Further Info/Tips

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

Master131 spends a lot of time creating and maintaining the script at Project Zero Three that we all know and love.

Vodafone $30 sim starter packs are back in the app for $9

    • They were $8 last month. I missed out.

      $9 is still a bargain.

chopper for hire in the next few hours .. just pm with your login details and type of fuel required

  • Hi All,

I installed Lineageos 17.1 on a Samsung phone, along with magisk and ninja gps.

When I downloaded the 7-11 app it tells me "Your Device is not supported. Restore your device to factory settings".

Any pointers would be great …. thanks

    • +1

From memory that ones because you need to do MagiskHide and tick 7/11 app
      Restart the phone after

      Smali Patcher module done?

Check if SafetyNet test passes (both checks pass?)

Also ensure you have google chrome available (lineage AOSP browser doesn't work with the 7/11 auth page for logging in)

      • +3

Thanks. In the end I reloaded Lineageos and all seems to be good. (fingers crossed). Can't test it properly because I've got a price locked in, but it doesn't thrown an error.

        • +1

If anyone has problems, here is the fix that worked for me (Safetynet was failing on ctprofile).

          1. Install MagiskHide Props Config from Magisk modules
          2. Install Termux from play store
          3. Open Termux and type:
            i) su
            ii) props
iii) on the props dashboard, follow the prompts to change fingerprint to one matching your device.
    • You might need microg or gapps installed, Lineage has two versions one without gapps preinstalled. There is an unofficial version of Lineage with microG installed if you google around. both should work depends if you want or don't want google spying on you.

Anyone in need of a fuel lock, Looking to do a few :)

  • hi everyone. can someone help to root samsung A11 brough form Cosco. i tried king root (mobile app and windows but both fail), and can not get in TWRP recovery to run Magisk. any suggest? thanks in advance

  • Prices of 91 (non E10) around me are at $1.61, yet other parts of Sydney are at $1.21. Absolutely crazy the price difference.

Hopefully it's just price gauging and not a reflection of where prices are about to head across the country.

      No.

  • Hi guys. Definitely a noob here, need some help please. I've downloaded Freighter's app. But cannot do much since it keeps giving the error : No Internet connectivity! Please make sure you are connected to the internet.

Tried restarting, re installing, WiFi, mobile data, etc. Just can't log in or even sign up or even view fuel prices because it thinks I'm offline.

    • Freighter hasn't released an app for ages

You'll need either a rooted Android phone or an iPhone to use with master131's ifakelocation to work..

      • Oh I see. I found a link to an apk dropbox file in this thread and downloaded it lol. Will look into the rooting option for fake locations. Thanks :-)

        • +2

          1) root with magisk if possible
          2) using magisk, get smali patcher module (taichi module has been mentioned to work)
          3) magiskhide, check whether you pass the safetynet test, requires both checks to pass

If you can do the above, you can teleport undetected for 7/11

          • @cwongtech: can I root my Samsung S8 phone and lock in petrol price ? do I have to get lineage OS to get Android 10 in order to download the 7 11 app from playstore

            • +1

@CuddleMssnuggle: I've seen lineage OS used on a samsung s7

Definitely can be done on a samsung s8

Was official android 10 released on the Samsung s8?

If so, you don't need lineage OS but you would still need to root the phone

Edit: looks like android 10 was released for Samsung s8.

You'll need to use ODIN for Samsung devices to send the boot images through

Look up guides on how to use magisk to root your Samsung s8 with android 10

              • @cwongtech: Thanks for the reply, Android 10 is not available for Samsung S8, I will have to get Lineage OS, if I root my S8 will master 's Ifakelocation work or do I have to get an Iphone ?

                • @CuddleMssnuggle: Ifakelocation is for iPhone

Once you've rooted (with magisk), then get smali patcher and ensure your device passes safetynet test checks

And also ensure you have google chrome (gapps suite on-top of lineage, as lineage by default comes with AOSP browser which doesn't play well with 7/11)

          • +2

@cwongtech: Thanks. I didn't want to root my Pixel and had an old Huawei (p smart 2018) which is a mission to unlock the bootloader. So I used the wife's iphone and 3u. Works perfectly and super easy :-)

Hmm I guess I now know why a few people stopped locking in fuel for others. Some people should learn how to be nicer and read.
I only do it to be nice but some people….
In all honesty if you have an iPhone and a PC there is absolutely no reason why you can't do it yourself.

