Wonder if all the negative feedback will have any influence on their eBay rating if/when all the orders are cancelled? Sitting at 95.7% currently… Let's see what happens

    • I don't feel sorry. 5-7 days for refund is a joke. They deserve negative feedback especially if They drag refunds out. I can accept price error and prompt refund.

  • 9.30am ebay order: cancelled

  • Are these cancelled emails from eBay orders or their website for pickup orders? Got the cancellation but doesn't reference eBay or Goodguys website

    • Got same email from both

  • Cancel email received, eBay

  • +3

Ordered cancelled. What a shock. I had no idea this would happen when I told my wife laughingly after midnight that I just bought a 75" tv for around $500, but not to worry as it would get cancelled anyway.

  • Nebo and Dowhatuwant managed to picked up the TV already

  • Got my cancellation email (ordered via website)

  • RIP TCL deal of the decade
Totally unsurprising (just like the Xbox deal)
Oh well! Points for trying 🙃

  • Order cancelled here too, not sure how some people managed to get theirs processed…

  • +6

The email is worded poorly, talks about terms and conditions on their website.

However, i ordered on ebay not through their website.

  • Show's over. Got cancellation email

  • +5

The annoying thing is the fact that it take 5-7 days for them to process refunds. Since it's their fault they should be finding a way to reverse these quicker. I get it was a 50/50 chance that we ever got one to start with but given it was their fault they should be working harder to refund people.

    • +1

This is the most ridiculous part, now our cash is tied up with them for 5-7 days with no compensation for their error?

      • +3

It's annoying but surely you knew that was the risk, and we all accepted that risk for the small chance that the error would be honoured. Not complaining. Fun while it lasted.

  • +1

    Oh well…fun while it lasted

  • +4

May as well bomb their ebay account with negative reviews.

  • +2

order cancellation received but at least was able to get ebay+ price guarantee from real order on Sat night.

    • Surely they wont honour a pricing error for s price guarantee?

      • it was before it all got taken down.

I already got my voucher (price difference + 5%, capped at $150)

    • +4

Both cancelled for me. Going to lay down and cry.

  • received the email about the cancellation as well. I was hoping they'll offer like a gift card or a discount voucher for the inconvenience. Tsk tsk. They're not the "Good" guys indeed. At least Bunnings provided some vouchers last time they had price error.

    • +1

You'd think any compensation would have been mentioned in this email, but there was no mention

      • correct. they pasted their T&C instead. well, not buying anything from this not so good guys for now.

Just left an eBay neg before they cancel my order. Seems like I’ve no chance anyway.

Even though I think it sucks that I need to buy a new washing machine I can at least take pleasure in not giving any of my money to TGG. And no, not just because of this incident but because it is an ongoing trend with these goons and what is worse is their attitude. They could often word their communications better, but nah, screw that.

    • +1

I have had consistently bad experiences with online orders from them. More bad then good.

  • +12

Don't even bother bombing them just report it to ebay.

This is the response I got.

"I will report this to our accounts team so they can notify the seller.

    Enrique13:48 PM

As per our site policy, once the buyer paid for the item, transactions should proceed.

    Enrique13:48 PM

Please give me a moment to document this report."

Should be interesting to see if they are bound by the same rules as most normal sellers …

    • Great! I'll do the same :)

    • Agree. We can't cancel.
      Poor goodwill by good guys.
      Bad will!

    • I'm assuming you guys received the cancellation email prior to contacting eBay?

I haven't received a cancellation email as of yet, but I'm in WA so not sure if they're still catching up here.

      • +1

Same here from WA no email yet, ordered for delivery

        • Weird eh? I'm guessing you've ordered to be delivered from the same Bunbury shop too?

I was relatively early on the deal and that was the only place with stock in WA so I'd say they're getting absolutely smashed.

The thoughts of hopping in the car and speeding down at the crack of the dawn to try pick it up this morning crossed my mind… lol.

          • +1

@Deviner: Yeah, same here it is only in Bunbury for pickup that's why I just paid the delivery.

    • Agree hit their ebay hard is the best response

  • +2

Their email with cancellation said "75P8MR" but the product we purchased was "75P8M"

    These are 2 different models!

    • What's the difference between them?

