2. The expiry date is 24 months from the date of issue or the last time the card was used to purchase goods and/or services.

I have use my credit card to top up, as I purchased bread and milk in store.

Paid for most on the app, topped up with credit card.

      • When it first started I had all kinds of issues, as I would lock in say 30 litres, but pump 35. You should be able to pay for the locked in 30 litres with available credit and pay for the extra 5 litres at full price with your CC. But because the 7/11 drones weren't trained properly, they argued black and blue that they couldn't do it. So at least 3 times I'd call head office on the Monday morning and have a whinge, and they would credit my account with $25 as a good will gesture and tell me that next time it will be OK. It's best to not go over the locked in amount.

      • It's like frequent flyer points, you need to have an active cash transaction once every period. Make sure you top up or spend on your account once per 24 months.

  • Fairfield is 78.8 LPG . Anyone know cheap LPG?

    http://tiny.cc/11-seven

I've set up an alternative price checker. All best prices are obtained via crowdsourcing and government data and are then automatically verified with "11-Seven".

    • Cool. A good compromise. Nice script!!

    • Thanks

    • How does this differ to 8-Twelve?

      • +1

It actually double checks the price with 7-Eleven directly so any outdated/inaccurate prices are never shown.

    • +1

any chance of modifying to to be per state?
I somehow feel slightly less 'T&C breaking' if im at least locking in a price thats in the same timezone as me ;)

true, but I'd just like to make it less obvious if they ever start trying to audit this..
Going from say Sydney to Wollongon in a couple of hours.. easy
Going from somewhere in WA to Sydney in a couple of hours..slightly harder to achieve :)

        • +2

@SBOB: I once did a fuel lock for Long Jetty, NSW while I was sitting in the car parked at the pumps in Bankstown NSW. Filled up, paid for it on the app and everything. Guy didn't seem to care too much…

        • @glowstix047:

nah, they have no idea where its from (and i doubt look at the time to expire which in your case would have been like 6 days, 58 mins )

just seems that if theres a price in WA and one in NSW for the same price, locking in the one closest to me feels more 'realistic' :)

        • @SBOB:
yeah I know what you mean..

I dread being asked but never have. The attendants always seem happy and comment that I am saving money.

Looks good. Interestingly, right now mine is picking up Revesby South, which is cheaper than Quakers Hill. Not sure if that's due to the run frequency of your script? The Revesby South price has been there for at least an hour.

      • Could be a bug, I'll look into it. Thanks :)

EDIT - Fixed it, looks like I missed that area. Cheers Nuggets.

        • No wuckas, thanks for your work with the improved data! Looking great.

HHmmmmm….. just filled up with Diesel, at the $1.239 price. Price in my area is $143.9

After the price lock barcode was scanned, was told by the attendant that "my token is invalid". I laughed and asked him to try again. Luckily, it went thru.

I wonder if they are starting to crack down……

    • +3

Doubt it. Probably just a scanning or transmission error.

    • +1

I think it's more operator error. They don't hit the right screen.

    • I believe that's only the first time we lock una price

      • Mmmm strange I got another.

        • Yep I got one as well just t then. They do release free vouchers from time to time for the regular coffee

        • It's a new cycle for 7-eleven offers.

  • is their system down again? cannot login :(

it is working again after 30 minutes down time~

  • -1

Has anyone been able to screenshot the price lock and then use the screenshot after it's expired?

    • +2

I doubt that would work as the pos would verify that with their back end system.

      • Hmm well you can screenshot the barcode in the offers section and then use that barcode when the offer disappears

        • They disappear before their expiry.

        • @jdogg,
Have you succeeded in using expired barcodes in the offer section?

        • +2

@Joe888: Once past the expiry date the barcodes no longer work.

The exception is barcodes for limited offers like a free Slushi when it's hot.

You can take a screenshot of those and they will still work as long as you use them before the expiry date, even if they are not displayed because it's not hot enough.

    • Haven't but I know your conspiracy. But it won't work. I once have a voucher expired on 2pm that date, didn't check time and by 5pm the app said my code expired but the actual barcode was still available to scan and no way to get rid of it to get a new price lock. So I decided to have a go with the old code but ended up paying bowser price for that fill up.
so make sure you check expiry time of your code, to the second.