There is no "giving back" to this community, because those you helped didn't contribute to the "community"
Those who need help, are incapable of locking themselves, mostly out of laziness to set up their own choppers and prefer to ask around for a free helicopter ride instead of trying to learn themselves, many (if not all) have absolutely no intention of becoming self-sufficient.

The only way to give back is to donate to Master131 or any of the coders (freighter, vu) who created tools which we use (iFakeLocation, projectzerothree, modded apks when they were available, refinery.fyi), who truly spend their time to help us find where to fly.

In all honesty if you have an iPhone and a PC there is absolutely no reason why you can't do it yourself.

It's easier for them to just message others on OzBargain and burn up someone else's time instead.

  • Like others I am now having trouble with the safety net fail on rooted samsung S5.

For some I can't install the magisk manager for the hide prop module.

I'm thinking it might be easier to just by a cheap iPhone.
Whats the earliest version of iPhone/software I can get that will work with masters ifakelocation?

    Help always appreciated

    • For some I can't install the magisk manager for the hide prop module.

How did you root your phone and what OS is it running?

How did you do the safety net test without using Magisk Manager?
My method of fixing up CTS profile test

Magisk won't have the Modules menu visible if your phone isn't rooted (installing Lineage OS does NOT equal root, though if you installed Lineage OS you're pretty much almost there)

      • Maybe using Odin or something. I can't remember. Currently on lineageOS 16.

I have magisk where I can toggle magiskhide on/off which I've been using to lock in up until now.

Can't seem to find magisk manager anywhere on magisk or phone….
        Am I missing something

        • Go to your Private Messages, I'll do a quick Zoom session and see if I can figure it out for you..

          • @cwongtech: Never used zoom sorry :)

            • @splats: Erm, I'll need to see your computer screen (then mirror your phone via scrcpy from github, you won't need root for this, only USB debugging to your computer which you should already have enabled from transferring Lineage OS via ODIN) or your phone (samsung S5) at the very least if you want me to render assistance…

              • @cwongtech: I fully appreciate your willingness to help out with your own time mate!
Especially at this time of night on the weekend!
                Your a legend.

All this just adds to my angling towards just getting a cheap iPhone.
Just setting up this S5 was a mission for me to start with and now I really can't be bothered faffing around. It's been good up until now.

Just wondering if it's as easy as getting a cheap iPhone 7 (?) And installing ifakelocation and away you go

                • @splats:

If you say it's rooted and has magisk, then you're only a few steps away to fix up the CTS profile issue.

As per my instructions listed here around 6 weeks ago

Requirements to fix up cts profile manually:
                  - Hide Props Config module (Magisk Manager)
                  - Terminal App (Termux for example)

                  Then follow from here

                  Text instructions below
                  1) Start up Terminal/Termux, Grant Superuser rights
                  2) Type: su
                  3) Type: props
                  4) Type: 1, Press <Enter> We are selecting "Edit device Fingerprint" option
                  5) Type: f, Press <Enter> We are selecting "Pick a certified fingerprint"
                  6) Select your manufacturer (in this case, whatever number is next to Samsung, so should be 26, but check), press <Enter>
                  7) Select your phone model (in my case, Xperia Z5, but it had 7.1.1, the last official android version released, but it appeared to work), press <Enter>
Note, my Xperia Z5 has LineageOS 17 installed on it
                  8) Type: y, Press <Enter>

                  Phone should restart automatically
Then check whether the cts profile has a tick next to it :)

Just wondering if it's as easy as getting a cheap iPhone 7 (?) And installing ifakelocation and away you go

                  Apparently it is

Just wanted to say a big thanks to cwongtech who on a Saturday night remotely sorted my problem with my S5.
    Thanks very muchly!!
    You went above and beyond.

