Apple AirPods Pro 2nd Gen $399 (+ Bonus $80 Apple Gift Card) @ Apple

2450

Apple, as usual, is running their annual Black Friday event

Works out to be $319 after receiving the gift card, and the gift card can be used on future purchases. You won't need to worry about Apple going insolvent, unlike Deliveroo

Stack with discounted gift cards for even further discounts. Coles currently have 15% off TCN GCs

On top of this, stack with 10% upsized cashback from Cashrewards as well

From @bargainsgrabber's comment: the AirPods Pro 2 should be an all time low after factoring in the bonus apple gift card and cashback

10% Cashback (excl. GST) from Cashrewards should hopefully discount this a further $35 (estimate) and if using 10% off gift cards, you can save another $401

So final cost will be $399 - $40 - $35 = $324 (+ bonus $80 Apple Gift Card on top)

Adding on the $80 bonus gift card from Apple brings the AirPods Pro 2nd Gen down to a whopping $244 using cashback (the lowest ever for the AirPods Pro 2nd Gen), or at the very least $279 without cashback

All time low was $319

Credits to @3235113 for finding the original deals

  1. Purchase $400 Apple GC from Coles to be returned in the form of Flybuys or from BIG W/ Aldi(redeem it at JB for Apple GC) to have 10% off straight discount

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2022

    • add it to your wallet?

      • You mean as in Apple Wallet for Apple Pay? So when paying online I just use Apple Pay as if it’s another credit/debit card ?

        • No, like add it to your Apple ID account

          • @I Smell Pennies: And how do I pay for the AirPods tomorrow?

Is it adding to the same balance used for buying apps and paying for iCloud ?

I’m old and confused as hell now.

            • @HardQuiz: Yes! The same balance is used to pay for apps and services. And if it hasn't changed since a few months back when I made my own purchases, it should be eligible for cashback too

        • No, I mean add it to the store wallet. Redeem the gift card into your wallet.

    • You can either pay direct with the GC or add to your account credit first

  • Wonder when cashrewards will announce their cashback rate

I successfully converted 15% off TCN cards from Coles to Apple GC at JB.

    • hi how do we make the most of the 15% TCN gift cards from coles? they only sell $50 and $100 gift cards. Are we expected to 8 or 4 to accumulate upto $400? If so, how do we then use them to pay for a $400 Apple giftcard ag Jb-hifi? never had experience with these before sorry

      • I think what her/she is doing is convert the gift card to Apple GC then loaded into your Apple account to buy from Apple store Black Friday sale plus cash reward cash back.

  • Apple Cashback via Cashrewards has been confirmed. Please see deal post here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/740336

  • How will I get the $80 apple gift card when buying through cashrewards, does it get automatically added to my account or do i get an e-gift card of some sort. Also if it is an e-gift card am I able to change this for a physical gift card?

    • The $80 gift card is bundled with the airpods purchase.

So what you do is use the Cashrewards App, or website, then “click through” to Apple to make your purchase. Apple will give you the Airpods and $80 goft card, and you’ll then receive cashback via Cashrewards after a few days

  • Has anyone ever sucessfully double dipped qantas shopping points with cash rewards? or is it one or the other.

  • if I buy two airpods, will i get 2x $80 Apple GC?

    • Buy one get the gift card and then use it to buy the 2nd one.

      • but when i buy the 2nd one, will i get another $80 apple giftcard?

        • +1

Yes. It’s just treated as a new purchase.

          That’s my understanding.

    • +2

Your gift card will be sent to your email address within 24 hours of your purchase being shipped or confirmed for pick-up at an Apple Store.

  • Order done! Ended up getting courier delivery for $15, because the next pick up window was tuesday…

Not sure why they dont let people pick up orders on the weekends or Friday. ridiculous

    • Why delivery fee ?

I placed an order and it was free delivery.

      • Yeah delivery is free (standard delivery)

        • So the $15 courier fee is for expedited delivery?

      • $15 Delivery is for same day delivery within a 3 hour window.

As mentioned, the next pick up slot available was tuesday next week, and it would of cost me $10 in parking fees anyway.

So i figured id just get same day delivery for $5 more.

The stsndard delivery was one week away, too long

    • Mine had pickup windows starting tomorrow throughout the weekend too. Maybe your store is out of stock?

      • Both my apple stores were the same. weird. it had to have stock cos theyre deliver it from there tomorrow

    • I just purchased for pick up today. 1st pick up slot at 12pm.

    • I ordered for free delivery on Tuesday and it arrived today!

  • Ordered 2 at once. Pick up Friday afternoon at Apple Hornsby.

    • Received 2 x$80 GC in the morning prior to pick up :)

  • Just ordered two for standard delivery :)

  • For those ordered, how long until the gift card was sent to you? Mine seems to have some issue.

    • +1

      I ordered 12:30am, shipped 5:15am, gift card sent 6:05am

  • Correct me if I am wrorng….

With Ultimate card in Aldi which can be use to buy Apple gift card in JB to load into Apple account, plus the 10% cash back from Cash Rewards, you are only paying $359.1 - $80 Bonus Gift card - $39.99 cash back, the bill comes to $239.2, even cheaper if you can find the 15% off TCN from Coles.

