First time post, full time lurker.

Went to check dell's annual EOFY and came across this by accident.

Was hoping for Muzeeb to bless us with some cheap alienware monitors for EOFY but found this instead. Checked yesterday evening and it was sitting at $814. Possibly the cheapest its ever been with Uniday code?

Have been looking at getting a Gigabyte m32u but comparison wise this beats it by a small margin in picture quality and you lose the USB C upstream.

    • Don't waste your money. If you're an amateur, buy BenQ SW270c. If you also do video editing, buy from their PD line up or SW271.

      • I'm after a 32", don't video edit at all.

        • BenQ does have a 32" in SW and lower end PD line up but very expensive, 3k I guess

They call SW a Photographer's monitor

  • Man I already have a U3219Q which I bought for $1200, and I don’t even game. Still tempted and trying to justify 144Hz is necessary for my work though.

    • You don't need 144Hz for work.

  • Thanks OP bought - no idea why!

already have a 32 4k dell ultrasharp ips and an LG 27GL850 gaming from a few years ago what do i do with those two

    • +3

people like you who cause the inflation rate to keep going up lol

      • I am ashamed :( in my defence though I used my savings and not on credit card

        • -2

          Weird rich flex

          • @essent1al: no really - on the news they were saying how people are spending big on eating out causing inflation to keep going up but it was all on credit cards due to cost of living crisis.
Whereas I am not spending money I dont have

  • Couple of questions, can this be mounted and is this a good monitor for a PS5?

    • Yes, Yes

    • This would be awesome for PS5. Some games even support over 60fps which would make use of the 144hz refresh rate. The HDR on this should also make the whole image pop and look much better.

      • Are you saying I only need 60Hz for PS5 then? 144Hz overkill?

        • not completely overkill some games benefit from the 144hz refresh rate. Tbh even if 144hz is overkill it's still a pretty good monitor for $500 and if u wish to switch over to PC you have an awesome monitor for gaming in the future!

          • @RetroMetro: I'm actually planning to use for productivity, my current monitor has 144Hz and I don't feel like it adds much. Also I only have a PS4 haha. Was just interested on whether it's 144Hz is any good for consoles.

  • Can anyone PM a uniday code? Thanks!!!

  • +1

Awesome monitor I use this for 4k Gaming. The HDR is amazing definitely recommend at this price.

  • Would love a uniday code so I can finally get into 4k gaming, if anyone has one spare please PM <3

    • Lol the extra $10 isn’t stopping you, dont pander to peoples sympathy.

  • I would also like a code if possible for Uniday

    • Just buy it at $506, not sure how long it will last.

  • spare code please PM

  • oh my god, the price is excellent. I bought it too early.💔

  • Good deal but my laptop only has integrated Intel graphics (11th gen i7 cpu). Not sure if it can drive a 4k monitor at 144hz?

    • +1

      (11th gen i7 cpu).

They are UHD but not 144hz, can't play game with that integrated graphic anyway.

  • Can anyone confirm usb-c charging max wattage on this one, is it 90w?

    • +2

      No USB-C, so no charging.

  • Is this worth it for primarily WFH purposes?

    • +2

Im getting one, although S2721QS (27 inch that is often under $300 on sale) is probably a better bet, exact same expect 60Hz instead of 144Hz which isnt that big of deal for non gaming

32 inch or ultrawide (over 27 inch) can be a good if have a lot of windows or spreadsheets open at once

  • Already have SE3223Q VA panel, this is good price just for IPS panel.

  • Shame about the contrast ratio, that's one thing that sticks out to me in the rtings review. Oh and the awful local dimming.

    • That's the case for all monitors in this price range, you have to pay 2-3x the price to get something that's a lot better.

      • Honestly would prefer something smaller but more pleasant to look at but it seems that's not in the cards right now.

  • Can anyone please send me a unidays code? Been waiting for this day.

Edit: ehh scratch that don’t need a code or the neg’s folks. For the $16 saving I’m not going to wait around for the monitor if been eyeing off for the last 6 months, just bought it anyway.

  • -1

Can i get a spare code plz as well?