Happy to do some fuel locks for people for the next 30min to share the love

    • Happy to do some fuel locks for people for the next 30min to share the love

Welcome back to the helicopter pilots club!

Be careful of how many you take onboard though, 9 out of 10 will have absolutely no interest in joining the helicopters club, just want to ride on other's choppers

      Happy flying!

      • Mate how would you know 9 out of 10 don't want to join the helicopter club. I have a Huawei and can't root my phone otherwise i would. Not everyone is able or capable to root devices. You don't have any obligation to lock in fuel for anyone however making up stats that people have absolutely no intention is incorrect.

        • +1

You don't have any obligation to lock in fuel for anyone however making up stats that people have absolutely no intention is incorrect.

Because I've locked for 100s of people and only one asked if I could help them with their helicopter

The rest just send me their 7/11 account login, fuel type (sometimes they don't even send this to me)

Joining the helicopter club and flying your own helicopter club are two entirely different things.
It's easy to "join" when you have other people flying for you

And I'm sorry I only carried out one or two fuel locks for you in the past, I literally was getting flooded non-stop with messages, my chopper was full and left without doing a passenger headcount in the past.

From the neg count, we are able to observe those who still can't fly after such a long time.

          Hello, from the clouds !

You don't have any obligation to lock in fuel for anyone however making up stats that people have absolutely no intention is incorrect.

After doing 6-7 pages of messages of fuel locks (100s of people) you're right, I don't have any obligation to lock in for anyone.
I don't carry out fuel locks any more because it costs me too much time.
Even to my close friends I have stopped.

I actually have private choppers available for remote access, using a similar method to render assistance to splats

But given what I've seen, a lot of those who ask me for fuel locks (95% approximately) have never shown any gratitude (and therefore don't deserve it), and just as I don't have any obligation to lock in fuel for anyone, I also don't have the obligation to release my remote choppers to the flightless crowd.

How much do you think my time in my life is worth?
How much savings do you get out of fuel locks?

          I'll make you a deal.

I'll provide remote access for you to one of my choppers (you need only TeamViewer to connect), on one condition, you spend one hour per day locking for all those who can't fly themselves, and only you can fly

This agreement lasts in perpetuity, should I find out you stop locking for those who can't fly (since you want to "give back to the community", right?) or you've started to share my private chopper around, then you would have broken our agreement and thus I would no longer have to uphold what I promised (access to my remotely accessed chopper.)

If you want to take up on this offer, PM me.

Otherwise, if you're truly serious about flying yourself, go buy an old iphone, or an older android phone (a damaged screen is fine as long as the phone functions)

If you have an old android phone (surely you or your friends have ONE lying around in a drawer?), you can fly.

splats spent their own time setting it up before their chopper broke down! Was just a few steps away from getting their engine to start.

splats (the guy above that I helped, and most likely you have now asked for a fuel lock from..), set up their Samsung S5 with Lineage OS

          Samsung S5.

          That phone is from 2014

          2014

I have a Huawei and can't root my phone otherwise i would.

Are you telling me you haven't changed phones for 6-7 years!?

          Where there's a will, there's a way

There are many that appear to have the will to message others to ask them to fly for them, but they don't have the will to setup or get their own chopper

If splats can fly with a Samsung S5, there's no way in hell people can't find an old phone or buy an old phone to set it up themselves.

          • @cwongtech: Nope, my old S7 edge has a cracked screen. I don't think it's up to you to decide or comment about individual circumstances without knowing the facts. If someone on this forum decides to help and has time to lock in for a few people that's great.

            • +1

              @Duece1995:

Nope, my old S7 edge has a cracked screen.

              Great!

Is it operational? Can you press anything on the screen?

Because I've seen Lineage OS on an S7 working successfully

As long as you can enable developer options and OEM debugging (you need to be able to press the "Yes" to authorise your connected computer, you can use scrcpy (github) to control the phone without touching the screen (afterward you have authorised the connected computer at least, that's why you need the screen to at least be partially operational, cracked doesn't matter).

