Been waiting for the 3x4ah pack to return :(

    • Same here!

    • There were heaps around metro Sydney last time. I was surprised and thought that was going to be the normal price going forward

      • Me too, that's why I never got them (didn't need at the time). By the time I wanted some they were all gone. I'll just get this one for the meantime, the dual charger is probably handy anyway.

    • how much was that?

  • +7

Did the deal actually end? It's always been this price when I've been in

PS I made one of these and its been awesome

the repeated popularity of these makes me believe that every ozbargainer's garage is full of stacks of lithium-ion

    • +1

Exactly. Especially when those kits on sales even cheaper than skins. Had to sell all those new batteries and chargers cheap.

    • +3

Should make a colourful display if the place ever burns

  • 20 x 18650 (2000mAh) for $99.98

    Thanks OP.

Meh, ozito uses cheaper Chinese tp-ion cell, Aldi is more superior Samsung cell, the latest slim one even uses 21700 cell. If you're after the cell can't beat Aldi, they regularly mark it down to at least $10 per pack

      • -2

Aldi is more superior Samsung cell

Too many people don't understand what they buy but they only look at the price, Bunnings target this kind of shoppers LOL

        • -1

larger ecosystem & being able to replace tools/batteries at any time far outweighs better batteries (VHS vs BETAMAX)

      • Good to know, was thinking of building an ebike battery

      • Sweet! Which Aldi pack has the Sammy 21700 cell?

    • You can buy (trash) 18650 2000mAh cells on Aliexpress as cheap as ~2 each so it depends on if you want garbage or reliable cells.

Compared to these, Ryobi batteries are a rip off!

    • +1

      There are adaptors.

      • I found one, and its more expensive than this battery. Appreciate if you know of a good one at a better price. Thanks.

        https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/304587343143

        • I'll have to look. That one is definitely 3D printed (pretty mint quality; typically these battery adaptors are 3D prints).

Though when you say it's more expensive than the battery, it works out better if you've built up a collection of Ozito batteries over the years.

Edit: that being said, I don't know where the 'battery protection' is - if it's in the Ozito battery, or the Ryobi battery, or the tools themselves.

          • @redpen: What I remember reading earlier was with mixing batteries there is no communication between the tool and the battery now. It still should be alright if am using the ozito charger and keep an eye on the charge levels when discharging.

        • I bought one of these a few months ago from a different seller. I think that I paid around $40 at the time. It does the job but the 3D printing isn't the best quality IMHO. The first I received the clips on either side would pop out because the part that holds them in was printed too thin so it distorted under the spring pressure inside and therefore they wouldn't stay in place. The seller sent another adapter and that one was better, however the clips can be a bit stiff to push at times so sometimes they don't lock into the tool very well and if they do then it can be a bit hard to push the clips in to release it. Still as I said it does the job and I don't regret buying it.

          • @Rogerwilco: Thanks mate. Can you please send the link to the battery adaptor from that particular seller?

  • How are the 18650s in these Ozitos compare to those in other makes? Surely they must be somewhat of lower quality?

Disclaimer: I am invested in the Ozito ecosystem.

  • What is the general consensus around ozito or ryobi tools, for general household work and occasional trade work.

I have milwaukee for work but stuff like a small blower just seems overly expensive.

    • consensus around ozito or ryobi tools

I know Ryobi from a fried trader and they just do the job but when you need to do a hard task, then you need professional tools and they are more expensive for a reason, starting from the battery's cells brand.

    • Bought an ozito drill to use for cleaning the shower and kitchen. Been splashed by water and caustic chemicals, chuck is rusted as hell but still going strong after about a year or so.

Used it a few time to drive wood screws. Was able to drive a 10cm screw fine I guess.

    • The Ryobi drills etc feel way nicer in the hand and more 'premium' than the Ozito stuff. Ozito feels cheap and nasty. I have a bunch of Robyi and Bosch Blue 18v gear. Ryobi is a step down from the Bosch, but form home stuff it's more than adequate.

I'm still waiting for them to price match the lawn mower deal!

Sometimes I think people put more thought into choosing a tool battery system than they did in their vote in the referendum.

    • Lol, we’re on a deal/bargain website and specifically a thread about batteries/battery systems

  • I missed out on this deal last time, not this time!

    Thank you @EBC

  • I knew I should've grabbed one tonight before it found its way onto OzBargain.. Really wish they'd bring back the 3x4ah batteries though as no need for the charger

  • Found in stock, thanks for the post have been waiting for these to come back as I frequently run out of ozito batteries using the shop vac. Should be covered now!

    • The vacuum is one of the worst battery killers. The dual battery chainsaw lasts a lot longer, surprisingly.

      • Try a cordless heatgun or an angle grinder.

  • Very good deal IMO considering the cost if you buy each of these, per item.

    Ozito 4.0Ah - $69ea x2 = $138
    Ozito dual charger = $69
    Total = $207
Saving $108 (more than 50% off)

As OP has mentioned, best to snatch one up now if you need them, at regular $99 price or miss out

    • No Ozbargainer would ever really buy 4Ah batteries for $69 though

      • if you need one and these arent in stock then you will pay $69

        • I wouldn't pay that much. I have heaps of these from all the deals over the years anyway

    As per usual

    NOT FOR WA

    F* WA!

    Gee, what a surprise.

  • Was hoping Ozito/Bunnings would match the 8AH batteries at $99 :(

  • I'm not spending more on the Ozito system as the plastic tabs on the battery that clip it on into the skin are prone to cracking and breaking, at least in my experience (cue satisfied customers who never have the battery fall out of their device with broken plastic).

    • Plenty of trade quality tools for you to choose from. Bosch, DeWalt, Makita, Metabo, Milwaukee.
