Had one of this fo my own and the battery only lasts for one week with all sensors on. Do note this before buying

    According to offical website:
Mi Smart Band 4 lasts up to 20 days on a single charge according to Huami Laboratory testing: Tested using default settings, with 30 minute automatic heart rate monitoring enabled, receiving 100 notifications per day, 2 alarms per day, vibrating for 5 minutes, touching the touch button 10 times per day, and syncing with the app once per day. Actual results may differ due to to differences in environment, use and settings.

    • 30 minute automatic heart rate monitoring enabled

Yours enable for 24hours non stop?

    • +2

I have one and have all sensors on. So far 14 days in and still at 35% battery. On track for 20 days.

      • wow. thats impressive. wbloodc must have some special sensors going on lol

      • +1

Can also back up this experience with my own (sensors on , 30 min heart rate measurements). Got 21 days on first charge and still going on second but it's not worn every second of the day.

    • Continuous heart rate monitoring here and I easily cleared 2 weeks of battery life, and that's after draining the battery by trying 50 watchfaces when I first got it. Scratching my head here how it's even possible to reduce it to only 1 week

    • I got a Mi band 4 (non-NFC version) and the battery remained 33% after 16 days (with 30 minute auto heart rate monitoring enabled).

I cannot be more happy about the battery part.

  • Code is for min. spend of $120

    • works fine for me with just the watch

  • I've got the mi band 3 get roughly 10+ days but I used to have mi band 2 and that lasted 20+ days easy!

But mi band 3 has alot of notifications so that's probably where my usage goes

    • Im wearing a band 3 right this moment. Currently on 77pc after 4 full days

      • +1

Have had mine for a year now - I wear it apart from showering, and it tracks my sleep as well as 1h40 of cycling commuting to and from work, 5 days a week. I recharge it when it warns me about battery getting low, and the shortest I've seen it has been 17 days between charges.

        • My watch is at 81 % with 3 days use

  • I've had mine on for 2 weeks and it's at 50%

I do 4 workouts a week and have HR on hourly I believe.

I don't have any notifications on, because I have my phone on me at all times anyways.

    • Had it for 2 weeks, down to 39%, sms, whatsapp and phone call notifications, not sure how often HR is being read but pretty happy with it.

Any questions, ask away and I'll see if I can answer them. Using it with an iPhone.

edit: wasn't meant to be a reply to the above comment but so be it.

      • Hey mate, wondering if you can confirm if Bluetooth can be disabled and it still record/track health/heart/sleep. Not too worried about the interaction between the phone apart from Syncing the data later. THanks

        • Hmm not sure on this one. Let me have a look and get back to you. My initial reaction would be no but been proven wrong before.

          • +1

@nuts: Hmm yeah ok so unpaired the band in the MiFit app, it wanted me that the band wouldn’t work if I did, I went ahead anyway and it reverted to being useless and reset today’s progress upon repairing.

However, when I turned off Bluetooth in the iPhone settings, the band showed that it was out of Bluetooth range, continued to work and then sync’d up when I turned it back on.

So upto you how you wish to interpret this data.

I can also confirm that cycling will not work without being connected to the phone. In fact I have to unlock my phone for the cycling workout to work properly. This might be an iPhone thing though.

There is no way on the band to disable Bluetooth.

            • +1

@nuts: Cheers for the info mate. Much appreciated

  • +1

Anything that causes the mi band to vibrate will reduce battery life. I have all notifications on, 2 alarms daily and get 15 days on band 3. My friend has no alarms or notifications set and gets 25 days on band 3

  • if this is the nfc version i will buy.
btw just fyi the rrp is RMB169 (around AUD35) so yeah good price.

    • Can you use the NFC function for anything in Aus?

      • well hoping one day the firmware update will allow. my xiaomi doesnt have nfc, so good if the band has

      • I am hoping to use the NFC for Melbourne's public transport miki app.
Wondering anyone have used it and how did it go?

        • +1

Currently online Myki requires Google Pay on an Android phone with NFC.

      • +1

Nope. And I highly doubt it’ll ever be able to but who knows.

    • Is there anything similar with NFC for Google pay?

  • For me the coolest feature is custom watch faces. Either downloading them manually and uploading lr through a special app

  • Purchased. Thanks.

  • Amazfit Bip please

  • Anything newer or better than the bip watch?

  • I've had my Mi Band 4 for two weeks and note that it's absolutely horrendous at swim tracking.

My honor band 4 with swim tracking gets it spot on every time though.

    • swimming in winteR? oh.. perth.. different world

Newbie question, why is this a good deal and not this —> https://amzn.to/2OhpRWJ

    • +1

      15$ shipping

      • +1

which comes to $44.99; still cheaper than current deal. However, to answer mht, consider the delivery time differences. The ebay deal showing estimated delivery between 1-2 August; where amazon is estimating 8-23 August (I assume this means the product isn't located locally in Australia).

