  • Which phone is this?

  • Can we add on international pack with it for extra $10 ?

    • Similar question - can I switch to the $75 mobile broadband pack?

    • @sonny08
Yes you chat with Telstra and get it added.

      • Thanks, as it says in plan details that you need to pay for international call rates for calling. Doesn't mention about adding on the $10 pack.
Has anyone successfully done that ?

        • Before you make international calls make sure to add the pack, otherwise they will charge you at the standard rate. You have to chat and ask to add the International call pack, they will do it straighaway.I currently have the same.

JB Hi-fi phone deals not allowed from L-platers from the last two deals

    • What is the definition of a L plater

    • Whys that? What happened with jb phone deals in particular?

      People posting unobtainable deals?

    • why L plater not allowed if it's legit

      • +7

Store reps are banned from posting. L-platers could be new accounts created by JB employees to try to get around it.

        • oh. store reps banned too? wth

    • And how do they know they are anyway? and frankly, who cares

      • +4

Pretty sure you would care if OzBargain turns in OzSpam.

        • +1

          It already is

          • @scuderiarmani: You just have to look at the aldi ads posted every week. Without discounted items.

  • So does anyone know if after 12 months the bonuses remain or do they do an Optus and revert you to the original non-discount plan/offer after it ends?

    • Reverts back to 69 and 60gb. That's the only con here and made me not to join yet.

      • +2

By then there probably be better deals, perhaps $800 GC with $40/month! who knows!

        • Yup true. That's good hope.

    • +1

Edit: Discount is for 12 months and bonus data stays with that plan until you change plans or recontracts. Source: order form when you sign up.

    • My wife was on a 20% discount and retained her plan/offer after it ended. When did changing plans for you become a thing for Optus? She was still on it up until May this year.

    • When I confirmed my plan yesterday they said you keep the 20gb bonus until you recontract but the $10 credit is done after 12 months.

Is it back again today? I rang the other day and they said it was only $400

    • Can neggers care to explain why its not a dupe?

      • The other one has expired. This deal apparently is for just today.

      • I didn't neg but last deal had an expiry and it indeed did expire.

This deal has been brought back for one day and as such, warrants a new post. :)

        • As far as I know, if a deal becomes available within 30days, its marked available instead of posting dupes.

          Looks like I was wrong.

Other deal is exactly the same and only couple of days old.

          • @fantoo: Yes, it was available, and then it expired. Now JB have decided to run it again - that's when it can become a new post. Probably a bit cheeky on JB's part. I'm sure they knew it would generate another OzB post or something that would be good for advertising.

If the previous deal was simply reactivated I would have had no way of knowing it was back on again unless I kept checking every deal I've ever looked at to see if it was no longer "expired".

Has anyone confirmed in store? Maybe someone did in the other two deleted posts but can't see them now.

    • I did it on Sunday

      • I got this today in WA

  • Can i port from Telechoice?

  • +3

I ring to the store, the guy said only 300

  • +5

Has anyone done it successfully in Melbourne?

    • Not Melbourne but I'm in regional Victoria and signed up on Sunday.

  • Why did mod delete this? Its a good deal

    • Please see explanation in the deal description, thanks.

    Hi,
Just called store and mentioned the deal is only for 60gb not 80gb though? They were reading off their memo that they received

Edit: Just called another store and they confirmed deal is on 500gc 60gb + 20gb bonus and $10port in credit

    • +1

which store? i called 2 they both said $300

      • +1

        Eastgardens, nsw

    • Where was this?

      • i called them again, new memo sent to all stores. confirmed.

        • +1

          New memo = $500 credit for 80gb at $69/month?

      • +1

        As above post

  • +1

Your link clearly says $300 gift card for $69 plan, not $500.

    • The deals are not advertised at all, even in store. you need to ask the phone dept salesperson as they get the memo's from head office

  • Anyone can confirm this is active again? Some said down back to $300 GC only in the other posted deal?

    • I received a call back from JB yesterday (I had left a Voicemail on Monday) offering me this deal. I explained that I walked into the store on Monday and got the deal when they didn't call after 5h.
Not sure if this is only available for those who left a voicemail or for everyone though.

  • I'm confused, we already Ozbargained this deal on Monday. Phone lines were jammed for hours.

    • +1

Today is a new day. Deals come and go.

      • +1

I just found it confusing as they ended the previous deal two days early because of overwhelming interest. That was 3 days ago. I'm still waiting for Telstra to call me back.

  • +4

I can't see 500 for a 69 plan my says 300… If I'm going to call and argue for it, I'd wannA know it's legit

  • Can anyone who calls vouch for this deal being $500?

    • +1

Called my local - apparently all stores got a memo this morning. They confirmed $500GC + 20GB bonus data + $10 credit. Some stores might not have received/read the memo yet

  • If really is $500 for $59 x 12 months it would work out pretty good for me… I wonder if I can sell my unactivated Boost https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/564892

    • +1

      Of course you can sell.

  • Are there usually a time limit for these things? Or could I sign up now, get the credit and then when the new iPhone comes out - use it to purchase the phone from JB?

    • +1

You don’t need to use the gift card straight away

      • Okay awesome, so it comes in the form of a normal JB gift card?

        • +1

Yeap normal JB gift card and they don't have an expiry date (signed up on the previous deal).

          • @brotos: Confirmed no expiry on gift card. Signed up before also.

  • +5

I called my local JB and they said its only $300.

EDIT: New memo sent to stores this morning. its confirmed OP is correct

  • JB PLEASE

  • +1

Does anyone (re)posting this deal actually have proof it exists?

    • I signed up on Sunday.

      • They cancelled the deal since then, then reinstated it

    • Confirmed working, apologies for doubt

  • Anyone in Brisbane confirmed this deal?

    • +1

Just walk in JB albert st, staff said definitely $300 for ($69-$10) plan.

    • Yes, confirmed! just rang JB in Garden City

  • -5

Why are people saying it's $500? Where did that number come from? On the website it is clearly $300 for the $69/month plan.

    • +1

other day it was listed at $300 / 69$ and in store was $500 / 59$

      • Ahhh okay, maybe this is just a slightly less of a deal :/

    • Checked in store, definitely is $500. Don't know why the negs, was just asking where the $500 came from. Weird it isn't officially advertised?

  • -2

    Unobtainable deal?

  • +2

I in Vic, ordered on Monday 28 Sep morning through phone having waited for almost an hour on the line, received Telstra confirmation email Tuesday morning and sim card delivered Wednesday morning via star track. Telstra plan description was $69 at first but adjusted to $59 a few days later. Note that the first month cost seems to be pro rated for #days and calculated on $69 not $59. I haven’t received the $500 jb hifi gift card yet but the consultant confirmed $500 over the phone on Monday.

    • Confirmed $500 issued today Friday with no expiry date!

  • +3

I just called my local store (regional vic) and got confirmation on this deal. Heading there after work. Might use the voucher on the new Samsung Galaxy S20 FE

  • +3

Just finish my porting application through the phone, confirm $500 gift card ( you have to ask for it, if not only $300 offer) $69 with $10 monthly credit for 12 months. I’m locate in Melbourne

    • May I confirm if this is 12 months plan? It's free to leave Telstra after 12 months. Or the actual contract term is much longer but the first 12 months in on discount. Thanks

    • What store/number did you call?

  • How would one use this to get a pixel 5???

Sign up and use giftcard to pay for pre-order?

  • +1

Still waiting on callback from Monday!
