          • @redcreek200: The refund has been initiated. PayPal says the refund will appear from 7th. Longer if it needs to go straight back onto card.

          • @redcreek200: My refund will not be in my bank account in time for Friday's sales.

            Definitely out of pocket.

            • -1

@Dave Id: I only asked "Are you sure" re: time of refund and you neg me.

My refund will not be in my bank account in time for Friday's sales.

perhaps if you're finances are that tight you dont jump on likely price errors (and maybe rethink if you actually need a new tv)

              • @SBOB: I am in my 70s and know how to manage money.
Hence $1300 has been budgeted for and put aside for a new TV with this week targeted.
Having worked in the industry,I find this sort of mistake unforgivable.
In my day, electrical goods sold under cost resulted in any loss coming out of the salesperson's wages.
The alleged Good Guys really don't give a fig about their ex customers.

Lots of dodgy things happened In those days. Your children and grandchildren would be thankful that workers rights have improved.

ive also worked in the industry (a decade ago)…

back in 'your day'… seriously, im sure prices back then werent set via automated sales tools that updated websites, retail advertising, third party outlets like ebay and in-store pricing automatically.. even a decade ago it was nothing like the automation and price updates of today. I still remember writing price update signs/cards each morning from a print out, and they sure didnt have a website with the online sales like today.

there is zero chance this is anything like the retail of 'your day', nor did it ever come out of a sales person wage (let me know when you last sold 500+ tv's overnight for a price mistake and spent the next years repaying those losses)

            • +1

@Dave Id: What sales start on friday?

      • +1

The way that they have dealt with this is terrible

They've completely wasted our time without any care whatsoever with just a short-cut email to bury the issue

There are only 550 sales on there and they only get around 300 neg's in 6 months due to their volume of sales

Each and every one who gets cancelled should at least leave a negative feedback out of principle

      • +5

Typical ozbargain mob mentality when it comes to pricing errors. When it is obvious that it is a pricing error, you run the risk of having order not being honoured and hassle of refund.

    • +5

lol someone is really sad they didnt get their $600 75 incher

  • my order from TGG website was cancelled, nothing on my Ebay order yet but the weird thing is they gave me positive feedback on ebay for the TV order lol. Did they do that for everyone who purchased it even when they are cancelling them all.

    • Automatic feedback is an option once you commit to a sale

  • Ordered eBay 330am.. received cancellation email today 13.32

  • +5

So they don't even give vouchers for errors any more lol????

    • +1

They make so many errors, they will liquidate one day.

      • Doubt it. They are now same company as JB which will keep them afloat. Too many times this has happened to me personally

    • +4

Why should they? If you ran a business and made an honest mistake and thousands of people tried to take advantage of it, what would you do?

  • +4

Just so everyone is aware -

The cancellation email we got was for the model p8mr which is the dolby atmos version. We only ordered the p8m model. So they (profanity) that up as well.

    • True, I actually picked up the TV and it was the P8m not the p8mr, is the atmos version much better?

  • +4

Tried to contact them about the refund timeframe which is ridiculous.

Have gone through website, email, facebook, instagram and Paypal - without a response at all.

that deserves a neg in itself!

    • +1

      PayPal refunded me instantly.

  • -5

The listing is unavailable now. Was going to buy it 😂

    • +5

oh you were going to buy it after everyone here saying its sold out? thats cool, very interesting, can you grab one for us too?

  • Got an email from PayPal:

"The Good Guys has refunded $749.94 AUD from your purchase on 4 November 2019

$610.94 AUD will be refunded to your PayPal balance.

$139.00 AUD will be refunded to Cashback.

If we can't refund the money to your bank account and/or Cashback, we'll refund it to your PayPal balance instead…"

  • +3

Credit where it’s due - just got an email from PayPal saying it’s been refunded. PayPal says funds available by the 7th, but it looks like TGG have done their part on their end to refund it pretty quickly.

  • +2

No email stating apologies but I received the email that my payment was refunded so no 5-7 day wait for me. Helps that I went through PayPal

    https://imgur.com/Ap4V5w9

  • +1

    Refund was quick!

  • +2

    I demand a voucher

    • A $250 voucher? ;)

      • +8

        It's the new standard.

