              • @isaac-newtown: I mean if you can get 15% off u are already saving sht load of money.

I just bought gift cards at 10% and paid 5 bucks for express delivery. Received within 2 days. Depending on the model and colour some you can’t find it stores.

          • +1

@bluepop: Just want to thank you again!
I bought GC in the early morning and bought an iPhone Pro Max (last one in my area) from JB straight away … I have a very happy hubby here.

    • so you are waiting for $50 discount on a $1200 phone…

    • Retailers generally make less than 3.5% on iPhones.

  • I hope Samsung at least matches that price on Amazon since I promised myself I'd never spend another cent at JbHifi.

    • Grey import

So not directly comparable price wise

  • Anyone has a google nest hub? Just wondering if it’s good enough to use to satisfy kid learning. Ie, if they ask to show a picture of a platypus, does google pull up the picture, or does it just pull a Wikipedia snapshot

    • +1

I just asked my Google Nest Hub Max to show me pictures of a platypus and it did.
Unsure about the Non max though…

    • +3

Nest hub owner here, kids have asked about turtles and snails and it shows pictures… Just be prepared when they start asking other questions of Google. Currently alternating between "what does a fart sound like" and "tell us a joke"…

    • I use one in my bedroom as alarm clock, you can even stream netflix on it… is very good

  • Flex 5 chromebook for $499 is very good price. Nice to see it in Australia finally, strong reviews

  • +4

    75” Q60T for $1888 and 75” Q80T for $2888 look like good value.

    • God damn I think I just got upsold to a 75" for a Q80T at that price.

Will just need the Xbox Series X to plug into it!

      • Q80T doesn't support Dolby Vision.
        Xbox supports Dolby Vision.

      • I get a discount through work on Samsung items but this just blows it out of the park. I'm also defn heading in on wed to bag a 75 q80t.

    • Can't even see the q80t in that catalogue
      Great price… Tempting

  • Z Flip or S20 FE? Upgrading from S9 and don't really need 5G.

    • +2

Z flip is waaaaay too fragile.

    • +1

S20 FE unless you really want the folding screen. Lack of water resistance and supposedly easily scratched screen probably isn't worth it.

      • +2

yup, and I think only reason to have a folding screen is for the Tablet size, which Z is not.

  • +1

No deal on the Samsung galaxy watch 3 45mm lte.

  • Any 75 Inch Tv deals if anyone aware of amcoming at the same time?

  • Gonna see if they let me return the S20 FE from the earlier Telstra deal for a second time to get it even cheaper.

  • The old Telstra deal had S20 FE 5G for $99 per month, but this deal show's same price but we only get a 4G phone. Is their any good plans with phone?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/573437

    • Was also hoping that plan deal would come back around again, maybe you can try asking in store once the sale starts? They also have that same $0 upfront plan deal with the note 10+ on the bottom of the Samsung page and they sell that for more than the S20 FE 5G.

      • Yeah they are both going to be the same price on black Friday sale, I was hoping they can just give me the s20 fe 5g instead or refund the note 10+ get the same value gift card and buy it lol. Not sure

        • That's what I'm going to try, just ask them to switch the note10+ for the FE5G. Not too fussed about the touch screen issues.

  • $374 for Lenovo Duet Chromebook!

    Good deal!

  • are these deals in-store only?

why does OP have start date/time as 24 Nov 11:00pm?

    • No. Online and over the phone as well.

      It'l start midnight Tuesday/Wednesday morning.

      • thank you!

  • If I want to price beat a phone with Officeworks but the product is only available through online, does that mean I will have to call them for placing the order?

  • +1

Samsung S20 or the Samsung FE? (assuming that the S20 will drop in price this Black Friday)

    • +1

I too would like to know the answer to this as well

    • S20+ & Ultra support the faster 26Ghz network, when its available.

