  • Great phone android one

your description says Nokia 8 (TA-1004) but title says Nokia 6.1

  • Still waiting for the tracking number for the same phone from the previous deal (16/5). I bought it for AU$199, but forgot to use my Citibank Plus card so got an additional ~$6 for foreign exchange fee. Silly I am!

    • You might want to get in touch with them. I waited a week and then enquires as to the whereabouts of the item only to be told there was none left. They then said we can send the blue one out to which I agreed. Three business days later still nothing so enquires again only to receive a confirmation it had just been sent out. Pretty average customer service

      • Hi Yerdem, I'm sorry you had that experience. Could you pass me your order number? I'll pass it along to the relevant departments

    • Hi Brissg, I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused. Could you poss me your order number and I'll see what I can do!

It is a good price sure, but it's not much of a frenzy deal when it's been this price for a few months now

  • -1

fyi - this wont work on telstra network and resellers on telstra.
    will work with vodafone.

    • you've tested this on Telstra yourself? Any idea if it will work on Optus? I've bought one for my dad and hes on optus….

    • +1

Fairly certain all variants of the 6.1 support all Telstra LTE bands, except for the South American version which is missing bands 1 and 8

If the version for sale is indeed the TA-1043 variant, according to this certification sheet, it supports the required bands. The 4GB/64GB in the title suggests it's the TA-1068 variant, which supports identical bands to the TA-1043 (at least with the primary SIM).

    • Any particular reason other than frequency bands?

    • -1

see gsmarena for lte band support
if 8 and 28 are not present then it wont work on telstra
i had the nokia 6.1 purchased via grey imports and had this issue.
      worked well on vodafone.

    • As @Murpha writes below the certification sheet on that website for TA-1043 says the phone has band 28. The Gsmarena website says there is a model of 6.1 which supports both bands 8 and 28.

However its best if OP clarifies whether or not the model they are selling has these Telstra bands.

What a big old load of crap that is. I have purchased several of these phones and they work fine on Telstra/Boost/Whatever. Phone has required bands to work on all Australian networks. Misinformation is not helpful man.

  • Sophia, I just ordered earlier and paid $210.49 =(((((((((((((

Still, can't be as bad as the Game of Thrones final last night.

  • TA-1043 lists on most websites as 3/32 - am I missing something ?

comments within post https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/457098 do not appear favourable :(

    • No one has mentioned they received the 3GB/32GB model instead of 4GB/64GB.

Unless there is evidence to suggest otherwise there's no reason to doubt what is advertised (4GB/64GB).

      • Doesn’t appear anyone received their orders yet to confirmed. Only recently some received shipping confirmation. Should know soon which model they are getting.

Nice! Sophia of TobyDeals, you should post deals more often, there are usually some really good deals on your store!

      Thank you!

    • Google Pixel 3A XL 4GB/64GB - White
      A$899.00

      A$854.05

This is more than on the actual google AU Store?

      • Maybe not everything is of best value, but recently I bought a Redmi 7 3/32 for 177 Shipped. The cheapest available on Ali Express / Banggood was 210!

  • I waited a week and then enquires as to the whereabouts of the item only to be told there was none left. They then said we can send the blue one out to which I agreed. Three business days later still nothing so enquired again only to receive a confirmation it had just been sent out. Pretty average customer service

    • thats worrying… I bought one last week and havent received any tracking info yet

      • Hi Bloodfart, I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused but could you pass me your order number? I'll see what I can do

        • +1

Just received shipping confirmation a couple of hours ago. Looks like whatever you did seems to have worked!

  • +1

@TobyDeals-Sophia , could you please comment on the delivery time?
People who placed their orders 2 weeks ago still haven't received any tracking information.

    • Our orders usually ship within 2-4 business days. I'm reaching out to Yerdem to see if there is anything I can do to help him!

      • +2

Are you sure? I am still waiting since the 8/5!

        • -1

Could you pass me your order number? I'll take a look into it

          • +2

            @TobyDeals-Sophia: Sent.

It still doesn't explain why I had to chase up to find out why the item was not shipped!

I gather others are also in the same situation. VERY bad business practice!

          • @TobyDeals-Sophia: Mine still says processing since the 17/05. Please look into this for me.

  • +3

    Sophia, is this a TA-1043 (3GB/32GB) or TA-1068 (4GB/64GB) model?

  • +1

If it's anything like the 6.1 plus I'd avoid it, mine has a charging issue I have to hold the charging port slightly upwards while something weighs the phone down (I brought $40 worth of cables so it's not the cables, it's the Phone)

  • +1

Just got an email saying that the order I made 2 days ago is shipped!