I don't think it's up to you to decide or comment about individual circumstances without knowing the facts.

Well considering that I've just spent most of my time locking in fuel for others, I'm not going to have time to ask for everyone's story/reason why they can't set up their own chopper, will I?

          • @cwongtech: Nope, my old S7 edge has a cracked screen. I don't think it's up to you to decide or comment about individual circumstances without knowing the facts. If someone on this forum decides to help and has time to lock in for a few people that's great.

            • @Duece1995:

Nope, my old S7 edge has a cracked screen.

So, is it operational or not (will it register touch)?

Both my remotely accessed helicopter phones have cracked screens

              • @cwongtech: No. Quoted $300 to repair.

                • @Duece1995: Find an old Samsung A20, (you only need LineageOS if the phone never got the official ROM to Android 10 so in this case you don't need to) and can root it, I've personally carried out the process for one and turned it into 7/11 chopper

                  It's RRP is $200.

Got one off FB marketplace for $100 the other day, fully functioning

Otherwise, any working Samsung S5 or newer model should do (as demonstrated by splats' S5)
You just need a phone with a working screen and wifi connection :)

          • +1

@cwongtech: I agree. I found out about this hobby, spent a good 2-3 hours figuring out how to do it.

Obviously, I ran into a fair few problems. I researched them myself, tried new software etc. Ended up flying to Orange for the first time the other day and it was a success!

Saved me $12 so far and considering that is 14% of my weekly income I am happy!'

When there is will, there is always a way.

        • It’s anecdotes, there are no official stats.

If you can’t root your phone, you can buy one that’s rootable or a compatible iPhone from the savings from fuel locks.

Of course there’s no obligation, but some who can fly copters like to give back.

Before asking for a fuel lock was banned here, you’d find the majority of new posts/replies on this thread were for asking for a fuel lock. Most people also send PMs instead of asking on this thread which is not captured by the thread.

Point is, everyone here can do better and learn to fly. They just choose not to. As mentioned earlier, if they’ve saved $200 from fuel locks, put that towards a phone that can be used.

  • Need a Fuel Lock please, any generous copter pilots out there?

Spent about 5 hours trying to get my LG G4 up to 9.0 with LineageOS and flashing Open GApps, playing around with Magisk, MagiskHide, Magisk Prop Config, smali patcher..and to no avail it still fails the SafetyNet API - I know Magisk Canary is around the corner which will fix the SafetyNet problems which should fix it up for most people with unlocked bootloaders here.

The 7/11 App won't even lock it in without any Magisk modules running with the exception of MagiskHide hiding 7/11's peering eyes from root detection.
Can someone here verify that the 7/11 app can be sideloaded and still locks in petrol?

There is a update soon for Magisk (it currently works in debug, public stable beta imminent) - hopefully that'll be the end of this.

It's been fun dabbling into the root / XDA dev scene again but for now I'll stick with my trusty stock Samsung Galaxy Note 9.

cwongtech - I've read through your post history and you seem like an absolute A+ chopper pilot. When you have a moment can I shoot you a PM detailing what I've done with my LG G4? Cheers mate

Install Magisk Module 'Universal SafetyNet Fix v1.1.1' - https://github.com/kdrag0n/safetynet-fix - download & move to internal storage, load module from storage - reboot phone
Install Magisk Module 'Hide Props Config' - reboot phone (you can search for this in the Modules section of the Magisk app)
Download/Sideload 'Termux' and open it, type 'su' followed by 'props' and follow the prompts. (1, f, pick your phone manufacturer, pick phone model) - for me, it was the LG G4 H812 model (not H815, but still works)
        Reboot
Follow instructions for smali patcher & GPS Joystick on OP
        Download / Sideload 7/11 App
Back to Magisk - enable MagiskHide - hide 7/11 FULLY - when you press the 7/11 app in MagiskHide there will be two checkboxes, check both (core & splitactivity)

Note: The Magisk SafetyNet Check in the app/manager will probably fail.
Use a 3rd party app instead such as this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.atominvent… to verify that your phone is passing the SafetyNet check.

Happy to help people if needed!

