Updates: To all Ozbargainers,

We are experiencing a delay in the delivery of our gaming computers, which was caused by a lack of manpower, an influx of orders, logistics issues, and product availability problems. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and time losses that you may have experienced as a result of this delay.

To address these issues, we have implemented a series of measures. Firstly, we have provided simpler and clearer upgrade options to expedite order processing and better meet your needs. Additionally, we are continuously increasing our workforce, strengthening our cooperation with suppliers, and improving logistics efficiency to reduce the delivery time of orders. We are also continually improving our workflows to increase production efficiency and quality control, thus providing better products and services.

Furthermore, we now offer direct component shipping services to reduce the delivery time and with a further discount (the case will not be included).

Choosing so will reduce the dispatch time to 5 business days or less.

Regarding the issue of component availability for our gaming computers, we are continuously working on improving our business systems. In rare cases, we may encounter delays in the availability of certain components, which can result in overselling some parts. We make every effort to obtain the original components. However, if they are not available, we will use equivalent or higher-grade products that have similar or higher costs. We also offer dynamic component upgrades, such as motherboard or solid-state drive upgrades.

The problem is that we lack communication with our customers, which prevents them from understanding what their machine has gone through. Our back-end systems are still being improved, and during this period, we rely entirely on human communication, which is an area that needs significant improvement.

We would also like to address an issue related to QC with our gaming computers. Due to policies, we only provide Windows installation services if customers have purchased a Windows activation key. For customers who have not purchased a Windows activation key, we will use our external hard drive to test the system. Once the testing is completed, we will send the computer to the customer in its original state. We will continue to improve our quality control to ensure that our products meet your expectations.

We highly value your criticism and advice, and we will continue to provide you with continuously improved services and products.

Ozbargainers and stores are complementary to each other. Users continuously provide straight forward feedback which is very helpful, while stores continuously absorb and improve their products and services based on this feedback. This is also one of the reasons why we trust this platform. In an open and honest platform, our mistakes are immediately exposed, and we can quickly learn how to improve.

If you have any questions or suggestions regarding this matter, please feel free to contact us, and we will do our best to serve you.

Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely

I’m not in need of this, but good to hear you’re listening to your customers. Good stuff

  • +3

Nice n cheap build. Good deal rep!

  • -1

Please use high airflow good cases. I think people will pay a touch more for a good case.
    The darkflash cases are horrible.
    12400f over 11400f if possible.
Gen 4 drive with minimum 500g if possible (1tb better)

    Besides that looks good.

Would you be able to sell them in parts as a package? (For those who will build themself to get shipped quicker.)

    • +48
      1. Many people prefer smaller cases. Heat isn’t that bad.

      2. “If you configure it with current gen components at last gen’s prices I would be happy”

      3. “Please make things specifically for me next time”

      This is plenty fine. Cripes.

      • +10

Its just input. No one has to aggree, not even sure why you would comment, but ok. Some maybe happy to pay a little more for a better spec. They had a nice cheap 12400 deal the other week. Hope they can match or better it. Just giving some input.

        • +1

I think they're aiming for that really low price point with this model so the older gen CPU and smaller SSD makes sense.
Great that they're using a good quality PSU though.

      • Yup for the price its great. Heat was only an issue in the older units where you can overclock. With newer SSD and new CPUs its alot quieter without all the fans

    • +16

Once you add everything you've suggested its no longer a budget deal..
Price creep is a real issue with budget gaming.
Everything here is more then good enough for any modern game and its a great price.

I've put together some basic office PC's with i3 12100 CPU's and basic LGA1700 motherboards for around this price. No money left to add a 3060 into the mix… Stuck with intel integrated graphics.

They had this one the other week, was a great deal. Hope they could do better with a cheaper high air flow case, hopefully bring to price down some more. Bring this deal back would be good. Its just input for BPC.

        • +5

          That's a 30% increase in price.

        • +5

With this build you can have a 3060ti, 32gb ram and 1tb nvme for $1026 which is much better than the one you linked

    • You want a mercedes for the price of a toyota

      • +1

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/761701

Nope, Its just input for BPC. less then $250 more for a much better build.
I would say its more like adding a upgrade to the base model toyota rather then a car that can cost 5 times more.

        • +3

That build is literally the same performance specs except with a bigger ssd, that's all. You have 0 clue about hardware performance and how bottlenecking works.

