    Where's my Elephant?…. I mean Jerky.

    • +3

Hey, they're playing the Elephant song!

      • +1

The elephant is in the room

      • I love that song, reminds me of elephants

  • Let's shut them down, this business won't last due to covid anyway. These scammers don't deserve to operate, they bad reviews if you check properly, don't believe so many of us has fallen victims at this time.

  • +13

The current government is supporting them: https://www.bandt.com.au/government-supports-buy-aussie-now-…

I think that is where this went wrong.

To be honest it is a cluster $%^& of communication, but we still do need to support Australian businesses.

I'm not talking about 'Buy Aussie Now' who has actually hurt these companies, I'm talking about some of the great companies that use this website as leverage to get their product out there.

So if you see a bit of stuff that you like from Buy Aussie Now, then reach out directly to supplier (cut the middle man out so to speak).

Perhaps they will get the message then, pick up their game, have better communication and truly represent the 'Australian Product'.

I see here, that yes we haven't received our goods, but the true loser here is the companies that have signed up with them (not necessarily all of them).

I'm not sure who is really responsible whether it is Dr Jerky or Buy Aussie Now (perhaps shared).

So Mr OP, if you are reading all these comments take in the feedback.

It's all nice what you are trying to do: raise awareness and trying to promote Australian products, but don't be the guys that misrepresent or if it is indeed the supplier then don't let them hurt everyone else

Oh and can someone please send me my jerky - 25 days and counting.

I would have been happy to wait, just give me a heads up and we would be cool.

    • +3

LOL reading that article it seems like the main 'value add' that BAN brings is the 'Buy Aussie Now tick of approval'.

So basically they have successfully positioned themselves (with prominent Gov't backing) as the gatekeepers to the market for a bunch of small Aussie businesses, and can treat them like rubbish as in this case.

What's the bet that they thought they could use promotions like this one as 'loss leaders' (like the supermarkets with loss making products that bring customers through the door) whilst placing all the burden on the supplier? Except in this case it was too great a burden to handle.

    • +1

I love what the CEO said : 'In effect, Buy Aussie Now is an Aussie made and owned Amazon'

      Aussie Aussie Aussie

  • +2

Assuming these 3500 orders will be shipped out by tomorrow. Shouldn't the deliveries be booked with Auspost (and tracking numers generated) already by now, at least for some orders?

I reckon it's still naive to believe that all orders will be shipped out by tomorrow.

  • +10

Just got my shipping notification for my jerky, woohoo!

    Here we go boys!

  • +3

Just got tracking notification from aussie post

    • +4

      Hi there,

I have sent 3 emails requesting my order be cancelled yet i have just received tracking information.

I note you have time to reply on this forum but not to my emails.

Let me know what you would like me to do as I will not be accepting this jerky.

      • I'm the same. I sent an email requesting a refund and cancelling my order, yet just received the tracking information.

      • Myer does the same thing, once you order, you cannot refund until you receive the item even if they haven't shipped. If myer is still around, unlikely anything will happen to them..

      • +4

You sure they're not marked as associated by mistake? It's not the usual rep.

      • Unfortunately seems refunds aren't accepted as per the t&cs because it's considered a "perishable" item. They can only replace it if you don' like it.

  • +2

Just got mine as well. Put the beers in the fridge!

  • +2

    Same

  • +2

Same here just got tracking…. This better be some good jerky

  • +3

ditto… i'll just assume it arrives next week some time and we'll call this a day… 1000+ comments

  • +2

Got my shipping notification. I don't believe it. It's being prepared, no ETA.

  • +6

Also got my tracking. Hopefully they didn't just print out the shipping label to meet the end of week deadline. Either way, I'm damn excited for the jerky, hope it's worth it!!

  • +1

Keen, hope it's worth the wait.

  • +1

    HELL YEAH!

Some lockdown jerky would really lift the mood.

  • +1

Just got my tracking as well, had zero email or anything so lets see how it goes

  • +1

holy shit i just got a tracking number from AusPost with "it's being prepared" status.

  • +1

    Tracking email got!

  • +3

Calm down everyone, only the labels have been created. Ill believe it once it gets picked up, lodged and starts its move.

Standard parcel post so looks like next week closest…

    • +2

Got my tracking email as well

  • +1

FWIW I just received my tracking number

  • +1

    tracking received!

