  • Cool, got a stainless steel bottle for 95c :)

  • what page do you apply the coupon to? They say it's in the shipping and billing but i don't see any field for it.

    • +1

When you are about to enter your payment details, there is a option (radio button) to select gift voucher.

  • Can anyone make sense of their address entry screen? It validates my address by putting my street name in the suburb, postcode in the state, and street number in the postcode.

When I was going through checkout process; it deducted the $20 but, I received a Invoice for the whole amount I purchased. What does that mean?

    • I love how people neg for asking questions.

      • +2

Maybe because the same question has been asked & answered many times before. Reading is such an underrated skill in an age of just asking questions - the same one over & over. So a link was provided to 1 of the answers posted in the previous page!

  • Kudos good bargain, checkout did have a bit of a bug that you couldnt join the club on the fly I had to make an account first

    • that wasn't a bug :)

  • Does expires Sunday mean it will no longer be valid tomorrow or is tomorrow the last day for this card?

    • should be valid tomorrow but of course there's only one way to find out… :)

  • +1

Now we play the waiting game.

    • +1

The waiting game sucks, let's play Hungry Hungry Hippos!

      • I once fed a Hippo - it wasn't very hungry.

        • +3

My Friend once played hungry hungry hippos. i haven't heard from him since.

    • Lol, more like wait till they cancel our order.

I'm not holding my breath for this one!

I made an order on Saturday. Got two emails, an order confirmation, and tax invoice that day.

I logged into the Snowgum site today and see the order has been cancelled :/

    • Same here, boo.

      • Did either of you guys order last time with the same address?

    • mine is can'd too :(

  • +2

    Bastards cancelled mine too.
I wonder if they intend to pay me back the difference over the voucher I paid…doesn't really seem like it as no email.

  • +4

Cancelled - just checked my account.
I missed the last deal, just joined & ordered over $25 on 15th.
And I buy from Snowgum. Not happy! Won't go to their stores any more!
    Revoked my +.

I missed the last deal, just joined & ordered over $25 on 15th.

      sorry to hear :(

i also missed out last time so didn't post this deal until my order using the new pin arrived :)

And I buy from Snowgum. Not happy! Won't go to their stores any more!

agree bad form cancelling without communicating :( hopefully the rep returns with a response as previously

but snowgum is still better than kathmandu :)

      Revoked my +.

      fair enough

  • Anyone managed to get in touched with them and knew the reason of cancellation?

  • +1

Mine still says Payment Accepted… :S

C'mon just tell me it's cancelled already and let me cry myself to sleep already!

  • +1

they cancelled this order as well as my last order. obviously not a reputable company. i won't be dealing with them again

  • Cancelled my order when I signed in - pricks.

  • +2

i received an email today advising "As the item you ordered is completely out of stock we are unable to supply your order. Your credit card has been refunded $16.35."

I wrote back something along the lines of I can wait until ypou get it back in stock from your supplier.

    Reply:
It is out of stock because we currently cannot get any from the supplier. Your order has been cancelled and refunded rather than back ordered because we do not know when if and when we will be able to get more. I apologise for the inconvenience but many of the smaller items have been completely sold out due to the number of customers making use of the Age voucher.

    • +3

well you're lucky to get an email. i haven't received any emails whatsoever. very poor customer service from snowgum

edit: oh wait, i got some spam from them today

they are still advertising the item i bought on the website as for sale even though it is apparently out of stock and is never going to be restocked …

      • they are still advertising the item i bought on the website as for sale even though it is apparently out of stock and is never going to be restocked …

        let the accc know? :)

  • +5

after reading others' comments about their [first] orders getting cancelled, i'm revoking my +ve because of Snowscum's poor customer service and treatment.

still, props to the OP for posting the voucher codes.

    • +1

Haha, +1 for the "Snowscum" name!

  • Refund has been processed. No communications though.