      • +1

        The 'R'

  • +2

This guys having a regular "price error" a5 the beginning of each month and boosting their turnover and keep claiming a price error. They never cancel a order or give refund for jacked because price. Give them a negative review as they are #NOTsoGoodGuys #AVOIDtheGG

  • Anyone not received a cancellation email? I ordered delivery through eBay and nothing received yet..

    • I ordered through ebay. Also have not yet.
Pretty… Says good guys midland… They may be slower and time difference?

      • No way, Midland had stock? I could only order from Bunbury! :(
        (Assuming you're talking WA).

        • Same here, I tried CC but its only in Bunbury.

        • Mine is delivery.but in the email from ebay i guess it's based on being transported by midland good guys.. Still waiting for the cancellation email… Im guessing some time around 2pm…

    • yeah no cancellation email yet

      • Check filters on email. Mine was in promotions.

  • +11

I think the real losers are our employers, as most of us had spent the entire morning on here.

    • +4

My colleagues were even more caught up in the ‘awaiting cancellation email’ suspense than me.

      • and the cup tomorrow ….

  • +6

You all sound surprised that they cancelled.. I mean comeon, they were never going to honour a 75" TV at that price.. Not in 2019…

    • +3

Wait for the negative votes for people who took a chance on an obvious price error.

I took a chance, if it doesn’t go through. That’s ok

    • +1

      I actually did get a TV though…

      • Lucky You Mate, I got pick up email, and few hrs later got cancellation email.

        • I didn't wait hours after the email. I went and picked it up as soon as i got the pick up email because figured that would happen otherwise.

  • Poor form. Had my order canceled. Twice in a row now the won't honor anything and places us out of pocket for 1-2 weeks. Pricing error my brown tunnel. How can they advertised two identical prices across two different platforms and claim it was a mistake? They even updated the quantity on ebay this morning. They're just using these deals it as a cash grab.

    • I am quite confident that their systems synchronise prices across platforms. As for updating quantity, I expect it automatically allocates stock to their eBay site in batches, and deducts from their internal stock count when it does so, to avoid selling the same stock in 2 places. The batch size must be reasonably small to avoid either running dry, which means it has to frequently automatically top up. This is my guess.

      • +1

A few months ago I ordered 2 GoPro's. There were over 1250 advertised in stock after chatting with eBay customer service to confirm what their advertised stock levels were. I had a cancelation notice saying they were out of stock but my brother ordered after me and received his orders after the sales ended. I am pretty sure that's illegal to advertise incorrect stock levels as it falls under intent to not supply/false advertising. Why advertise 1250 units when they didn't even have 3? How come they supplied my brother with 3 units at a higher price yet cancel mine? They are extremely suspicious.

        • +1

Yes it comes under trade practices act.
          Two sections.
          Misleading and deceptive conduct.

The other is Bait and switch advertising (more common instore)

  • While eBay encourages sellers to honour their transactions on eBay, we cannot force them to do so as eBay is a marketplace that facilitates the transaction on our platform between the buyer and seller.
    Ronna Mae Amor11:07 AM
However, you have the option to file an Item not Receive case so that the seller will be alarmed that they have to honour and post the item.
    Ronna Mae Amor11:08 AM
Otherwise, it will be taken against them and the case will greatly affect their selling performance.

  • +4

Plenty of negs on ebay now. Positive feedback has dropped from 95.7 to 95.6

    • +2

      Make it worse

  • +1

Negging these pricks (TGG, not the OP) because they've had too many major "pricing errors".

  • Received a pricing error email. No gift cards though.

  • Received a pricing error email. No gift cards though. Bad luck

    My chat with Ebay.

    Kristy Mae11:07 AM
    Thanks for the details.

    Kristy Mae11:09 AM
Upon thorough review, I cannot see any cancellation dispute the seller has opened.

    Kristy Mae11:09 AM
If refund will be processed then they will have to manually do it.

    obfuscated 11:10 AM
So what about compensation for the wall mount ? Can they simply cancel the order like that ?

    Kristy Mae11:10 AM
As you've known transactions in the site are binding contracts.

    Kristy Mae11:11 AM
At the same time, when cancellations like this happens there should be a mutual agreement between both parties.