  • +1

    Me too. Received tracking number

  • +1

    Received tracking number too

  • Received tracking number three

  • +2

Most likely the local post office takes a while to process each individual order with tracking. Imagine op sending a truck load of jerky to the post office with a few staff. Not to mention other post orders. Interesting the number of plus vote decreased to a minimum of 490 now increased to 492.

    • +1

Australia post come to pick up big batches for a small fee to the processing centre which is what they likely did.

      • I see, no excuse then.

  • Tracking number received

    Hungry hungry hippo

  • Received tracking number & auspost preparation email (four)

  • +10

Got mine too. Finally I can feed my children.

  • Received a tracking number too but it doen't mean much other than it should arrive someday. Even that's not guaranteed as nothing has actually been sent or picked up yet, they've only forwarded their intentions to AP.

It can take days or more after tracking information is received before anything is actually sent out/picked up so I'm guessing late next week at the earliest.

    • Yes got mine to. "Order is being Prepared" lol
Expect it possibly late next week. Probably taste rubbish after all this!

  • +1

Also got the shipping notification, if the jerky is good I would consider buying from Dr Proctor directly again.

I will NEVER give another cent to Buy Aussie Now for as long as I live. Garbage business with dodgy practices, hopefully will be banned from OzBargain before long.

    • -1

Sorry you feel that way Matt. We are doing our best to rectify the situation and didn't realise it would take this long to deliver. We are not a garbage business by any means and we didn't do anything dodgy intentionally.
Hopefully you will enjoy your Jerky.

    • +11

I can't understand the anger? We are getting some super cheap jerky, they got overwhelmed with orders but are filling them. BAN has been pretty responsive here and has even shared a mobile number as well, which I think is pretty bold.

      • -1

Many people don't understand how the real world works unfortunately.

If there's not enough jerky it has to be made. Making quality jerky takes time and if they rush it you get a shit product and then everyone will have a good whinge. Then there's the issue of packaging and that seems to be the case here. They can't pop down to Coles and buy some cling wrap. It has to be made somewhere and sent during COVID.

        So many factors.

        • +1

It is all about communication. If they said when they posted the deal it might take up to one month to send it, because they will make new one based on demand. People wouldn't be upset.

          • +1

@Mistredo: Considering it went out of stock and the rep went and added more, followed by Dave saying the orders kept coming and they tried to stop it but couldn't. Where is the blame at? BuyAussieNow.

Again so many factors. Like failure of communication and overselling something that should have gone to backorder after "more stock" was added.

Btw I'm not defending BuyAussieNow either. What they've done is wrong. All I've done is pointed out the reasons why Dr Proctor landed himself in this situation.

      • +1

BAN lied about having accurate stock levels and refused to communicate until the end. I would be okay with it if the product actually had gone into backorder, but no. Moreover, refund requests were not actually processed.

        Anti-consumer much?

        • Doc Proc is a victim here as well considering BAN oversold their product and didn't stop it immediately when asked to. Now they're trying to fulfill all the orders and to make it so much worse, BAN aren't cancelling orders when requested so people who have charged back may end up getting jerky after all.

          • @Clear: I would go so far to say that they're also a victim. I'm doubtful that's the case. They're getting some return on this even if it is potentially close to break even. Massive brand recognition and a sale is still a sale and revenue on the books.

            • @10101010101: BAN is the middleman and no different to Amazon and other marketplaces. BAN had a set amount of stock for the Doc, they oversold it and now the Doc has had to do all this extra work to fulfill the orders they weren't planning on getting. If anything this is going to be a dent on their brand as I'm sure many here are already blaming them and won't be going back to them.

It's like the marketing plan for exposure with some loss leading has backfired.

              • @Clear: Someone is lying but whom.
                Sent 23/7/21

Thank you for your recent order of Doctor Proctor's Beef Jerky.

This email is to inform you that due to the overwhelming support of people like you and the current covid restrictions in Victoria, there will be some delays.

Your order is expected to arrive no later than August 5th.
Some orders have already been shipped and David is busy shipping orders every day from his warehouse in Northcote Victoria.

David from Doctor Proctor asked us to extend his deepest thanks to each and everyone one of you for supporting his small family owned Australian business. In turn, David and his team are dedicated to supporting Australian Beef Farmers and producing the finest quality products from 100% Aussie Beef made from pure topside muscle (no processed cheap cuts here). We're certain it will be worth the wait.

                • @aerona: Yes that would be BAN.