Anything less means outrage and negative reviews, seriously damaging a company because some pleb forgot to type a "1"

        • +2

I agree, I'm gonna contact ACCC straight away! Lets start an class action lawsuit too

  • +1

Wow! No "sorry" email just a refund via paypal! not even a Note from Seller.

Poor form TGG lol enjoy the 500+ negs

  • +1

Refund received. That was quick at least.
But poor form - I buy from eBay and they throw their Website's T&C's at me.

An intelligent way would be a mechanism that warns them if something sells at less than half the usual price and requires an extra approval step. It's not rocket science.

    • +1

Email them the website coding and algorithms that they need to implement this on their website.

Or post them up here so we can discuss.

  • got the same email as everyone else. Replied to it threatening that I would lodge a formal complaint and take it to the Ombudsman if refund is not processed today. 10 mins later I received refund via Paypal.

    • Hey mate, what email?

      • +4

Email is electronic mail. For example, yahoo, Google Mail, etc

        • Enough with your jargon mumbo-jumbo.
          What does it mean?

  • Same as some others… no email explaining anything, but received PayPal refund for the order (I had 2 as I ordered from eBay and also their site).

  • +4

    https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/27452/73913/screenshot…

Aw. Someone's unhappy they didn't get their 5 price error TV's.

    • +2

It's why you have to take feedback with a pinch of salt these days. It gets abused too much.

      • If the 5 tvs are for 5 different people and the person was paying on behalf of 4 other people you can imagine the inconvenience especially not being to refund them until at least 7th November if they already transferred the funds to you

PS I am not the person who left the feedback

        • -2

The negs shown on that site are completely misleading. I read it as 'poor customer service' not someone spitting the dummy because they didn't get a free voucher. More honest to say pricing error not honoured plus delay in refund.

          • +11

@redcreek200: My neg is legitimate. They sent me an email my click and collect was ready to be picked up. I had to get a friend to leave work early with his van only for them to not honour it even though I had evidence I can come pick it up.

So I may have a more legitimate reason to complain. They wouldn't even refund me on the spot.

  • This is cheaper than buying a mirror of a similar size!

    • Looks better, too!

  • +10

Anyone else getting an email every 10 mins from PayPal/TGG about their refunds?

I've received the same refund email 4 times now! Does that mean 4 x the amount has been refunded? lolz

  • received 5 refund emails now, and its now showing as refunded on ebay purchase.

    • +2

I thought it was just me, and that I stuffed up my email configuration when I transferred domains last weekend.
Wish I received the refund 5 times, not just the emails.

  • Still no refund or cancellation email - checked spam and all. Anyone else STILL in a similar situation?

  • +11

Party is over. See you all on the next price error event!

  • +2

The more people who complain directly to ebay the better. Technically they arent suppose to just cancel orders without contacting the buyer first.

    • Does this fall under "Misleading and deceptive conduct" as per ACL?

    • I would have thought so.
If I was selling something on eBay I may not be allowed to do that…. just reneg on the sale and refund the money

      • Agree, because it's not just on their website alone, how could they say that it happened by mistake on both the platforms ( their website and eBay as well)

        • -1

You think someone manually types these prices in?

There would be back end stock management/sales software doing the price adjustments, so an error on one would reflect on the other

It's not some guy at a computer just wanting to mess with you :/

  • Just had my money refunded :(

    • -1

I'll take it if it makes you sad…

  • +5

I love how people are surprised. The same thing happened with xbox one x. I wasn't going to be fooled by the good guys for a second time. They are scum bags

    • +1

Gotta be in it to win it!

    • Yup, didn't even bother with this deal because I know how the cheap guys are.

They won't even say sorry, just give you a refund and laugh

      • Their cancellation email does apologise though.

  • +8

I'm checking with eBay to see if they're getting a defect marked against them for each item they refunded. Looks like they've been doing refunds rather than cancelling the order which I believe is against eBay policy (https://www.ebay.com.au/help/policies/selling-policies/selli…)
    See how I go lol

    • let us know what they say mate!

    • +3

apparently 550+ defects will be marked against them. I've asked for a supervisor to give me a call on how many it will take for good guys to be punished and not be allowed to sell on ebay since it's not the first time this has happened recently. From what I can tell, anything over 5% defects will have the account banned so hopefully the number is getting close to that now.

      • +2

Excellent. Dodgy practice. Tell us how to hit them where it hurts!