          • -2

@JerraJones: Lol, because i like some different parts. Ok lol

            • +3

@AIbot: You're the kind of person who'd buy an rtx4090 and pair it with an i5 2500k because you automatically think bigger must mean better.

There's 0 difference between a 11400f and 12400f when paired with a 3060 (8gb). 12400f is something you'd pair with a stronger gpu, not something as low-mid tier as the gimped version of the 3060.

              • -2

@JerraJones: Lol your reaching hard there.

                • +4

@AIbot: He's right. The 3060 8GB will be the bottleneck in most games. Unless you specially have more CPU intensive games or application, the performance gains of the 12th gen i5 will not be utilised.
Unless you plan on upgrading the GPU (and maybe CPU too) down the line, this build makes more sense than the 12th gen one

                  • -1

@FireRunner: Where do i talk about performance.
But if we must, then the linked pc has a 12400f plus 3060 12g, gen4 ssd, this will be better in games and tasks/work/hobbies. You can say not for the extra or whatever, But i did not say anything about it, was just saying i liked those parts/deal.

But like said in the first post. For its price it looks good.
So i never said it was bad, so not sure where yous are getting it from, maybe not reading in full, im not sure. Like said before as well, its just input for BPC, others have done the same as well.

                    • @AIbot: I don’t know why you’d want a 12th Gen if not for performance?
Fair, didn’t realise that was a 12GB 3060. I think you’d still be very much GPU bound with either way.
We’re just trying to figure out why you’d want it configured said way. It would not be obtainable at the price point of this PC and the price of linked deal is less bang for your buck.

                      • +1

@FireRunner: There is nothing to figure, so not sure why you would. Like said, I just liked that build more. I never said at the same cost. Just would like more deals like that.

                        • @AIbot: For $967 you can upgrade the build here with a 3060ti+1tb nvme ssd that'll be 30% faster than the build you linked that you keep talking about. This deal is still far better value.

    • +2

Didn't know they took requests. I'd prefer no SSD at all, and 10th gen to make it sub $500. Thanks

      • -1

Sounds good, someone else said a deal with no case. I do like the idea of some deals with some missing parts like case, but your idea of no ssd i like as well. Maybe just some mb\cpu\vc (ram if ddr5 mb) upgrade package would be good as well. So you can use your old drive\ram\case\psu.

    • +1

11400f is far beyond overkill for this gpu, you'll be gpu bottlenecked in anything at even 1080p besides csgo/valorant.

    • +2

The point of these "budget" build is that they're cheap because they're components the builder is trying to offload because there's no shot they'd sell normally nowadays. 10th/11th gen Intel, Ryzen 5500 (and low end boards like the A320), etc… Put them into a cheap package and at least they're attractive for people who can't stretch that little bit extra for a 12400F or a 5600

    • I've got 2 systems in the house using Darkflash DLM21 Mesh cases, which would be better choice than the DLM22, and absolutely nothing wrong with them for the money, cooling is also decent.
For comparison i have other systems using Lian Li Lancool II Mesh, Coolermaster HAF X and a cheapy Thermaltake case.
The Thermaltake case was about the same price and the Darkflash is much better.

    • Nothing you can't fix with a rotary tool.

  • +16

@BPC, you should do a deal for people who already have a case, psu and storage and looking for an upgrade. Like CPU MOBO RAM GPU deals. That would be awesome.

If you can do a 7800X3D (once its out), 4080/XTX, 32GB C6000 CL30 and a gigabyte gaming AX X at a good price. That would be sweet. Well, one can wish right?

  • +3

    Any 4080 deals please :')

Your parents must be so proud.

    • +1

      Thanks for the life story

    • +1

      yikes

    • +1

So much bad writing in one post….

    • I imagine you’ve summarised the average ozbargainer in one comment.

  • +1

Is this a good build if I wanna try my hand at basic 3d modelling and animation?

    • +1

Yeah it would be fine for that. Better stuff will always be faster. The 3060 8gb is a bit gimped compared to the 3060 12gb, but then if you're going for cheap it might still be worth it. You might want to look at a way of expanding the storage, building collections of 3D assets can easily enter hundreds of gigabytes territory before long.

    • +1

What applications are you going to use?

  • +41

I would avoid BPC like the plague currently, regardless of taking a break to catch up.

