Spintel will get more customer when they can future dated installation after 30/11

    • +1

if you think for a second, that that speed and that price, each customer means a loss for them.

  • duh im with them just since 2 months ago :( for 50/20 for $54 for 6 months)
do you think they happy to upgrade me to 100/20 ? im fine paying $54 for 6 months

  • I feel like something bad will happen to me, my cancellation date with superloop is 29/11 … can't be this lucky without a paying a price

    • Mine is the 11th, but I went for it. They have an activation email that needs to be hit within 7 days. So i will start it in 5 days time

    • +1

My last day with SL is tomorrow, fingers crossed I get connected today or tomorrow.

      • hi there how you go with your connection?
Did you cancel SL first and sign up Spintel or another way round, sign up connected first and cancel SL?
        Thank you

        • As long as you sign up for the promotion before it ends I wouldn't bother cancelling first given how long spintel taking to connect

  • +4

prefer 100/40.. not liking how most providers reduced it to 100/20

  • Are they in Victoria ?

    • Sydney.

  • Are there any exclusions for people that have already signed up for one of their previous promos within the last 12 months?

  • How long does it take them until the service goes active?

    • 2-5 Business days I was told on live chat. I have to cancel my Superloop by the 1st to avoid another bill. So hopefully it’s closer to 2.

      • hi there, i am the same, 1st is my last day, so will you sign up on 30/11 and cancel SL on the same day?

        • Nah I just signed up and got connected yesterday. Cancelled Superloop already. Not worried on missing out on a week with Superloop.

anyone got this to work with Telstra Smart Modem Gen2 DJA0231?

    • +2

It should. They don't use VLAN tagging, unlike TPG.

    • +3

works absolutely fine. I have the same and have been with them before.

  • Any existing customers comment on sinusoidal waves of evening traffic flow? Good latency etc?

    • +1

SpinTel don't have the best latency. All Australian traffic goes back to Sydney.

  • I have a sagecom Fast 3864 will it work with this plan?

  • Anyone signed up successfully from its webpage? Seems it doesn't work at all. When I click "Next" button on each step, nothing happens. When I click "submit order", nothing happens! I tried to call 132210 and have been waiting on the line for 20 mins. I have tried to connect to them via FB Messenger but have been waiting for 10 mins no human agent!

    • Had this happen to me as well. I had to use a browser with no extensions installed. I suggest disabling all extensions in your browser and try again.

  • +3

Just signed up successfully using credit card via this link https://lnkd.in/gWcMky_C

Confirmed with Leaptel chat that they offer pro rata cancellation.

    • +1

This link worked for me. Thanks!

  • Very happy spintel customer here. Great deal.

    My order email mail states

Definitely signed up with the discount though.

everyone asking for referal code, please note the way with spintel is each code is unique, the referral (the existing customer) need to tell spintel the referee (new customer) full name and (either email or mobile) and they generate a code.

so please be patient as you can imagine they will be busy generating hundreds of code this week.
and the REFERAL is the one getting $50 (after referee pays 2 bills (some says 3)

  • yeah I am on a Fiber to the Home connection 250mbps/100mbps, if they offer something of this level for cheaper than I pay now I might be interested the UPLOAD speed is important to me so if they can't match it, then they suck.

    • SpinTel don't service OptiComm.

  • I just tried to contact their online support and have been transferred at least ten times, I guess I'll spend the bit extra and go with Leaptel instead.

    • what do you need to ask?
i am chatting with them via WA and very responsive.

      • +1

Can you please ask Spintel representative what would be the case for existing customer if we sign up with this deal.

New deal would replace the old one ?
        Or
        There would be 2 accounts

        • +2

i asked if i can be upgraded from 50/20 $54 (just joined last month) to 100/20 and im happy to pay the same $54 for 6 months they said no, they can but i need to top up $25 each month

      • I wanted to ask them about a possibility of scheduling the service for the near future.

I'm glad you were able to contact them, but it felt like too much of a gamble, especially if I needed to contact them for service support.

At least Leaptel had an OzB rep that was responsive, and that's worth the extra $$ per month.

        • nope, hundread posts above said need to start before end of nov.

i think they are they one of not many in australia that has Whatsapp chat. this is 10000 miles better than phone/email.

          • -2

@CyberMurning: Thanks, but I shouldn't have to rely on others to get an answer to a simple question like this.

I agree, an online chat option is great, but only if I can actually talk to a support rep.

  • Anyone from Adelaide happy with Spintel?

  • -1

Great, more data going out. Well, I s'pose after optus, medibank and ahm, this is nothing.

  • Any idea of belong modem or eero can be re-used ?

    • +1

ex belong here just moved to spintel last month (and yeah paid $54 for 50/20 duhhh)
10000% confirm belong modem is FINE

  • +1

I was with Spintel 5-6 months ago until I switch to More. It allowed me to sign up smoothly within a few minutes.

Just hate that it asks for your modem and router S/N and Mac ID.

    • same with spintel (modem and router S/N and Mac ID.)
i guess that is if you need some remote troubleshooting they need to be able to access your modem.
i know scary but thats what it is

      • Do you mean the nbn box details or your router connects to the nbn box. If the latter that’s bollocks

  • Hi guys I jumped on chat and this is the response:

"Please note the Black Friday deal is till the end of the month. And orders with a on hold date after the 30th will not receive the black Friday deal.
If you want this special offer you have to sign up before the 30th of November and start the connection from that date.
This is management's policy and will not change, There are no exceptions this is a special offer and it is only till the 30th of November."

Personally I will wait, I am currently with exetel and as we all know I need to cancel with a month notice. In any case many offers around including $100 bonuses at times (so not too different from this offer which is a saving of around $120 over the 6 months compared to tangerine of SL)

Does superloop provide pro rata refund?