      • If you logout and login it forces a refresh

    • I've tried that about a year ago and it didn't work (as expected lol). Ended up using another account which has a valid lock voucher.
On the other hand, those offers which disappeared before expiry can still be used up to their expiry.

Prices have been so bland and steady this thread has been pushed to the next page.

    • I miss the sub $1.10 days

  • 132.3 for 98 in Werribee appears to be a mistake on Nuggets script.

    • +1

It was legit for a couple hours. I recommend using master131s script as outdated/inaccurate prices are never shown: http://tiny.cc/11-seven

  • TheOneWhoKnocks mentioned that the price has been so steady lately, it just got me thinking, would that be cheaper to fill up in Woolworths Caltex using the 5% discount E-Gift Card plus when you have those 4c fuel voucher?? So, i was doing some calculation comparison and trying to find out when i should simply fill up in Woolworths Caltex instead.

Please correct me if i was wrong in some parts.

    1.

    7-Eleven
    100

Woolworths Caltex (First bracket column with 4c fuel voucher + 5% Gift Card / second one without 4c fuel voucher but with 5% Gift Card)
    105 (95.95) (99.75)
    106 (96.90) (100.70)
    107 (97.85) (101.65)
    108 (98.80) (102.60)
    109 (99.75) (103.55)
    110 (100.70) (104.50)
    111 (101.65) (105.45)

    2.

    7-Eleven
    110

Woolworths Caltex (First bracket column with 4c fuel voucher + 5% Gift Card / second one without 4c fuel voucher but with 5% Gift Card)
    115 (105.45) (109.25)
    116 (106.40) (110.20)
    117 (107.35) (111.15)
    119 (109.25) (113.05)
    120 (110.20) (114)
    130 (119.70) (123.50)

    So, can i say
    1. If you have 4c Fuel Voucher + 5%OFF Gift Card, even when Woolworths Caltex is up to 9 cents more expensive than 7-11, it would be still cheaper in Woolworths Caltex
    2. If you have 5%OFF Gift Card, when Woolworths Caltex is up to 5 cents more expensive than 7-11, it would be still cheaper in Woolworths Caltex

    • Yeah. 4c off and 5% is about 5c off.

There's also an additional 4c off for $5 in-store spend. Milk or mobile recharge vouchers are a good option.

    • +1

Thing that 7 eleven has over woolworths is that i can lock fuel in NSW at $1.351/L (98) at the moment, whereas the cheapest Woolworths (within 10km) to me is $1.475/L - $1.36325/L after 4c and 5%. So slightly more but would mean I need to travel 2km further than 7-eleven. YMMV of course.

Of course, if spending $5 instore for another 4c, and not buying over priced stuff you wouldn't, then I can see how Woolworths could be cheaper

      • I think it's more for when your local Woolworths is at the bottom of the cycle and close to the cheapest petrol Australia wide.

        • Yes. Your calculations are correct, however they only apply to people who live close to the Woolworths stations with the cheapest petrol.

        • Yes, of course. Hence the YMMV

  • U98 134.7 @ Eltham, VIC

Note: There's two Eltham stores, this is for the one further north.

  • NSW petrol appears rising from the lowest point of the petrol price cycle (since ~midnight). Hopefully the lowest 7-11 price stays solid for a while.

The cheapest 7-11 in the country doesn't vary as much as the overall petrol price cycle, but does follow it up & down a little.

    • Are you in Sydney? There are still a lot of 7-Elevens under 119 and this doesn't suggest a rise yet. Should I lock in 117.1?

      • You won't get much better than 117.1 at the moment for U91.

        • Our local Metro has U91 for $1:14.2 from around 9pm every night at the moment.

        • @whodidthat:

I notice a number of Metros drop their price at around 9pm every day without fail (from analysis of nsw fiel price data).

Are they still open at that time? Or are they gaming the system, with cheap prices on their advertising signs overnight but not open for business?

        • @factor: they do open with the low prices (though it has now gone up to 132.7) I've been there to fill up.

        • @whodidthat:

Thanks - great to know for next time I'm in a Metro area. The Metro overnight pricing really sticks out on a pricing chart:

This is the last month for all of NSW —
          https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vS76mW4eadnL…

Almost all of those nightly lows are Metro stations. Well cheaper than 7-11 if living in the right area.

I live in a high price fuel region, so 7-11 fuel-lock from elsewhere is always cheapest for me when at home.