  • No refund yet. But my account show my order was cancelled :(

  • +4

Order cancelled, no communication as to why…presumably didn't want to honour their deal. Real scummy…I understand this was offered in goodwill to The Age customers…but even so…definitely the wrong way to do business.

  • +1

No refund (credit card charged yesterday), no communication, order cancelled. Good thing I saved my vote for neg.

  • According to their customer service manager,Michael Dickson :"The order was cancelled because the voucher number and pin used was for in store purchases only and not redeemable online. Your credit card was refunded today and this should be reflected on your statement when your bank has finished processing the transaction."

  • +2

revoked my + and snowgum is now on my blacklist

    • Agree, other shops sell the same item, cheaper and free shipping.

    • i wonder if there's a record for the most +ve revokes of a deal?

should ozbargain have pre- and post-purchase voting?

      • irc the dse fiasco did pretty well

  • I knew this was going to happen, they didn't even send me the lock i ordered with the last deal, don't really know why people went crazy voting +ve for this rubbish….

  • My order was cancelled as well with no email or refund yet on my card. At least I get to neg for the first time! :P

Thanks though OP, it was worth a go :)

  • +1

I expected them to cancel this deal

but the last deal, they said they will honor it. Still waiting for my item though.. stuck on payment accepted.

  • Mine canceled too. No communication from them. CC charged on 16th but not refuned yet.

  • I've now received a refund this morning. I can kind of understand why they've cancelled the orders, but they way they've handled it and no communication is not the best.

  • Not happy! Won't go to their stores any more! Snowgum, you are screwed.

  • Lol I reckon they should rename themselves to 'Slowgum' seeing as people haven't received their previous orders haha

  • Don't forget, they'll be harrassing us as we had to sign up to club.

  • Mine cancelled. refund on my card. no email from them.

    • Is this your second order with the $20 voucher codes?

I'm still waiting for my first (and only) order

      • snowscum will eventually get around to cancelling yours

  • Hi Ozbargainers,

Some of you have been asking questions about your orders placed on our online store with the Age voucher code. I will try to answer the questions below. But if you still have questions please feel free to respond to this post so everyone can see the answer or if it is about your personal order please call us on 1800 811 312 or email us [email protected].

Orders placed on the 4th of March
We received a much larger than expected response on our online store and we are still working to get all these orders processed, there are over 2/3 of the orders placed that were placed multiple times or outside the terms and conditions of the offer. Unfortunately this has made the sorting process much slower than expected and the people that followed the terms and conditions are now waiting longer than expected for their products to arrive.

As per the terms and conditions on this voucher “one gift card per customer per household, must be a club member to redeem”, the first valid order that was placed by each customer/household will be fulfilled.
All additional orders per club membership, multiple orders per household or multiple club memberships per customer/household will be cancelled.

As of today, all orders placed that were invalid and had an extra payment made via credit card have had the extra payment value refunded to the nominated credit card.

Orders placed with the second pin number
Orders placed with the second pin number will not be accepted as the voucher was no longer available for use online at this time. All of these orders have been cancelled and we have refunded any money involved.

If your order is still stating “Payment Accepted” then it is still in the processing queue and will be processed if valid and cancelled if found to be a multiple order as per terms above.

If what you ordered is out of stock, where possible we will be offering you something else in replacement for these products, if there is no replacement product available then unfortunately we will have to cancel your order and refund any money involved.

Again, if you have any questions please feel free to respond to this post so everyone can see the answer or if it is about your personal order please call us on 1800 811 312 or email us [email protected].

