    Grey…

    • Anyone know what 4G bands it has? Not listed on eBay.

      • -6

        Does it have Android Pay?

  • +3

meh wasnt it cheaper last deal

    use code FILLUP for $872.10

    • +1

The FILLUP code is targeted, not everyone can use the code. That's why it pays to have 3 or 4 ebay accounts

  • +4

The Note8 is currently $969 on eBay, so what's the point of the coupon?

  • -4

Grey stock, bought my S8+ in the ebay sales from local seller around 2 weeks ago for less.

    • +34

Your S8+ is worth less than a Note 8 so that makes sense.

      • +7

yep, clearly blind (didn't see it was the note).

    • +2

i also bought my huawei mate 8 last year for half this price

  • +3

This is the Chinese/USA version with snapdragon soc instead of exynos. So you won't be able to flash an Australian romantic and get VoLTE or vowifi

    • +11

Australian romantics are a rare breed…

      • +11

        Haha meant rom, damn autocorrect!

      • +19

        Particularly susceptible to flashing.

        • +2

          joke of the day!

  • I'm guessing this means it's not AU stock:

    Item location: Singapore, Singapore

    • That's right. Have just realized it's grey import.

  • +1

I'm soo going to get it..well, but only if any of my fingers would reach the sensor… so, no deal.

    • +4

No problems if you are ET

      • +5

        phooone hoooome

  • Good value for people with the 10% voucher - well actually, you can use any voucher you have as ebay weirdly haven't required one for this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/333515

  • +27

Feel obliged to neg due to their previous dodgy practice. Lodged PayPal dispute no response from this store at all.
    Relevant post: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/330023
After almost two weeks waiting, all orders were cancelled due to "out of stock" while the phone is still for sale at their website at a higher price $279.

      • +1

no refund for over 2 week that is kinda bs when they have send out cancellations notices
i wouldn't compare those guys to anything locally.

      • +14

we are Ozbarganers not marketing company. we should let fellow bargainers know the dogy tactics of sellers so people would know who they are dealing with.

      • +6

Does not seem fair to do so.

Well if you'd bother to read the rules of the website you'll find Major issues with retailer is one of the 3 legitmate reasons to neg something
I'd class a $199 phone not showing up and having to lodge an eBay complaint as a major issue. Especially when the store lists it for more after claimed they had no stock.
Maybe learn to read the rules. There's a time and place to neg. This is one of them.

    • +2

Exactly same issue for me. No replies to communication, no refund as yet though I received an email last Thursday saying it was going to be done.
Can't recommend this seller one bit.

    • You members that got stung by this store you might need to report Shopmonk to OzBargain admins due their dodgy behavior. I never bought anything from them, so I don't know anything about them. From some of the comments in this post, as well as others in the link you posted here, their reputation doesn't seem that good (unless one of their reps come forward and set the record straight). Good luck to y'all.

      • +2

        thanks.

For me i'd still buy from them if they have good deals but I just want to send a clear message to the store, customers are not to be messed around.

        • +2

Except "Customers are not to be messed with" isn't really the message you're sending across when you say "I'll still buy from them if they have good deals".

The only clear message you're sending is "I'll still buy your shit even if you screw me over, but I'm going to make a bunch of noise and pretend that I wont"

        • For me i'd still buy from them if they have good deals but I just want to send a clear message to the store

And that exactly is the problem of todays society. Everyone knows they can screw us as much as they want to, it's enough to sell something a bit cheaper than the competition after and we are happy again

    • +17

We are really sorry for the delay in shipping Z3+ 16GB orders. Only reason that we haven’t refunded is that we want to make up for the delay and inconvenience by free upgrading to 32GB. Everyone who placed order during last promo will have their orders upgraded to 32GB.
32GB version will be delivered by Wednesday next week.

      • +7

Hi. Thanks for commenting here, and this is a good first step, but a lot of the members here were complaining that even their emails were ignored and you guys didn't respond to multiple emails. It might be good idea to address those concerned individuals in that other post linked above.

        • +10

We apologise for delayed/no responses. Specifically for Z3+, there was lot of uncertainty because our 16GB order was cancelled by the distributor because of an unknown issue. We didn’t want to cancel the orders just because we lose money if we upgrade to 32GB. It took us a while to get approvals for upgrading.

        • +1

          @shopmonk:

Why didn't you just communicate with your customers earlier? I think you were caught out because you were hoping to find a resolution that suited you earlier but it never panned out.

I think you realise there are many OzBargainer's that don't trust Shopmonk now.

There will be others that quickly forgive and forget until the next issue arises.