I recently bought their 11400F with 2060 gaming PC deal for $599. Paid $40 extra to upgrade to a 3060 8gb. (On phone currently, but find the deal and check out the second page, many people having many issues)

I placed my order on the 22nd Feb and received it last Friday. I think it was close to 20 business days before they posted it and 2 business days with auspost.

They initially stated in their ozbargain post it was a 5-7 day lead time.

In addition to the above headache, they did not install Windows on the SSD as they advertised. Fine for me, but may trip up non technical folks.

They stated they had benchmark tested the PC and it had passed quality control, yet XMP was turned off. I’ve also found that turning XMP on does not allow the PC to post, or will BSOD when attempting to boot into Windows. To this day I have only managed to run the RAM at 2800mhz maximum with manually tuned timings. Anything above that, and the PC cannot boot.

They also had the TPM, CPS and UEFI settings completely wrong so if anyone wanted to install Windows 11, they better know their way around a BIOS because a lot needed to be changed.

They gave me random PNY ram instead of the advertised G.Skill ram. Both of them are not on the (advertised or received) motherboards supported list.

One pro I guess I can throw them is they seemed to upgrade my motherboard for free. Received a B560M gigabyte instead of the H510M gigabyte.

Their communication was lackluster without any semblance of empathy for my concerns regarding the delay. Even now, they have not responded to my initial request for help regarding the RAM issues (I think 7 business days ago now). They are on my no-buy list going forward and I encourage everyone else to have an additional think before purchasing from them.

    • +7

I had issues getting a reply too, but contacting the REP on here, I had my issue sorted in a day, with a free upgrade.

      Maybe try that

      • +8

I’ll give it a go, though I shouldn’t have to. Thanks though, somehow I did not think to do that and just went via email comms

        • +1

Hope you get that sorted, sorry to hear. Thanks for sharing your experence.

    • +7

I had the exact same issue, only i received the h510 mobo. Except my pc completely failed to boot/post as soon as i plugged in a bootable usb. As soon as i removed it it was able to get it to post and go into bios. I assumed they didnt run any QC checks either as surely they would have picked up on this issue

I ordered on the 23 of feb got a email saying it was ready to pickup on 24th of march. Only to bring the pc home after driving an hour home for it to fail to post with any bootable device plugged in. Even tried with a ssd with windows installed on it. Spent hours trying different usbs and windows install

And i got the same transparent ram as you. Another 2 hour plus round trip to take the pc back the next day and still havent heard back from them about it being fixed. So frustrating

Regarding pc refusing to boot with xmp enabled. Mine arrived with xmp enabled, i didnt think of disabling it to see if it resolved my non boot issue

      • +2

Based on a lot of these comments, I am thinking these PNY sticks without heat spreaders are either an entirely bad batch or fully incapable of running their rated speeds and timings. Regardless, it's not acceptable.

    • +5

I had issues 2 years ago with a 5600X + 3080 build back when you couldn't get GPUs on their own. The issues was that they provided a case with USB-C and a mATX motherboard without the header for USB-C, followed by the front AIO and rear fan set to exhaust - no intake air whatsoever.

Initially they promised a USB hub to make up for the MB mistake, but fell silent when I agreed. After a few comments on OzBargain they sent me a replacement ATX motherboard with the correct header.

Meanwhile Techfast told me in email that their lead times on OzBargain are irrelevant and for marketing purposes only. If the deal says 2 weeks and it's 6 weeks then that's your own fault for believing the deal. They're called Techslow for a reason. The downsides of going prebuilt.

      • This 1up Techslow.

I don't think Techfast had such horrendous feedbacks as bombarded with every other comments on this thread.

      • +1

Could you share the exact quote from the TechFast email you reference in your last paragraph?

      • Forgot to mention that my case came with the 2 included fans, while everyone else only got one. Seems BPC are pocketing the fans that come with cases and not including them with your order.

If you're using a low airflow case like in this deal you're going to have a real bad time for that reason.

    • At least you received it.

I ordered on 24th February (on a deal with a "9-13 working day" wait time), and my order is still sitting at the "parts reserved" status.