          Congratulations!

I had safetynet test API issues with the guy I helped before and saw I had the same on my pixel 2 chopper, it's not even a fail, it's just "can't check anything at this time"

          Good writeup!

Install Magisk Module 'Universal SafetyNet Fix v1.1.1' - https://github.com/kdrag0n/safetynet-fix - download & move to internal storage, load module from storage - reboot phone
Install Magisk Module 'Hide Props Config' - reboot phone (you can search for this in the Modules section of the Magisk app)

One of these should work, safetynet fix magisk module didn't work on my Xperia z5 (on lineage OS), but the hide props config and selecting the fingerprint did

SafetyNet fix worked on my pixel 2 though
I have a feeling the safetynet fix might work only for stock roms, but lineage OS ROMs need the hide props config method

For other people: TWRP is the recovery mode menu, it's not always needed (pixel 2 and Samsung a20 didn't but both Xperia z5 and z5c in my case does), it depends on your phone

            @cwongtech: Thanks pogichinoy & cwongtech - appreciate it! :D

Yeah for the life of me I thought I kept failing the SafetyNet check using the app until I tried a 3rd Party one and realized I was in actuality passing it the whole time. Alternatively another way to check if you're passing is if you don't have any mock GPS apps running and try to lock in petrol it will shoot out an e01 error.
Hmm interesting re: using 1/2 - I can't verify to test, but I can definitely confirm using both modules in tandem doesn't throw the check out of whack.

In addition to my post above, I forgot to mention, but installing Open GApps seemed like an essential chess piece in getting it working - not sure but in my first run without it it wasn't working, when I installed GApps this time around with lineageOS, it did. That, or logging into Play Store and not having a 'Device not certified' error prompt you when you go to 'Play Protect' is also a good sign.
Check your CPU architecture but most likely it will be ARM64 - pick your Android version - pick Pico / Nano if you want the bare minimum to get Play Store up and running (I picked Stock just to be on the safe side, it's a bunch of clutter but oh well! This phone serves no other purpose than to lock in petrol, so no loss to me.)

My tidiness is begging me to declutter the phone of the Google apps, but I am not going to touch anything that isn't broken from this point onwards. Just happy to be part of the Ozbargain pilots club now :D

The GApps suite you need is the minimum one that comes with Google Chrome
According to this page, only full, stock, super variants come with Chrome
LineageOS comes with AOSP browser, which doesn't work well with 7/11

Correct, it won't clash, but you should only need one of two to pass the SafetyNet Test
Mine didn't fix up the issue with my Xperia Z5s, but the Magisk Hide Props config did :D

              I suggest doing the following:
              1) Universal SafetyNet Fix
              - Check if it now passes

              2) If not, proceed to use Magisk Hide Props config with Termux/Terminal app and assign verified fingerprint file
              - Should pass now

Update: My Pixel 2 can't be fixed purely on by the Termux/Magisk Hide Props select fingerprint method..
Universal SafetyNet fix works though, according to the Magisk Hide Props github page, this also forces Basic attestation rather than Hardware attestation (mine was already Basic though..)

Anyhow, my Pixel 2 was fixed up by the safetynet fix

Might get a realme c3 and have a go at that one

  • Is there any way of setting up a chopper without a PC/Mac?
I have an iPhone & iPad but reading through the guides seem to require a computer..
I also have an old Android phone but have no idea how to ‘root’ the device..
I would prefer to diy as opposed to asking others to lock for me but I am also quite technologically challenged…
    Thanks for any advice

    • following this, exact same situation/challenge I am in :)

I have an iPhone & iPad but reading through the guides seem to require a computer..

Yes you need a computer to assist for iFakeLocation

I also have an old Android phone but have no idea how to ‘root’ the device..