  • Is the S20 FE 5G the 128GB one? I bought the 256GB one from Samsung EPP recently for $909 so still looks like that's the better option

  • +1

Great phone on paper but the actual experience was far from great. I had the 5G SD version but didn't feel like it at all

    1. Screen kept activating and dialling in my pocket
    2. Battery life was poor to the point i was actively 'managing' (or comprising) my use. Eg. No AOD, turning off Bluetooth unless required, had dark mode on 100%, turned off auto brightness and tried to keep it as low as possible, turning on airplane mode over night… Despite this still got no where near what was being reported in reviews and what is consider acceptable with limited use.
    3. Screen issue.. initially was a non issue for me however one of the updates made things worse not better for me. Screen started to stutter when scrolling quite bad from time to time. It just didn't feel buttery smooth almost felt like the CPU was being throttled. Sometimes it felt like the refresh rate was running about 30-60hz… and was getting 'stuck' in this weird stutter too

After 2 factory resets I had enough and returned it.

It's also too big/chunky imo (but that's personal preference of course)

  • Hey guys, can someone please give me a hand? I don't know much about laptops or computers for that matter…
On the 4th page of catalogue in the middle is a HP 15" Power Pavilion Gaming Laptop. My budget is around $1k and I like the bigger screen.
Can anyone tell me what model this laptop actually is so I can do some research? Or even better give me advice as to whether this is a very good deal or not. Thanks!!!

    • TIP: product SKU is located in small print below the product description. You can search this on the JB website for more details 😊

HP Pavilion EC0102AX 15.6" Full HD Gaming Laptop (256GB)

      Model: 18H45PA
      SKU: 441963

      https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/hp-pavilion-ec0102ax-15-6…

      • You're awesome. Thanks really appreciate it. I did say I was a noob. Thanks!

  • Worth upgrading from S8+ to S20 FE?… Thoughts?

    • I am also thinking of doing the same upgrade.

      More RAM?
      Better processor?
      Better camera

    • In same bot but have a look at one plus 8 pro

      • Is it possible to buy locally and how is warranty or screen replacements from third party repair if accidentally broken?

    • I would totally upgrade my S9 to the S20FE 5G, but the touchscreen issues are stopping me.

      • Same

        • Honestly, they're not even an issue. Been using my phone for weeks and I haven't encountered any of these issues.

It's either overly sensitive people reacting to every little movement on the phone or as many are saying the early versions had these issues but since have been fixed.

          • @droninglocust: It's great that it's not an issue for you, but it's clear that it's still a widespread problem and I'm not paying $1000 for a phone that has a high likelihood of not having a perfect touchscreen.

    • More current updates.
One of the issues is they usually only support updates for 2 years, based on the fact most user only have their phone for 2 years before handing over, selling, discarding etc.

  • to all looking for the review of the S20FE5G, I own this mobile currently and I can give you a review.

I am using this phone from past 3 weeks.
The phone is fairly decent. The battery is strong. The pics are great but not extremely great.
I went for the 256 Snapdragon version. Doesnt come with esim. locked via software .
Sound is amazing. Got dolby atmos. On screen finger print works but is kind of slow. You need to be in exact position for it to work.
The body is rich polucarbonate. Better than glass imho.

If any one is plannign to upgrade, i would suggest go for it. Can last for 2 years if your dont perform kungfu with it.

Any chance of getting a credit or something with JB?

I bought this phone a few weeks ago for $1149.

    • Is there a price guarantee policy?

I would suggest putting it in writing and contacting JB Head Office if its less than 2 weeks.
I would also suggest going to a store, and asking for one of the managers.

I assume JB have been given extra rebates (based on sell-through) to sell it at this price, rather than relying on Profit. I don't see an issue, if you used the credit to buy something in-store, that they can also profit on.

      • Contacted JB Hi-Fi on their website, left details of my purchase and within an hour I got a call back from the Sales Manager at the store I bought the phone from. It was only purchased 20 days ago and he was happy to give me a gift card for the price difference.

I actually paid $1116 for the phone originally, price is now at $849 = $267 gift card for me to use whenever (no expiry on the gift card).

        • Woohoo. That is a great result. I think a few other companies are 10 days or 14 days.

Sure that profit has probably shrunk, but they will pick up on what you purchase with the gift card (unless its Apple).

          • @BewareOfThe Dog: Yeah, I was blown away by the customer service and willingness to assist.