    Kristy Mae11:12 AM
I know you're not happy with how this transaction ended, I suggest to please get in touch with the seller regarding the requested compensation.

    obfuscated 11:12 AM
If they don't agree, then what should I do ? What are my rights ?

    Kristy Mae11:13 AM
Right now, the seller has not opened any cancellation request yet.

    Kristy Mae11:14 AM
I suggest to please keep an open communication with the seller. Let them know your thoughts and how you feel towards the transaction.

    • Its a binding contract?… then how can the seller cancel leaving buyers out of pocket for 5 to 7 days?

Poor choice of words for the circumstances.

      • Yes its a binding contract. I don't think they can simply cancel the order without us agreeing to it. In the email, they took an abstract from Goodguys T&C. But I didn't buy it from Goodguys so they need to obey Ebay T&C.

Thank you for your recent online order for the TCL 75" QUHD Android TV (75P8MR). We have identified a temporary pricing error on our website for the TCL 75" 75P8MR TV. This has since been rectified, however, the incorrect price has been applied to your purchase.

Terms and Conditions from our website

TBG reserves the right to cancel, at any time before delivery and for whatever reason, an Order that it has previously accepted. TBG may do this for example, but without limitation, where: (c) Goods ordered were subject to an error on the Website, for example, in relation to a description, price or image, which was not discovered prior to the Order being accepted.

Please allow 5-7 business days for a full refund to be processed.

We apologise for any convenience this may have caused.

  • +7

best neg comment I lol'ed hard

  • -3

I can't understand people's disappointment when it was clearly a pricing error. TGG have acted well within their t&c… pointless and futile sledging… My 2 cents…

    • Because they do it often and continue to do so. I remember buying a 50" TV for $300… That wasn't a pricing error, how am I to know what is and isn't? It's not like it was advertised at $50. The most unbelievable part of the pricing was that they were going to send a 75" TV to QLD from WA for only $85 :-)

I'm sure there are others expecting to receive their goods that don't know about OzBargain too… who are now out of pocket until a refund occurs.

  • Bought on ebay last night, cancelled today. Chatted with ebay, no help there at all.
Time to lower their rating a little more. :)

  • What's TCL preciouss??

  • Come on Bunnings… Start selling TVs and other electronics so you can get all our business!

  • my ebay order was canceled this morning.

  • Got cancellation email. If I had chosen Pickup instead should of been fine. But transporting a 75 inch is a tough task

    • Bought from TGG website for pickup, got cancelled too.

      • Same here

  • +4

Not surprised about the outcome. But only cancellation and refund after 5-7 working days will keep us away from TGG now.

  • Can't we do anything about it as they have honoured some of the orders and refused to honour others. We have proofs as well. It's not fair to honour some orders and cancel others.

    • +2

This tends to be how it goes.

If there were some legislation into "if you honour some, you have to honour them all", then companies would obviously side with not honouring any order which is obviously worse for us as customers who may be hoping we may be one of the lucky ones (like the select few people who actually got their Bunnings drone).

Besides, I think the people that collected their TV's already got them because the staff weren't clued up on current events, rather than TGG actually honouring the order.

    • +1

      It’s a fair question….. for the ombudsman.

  • +12

Neg their eBay account into oblivion especially if they drag the refunds to 5-7 days as per their emails and no compensation gift cards. Dont forget to leave 1 stars for all the Detailed Seller Ratings.

Lead up into Christmas they can deal with the ramifications

I got an email saying one or my tv's were ready for pickup. Went there with a friend with a van who graciously agreed to leave work early as a favour and they refused to release the goods so I wasted even more time dealing with them this arvo

    • +1

      Don't forget their Google reviews.

    • +3

I understand your frustration, but you are not being reasonable. Their T&Cs state pricing errors don't have to be honoured. Ok to try for such a deal, but you can't declare war on them when it doesn't work out.

      • +3

They relisted the item with incorrect price twice on eBay. Fair enough one time but twice and then they don't promptly refund. 5-7 days is absurd. No courtesy email explaining with it was refunded. I don't think we are being unreasonable

        • -5

You are still going overboard with your 'neg them to oblivion' comment. And are you sure on the 5-7 day delay on refund ? Some have stated they already have been refunded.
