      • Thank you for saving me some time

    • also, same store. so no luck there neither

  • +1

Just bought a kindle paperwhite from Dick Smith, $128.82 with local pickup.

  • It's live. Just got Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact + 128GB MicroSD for $660.

    • from which retailer?

      • Kogan.

      • MicroSD (SanDisk) was from Futu.

  • If I buy from dicksmith and the store stock says "in stock", can I pick up today (like just rock up with confirmation and get them to go out the back to get my item)? Or do I have to officially wait for them to process and alert me it's ready? I think it said estimated ready on Wednesday.

It's only a small item (monitor).

    • Normally they say you would have to wait, but you should consider calling them after a couple of hours and ask about your order, sometimes it speeds up the process.

Edit: The above explanation refers to their online store shopping, when you know which exact store is going to fulfill your order.

  • HTC M9 4 sold so far and Note 4 - 200 in one hour….wow.

    • wel reviews for the m9 not that great..

      • Yup, HTC really needs to up their game. LG has managed to get their sh*t together.

  • I bought few items from DSE yesterday. How can I cancel my yesterday order and order today again to take the 20% discount advantage?

    • Go to your orders, click "more options" next to the item and select return item I think might do it.

      • Not working!Only can do this after 30 March :(

  • Not sure if it was me, but the Dicksmith store selector didn't work (got the error 'Operation Timed Out' when trying to search for a store) so I had to pay for shipping. Not sure if I can call them up and request click or collect, either way, Logitech Z506 and G910 for $200 total is nothing to complain about. Thanks OzB

    • Did you try using a different browser?

      • No, I did have my VPN on though, so that might have caused it. Still happy with my purchase

      • I had same issue on chrome, switched to ie and it was fine.

  • Noob-type question: does the 2% cashrewards come off the full eBay price or the post-20% discount price?

    • My guess is it would be what you end up paying - final price.

    • -1

I think it comes off the original price (pre 20% discount) actually. Not 100% though.

      • +1

2% of original less GST from experience in previous deals like this.

    • I bought Dc65 Dyson for $599 after 20% discount (was $749) and is showing up to be 14.98 cash back.. So exactly what I said 2% of the original price not the discounted amount.

  • +1

    DSE are so dodgy.

Was looking at the Tab S 10.5 a couple of days ago and thought I might pick one up for 20% off today.
It's $509 on their website and was the same on their eBay store now they've jacked it up to $592 on their eBay store.

    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/tablets-accessories/samsung-gala…
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-S-10-5-16GB-Wi…

    • noticed the same… ended up going with the good guys as they still have it at the $508 price then 20% off… was aiming to get the bronze but they only have white. Not worth the extra $80 odd dollars so just got white instead.

      • DSE have a code for $70 off on their website, so you could get bronze for $439 plus postage.

        • too late…. unless i can cancel the good guys order… hmmm shall check that one.

        • @Schumi5:

You can, I canceled a good guys ebay order during a 20% off sale last year :)
          I called them up.

        • @chromium:
cool, now trying to find a store with stock so can click n collect but no luck, might just have to get it delivered i guess

  • Could anyone please recommend a DVD/bluray player that records (tv I assume)? My mum has asked for one and there Are so many to choose I don't know which one would be good! A cheaper price would be preferred :) thanks!

  • To buy a ps4 now or not. That is the question. My xbox 360 is still going strong…

    • -4

I got PS1 through to PS3, this will be the 1st time I dont get the next gen PS as its no where near the step up the previous generations were from their predecessors.

      Just my 2c.

    • I went from 360 to PS4 - I have no regrets about it. Games already look quite good, and the controller is a delight. My only protip to you would be to buy a portable battery to charge your controller with, because they seem to have a range of battery life between 3-7 hours, seemingly at random.

  • Should i get the Macbook Air 13" at $1087 now or wait till the easter break? Will there be any sales on those Macbooks in the easter holidays?? Kinda need it asap too…

    • Does anyone know if we get charged GST and custom duty on top if our order crosses 1000 from Kogan ?