      • +1

So really want gg to be removed from ebay? A lot of future ozb deals come from that site not to mention creating competition

    • +2

      Joy14:46 PM
The seller's account is now being looked further into and rest assured that we'll take an appropriate action once proven that the seller made a violation.

      Joy14:46 PM
Not being able to keep track of the availability of their products is considered as violation.

      • +1

I hope they get punished for this.

    • +6

eBay want to attract and keep big companies like this on the platform. Doubt they're going to punish them for a mistake.

  • +7

wow so much hated towards GG.
the next price error everyone will back loving GG

    • +5

I doubt that, it's the way they handle errors. Its not the first time, but it's their blasé attitude towards it that really pisses me off and I'm sure everyone else.

  • Went in store for another matter, took a sneaky check to see if they'd sell one at the error price (obviously not) but was speaking to a TV rep guy who said they forgot to put a '1' in front of the price. Asked him about black friday sales and apparently they should have some really good prices on 82 and 85 inch Samsung's come BF even compared to current decent sale prices.

    • TV rep guy who said they forgot to put a '1' in front of the price.

Fair enough, but why isn't the tv 1695 now? It's priced at 1595. I think the 'tv rep' made that story up.

  • +1

Those that have refunds where are they showing for you? I got the refund email from paypal yet no funds in there or my bank account (still shows authorised payment).

  • -6

Say they sold 1000 tv at average price of $600, what’s a nice $6m in the bank for 7 days.

Interest rate at 2% means they have made a profit of $2300 lol

    • +11

      1000 * $600 is not $6m.

      • +6

Based on the username, he may be only 4 years old so I'd give an A for effort.

        • God how did i get to 6m???? lol

    • +3

Might wanna do that maths again ..
How about for 1 day considering PayPal refunds are already happening

There is literally zero financial benefit to a company like good guys with price errors like this.

  • I think TGG are telling eBay/PayPal a few porkies regarding emailing everyone.

    Alfie15:32 PM
I know that it's a poor experience and this is something we don't want to happen.
    Alfie15:32 PM
If we're talking about the TCL TV, please know that we were advised by the good guys that they had a temporary pricing errors and that is why they cancelled all the orders.
    Alfie15:32 PM
We were also told that they sent emails directly to their buyers.
    Alfie15:32 PM
May I know if you have checked your personal email address?

Considering I didn't even get one from their own website, I'm not surprised they didn't bother contacting me via eBay either.

  • +13

lol you think ebay gives 2 $hits about people jumping on ebay chat to complain or report them? ebay wants to stay afloat themselves and are hanging by a few strings because of amazon, they would not remove anyone as big as TGG for this error who brings in multi $million purchases to the platform monthly, its funny reading the comments of butt hurt ozbargainers on how they didnt get their $556 75 inch tv and they gonna all form a group to complain and remove TGG from ebay lmao

    • -3

I couldn't care less about TGG's eBay store, but thought I'd join in on the eBay chat bandwagon to see what they said.

Mostly out of curiousity, partially to see if I got some awesome rep that would pull a rabbit out of his ass and somehow get me one still!

      • +2

lol you are highly overestimating the power of an ebay rep, the best they can do is we are sorry for the inconvenience AND we do recommend the use of some lotion for the butt which is now in a hurt state.

        • Obviously, that's why I said "pull a rabbit out of his ass"…. it was tongue in cheek.

  • +1

Paid using CC and receiver cancellation email but haven't gotten my refund yet. Anyone else in the same boat?

    • Same boat still pending. It will take a few days I think

  • +11

Jesus. You guys are destroying TGG feedback score lol.

    • +2

4 pages of neg feedback lol. It was too obvious they would not honor the orders though. Happens every time a price error comes up and people get furious.

  • I have a pending refund amount of $749.94 when only $610.94 was spent, so seemingly there's a profit of $140.

Is this their way of saying sorry?

    • You have the pending transaction in your bank account? I received the PayPal refund e-mail but nothing in my account yet

      • The pending transaction is in my PayPal account, nothing appears in my bank account.

    • Says refunded to voucher though. How does that work?

    • +3

You'll see that only $610.94 will be credited back to your payment method and the other will just go to the eBay abyss.

      • +2

I got 3 sep refunds all for $749 and $749 showed I. My acc x 3 so looks like bonus cash

        • are they pending or actual finalised payments?