  • can anyone advise this monitor or 34 inch ultrawide monitor to wfh. i want to get rid of 2 x27 inch montior set up to get just 1 monitor which fit for wfh purposes

  • I bought this a month ago for $700. Would dell refund me the difference if i ask or is it better to try and return the first one and buy it at the lower price?

    • +1

      How's the monitor?

      • It's amazing for the price, get it

    • Would they allow return for change of mind? Better to ask them if they can refund you the difference (unlikely though)

    • +1

All good, they have allowed me to return the initial purchase and i've just bought at the better price.

      • Can you advise how you contacted dell? They knocked back my claim directly stating EOFY pricing is not a reason to refund on their price guarantee. How did you ask them to process your return?

        • +1

Same getting knocked back and my original order is due to arrive on Monday. My only option is to buy another one now and return the unit arriving Monday. Seems a waste of Dell's and my time and more costly to Dell to do it this way..

  • +3

144hz excel spreadsheets here I come!

  • Can I use a DP to USB-C cable to connect to my MBP M1P and still have 4k 144hz? not for gaming just work

    • +1

      Yep that's what I do.

    • +3

Yes, but the DP 1.4 will cap at 120Hz

  • +3

For G3223Q veterans out there, what's the point of so many USB Superspeed ports (downstream/upstream)? Can this monitor be used as a hub or somethin?

    Thanks

    Zz

  • +3

I get redirected to the compare monitors page after clicking on 'add to cart'. Is this OOS now? Or is the site just acting up?

  • +1

Can't add to cart from the link, can't find the product in their list any more and doesn't come up after a search.

  • +1

  • +1

Looks like its been ozbargained. Can no longer add to cart.

  • How's this combined with Shopback's 12% cashback?

    • I did it with shopback but it hasn't registered the amount yet

    • +1

  • +3

  • +1

Awesome post… managed to get one- Thankyou!!
just bought a Mac mini yesterday…will need to buy a DP to USB-c cable, but can anyone recommend decent webcam (privacy shutter essential) and microphone/speakers to go with this? Mounted preferably. Will these be able to be powered by the screen ports?

  • Just got one so not sure why oos?

    • Can't add to cart anymore

      • I must have been the very last! :S

  • +5

    • Yes

      • +1

OK got one for $490 with corp discount. plus AmEx offer on top

it is so totally your fault!

        • You're welcome!! Bought my wife same monitor in January for $899. You will be happy with it.

          • @starburstyellow: thanks a lot mate! already sold my s2722qc for $350

means that for $100 I got immensely better gaming experience (and more screen real estate for work, too)

thank you for your advice 😊

            • +1

@shabaka: Oh wow! Not bad hey! I still have my wife's old monitor. Its practically worthless. Glad you managed to get some $$ and now game in 4k~!! Enjoy.

              • @starburstyellow: yeah I am a seller extraordinaire

I have this rule, when I buy something new I sell the old. mostly applies to technology, with furniture or clothes I just give those away (or sell for like $10 people usually avoid free furniture thinking it's broken) or recycle

  • Back in stock again!!

  • Yep back in stock, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, GOT ONE!!

  • +1

    buy now, think later!

  • +1

Is there any way to use Coles Mastercard Gift Cards, which are currently on discount?

  • Bought one. Thanks op

  • Yep, back in stock. Grabbed one and added a 5 year advanced replacement warranty - might as well look after the investment.

    • +4

      investment

you think this is an investment?

      • I normally buy cheaper, or used monitors. Current is 1440P 75hz, and it was under half what this one is. So, yeah, kind of. I'd like it to last at least 5 years and if there's any issues, I'd rather know it's going to be replaced. I'm normally not one for extended warranty, but ~$100 gets 5 years advance replacement on something that's normally selling for double what I paid. Seems like a no brainer.

        • I see. Maybe you meant the investment for your own pleasure. Cause this thing depreciates as soon as you open the box, so wasn't sure why this is an invesment

          • @Taro Milk Tea: Oh, yeah. Sorry. It does read a bit like that. It'll depreciate the second it lands, but more than if in four years, it pops, I can get more value out of my purchase with a replacement under warranty than just losing out.

        • +2

idk I think the 3 yr base warranty is sufficient enough. for > 1/5 of the price for 2 years idk cant justify it.

          • @justaname: Agreed and they’d probably still take it under warranty if you kicked up enough of a stink.