      • I asked this of Kogan and they said it wouldn't be charged. I asked them to confirm they would refund any GST/duty charged and they said yes. I would real time chat them and get it in writing.

        • I did call them and they said the exact same thing. Send them an email after and they haven't replied. Any chance you can pass me the screenshot of that conversation where they confirm the fact ?

        • @newsim:
Sorry. I don't have it anymore.

  • New Mac mini 2014 1.4GHZ in Kogan is $520 after code applied, not bad!

  • Code isn't working for me anymore. I've only used it once, I thought we could use it three times

    Ok, working now. Weird

Bought the Obsidian 970 from PCCG
Ebay price $1799 down to $1439.2 not including cashrewards. Hopefully will be down to $1403.22

PCCG website lists it at $1599

so $1403.22 would be %12.2 discount + free shipping

    • Score. That will last you years if you respect it.

      • Thanks, i picked up the ASUS PB278QR monitor from the MSY 10% off deal yesterday to go with it

  • Bought Kindle for

Just ordered a Note 4 from TGG, and an LG G3 from Kogan, with the accompanying cases (S-View for Note 4 and Kogan-branded quick-circle for G3)

    Thumbs up!

    Deciding between these 2 TV's

    50" 100hz Panasonic with 2 hdmi input
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Panasonic-50-127cm-Full-HD-LED-TV…

    vs

    48" Sony Smart 50hz 3 hdmi
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sony-48-122cm-Full-HD-Smart-LED-T…

    Both $749 (before discount)

    Any advice / suggestions

    • -1

Get the Sony: better quality, smart TV, and it actually has 4 HDMI inputs. Hz doesn't make a difference for TVs.

  • I ordered a couple of TP-Link TL-PA411 KITs from Futu. $46.40 delivered for each kit. Cheapest on shopbot is $55.00 plus postage. Winner!

    • +3

As someone who has used the model up from what you got, I highly recommend you cancel that order and invest in wireless AC.
Last year I put an EOP on my desktop, HTPC and router and it was a massive waste of time and money. The speed was decent (up to 10MBps), but I kept having bizarre connection issues.
My desktop would frequently (several times per day) drop the internet connection, but not network connection. I would lose internet access but would be able to remote into my HTPC and get internet on it.
Additionally, when streaming media from the HTPC, I would frequently get stuttering in the playback.

Have since bought a Netgear Nighthawk X6, made both the desktop and HTPC AC compatible and I could not be happier. No more loss of interenet connection and no stuttering with high bit rate content. Speed has also increased, over what the EOPs could do.

Who knows, maybe you'll have better luck, but that's my experience.

      • Shame you had drop outs. Did you do any tests to isolate the issue, or lodge a ticket with the vendor?

        • Another thing I forgot to mention is all three units emitted a high pitch coil whine type sound, which never disappeared.

I honestly couldn't have been bothered wasting more time on them. With all the issues I had, it wasn't worth trying to troubleshoot the problem.
I was willing to just write them off as a failed experiment and get myself set up with wireless AC.

  • Grrr, naughty Dick!

Was looking at the LG40UB800T UHD TV ($649 - 20% = $519.20) with over 10 available but while I was reading a review it suddenly claimed it was out of stock.

    • +1

lol. Was it something I said?

  • So torn on wether to get Xperia Z2 for $400 or the note 4 at roughly $230 more for a very comparable phone spec wise…
    Cant decide! :S

    • +2

If money is no issue then definitely Note 4

      • Well i just lost my job, so it is kinda an issue as its comin out of my AL payout :(
So I went with the Z2.

        • +1

good luck with it all…..surprised you are buying a phone now…..do you really need it??? If so I'd consider a $192 Moto G, it will do a solid job!

        • @nathan-drake:

Thanks mate, Ive held off buying a new phone for 4 years, usin my piece of crap windows phone with barely any features and I was just waiting for a deal like this to get myself one so I can watch stuff when im out and about. It was a soul crushing job so Im actually glad im gone. Things are lookin up!

          If so I'd consider a $192 Moto G

Too late! Z2 here I come!