    • +2

Gearbite might cost a little more but are based in Australia hence fast delivery.
Also if there are any issues with purchases (faults etc) just contact them and they will look after you (speaking from experience). Good service hence have no hesitations in recommending them. Keep up the good work Gearbite :-)

    • +2

I'd been looking at purchasing all week and made a decision I wouldn't buy from a grey marketer until it got under $40AU (like the very low JoyBuy deal).

      Given that:
*Gearbite has a good reputation here on Ozbargains
*It's Global model (not really a biggie)
      *It's local stock
*It will only take around a week to get here compared to up to 41 days I think is the highest estimate I've seen out of HK/China. (I've just received my shipping notice less than 12 hours from order estimated delivery next Friday)
*I have a proper Australia Post tracking number
*It's in $AUD so no mucking around with foreign currency transactions
*If something goes wrong I can deal with someone in Oz

      Bit the bullet 😊

Sometimes there's more to a good deal than just the price (Ozbargain flame proof suit on! 😜)

      • Thanks for all the comments and input. Bought one from Gearbite! :)

  • I bought this for the wife on Amazon the other day for a few bucks less. About $45,it's about a 20 day delivery time though, so if this is faster it's worth the few extra dollars.

  • I got one from last Joybuy deal, it came with unresponsive touch screen out of the box and I've been exchanging email with JB to have it returned and refunded over the last few day.

  • I bought mine Joybuy for $AU33 posted. They no longer have this sale, but it does show a cheaper price.
I got mine yesterday, it is a pretty cool item.

  • The code is not working…

  • Anyone tried this band while swimming?

  • +1

Upvoted but I personally didn't buy it due to chinese spyware concerns. Instead I bought a garmin vivosmart 4. 5x the cost, but better app and made in Taiwan not China and more robust data privacy policies.

    • out of interest, whats the concern re the spyware?

  • Can this alert me to alarms I have set on my Android phone, even if I don't have my phone on me?

    • Alarms on the Mi Band are separate from system alarms. Once you set alarms in Mi Fit and sync to the band, the alarms will go off without the phone connected. You can enable/disable alarms on the band but you can only edit them from the phone.

Since the alarms are separated, Mi band alarms only vibrate the band, they don't ring/vibrate the phone. Likewise, setting the system alarm wont vibrate the band either unless you have a Xiaomi phone.

      • Thanks, that might still work for my situation. Are there any other bands that will sync with my phone alarms?

  • I keep on losing my mibands… so I better not buy it so I dont lose it :P

  • my mi band 4 says I only had 9 minutes of deep sleep last night. and 8 hours of light sleep.

How does it figure that? Is that because I switch sides every hour or so? Only had it for one night.

It's definitely a neat little thing.

  • Is this really a global version?
Considering the Chinese version was released not too long ago

  • Grabbed one, thanks OP

  • Had the 2. Have the 3. All very reliable. Buying. Thanks

  • Went from the 2 to the 4, big upgrade, recommend picking one up if you're keen

  • Can it track swimming?

  • Does the code work for anyone?

Edit: It doesn't work if the registration address of ebay is not from Australia. So you'll need to change it.

  • Im gonna take the PLUNGE and upgrade from the Mi2 to this.

I cant read the display on my 2 but the battery still lasts over a month. (19% right now charged 31 days ago)

  • Holding out for Bip 2 for longer battery life.

  • Waiting for it to come back at around ~$35 as per this deal

    • Same, just missed that deal and surprised nothing has come close since.

  • +1

Been on my wrist since version 2, got the 4. No complaints and loving it

  • Bought this can definitely recommend!! Better than the bloody $150+ fitbit which I bought and returned within 3 days

  • Am I missing something here ? Despite not being local stock, with GST, it's only about $20? Is it the same product in the link below ?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Band-New-Global-Original-Xiaomi-…

    • looks dodgy

  • @GammaMelb personally the much lower than normal price and the negative feedback about "authenticity" of their other products would raise alarms for me.

  • Bought one last week that’s due to arrive next week for $15 more so will buy this one and return the other. Thanks Op. updating from Mi Band 2

  • Has anyone got a non-genuine version and how do you tell it is not genuine Xiaomi ?

  • My sons bd coming up soon. Thx OP!

  • Upgrading from the 40 day long charged Xiaomi band 1s

  • Hi all, will this track calories burnt during a workout?

  • I remember it's only 160ish CNY in China, and NFC verison is like 300 something

  • Arrived….within 5 days….to Tassie.

    Very happy :)

    Thanks @dealbot

  • Still waiting for mine to ship!

I can't possibly exercise before I get it.

  • +1

So anyone noticed any notifications sent to the band have the $ symbol is replaced with ¥?
Region set to Aus, don't see any other setting for it. Maybe just a non-translated character in the character set.

    • Yepper, same here! Just noticed the other day.

      • Good not just me then, haha. Couldn't find any mention of the problem when I searched.

Submitted feedback about it in the app, shouldn't be that hard for them to sort I'm guessing.

        • (Actually, found one other reference… Maybe it'll take em longer to fix than I thought, assuming it's been reported before.)
