This thread serves to let everyone know how much you have saved on your 7/11 fuel app.

Step 1: Subscribe to this thread to get email updates. You can change your subscription settings in your Ozbargain account to enable more/less email updates.

Step 2: Upon filling up simply fill in the details in this format:

  • NAME OF 7/11 STORE
  • PETROL TYPE
  • PETROL PRICE

Example:

  • Richlands QLD

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

    Rocked up and noticed the 98RON was same price as 91RON, so filled up.

    Guy in the store said head office had instructed this (who knows this might be the standard response if there is a glitch).

    Not the cheapest price as were at the top of the price cycle, but thought it might help out those this weekend in the Penrith area, as everywhere else is around 170+ a litre for 98.

    Also lock the price in on the 7 Eleven app to hedge your bets in weeks time.

        And how is that useful to someone in Penrith NSW?

        I said in the post it’s not the cheapest of all time.

        Fuel prices are relative to location and the current price cycle.

          The fact you have not figured out you can lock a fuel price for any 7 Eleven servo in Oz (not just the 5 closest locations to your GPS location) and fuel up at any 7 Eleven and be saving money everytime you fuel up is on you.

          I have not paid more than $1.40 for U98 in over a year and I fuel up twice a week.

              @bargaineer: Best thing is to sit down for an hour and read up on the method. Especially if you have an iPhone (or have someone in your household that does) as it's super easy. Then you can be saving hundreds if not thousands per year from the one hour you invested into learning about it.

                  @bargaineer: Just to be clear, you don't need to do anything to the iPhone in the way of mods, as long as you can download the 7 Eleven app. I'm using stock iPhone.

                  @bargaineer: I use my work iPhone for the same hack method. You just need to allow access to your phone.

                  Since you’re not informed, standard pricing is not worthy of a deal post, only pricing errors due to lower octane fuel being unavailable and being below current pricing.

                  Don’t get salty if you’re not aware of the status quo. Acknowledge the mistake and move on.

                    I assume those posts are also for the heli crowd too though.

                    But yeah certainly learned the ways of the OzB and fuel prices today and will probably just stick to a lowly comment around these parts in future.

                    I’ll stick to posting TVs and tech.

        Do you have a private jet that you scale the country to collect the cheapest fuel?

        Fuel prices in Western Sydney and Blue Mountains have been high for a long time and if you can get 98 for 30 cents a litre off during the high price cycle, I see that as useful.

        Knowing fuel is cheaper on the other side of Sydney or in another state is of no use to people in the Penrith area.

          I do have a private helicopter and I call it rooted Android phone.

          I don't like jets, tend to overshoot the 7 eleven and has issues hovering on the spot.

            What is the percentage of people on OzBargain with a rooted android phone?

            I guess I have just triggered the rooted Android brigade rather than helping the locals of Penrith.

                    @azukay: Yeah the methods seem to have changed (simplified) since I last looked into it.

                    I have a managed profile on my iPhone and I’m not sure if modifying my location to here there and everywhere will trigger any alarm bells with my company.

                    Might just YOLO it and find out.

      OP Posts a deal for NSW. Others neg the deal citing that it's cheaper in QLD. May as well neg the deal because it's cheaper in Saudi Arabia or something

      It's a deal for 98 in the area. It may not be cheap overall, but it's still a good ~20c cheaper than 98 in the area, especially when other servos in the area charge about the same for E10.

      Costco at Marsden Park is 139.7 for 98. But it's a good ~30mins away

      Is this cheap? No. Is fuel cheap at the moment? No. Is this a good deal at this point in time, for the Penrith area for 98 octane fuel? Yes.

        Is fuel cheap at the moment? Yes, relative to when I was in uni in the mid 2000s. Note, everything is relative.

        Posting a deal requires being aware of the circumstances.

        In this case, it deserves a post in a thread, not a deal post.

      Not a good deal and price. OP FYI there are options to lock price WITHOUT rooted iPhone.

      Mine is not modified in any way or form from stock standard and I can regularly lock outside my 5 petrol station radius.

      It’s well documented in forums here.

    Hi guys. Do you have to generate a new smali patcher every time magisk gets updated?
    I have pixel 2 xl and it passed safety check.
    7 11 app says the location isn’t true.

            Please list in details the steps you have tried
            If you provide information, then someone can review it and point out things for you to check

            Phone model? Is it rooted? Smali patcher done?
            Magisk Hide done? Privacy mode on GPS done?

              @cwongtech: i have been flying since form the beginning days , but suddenly 2 weeks ago it stopped. first the gps joystick(privacy mode on )keep jumping to real location even after trying all the fixes. then 7-11 app popping up message that your location is not true. i have sam s9+. rooted with magisk. smali patcher. magisk hide is on, app is hidden, joystick is hidden, safety net is passed. i cant figured out what is wrong going on..cheers

    Hello all,

    Currently if I open up the "My 7/11" app to lock the fuel price, it says "restore your settings to factory default". :(

    I tried some of the tips posted on this forum, to install "kernbypass(unofficial)" but it has not worked.

    I even tried rebooting my phone, so that the jaibreak is 'lost' temporarily, but the app developers have been quite smart to see that it is still jailbroken.

    Any tips or ideas on how to get it to work?

      I haven't jailbroken my iPhone in yonks but I suspect you need a JB app that 'hides' your jailbroken phone from other apps.

      Install FlyJB X from repo: https://repo.xsf1re.kr/ and then add the app in the Bypass List. Then you should be able to access the app.

    The best advice I can give is get ipad mini which will last you lot more years than iphone.
    To elaborate age of both iphone and ipad mini determines the updates of IOS it will be getting and same for 7-11 updates.

    All A11 devices currently and future updates can easily jailbreak with checkra1n.

        Dont think that will work. u need device which can get updates of IOS14 or at-least where 7-11 app will work. This is for jailbreak method which I’m using. I got iPad 5th gen and iphone x.

        I have got an iPad Mini which was released in 2015 I think. It has ipadOS 14 and ifakelocation works.

        Did you refresh device list??

          Yes I did, we tried for 1/2 hour, and no device popped up (I have windows 10), but when I plug his Iphone XR in, Ifake location worked, on master release note, he did not include the IPAD OS 14 as a compatible OS. I prob go back and try again, as I don't have an IPAD, can you please kindly double check when you have time that you have Ipad OS 14 (not IOS as I think Ipad Mini runs IOS, not Ipad OS , I highly appreciate it. Thank you

            @CuddleMssnuggle: You may be correct. I think I have ios 14.5. However it only shows up like this "14.5 (18E199)". Does not have iOS or iPadOS infront of it.

            But googling "14.5 (18E199)" shows it is likely iOS.

              @wmxc: I think you are running IOS 14.5, if it was IPAD OS it would have shown as IPAD OS, I was surprised that they did not force you to update to IPAD OS. I prob have to upgrade my Samsung S8 to an Iphone for Ifakelocation, the S8 is pretty slow now.

                  @wmxc: I am thinking of upgrading my phone, have been a long term Android boy, but now I may have betray the Android gang to join up with Apple because of Ifake location, I prob play with my S8 (learn how to root and such). Any new Ipad you purchase now will run IPADOS, thus u will need an Iphone, thinking between 11 vs 12 or I can wait 4 months to get 13, this is hard >-<

                    Not sure how much but eBay or facebook marketplace should have it not too expensive. That might be a better path in case if you really prefer Android over iOS.