    Thanks
    Mel

    • so ill get my water bottle, say in june 2014 @ slowgum

      • Hi Easternculture, if you send me your order number i can investigate and let you know what the status of your order is. Thanks

        • +11

          no thanks sweety

you conduct bad business/customer service = my money goes elsewhere

wont be shopping at your store, and ill make sure ill tell my family and friends not to shop their either

by "the sorting process" do you mean fulfilling valid orders or determining which orders are valid?

are they being processed in order of receipt by time/date?

it seems that some orders have been delivered within a few days whilst others still haven't after a couple of weeks

Orders placed with the second pin number
Orders placed with the second pin number will not be accepted as the voucher was no longer available for use online at this time. All of these orders have been cancelled and we have refunded any money involved.

obviously they were being accepted at least until this deal with the new pin was posted since some have been delivered :)

If your order is still stating “Payment Accepted” then it is still in the processing queue and will be processed if valid and cancelled if found to be a multiple order as per terms above.

so there is still hope :)

If what you ordered is out of stock, where possible we will be offering you something else in replacement for these products, if there is no replacement product available then unfortunately we will have to cancel your order and refund any money involved.

who determines the replacement product and how? does the customer have any input?

      • by "the sorting process" do you mean fulfilling valid orders or determining which orders are valid?
We are doing both of these things at the same time.
are they being processed in order of receipt by time/date?
Yes, all the valid orders are being processed in order of dated/time the order was placed.
it seems that some orders have been delivered within a few days whilst others still haven't after a couple of weeks
Because some orders included a credit card payment, we sorted through these first to make sure if there was a credit due to the order being invalid we could refund the money automatically.

obviously they were being accepted at least until this deal with the new pin was posted since some have been delivered :)
this is correct, all valid orders are being fulfilled. Any orders placed with the new pin online are invalid (as the offer was no longer available online) and hence have been cancelled.

so there is still hope :)
        Yes…

who determines the replacement product and how? does the customer have any input?
If we have a replacement product available then we will be contacting these customers personally to the e-mail supplied on the order.

        • obviously they were being accepted at least until this deal with the new pin was posted since some have been delivered :)

this is correct, all valid orders are being fulfilled. Any orders placed with the new pin online are invalid (as the offer was no longer available online) and hence have been cancelled.

what i was trying to say is that orders placed with the new pin online were being accepted as valid at least up until the time that this deal was posted since some have been delivered and not cancelled

  • Ps. Sorry forgot to mention that if your order is invalid and is cancelled you will not receive notification of this via e-mail, it will only state this when you look at your order online.

    • +10

Not good enough Mel, It's one thing to cancel an order, but to not provide email updates on the progress is pathetic. I expected more from "SnowScum"

        • +10

If by "abusing" you mean "accepted an invitation posted in a major newspaper and on your own website" then ok, fair point.

I'm going to lunch now, thinking about "abusing" a voucher I have at a local eatery…

        • +6

so many people abusing the offer, the majority have ruined it for the genuine customers

You are accusing the majority of your customers for abusing the offer, for cheating the system, and for being non-genuine customers. We are a bunch of professional cheaters, are we now?

Well done, you have ruined what little reputation you have left on OzBargain.

        • -4

You are accusing the majority of your customers for abusing the offer, for cheating the system, and for being non-genuine customers. We are a bunch of professional cheaters, are we now?

What about people like http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/95558?page=1#comment-127717… and http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/95558?page=2#comment-127808… ?

And lets not forget the fact that first post had over 9900 clicks.

        • +1

          JLove,

          1. With only two examples (which were accompanied by many neg votes), you want to defend Snowgum's accusation that most OzBargainers are a majority of cheating non-genuine customers that ruined the deal for the minority? Snowgum is saying most of us, including you, are cheaters who tried to defraud them, and only a select few are genuine customers. I resent being defamed by association but perhaps you don't.

          2. The first post has over 9900 clicks, and you agree with Snowgum that most of these 9900 "customers" made fraudulent multiple orders? I find that very hard to believe, particularly when Snowgum's server had great difficulty handling the load.

        • -2
          1. What I was saying was that I would not be surprised if a bunch of people, whether they are ozbargain members or guest, who made multiple orders (using fake names etc) . This opinion is from years of reading comments on ozb.

          2. Why don't you further exaggerate what I say.

Of course, they should honour orders that didn't violate any t&c and at least notify any cancellations via email.

