Was about to purchase an iPad 7th Gen but after searching and seeing ONSALE deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/532381

Went into Optus store yesterday and purchased a new iPad Air 3 Celluar outright without any issues at all. Only Gold & Silver seem to be available

  • Thanks OP, store I purchased from weren’t allowed to sell outright. Purchased the 64gb on plan, immediately cancelled, charged an extra 50 cents. Cancellations was interesting though, so you purchased today and you want to cancel today.

    Ordered 256GB last Thursday online, received yesterday and cancelled without issues. Local stores out of stock for 256GB but apparently plenty in Sydney CBD.

    • Which Sydney CBD store? I asked the George St store (next to Apple store) and they didn't have any.

      • I called last week and the George St store said they had plenty. Must've have been OZB'ed or the guy was telling a furphy.

  • Is this locked to Optus network or you are free to use any sim?

  • They sent me the iPad and a normal Mobile Broadband SIM. No new service appears in my account. So how do I cancel it, everyone?

      • No fate in them. I prefer to cancel via My Account. I read some people here have done that and it even showed them the amount outstanding. But I can't see the new service!

        • Don’t think you can do it online, have to call. No trouble to cancel it.

  • I got an SMS from them stating they had no more stock.
    Picked one up in store and done in 15 minutes:)

    my local store kept saying they don’t make money and become negative profit. apparently they only make money if customer stays for 3 months. however they included a griffin survivor case. So I guess it is a good deal.