      1) Unlock Bootloader, you may need ADB (Android Debug Bridge) or ODIN (for Samsung phones)
      2) Load an android ROM (if you have stock android images, great, if not, find LineageOS), you want one that's equivalent to Android 10
Check xda forums for android ROMs for your phone
      3) Install Gapps as necessary to ensure you have chrome browser available
      4) Once you have bootloader unlocked, and also either stock ROM or custom ROM loaded on your phone, use Magisk to patch your boot.img
      5) Go into recovery mode and use ADB/ODIN to load the patched.img file
      6) Get Smali patcher done (it's from Magisk's website, and it generates a Smali Module.zip on your comp you can use in Magisk Manager to load)
      7) Ensure both SafetyNet tests pass, if not.. look up various ways to ensure it does
      8) Install My 7-Eleven
      9) MagiskHide 7-eleven

If the above is too hard.. go find someone to configure your phone for you (airtasker maybe?)
Configuring a phone to become a chopper from scratch (every single phone model is different) takes a significant amount of time (4 hours in my experience)

      • without a PC/Mac

        "Root" does requrie a PC/Mac anyway/

        • "Root" does requrie a PC/Mac anyway/

          Initial set up only

      • Thank you @cwongtech for that information..
It pretty much cemented the fact that the Android method was going to be near impossible to me without days of googling and YouTubing…
I ended up getting an abandoned 10 year old Windows 7 laptop off a friend and set up ifakelocation on that.. (this method even took me half a day to figure out but I got there in the end!)
At least I can start locking in fuel again… although it means I need to be at home and wait 10 minutes for the laptop to load 😅

    • Smali patcher on Android requires a PC to generate the file. I have seen people asking for patched file on the Smali Patcher thread. Not sure how that work.

So both iOS and Android device will require access to a computer.

In case anyone is actually interested in setting up their own 7/11 choppers rather than asking for vouchers ..

$75 for realme C3 is a prime candidate for 7/11 choppering

It has custom ROMs for it which means it's bootloader can definitely be unlocked, which means you can put in lineage OS or stock android (this is if it exists for android 10/11 for this phone)

Then just use magisk to patch boot.img, and use recovery mode (native or TWRP) to load patched_boot.img

    Voila.. rooted phone
Then +smali patcher to generate smali patcher module and load in magisk
Magisk hide props config (use terminal app to select appropriate fingerprint file) or +universal safetynet test fix to fix up CTS profile for safetynet
Install 7/11, and a mock location app

    And Bob's your auntie

People can buy the $75 phone as for sure they've been helped a handful of times here in fuel locks so they would have saved at least $75 worth from it.

    • Thank you for providing this info, much appreciated.

    • Just wondering what is earliest version of iphone supported?

Anyone who reads this message.. the Realme c3 in Australia is carrier locked - can't get it to unlock the bootloader as it comes up with "carrier customized phone" when you try to use the realme unlocking tool with it.

Skip this one lads, as before, find an old Samsung A20 or any no-carrier-locked version of an android phone that can easily have their bootloaders unlocked.
Furthermore, the optus online tool to unlock this phone doesn't even recognise the phone as a locked optus prepaid phone.

      • +1

RealMe c3 OPTUS is the one to avoid (OEM unlocking option available in developer options but you can't actually proceed to unlock bootloader)

Apparently there's an unlocked Realme C3 being sold in Jbhifi

        That one should be fine

The unlocking tool (from realme) is called "deeptest realme c3 apk"

Theoretical guide for non-carrier-locked Realme C3s (if you got it from Jbhifi, must be non-optus version)
        1) Enable developer settings
        2) Then OEM bootloader to be unlocked (in developer options)
        3) You need to run the deeptest apk to carry out the actual bootloader unlock
        4) Upgrade your realme c3's firmware officially first
        5) Download it also from the realme website, the latest version available, it'll be in .ozip format, extract using 7zip, then get boot.img
        6) Install magisk apk (you can install this even on non-rooted phones, it just has no modules available), move boot.img to the phone, then using the magisk app, patch that boot.img
        7) It'll be in your phone's download folder, you have a patched_boot.img file, copy it over to your computer
        8) Now that your bootloader's unlocked, get your realme c3 into recovery mode
        9) fastboot flash boot <patched_boot.img>

Your phone should now be rooted, then you do the 7/11 specific stuff.. smali patcher module.. universal safetynet fix and should be good