                  • @Clear: Does ban have an agreement where they are forcrd to produce the goods or can they cancel and refund all orders due to oversold.

Or have they decided to take the opportunity for some extra revenue.

Do you also think they (proctor) received some emails directly and had opportunity to contact us here

                    • @aerona: BuyAussieNow is the seller. It's up to them to cancel and refund orders.

                      • @Clear: Have you ever heard a marketplace force another company to produce the goods. Especially if were their fault.

I know ebay and Amazon have a system to punish ipi of a seller and ranking but not if it were their error

                        • +1

@aerona: Yes it's called BuyAussieNow. I really don't know what contracts are in place. Perhaps they do have to make everything ordered?

What thing I do know for certain is that BAN have certainly been shady. Would you agree?

      • +1

Unfortunately Op has became a punchbag for some users who used the opportunity to vent their anger. I hope op are not mentally affected as majority of people ordered didn't take advantage of this. We are all eager for jerky. Looks like we will get it by sometime next week. The race is on who will post first when they received it. There is now more than 10 pages of conversations, looks like we are all very passionate about jerky.

  • Tracking number received. Hopefully it taste good.

    • I've had dodgy sellers send me an empty envelope in the past with a tracking number. Hopefully we don't get this

      • That's unfortunate. Hopefully we don't get empty jerky packets.

  • +1

I hope everyone didn't get the same tracking number…. 😬

    • I didn't get one at all! :(

    • Post yours and we can check 😁

      • -1

Dont do it. They are watching and attaching who is who.

Ill let you know the last number of my tracking. It ends with a 5

        • +1

Who? The lizard people? Mark Zuck? Big Pharma?

The people sending it know exactly which tracking numbers belong to which people.

The last 10 digits of my tracking number are 1000931509.
          Go nuts.

Lizard people: Be kind to us surface dwellers. I believe we can live in peace.

    • My address is correct on the tracking

      • Same here. Looks fine so far.

Merged from BuyAussieNow - The Mob Mentality is Strong on This One

Now that there's light at the end of the tunnel for Dr Proctors and Ugg Australia - I've ordered both but only received shipping confirmation on the jerky, the mob mentality of some members here are a joy to behold.

Like, seriously people, you'll ruin businesses because your jerky and uggs are delayed? How much $ are you going to lose if it were a scam, which most of the site including myself knows it's not? $100? $500? Enough to ruin your finances? And there's chargeback as well!!!

Oh, well I guess we really live in the Entitlement Ages! I want this, and I want it now!!! ACCC on speed dial!!!

    Fire away!!!

    • +25

I read through the OP twice and still have no idea what it's about

    • +7

      Trump profile photo.

      End thread.

      • Make Australia Great Again

        • Make ozbargain great again.

    • +5

What on earth is going on

      • +7

        Thanks for asking. Cheers.
Think it might be two blocks of wood from Russia.

        • 😂😂😂😂

        • May get our moneys worth with this substitute. Have you seen the price of wood lately?

    • Ok

    • +1

      Welcome to OzFkKnows…

    • huh?

    • +13

Like, seriously people, you'll ruin businesses because your jerky and uggs are delayed?

No, because they took thousands of peoples money and 1) refused to do refunds when requests b) lied to people and c) didn't provide any updates for a month.

How much $ are you going to lose if it were a scam, which most of the site including myself knows it's not? $100? $500? Enough to ruin your finances? And there's chargeback as well!!!

So if I go to a cafe and pay $4 for a coffee and they say they won't give it to me, I just move on because $4 isn't that much to me? What a stupid rhetoric.

Your profile pic says it all. Go away.

    • Why don't you OP/Trump stay on the deal to blow sunshine up BuyAussieNow you know what ?
Why spread it more like a cancer ?

    • your jerky and uggs are delayed?

Nothing worse than a delayed jerky, your eyes start watering and you say "ugg".

    • +2

ACCC on speed dial? Nah mate, the only number we got on speed dial are the bikies.

OP has Trump as their profile photo but are a fragile snowflake themselves, explains why they're just rambling though.

  • +4

The order has been put in with Auspost but it actually hasn't been picked up yet

  • He said Australia post are sending their vans around today to pick them up

  • Mines still processing…

    • You've been singled out

    • mine is showing "Processing" too, what does that mean?

  • BUT WERE TOLD IN WRITING BY THE OP THAT WE GET THEM THIS WEEK - ANOTHER LIE