  • Same as everyone else, made my first order (with Toby) early last Friday morning and 5 days later it's still stuck on Processing, very ordinary first experience with them. Can't recommend at all at this point. 5 days and no updates, no contact. And now I have to chase them for updates?

Someone above suggested Toby post more deals, but honestly they should be servicing existing orders in a timely manner before generating more Sales on here - but otherwise I would agree.

Quite possibly my first Neg Vote on any deal/store. Store is not good enough and I'm not the only one experiencing poor service here.

    • I was tempted to pull the trigger but held back as seller doesn't seem to provide much communication give than they still haven't answered the correct model whether its TA-1043 (3GB/32GB) or TA-1068 (4GB/64GB). The rep replied to people regarding their orders in this post, but still stayed away from answering which model it is.

When a seller do not provide much communication, always best to stay away.

      • My order was last week, so I hadn't seen how good or bad they were from this deal. Worst case, my order is slow or gets cancelled and I will get my money back from PayPal one way or another. Was thinking of buying another device from them but will not bother now.

      • i believe it is just a typo, there is no TA-1043 3/32gb variant.

they were also selling the same phone in white

        https://www.tobydealsau.com/en_AU/product/nokia-6-2018-4gb-6…

it is correctly listed as being the TA-1068 model

hope this provides some clarity, i think its just a typo having it listed as TA-1043 - but will wait to hear from rep or people who have ordered

        • My order is leaving the warehouse and i should receive a tracking number in the next 24-48 hours

I originally ordered the TA-1068 model which they could not supply and are replacing with the TA-1034

          Item Qty Subtotal
          Gerenic Screen Protector for Nokia 6 (2018) - Clear 1 A$0.00
          Nokia 6 (2018) TA-1043 4GB/64GB Dual Sim SIM FREE/ UNLOCKED - Blue Gold (Nokia 6.1) without Handsfree 1 A$198.55

          Apparently the TA-1043 is 4GB/64GB

        • TA-1043 is designated International model but 3GB/32GB.

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_6.1

So either people will received TA-1068 4GB/64GB or TA-1043 3GB/32GB.

          • +1

@j1568: I questioned it via email and they confirmed its 4/64

Lets be happy we have paid by PAYPAL

  • There's a bit of bullshit going on with with this mob - none of the codes they send me (CART3, WELCOME10) and so on actually work. Their prices are good, but the codes are just bait.

    • +1

There's a 5% off store-wide sale running at the moment. Codes usually don't work during sales.

  • +1

Can confirm it's the 4gb version. Just received yesterday.

    • this is good to hear, what is the model number tho?

      • TA1043

        • just strange it hasnt been reported online anywhere before

        • I talked to Nokia customer support and they said the ta-1043 does not have a 4gb/64gb variant. Is it possible it's a fake?

          • @Athiel: Nokia Australia?

            • @Bloodfart: It was support chat via their website, it likely defaulted to Australia. I asked about the ta-1068 and the ta-1043. They said the 1068 was the Chinese version and they couldn't guarantee it wouldn't have issues in Australia and that the 1043 was an international version and that none of their international versions have 4gb/64gb.

              • @Athiel: well, I dunno what to tell you. the one that was sent to me is TA1043 and it has 4gb.

                • @Bloodfart: I don't dispute that, I guess I'm just wondering whether they could be good fakes. I guess for the price, if it does the job, that's all that matters.

                  • @Athiel: i doubt that there would be fakes for a $200 phone. not worth the trouble

                    • @Bloodfart: well that is true, but i mean if Nokia themselves say there is no actual model ta-1043 with 4/64gb…

i guess you can maybe check the serial number with nokia if you were curious. ive ordered one after what i said last night, i mean as long as it functions and behaves correctly im not really fussed for the price im paying

  • Ordered mine on the 17th may. Still says processing. Can someone look into this.

    @tobysdeals-sophia

Hi could you pass me your order number? I'll take a look into it

    • -1

      ….

    • Order number PM'd. Will comment back here after response.

      • Order now says "Packing". Will update here when it is sent and I get a number.

        • Order was delivered on Tuesday 4/6. Thanks

  • Order number PM'd. Will comment back here after response.

  • This deal may be expired, but they still have stock and you can still use the welcome10 code for $10 off. So $203.00. Great phone, great price. I just bought another :)

  • I'm still waiting for my delivery. Found the tracking number in emails and it turned out that my parcel is awaiting for me at some collection center since 24 May. I never received any card or call from the courier, what the hell??

  • Does this phone have dual VoLTE capability?

So I could use say one sim for data when I see the cheap sim deals and one sim for my usual phone number. Simultaneously so I can still receive calls while I use data on the other.
I couldn’t find info on this specific model whether it supports it or not, but I did see some sources saying the Nokia 6.1 does support dual VoLTE.

    Anyone know?