        • +1

          @shopmonk: legends

        • @shopmonk:
Apologies are a first step towards a resolution which is good.

But for those that emailed asking questions, why did you ignore them? Or what was going through your mind when you read their emails? Do you simply say "oh stuff them" or "lets bury our head in the sand"

        • @tranter:
I don't think that Shopmonk is untrustworthy, actually quite the opposite.
They are not deceitful or dishonest.

With the Sony phone offer they are supplying a higher spec version in lieu of what had been ordered. They did the same thing with a recent Xiaomi phone deal for some people, 32gb version in lieu of a 16gb. That is not dodgy, in fact it is quite the opposite.

I had a delay and lack of communication with them on a recent order also but regardless of their lack of communication they came thru with a pefect product which was superior to one purchased from banggood. Also it was delivered in 3 days!!, not 3 weeks. I would not hesitate to shop there again.

Their problem is the lack of communication with the customer..!! Order status updates & replying to customer queries just need to be sorted.

I am not sure that they have fully understood that this has pissed off a lot of people??
If they do realise this and do something about it then I would rate them as a AAA business.

        • @xywolap:
People can make their own mind up but I see it that they were forced to save face on OzBargain, while at the same time ignoring communications from their customers.

There are other things like fake eBay feedback, claiming their iPhones have worldwide Apple warranty, orders suddenly cancelled after 2 weeks with no communication in-between.

      • Thanks. For your comments, I am happy with the solution provided.

      • Thanks for the update. I also have lodged a paypal dispute, but am happy with the offer and would look forward to receiving the phone by next Wednesday.

      • +1

Atleast you should let the buyers know and not dispute it via Paypal. I hope you didnt provide this solution after looking at these neggs…

        • +2

If it looks and smells like a PR panic.. then..

  • Thanks but waiting for a 256 gig dual sim variant

  • +3

$869.10 with FILLUP to those targeted, god thats $630 cheaper than retail, proves there are huge margins in these phones

    • It's actually $872.1 with FILLUP code.

      • yep youre right, though it could be $10 and it appears this seller is a time waster due to their history

  • +16

These people are thieves. They take your money and then after 15 days cancel your order saying out of stock sell same item for more. bought this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/330023 on 15th of September. they cancel my order on 29th and I have not yet received my money back. their phone does not work and contact us is useless they never reply. I am going to open PayPal dispute now.

    • Yeah, was just reading that other post and it looks like a lot of people are in similar position. At least those on OzBargain will see your comments and will buy from them will the full knowledge of their tactics. I personally didn't buy anything from them yet, and am waiting for LG G30 deal in the near future, so good luck to those who'll deal with these folks.

      • +2

My experience with Shlomonk was pretty good. I got the qc35 for $250 and it came pretty quick in the mail.

    • +1

      • +2

in all seriousness tho most ppl who ordered properly wont see this post anyways.
should email those who bought it directly.

        • I agree. Instead running a panicked PR campaign on OzBargain to save face, communicate directly with your customers in a proper and timely manner.

It's really a bad look and doesn't inspire trust when a business operates this way. Shopmonk respond here when it suits them but not directly to their own customers who have reached out.

      • Happy for the solution and happy to wait till Wednesday if you are really sending us the phone.

      • +2

I would like the refund. You have shown yourself to be unreliable and unresponsive when an issue arises, two things I dont want from a company selling tech that costs hundreds of dollar. I dread to think of the (lack of) repsonse I'd get if my phone broke and I had to return the phone to you under warranty.

Can I send you a PM with my order number?

        • Good point!

        • One of the risks with buying high dollar items from grey market sources is the accepted lack of warranty service.

      • Shopmonk… LET THE CUSTOMER KNOW if there is a delay with their orders.. please.

  • +2

like 6 hours before the Pixel launches… lol

    • Like anyone is going to buy the non-XL pixel 2.

  • +12

I am negging for the shops apparent behaviur to OZbargain users

    • +4

Have you bought from shopmonk and experienced the issue?

        • +5

That's a weird! You never bought from them, but you're mad at them? I never bought from them either, plus, it's said that the issue is through their website and not on their eBay store. Their rep is here now and dealing with that other issue above.

        • @AussieDaddy:

Why would I deal with them when the purchase-experience is a hassle.. How much better could it possibly get from there onwards?

        • +1

@hell0: When they do have stock they supply faster than anyone and at a market leading price. Can't have it all :-)

  • +1

it seems that this company sounds more like an investment company.
selling phones to collect money, investing in share trading or similar to profit more than 20%. then inform buyer no stock, taking another 20 days to get money back to buyers……….
I am only guessing, but very tempt to buy.