        • @factor: Yes, being near a Metro can be handy. However, never use one of the really old stations as there have been problems with water in the fuel tanks.

We are usually one of the cheaper areas because there are 3 petrol stations on top of each other, one around the corner and another two within a 2 minute drive.

The next cheapest area is around Westfield at Tuggerah, so postcode areas 2322 and 2259.

BTW, I still haven't figured out how to do the hack on the app!

      • I have locked in. Average NSW prices are now increasing (for over 24 hours), so no more downward pressure for 7-11.

Other states aren't yet competitive. Maybe Victoria will offer some good discount prices in a bit over a week.

One reference of use when guessing the future:
        https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/petrol-diesel-lpg/petrol-p…

        • Just locked in U91 at $1.219, might just top up half and wait out a bit!

        • +2

@Craze: best has been 117.1 for ages.

        • @Rod71: Agreed. I've filled up thrice at 117.1 and it will be a sad day indeed when that is no longer possible.

Need to repeat closing and relaunching until you get "location not found" (mock location setting is no longer detected by app, DONT RELAUNCH ANYMORE), keep pressing okay and find my best price button, your old fakegps location will appear :)
          Should take 2-3 relaunches.

It's not down, it updates less often as the source I was using for crowdsourced prices was IP banning me from frequent requests.

      • Ah ok thanks.

What's the update frequency now (if you're able/willing to share)?

        • It was 5 hours before, but I've reduced it down to 3.

    U98 @ 120.9 - Waverley Gardens VIC

    Get it while it's hot.

    • Happy time is over. Now back at 149

        • what's the best way to cancel/deactivate a voucher I locked in for U91? Rather get U98 at that price!

        • @Craze: lol why you replying to this comment?

          Your options:

          • Use it up (pump the minimum)
          • Get someone else to use it
          • Let it expire
          • Make a new account and fund a new account with enough money to lock the volume you want to lock

      • You need to get rid of it?

          @Jaso n:

          I could've used your U98 120.9 last night!

          I locked 120.9 U91 instead of U98 thinking I had locked U98.
Fueled up the tank full of U98 and when I went to scan the barcode I was told I fueled up the wrong type!!! OMFG!

  • Is anyone still getting the free coffee voucher in the app after each lock in? Mine stopped a few weeks back :(

    • It's one a month.

      • Ok, maybe, but I'm sure I used to get one after every lock in before. Maybe I was just lucky?

  • what faker apps are you guys using for android?

I cant seem to get it to work first time. Actually takes me many times of fail to get it to work.

Starting to get a message from 7-11 that says something along the lines of they are logging mock locations and your account could be suspended

    • What the. Please explain.

    • +1

Android 5 or below don't work.
It is working on my Sony Z3 Android 6.0 and Samsung S8 Android 7.1.

      • Xperia Sony Z2 Android 6.0
        Xperia Sony Z5 Android 7.1.1
Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 xl both work.

        • Could you give your step by step to get it working on the Pixel?
The method I was using no longer seems to get any results and I just keep getting the mock location warning even with mock off and FakeGps closed.

  • nice diesel price today 117.9

    • Lol that's great for you - but where?

      • Plumpton NSW

  • Wyong NSW
    E10- 116.9
    U91- 118.9
    U95- 130.9
    U98- 136.9

Seems to be the best I can find around.

    • You'll find you're missing the two invaluable links at the end of the OP.

      • Seems to be the cheapest in NSW still (in conjunction with Towradgi).
More expensive than the cheapest in Australia by 1c.

Say I fill up 50 litres = 50c. Not exactly worth my while when I can just drive to the petrol station and get this price. Regardless, if I was going to go down and fill up I think both the United and Metro around there are also cheaper so that 50c saving diminishes even further.

        • Just mentioned it because your last two comments alluded to you not knowing about those links.

        • +1

@DamonT: Well, to be fair I knew when I posted my reply - its just nice if we all go by the OP and actually say where it is.
Otherwise, what is the point of this thread if we are just using it to access one link?

  • Can anyone help me get this to work? I have iOS (not jailed broken). I installed 'Blue Stack' on my mac to emulate Andriod, but app automatically closes saying that 'my device is rooted'….

  • Looks like plumptons diesel has gone up. Not via 11-7 though

  • P98@Waverley Gardens 120.9c