  • their website is not working? try to check out but it keeps saying "One or more products in your cart are for new customers only"

    • Having the same issue, can't proceed past this point.

    • Try opening in a new window/browser and filling in the details manually.

I had the same issue when using lastpass to fill in my details.

    • i have referred a few and some said they could just signed no issue

    • website is still not working but order is placed via phone

  • +1

Extremely tempted to give them a go but Launtel has been absolutely flawless the last 12mths and as a heavy streaming and gaming household, I’m a bit reluctant especially when it’s one PoP for the entire country!

  • It looks like even though my neighbour is an existing customer, with the Spintel service due to expire on 30th November, they will not let him take up this deal :-(

  • After 30+ years of Telstra. Going to give this a crack!

    • Do I need to contact Telstra or is that done automatically?

  • I'm getting an invalid promo code message.

Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

  • Anybody ever had luck with Spintel connecting on the same day? Just signed up and my next bill cycle with Tangerine starts tomorrow haha :')

    • Signed up and got connected today. My billing with superloop also finishes tomorrow, so keen to get this connected and SL cancelled today. See https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/13008459/redir for more deets.

    • if you do it early should be okay i heard the process is actually automated provided you give all correct details etc

  • +3

When I was with Spintel in 2017 it was the worst experience I've ever had with an ISP – and I've been with them all.

I'm sure this will be a great deal if nothing goes wrong, but if something does go wrong (and it did for me), expect to wait hours on hold to get through to someone not in Australia.

It took 6 months to get an active connection with them after it went down.

    • had them in 2019, I’ve been on all sorts of low tier providers but boy spintel was the complete worse. Wouldn’t even sign up to them even if they paid ME.

  • Anyone know if moving with a MyRepublic modem will be ok?

    • +1

me, ex belong, it worked, i heard tpg as well, but generally normal modem is fine as long they can support PPPoE

  • +3

Just got connected. Speed test from Melbourne: https://www.speedtest.net/result/13982926569

    Here's what I did:
    1. Signed up today at around 10am.
    2. Sign up form won't accept credit card (tried 2), so used my bank details for direct debit.
    3. Contacted them via chat after lunch to see if they can update my payment details to use my credit card.
    4. They called me and we tried to update, but NAB blocked them and sent a text, replied 1 to allow and they tried and it worked. Also asked them if they could connected today or tomorrow as my SL billing ends tomorrow.
    5. Connected at 1:30pm. Didn't receive a text or SMS, so jumped on the chat and ask them to send the PPPoE details, which worked.

Hopefully peak speeds will be good tonight :)

    • That was quick.
I signed up 7:50am QLD time. Still nothing yet. I’ve got till the 1st Dec before I need to cancel Superloop. So no great rush.

      • The person in the chat opened a ticket for me, so I think that pushed things along a bit quicker :)

    • Thanks for posting this. Did the same and now waiting for the connection.

Is your order tracker still saying 'Your NBN is processing, we will contact you as soon as we have an ETA' or is it saying 'Completed'?

      • +1

In my case, the tracker says "completed". If you haven't done so, make sure you fill in the serial number / mac address of your modem and the HFC modem (if using HFC). Another thing would be to ask support in the chat to see if they can connect today or tomorrow to get it done faster.

        • Thanks. I have already added my mac address and serial number for the router. Also, had asked support to start my service either today or tomorrow but support person was saying since I have FTTP, it would take 2-5 days to transfer. Which weird considering FTTP allows for connection from a different ISP to test speeds etc without cancelling your current service and is easist service to transfer out.

        • +1

Just got a text with username and password. Looks like I'm connected.

        • Do they need the HFC modem serial too? I only gave the serial of my tp link modem.

          • @digitalbath: I am not sure why they need it, but I gave them the serial for the router and HFC modem anyway as my billing period with Superloop ends tomorrow and I need to get connected asap.

    • +1

first time changing NBN providers, do you need to do any configuration changes or its all done automatically with the NBN device? (Have FTTC)

      • +1

Router configuration changes depend on the ISP you are swapping to. There are ISPs that do it automatically using IPoE for authentication (Launtel, Aussie BB, Superloop and Telstra to name a few). Login to your routers IP address and configure it to PPPoE authentication with the SpinTel username and password they give to you.

  • this is my chat, confirming referral is fine with this promo. but dont forget to enter BF20 aswell as the referral !

[13:40, 24/11/2022] xxx: so you know there is promotion of 100/20 plan until the end of Nov ?
    [13:41, 24/11/2022] xxx: with promo code BF20
[13:42, 24/11/2022] xxx: if they join with my referral code will they still get that promotion as well ? (and i get $50 referral bonus later)
[13:48, 24/11/2022] +61 403 838 952: Yes, you will still get the credit as you're just referring them, it is different from the deal.

  • I'm not seeing the referral and promo box.

  • +1

From memory, you enter the referral code in question 4 of the checkout page, under the section of Order Review. In there, there will be a field for Refer A Friend.

  • Update for existing customers:

I signed up as an existing customer as there was a login button and it accepted my order around 2am. My order status is "Order Approved" and everything seemed to go well.

Now 2.30pm and chat don't want to honour the order as it's for new customers only.

I noticed the sign up form has changed as you cannot login any more and it now state "One or more products in your cart are for new customers only."

    Oh well….

    • 12 and a half hours later?

  • I’d rather end myself than to sign up with spintel

    • +2

      do tell?

  • anyone know if Spintel block torrents?

    • nope i am just fine. black adam is waiting!
if you have issue just use cloudfare dns or google dns

      • +1

currently with dodo and churning soon…. it blocks all torrents and can't find a way pass it even with VPN