    • Cashback is not $39.99, 10% after gst

  • +1

holy shit this basically makes the macbook pro closer to like 40~50% off if bought together

edit: thanks for sharing op :D

  • This comment section is intense.. so the go is;
    1. Go coles and get $400 worth of jb gift card
    2. Go to jb and get $400 worth of apple gift card with the coles/jb gift card
    3. Apply the gift card to apple and purchase with cashreward?
Is that right? First time dealing with any of these

    • yup

    • Does coles have a special on jb gift cards atm?

      • They do, they’re really hard to find, everyone’s after them. Was told they might have stock at random points during to week so just keep an eye out.

    • Since when can you buy gift cards with gift cards?

I thought you weren't allowed to do that?

      • I had no problem, felt a little bad making them swipe 5 cards but they seemed happy to do it. Granted it was early and before it got hectic.

  • +1

    Thanks OP
    1. Bought $400 GC via NRMA (5% discount)
    2. Applied Cashrewards 10% (used them for the first time, got signup offer $10 credit)
    3. $80 GC from Apple Black Friday (will add to my apple account to pay for kid’s subscriptions and monthly icloud)
No maximum discount possible (Coles cards), but super happy with the final price/value

    • Hi,

What was the denomination of the card (s), 400 for a single card or 100 each?

  • How do I apply the gift card online?

  • -1

You would need to buy two though.

So one for the gift card. Use gift card to buy another. Then return the original.

Actually that doesn’t work either, so confused bahahaha

  • Not sure why I got voted down just checked with Apple.m online. You can’t do it.

  • Nope my original post is only way to do it.

  • You get two invoices. One for the Airpods at $319, and one for the gift card at $80

    • Means less chance of cashback on the GC component of the order.

      • My gut still points to cashback being based on the full amount (less GST). We'll see :)

    • So if you return the airpods you only get $319 back. The gift card is not returnable.

  • Just ordered one airpods pro 2 for 259 under deals on ebay plus

    • This one you don't have to fight for it and can be cheaper than the ebay deal

      • plus I can do TRS, another 10% off the RPP =)

        • @macky123 Do you know whether we can use the electronic invoice from Apple (with name and address) to claim TRS, without a physical receipt?

        • -1

Yes thanks to the Wu Han virus, totally forgot about TRS.

Think I may wait for Christmas sale to have the invoice goes into the 60 days bracket. Sure Apple / or some retailer will do some deal.

  • Cashback tracks to member accounts between 2-7 days after you receive confirmation from Apple that the product has been shipped.

does this mean the cashrewards are only available for shipping and not C&C? I'm probably overthinking it

    • +1

No, it's available for C&C as well (I did it before). In fact, if you're C&C sometimes it could be faster at times

  • I ordered the airpods pro gen 2 through cashrewards from apple. I havent recieved any email or indication as to whether cashback got activated. Does anyone know how long the email from cashrewards saying how much cashback is going to be recieved takes to be sent. Please someone reply i am really worried i missed out on my cashback :(

Not as good as the Macapp ebay plus deal!

  • Slightly off topic - I have a mate travelling to NZ and if I get this deal through him would the tax refund at airport be on $400 or $320? Seing as this a gift card would they process a tax refund on it?

Other option is price match at office works with Costco and then trs refund for gen 2 AirPods Pro. I assume this can be done in store at office works?

  • heads up. Airpods 3 with magcase get no gift card… no idea why

  • purchased

  • Just got mine delivered.
Great upgrade from the original airpods pro

  • I dont know why I bought it

    • You were marketed into it. Hope you enjoy it.

  • Question for someone who has purchased, can I ask what the invoice itemization is? Do you get an invoice for 1x $399 or $319 and $80?

    • 2 invoices.

One invoice for the AirPods $319 and another for the $80 GC.

      • That's because the gift cards is not returnable. If you return you just get $319 back.

  • +1

Update: Apple Cashback just tracked for $74 on the dot (I purchased 2 AirPods). $37 for those who got 1 Qty

Cashback is based on full purchase price of $399 less GST as per my knowledge

    • +3

      $319/1.1 + $80 GC (gst free) = $370 value purchase

      • Sounds about right. Glad we got people who can actually do maths for us :)

    • what the heck? why is my cashback only $29? It shows as $290 purchase price. On my invoice, I see Value Per Unit (exclude GST) is $362.73, then Extended Value (exclude GST) is $290, but I paid full $399

      • Same

      • That's so weird, maybe ask Apple about this and Cashrewards as well

        • All good, it automatically updated to $37 after a while.

  • +2

$399 Airpods have tracked succesfully and came out @ $244 after % discounts, cashbacks and GC credit. Job done. Thanks OP!

    • +1

Thanks for your comment. Enjoy :)

Anyone else seeing a $399.00 and $80 pending charge on their amex after getting the AirPods?

    • Same thing on Visa. What gives?

      • +1

I called Apple yesterday and they told me it’s a pending charge that will change.

        • I’ve now had another two $169 charges show up. Still no refund on the $80. Hows things looking your end?

          • @SignorT: Mine has just updated to $319 + $80, how about yours?

            • @ajee123: It amounts should be $319 and $80. The gift cards amount is not refunded if you return the ipods. Easier for them to manage.

              • +1

@BargainBenno: @BargainBenno I still reckon it’s annoying/dodgy on their part. I took mine for GST refund at the airport and only got it back on the $319. IMO, the gift card is not a purchase and shouldn’t have a value assigned, I still paid $399 for the product.