I thought I'd take a shot in the dark and see what could be done, and I would've just been satisfied to have tried and failed, but now I have $267 in the pocket and will be spending it at some point…

  • Are there any Australian S20 FE 5G users that can confirm what SOC the Samsung S20 FE 5G has and post a CPUZ screengrab or something?

A lot of sites claim the 4G is Exynos 990 yet the 5G version is Qualcomm SD865 however the spec pages on JB-HiFi, HN and every other website that will list the Exynos 990 for the 5G version too. Samsung's own website seems to go out of their way to not show the processor spec at all.

I know there's also a 256GB version, could there be chip difference between those SKUs?

I really don't want to drop $900 on an Exynos powered device that has crappy battery life.

  • +1

Tempted to get the Note10 with a $594 ETC, seems an ok deal.
Have they had the Note20 Ultra on a decent contract deal at all?

    • Good deal but it's single sim

      • I'm fine with that, don't need dual SIM

        • That's why I have 2 phones still, so I don't get confused between jobs (and can ignore car dealers).

    • I have the same question. If you find anything for the 20, mind letting us know here as well?

      Thanks!

      • I could only find the posts on here about the pricing error on the Ultra. Think the normal 20 has been $349 upfront which isn't bad really but not fantastic.

        • If the 20 ultra were anywhere near that (say, up to 600) I'd be happy with the upfront costs.

  • Pricing for some products, like the Google Nest series, appears to be live as of this morning.

  • I really wish the Note10+ was the 5G version.

  • +3

I just walked out of the Bankstown store and the rep told me that the 899 Note10+ deal is a typo. He swears blind that he has a bunch (50) of Note 10's (non plus) out the back for this occasion.

He told me to expect a price correction tomorrow.

    Bugger.

Edit: the S20 fe 5g is 849 (128gb version) right now.

    • regardless of the above post, dunno if you can trust the rep in store.

If you look up the SKU 395792 you also get the note10+ which is currently showing as 1299 which means this might be possible.

Saying that, I'm torn between the note10+ 4G and the FE 5G.

The HP laptop on the first page advertising as $1399 down to $849 is actually $788 today in store. Go figure.

I just price matched the Google Nest Hub at Bunnings for 10% off the $79, so $71.10

I see that HN has it advertised for $78, so I could have saved another 10c :-)

  • Hey guys, been looking for a new monitor. Was thinking of the 34" Xiaomi as my main display or getting another smaller monitor to have a dual set up. Anyone able to shed some light on how decent the LG 27GL63T 27" 144Hz Full HD Gaming Monitor is? I know it might be up to preference but should I stick to the Xiaomi or this LG one? TIA :)

  • I was hoping for a pixel 5 deal from JB :(

    • was waiting as well, telstra is giving for $700 something with a plan https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/583498

      • +1

Yeah I am planning to wait until Friday. If no other store has any good deals, I'll go with Telstra's and cancel the plan immediately.

        • +1

Read the T&C, prob there will be a catch

          • @luizmarin: Thanks for the reminder!

If I am going with Telstra I'll just go to the store and ask their staff what would happen if I cancel immediately. Hopefully they are nice enough to just let me buy it without the contract lol

  • Just picked up an OPPO a91 for $299

Shows up on the catalogue as $399 down from $499 but showing $299 on the website

  • Grabbed the s20 fe this morning at 830am. Complete bonus having it pop up early

Is the Canon R5 likely to be included in the 15% off cameras. Can't see it listed in the exclusions but it is showing as 'awaiting stock'?:
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/canon-eos-r5-mirrorless-camera-body-only

  • Not sure if anyone will see this but I’m divided between two TV choices:
    LG UN7300 UHD 43" Smart 4K TV with AI ThinQ - $795
    Hisense 43S8 Series 8 43" 4K UHD Smart TV [2020] - $595
I’m struggling to choose either, just those two I’m only looking at and searching up doesn’t help. Anyone have any prior experience with them?

  • Thanks! I bought my S20 FE 5G on 11/11 with the 11% discount. Went back today and they refunded the difference :)