        • +1

          @thedude23:

good luck mate and i hope you enjoy your Z2. It has a very good build quality and battery life, defs better than a Moto G. I guess for watching stuff it will be a lot better than Moto G as well due to bigger 1080p screen!

        • +1

@thedude23: the z2 is great. Best battery life I have ever had on a phone and the software is still nice and fast 9 months later.

        • You just lost your job, so buying an expensive phone is not the smartest move you can have

  • Anyone recommend a GTX960 on PCCG?
Thinking of upgrading my GTX660 before The Witcher 3 comes out.
Last few cards I have bought have been Gigabytes.

No canon lenses on ted's shop? Grrrr

  • Arghhhh, I wish Galaxy S6 was out now!!!!

ATH-M50x headphone dark green limited version is 179.2 aud delivered or 174.72 aud delivered (after cashrewards) from PCCG ebay. Good deal for an Authorised Seller. And Logitech Z623 speaker is down to 110 aud from TGG. not a bad price also. Cheers!

  • +1

Got a 2nd Gen Moto G for $192 from Dickies, absolute bargain!

    • Did you choose postage or in-store pickup? I'm buying one now and it says in-store pickup will not be available until Wednesday despite the store saying they have stock available on their website.
      Thanks.

      • Chose in-store pickup and said it would be ready today.

      • Mine said Wednesday, but was available for pickup within 3 hours of purchase.

Is there a way to search across all the participating retailers' offers?
The Featured products list only a limited number of product.

    • No.

    • With all the price inflating going on? Sort by Price Highest to Lowest ;)

      • +3

Cheers, just got a peanut for $400,000 minus 20%, pretty good deal

        • discount is capped at $500

peanut price is $399,500 + postage

  • Got a Strix 970 for $446 with 4 Qantas FF Points per dollar with the eBay promotion that they have going on :)

    • +1

Nice work man. That's the amount I paid on Amazon in late November. :p
I do regret it, because of the memory issue, but as long as I don't play games on max settings on my 1440p monitor I quite like the card.

      • Do you turn things down at 1440p or up at 1080p?

    • I was gunna use the qantas promotion but I read this in the T&C's " Discounts or offer codes not provided by this site (Qantas Mall) will result in members not earning Qantas Points for a purchase."

So I went with cashrewards for 2% rebate. Didnt wanna risk missing out on 4QFF points/$ because of that little fine print.

      • +1

Just got an email from Qantas with below in it

"Thank you for visiting Qantas Frequent Flyer’s Online Mall and shopping with eBay. Your Qantas Points are now on their way, so they’ll be appearing in your account soon (30 days from purchase)."

Hopefully I get 1784 points within the next 30 days

        • Well done! Meanwhile cash rewards havnt emailed me yet to let me know my purchase is tracking!

  • +4

Well I must give credit to Dick Smith.
They retained their sale price on the Logitech G27 wheel from yesterday so I only paid $183 using the eBay code.

Lucky I decided yesterday that I didn't really need it at $229.

    • yah great price there! plus cash rewards from ebay
their online site direct also gives $40 off, so only a few $$ difference but great deal nonetheless

    • +1

Awesome deal. Make sure to get Assetto Corsa ;)

      • and an Oculus Rift DK2!!!

        • Bit late for that :P hopefully retail versions with higher res will be out soon :D

  • +3

6TB HGST NAS drives are tempting. Inflated prices but still cheaper than everywhere else with the 20% off.

Wife would kill me though…"why don't you just delete some stuff?"

    • +3

      Delete stuff…that's madness.

      • +7

        Madness? THIS. IS. DATAAAA!

    • +2

I removed the Delete key from all of the keyboards in the house so that she wouldn't know that function exists!

      • right click -> delete

    • but think of all the extra data you could store!

    • Just walk up to her slowly, undo your belt and start an argument. Once she's beaten snot out of you with it, wipe the blood from your nose, pull up your pants, and place the order. She'll let that purchase slide out of guilt.

  • Just bought the TVPAD 4 GCN version from Futu at $287 + cashback. Good price.