    • When I purchased a PC from them during COVID I got a few issues with the build & very little help… Definitely was not tested properly before sending out & the aftermarket service was terrible… They have had some decent sales though & don't neg those but do offer what happened to me

      • What kind of issues did you have with your build, and what kind of 'help' was offered? I think it's good to really lay it all out on the table for other prospective buyers to see

        • +1

I have previously stated on other posts… No RGB working, program failure, Over heating.
I rang & asked to bring the PC back to them for inspection. They wanted me to post it & I would rather do the 45 minute to 1 hour drive & didn't want to post …
Asked them to look at it when I brought it in & was told "NO" they have other builds to complete. I explained my build was before them & I have paid & was sent out a PC which was faulty. They still said "NO" I had to just leave it & they would look at it when they had time.
The next day we went into lockdown again… I would have been without a PC for "who knows how long" ???

I was very PC illiterate back then but could most likely fix those issues myself now but that is not the point.

  • +16

Seriously still waiting for a refund from you guys…

  • +31

You guys can't catch up for shit.

  • +9

Expect to wait around 4 weeks lol

Ordered from them on 17th of March and just been notified it is expected to be completed sometime 2nd week of April…🤷‍♂️

    • +3

Is this what everyone else is experiencing? I was about to pull the trigger on this but not going to wait 4 weeks.

      • +1

My experience so far is ordered on 22/2 and received a tracking number on 27/3 with delivery estimated between 4/04 and 6/04.

      • Looks like I got lucky. Ordered on 25/02 and received on 21/03.

        • Nearly 4 weeks to arrive? Do you live in Birdsville or something?

          • +1

@GregRust: I am somewhat rural NSW and Australia Post somehow was the shining star in the entire transaction, getting it from VIC to me in two business days. The issue was the other 18+ business days of BPC building the PC and sending it

          • @GregRust: I said I ordered on the 25/02, not they shipped on the 25/02.

      • I ordered on 24/2. My current order status is "parts reserved".

        • They are prioritising on orders with dispatch delivery. I ordered on 16th March and yesterday i got parts reserved.

It really depends on whether they have parts ready to be used for assembly.

          • @Grossen: Well, my parts were "reserved" two weeks ago, so hopefully they're able to assemble it eventually.

  • I'm happy to say my order from the 3080 deal has finally shipped :)

  • +36

Some issues with my recently received build from BPC:

Advertised as having Windows installed (not activated). No OS was installed.

RGB panel for front of case (lights up the brand logo) was dislodged and floating around in one of the front fan blades. Only discovered this when powering on PC for the first time and hearing the RGB cable caught in the fan blade.

Missing the rear pre installed RGB fan that comes standard with the case.

Charged additional $30 shipping for the PC to be sent with the GPU uninstalled at my request. PC was delivered with the GPU (in box) sitting loosely in the case (so why the additional $30 charge?). BPC stated they would install the GPU so they could conduct QC testing on my build, then uninstall it for shipping. However, the GPU had the manufacture seal still intact, so it was never removed from the packaging. Combined with the other issues with the build, I’m confident that zero QC testing was conducted.

Order confirmation stated a build time of 3 - 7 days. It took a month.

Multiple emails had to be sent to get a response. BPC solution was for me to ship the PC back to them so that they could rebuild it. Given how long it took to receive it in the first place, it wasn’t really viable for me.

    • +18

      Similar experience with me.

3 weeks delayed, couldn't contact via either sales or support emails, nor website form despite waiting 7 days for response.

Missing aRGB Fan as advertised in OzBargain description.
RAM was different model - same speed and latency as advertised G-Skill Ripjaws RAM, but no heat spreaders and looks worse.
GPU was MSI Ventus Model instead of Gigabyte Windforce Model (not a huge deal).
Large, visible scratch inside case on front plastic shroud presumably from forcing the radiator bracket in place.

No contact was made about part swaps or delay of build - I wouldn't have minded to wait extra time for correct parts.

Only a message through OzB was able to get a response - in which I was offered a pair of HP earbuds as compensation.

      • +7

These practices are beyond false advertising and simply plain illegal. Hope you're paying attention BPC

      • +4

I think I'm luckier, but I'm not recommending them in the future.

My CPU fan wasn't connected so was reaching high temps before i opened it up to find the fan not spinning. Fingers crossed i don't run into any thermal permanent damage.

Something simple as that shows they're not quality assuring the builds are fit for use before shipping.

  • +26

    Yikes at the comments

    • +8

Yeah not good. I had same issues. CPU fan not installed properly; faulty GPU; no OS

Seems like they slapped it together without any checks.