        • -1

You said nothing about being not surprised that there are people who abused the voucher code; you simply quoted two examples but offered no opinion or remark of your own. Of course there are some OzBargainers who are greedy, but Snowgum asserts that the majority of us are like that.

Where did I exaggerate what you wrote? I asked you two questions which you did not answer. You also failed to clarify your obscure remark about the first post having over 9900 clicks. What argument are you trying to make? It is very easy to quote random facts but what do they mean? Here's one for you: "there are over 11,000 people who like OzBargain".

Let me ask you two simple questions. Do you agree with Snowgum's statement that "the majority of customers submitted fraudulent orders, thus ruining the deal for the minority of genuine customers"? If you do, then please justify your position. If you do not, then please explain why you quoted me in your comment and then asked me "what about people like…"?

    • you cancelled my valid order do i get an email my numerous scouting group freinds will be interested in this but i feel some will only say you have been going downhill for years now the others will be convinced

      • Hi coin saver, if you would like to me clarify why your order was cancelled please send me the order number and i can clarify for you. Thanks

  • Hi Matty D,by "abusing" i mean the people that put through multiple (up to 65 orders per person/household). Of course we are more than happy to fulfill the orders that were placed legitimately and followed the terms and conditions.

    • +7

Hang on - I read the Age, used the age pin once and had my online order cancelled. Weren't the terms "use online or instore". How is that not legitimate?

Either (a) you've renegged on an offer or (b) your online ordering system is woefully inadequate.

      • +2

        Me too.
Age reader here. One, just ONE online order from our house. Cancelled without notice.
        Pisspoor effort, Snowgum.

        • Same, if you have your order number please send it to me and i will investigate. Thanks

      • Hi Matty D, if you have your order number please send it to me and i will be happy to investigate your order and let you know why it was cancelled. Thanks

    • Hi Matty D,by "abusing" i mean the people that put through multiple (up to 65 orders per person/household).

is it possible that these people just have the same workplace address?

workplace delivery is not uncommon nor is it uncommon for larger businesses to have hundreds if not thousands of staff at one site

      • i mean the people that put through multiple (up to 65 orders per person/household)

maybe they have a big extended family living in the same house

      • (up to 65 orders per person/household).

so the snowscum site basically crashed and you expect us to believe people were able to place 65 orders before they pulled all the cheap items from the website? hell, i consider myself lucky to even be able to place one order

        • -2

I believe it. You just saw the deal at a wrong time. The site was running smooth when I browsed it and they hadn't taken the cheap goods off yet.

    • If your system isnt good enough to detect these abusers, then you guys aren't ready to be in online shopping.

  • ORD-247303 15 March 2013 AUD$20.00 Cancelled

Mine got cancelled as well…very dodgy practice…

    • -1

Hi cuteduck, the order reference that you have given me was cancelled because it was placed online when these vouchers were invalid for use on the online store, this is clearly stated in the terms and conditions on the Snowgum webstie. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

  • -1

Mine canceled but I am genuine Age reader and this was my first time order…

  • If you only made one order per household and they've cancelled it, have you tried emailing them?

    • Snowscum replied that this deal was invalid, even if you placed only 1 order :-(

Orders placed with the second pin number will not be accepted as the voucher was no longer available for use online at this time. All of these orders have been cancelled and we have refunded any money involved.

  • -1

    Reply from them

This order was cancelled and refunded because the voucher number and pin combination used were for in store purchases only and was not redeemable online.

What is the point of issuing voucher # and pin for in store purchase…

    • The voucher says the PIN was to be entered for online purchases.

  • +1

    @meljane021

There are quite a few eligible Age readers like myself, who only ever made a single order but where caught out by this confused mess and received nothing. That is where the hostility is coming from with this. People are pissed because it looks like Snowgum is doing a Snow-job on honest people who got caught out in the general mess.
You would go a long way PR wise to resolve this by offering GENUINE 1st time orderers, a fresh chance to order.