    • +6

That's a very baseless accusation. Which stocks do you know of that only guarantees gains and no losses (no, truly.. because I wanna invest too!)? Assuming this company does what you say they do, what happens if they lose out on stocks that dropped in price? They need to pay it back you somehow.. even after 20 days.

  • Shopmonk use to be great when they first started their store, but from all the recent stories; it seem that the company has gone downhill fast.

  • Only one negative feedback for them this month though.. 2 more over last 6 months.

Think if you guys arent happy about their service or your order.. leave a neg feedback on ebay with them so others are more aware..

    • The dodgy phone deal wasn't through ebay, it was direct with shopmonk. I was a little wary of them, but based on their ebay feedback I thought it should be fine.
Am wondering now if they run 2 levels of customer service.

  • The bose headphones arrived promptly. Shame they are doing the dodgy on their own website so buyer does not get EBay protection, just Paypal.

    • Do the purchase through paypal and link it to your CC for best protection.

  • +1

These eBay Hourly deals are disappointing…

  • +3

Bought a S8 plus with Shopmonk from last deal. Came within 10 days and phone was sealed and in perfect condition. So would recommend them. Buy a Note 8 today. Thanks Shopmonk!

    • Dunno who negged you for a personal experience comment..

    • SR9 reported his experience with them and gets negged?? what the..

  • Is it dual sim?

    • This is what it say in the features on eBay…

Single SIM (Nano-SIM) or Hybrid Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by)

… so I am not really sure. But it expires it two minutes anyway.

      • so they select it randomly?

    • It has just changed to $1,299.

  • Someone bought two black and one gold in the last few seconds. WTH! lol

  • -5

I think you guys are stupid enough to BORROW money to those investment company and be expecting get cheap tech projects instead. People successfully bought cheap Bose QC35s which were very limited stock, does not means these shops are honest and have plenty of stock shown on Ebay. Not mention all the products they sell are grey imports. If something happens, you might have to flight to Singapore to claim the warranty. Good Luck.

    • +3

People successfully bought cheap Bose QC35s which were very limited stock

Are you referring to this deal? There were 600 units sold in 15 minutes and most (including me) received them within 2 days. No idea who you’re calling stupid, but that’s far from limited stock, and incredibly great service.

      • +2

Great thanks for you reply but Don't you think all ozbarginers are fool ?
After a quick reply on "your" fav shop and then you quickly start to fight back sounds like you know everything about the shop.
@smashed indicated once that ShopMonk made fake feedback on eBay in this post https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/306217/comments
" So now ShopMonk have added 11 fake feedback ..
        http://feedback.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&u…
They sold 11 pairs of "basic" headphones yesterday and amazingly all customers have received them and left feedback within 1 day. (the headphone image is actually Bose).
Seriously fast shipping from Singapore :D
        What a joke."

I hate dishonest shops and dishonest people.

  • +5

Bought the S8+, delivered in a week. Bought a Xiaomi tablet, delivered in 4 days.

Looks like the bad experiences with this company are mostly related to the Z3+ listing, which they have finally come to explain the issue tonight.

  • +4

Bought MacBook Air and received it within a few days. Great service here

  • +2

I order a phone (A9) from them on Monday (publ.hol.) and received it today morning at 8am :) happy so far :)

    • +1

Hi there. I got a question regarding this purchase. I'd like to PM you about it if that's OK.

  • +3

I purchased the QC35s from this deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/323631). Like most others, received this within 5 days, sealed, no issues.
I agree that their way of communicating with customers definitely needs some fixing up but overall their service seems to be pretty positive. I'm just some random internet person but I'd def support this store.

  • +4

Had bad experience with them as well as some others when we bought Xiaomi Redmi Note 4x directly from their website. Not resolved yet and they have stopped responding.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/331903

I do not recommend this seller.

  • Reading the comments now makes me worried because I bought an iPhone8 from them. Although they say shipping is mid October I'm afraid it will delay further and I won't get any response

  • +2

    DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!
Cancel my friends order after 2 weeks due to no stock! still shows $999 available on their website!
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/329371
    https://shopmonk.com.au/iphone-7-plus?color=114&storage=340

Should my friend request refund from PayPal now? or wait?

    • It is NOT available on their website. Look at the listing.. it is not possible to order it and it also says " Stock: Unavailable"

      • no, red 256gb is available, check carefully

        • so, they probably have stock of the red one.
Happened with their xioami deal also.. ran out of stock with some colours.
We ordered black which sold out and they said 1 week until new stock so told them we will take a grey one and it was delivered in a couple of days. Painless :-)

        • she ordered the red one……………………