  • can we get an option for the following
    a) mesh front case
    b) CL16 ram - cl22 3200mhz is a fail for me

    • +1

If all the comments are true, I think its a fail for me.

      • +1

Yeah pretty damning some of it

  • +9

In terms of price, this is an excellent deal, but these comments are making me lose hope in BPC

  • +17

Hmmm the service and speed used to be what made this bunch better than techfast. Now they are both the same. Negged to increase the awareness of above posts

    • +5

It makes me think whether i should have gone with aftershock even if similar build costs hundreds more. I just don't have the time and patience to go back and forth because of major issues. Who has time to send pc away then wait potentially weeks to get it back?

      • +11

Yeah it's really not reassuring. Try enigma.. they are doing their best at being transparent

  • +14

I called them last week and they still have 400 pc builds in backlog. I just don't understand why they would advertise more pc builds if they can't even fulfil existing orders.

I'm getting beyond frustrated about the delays and hearing issues from others which makes me anxious when I eventually get my pc. I paid for the dispatched delivery and originally it was 2 weeks build. Now they are pushing to 3 weeks.

  • I really resent the way these kinds of deals are essentially a tacit admission that we're being gouged on individual parts.

  • +2

Since there is clearly a backog with builds, can you do a deal on the parts ?
Probably some more shipping but many here are fine to build their own pc.

  • +18

Comments are enough for me to steer clear.

  • Worth buying this? Is this a good deal?

    • +11

No and no. Read the comments and stay clear

    • +1

It IS 100% a decent if not great deal from a price perspective and the machine they are advertising. Reading the comments though sounds like they have some QC and customer experience issues to work through. I was about to buy this but now getting cold feet reading the comments will wait and see.

  • +17

Yep, sorry guys, I spent $4k on my machine and I returned it back today because it wouldn't boot.

    My issues include:
    - One of the RAM sticks was scratched on the body, probably not a big deal, but why?
    - GPU 600w connector is hitting the tampered glass and you have to really push the glass on, it shouldn't be like that
    - No Windows installed as advertised
    - Spent 3 days trying to diagnose why I cannot get a display signal, black screen

I waited over a month, to then send the PC back now to wait probably weeks.

It's unacceptable. I can't tell you what a complete waste of time this has been. And an absolute disrespect for us who have wasted countless of hours because you guys cannot bother doing a QC that should have picked these issues up.

In summary, I ordered 22 Feb, money gone, PC arrived 24 Mar, PC sent back 28 Mar!!

I have never seen so many people have this many issues with their PC before. And I repeatedly mentioned IN these deals TO TAKE YOUR TIME WITH QC!!!

    • +2

I felt so bad for you after reading strings of comments in the other post and having to wait 4 weeks only to get delivered a lemon. I paid for that model you bought and upgraded the CPU and CPU cooler.

My 5 year old gaming laptop is in its last breathe and i need to transfer across my data to a reliable pc. I am a total amateur in terms of diagnosing computer issues or assembling parts together, so any significant issues i find will cause a headache for me.

      • +2

Let's hope your build arrives without any issues. I wouldn't wish this upon anyone. There's nothing worse. But, contact them if there are issues, they will help you troubleshoot and if nothing works, you'll end up in the same boat as many of us. But don't waste your time trying to work it out, Google sure, but just get on the phone to them and you'll speed up the entire process 👍

If everything works when you get it, test it out for a week or two (play an intensive game for sever hours and memory tests) before putting anything on there.

    • which store did you get the PC from?

      • It was sent from Mount Waverley I would imagine? Didn't know there was more stores.

  • +3

BPC seemed to be ozb’s pc darling. Honeymoon over?

But then again, with cheap pricing comes shortcuts. How else is a profit made?

Shortcuts shouldn’t include missing components, build issues with potential to cause permanent damage to components and not testing units that would have easily identified said issues to save time because you can’t fulfil orders in the time frames advertised.

OP, it was never explained to me in my emails, but could you explain why BPC charged me an extra $30 shipping to have my build sent with the GPU uninstalled, when the GPU was just shipped inside of the case anyway and wouldn’t have increased shipping cost at all?

Very long wait time, this is money hog, please focus on complete your existing build first

Yeah seems like best to avoid from the delays alone. Can't keep selling when the backlog is so messed up and they quality control issues.
