they are not idiots. they just find a way to avoid the price match.

  • WD 4TB gold is a good price (same price before 20% off on static ice)
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/WD-4TB-Gold-Enterprise-3-5-7200-S…
Was looking for a 4TB pro but found this one, always thought the gold was worth more (it's weight)….

  • Sent buymobileau two messages to check whether local stock/BNIB since they had a lower than usual rating (Wanted to pick the MDR-1000X):

Asking if BNIB / parallel import:

    Hi,

Our stocks are mainly sourced from overseas markets. They are top quality and it comes with 12 months warranty. These are brand new and original.

    Sincerely,
    Mafe

    Asked if BNIB, never opened:

    Hi,

Brand new but we pre open the device for quality check. This is to make sure that we don't get any returns for dead on arrival units.

    Sincerely,
    Kristine

What a load of crap. Especially the last comment. Blatant lie.

EDIT: They have 91.2% feedback. Would not go near them.

      • +1

The eBay specification of brand new would mean what they are selling isn't brand new and buyer can dispute and win claim of good not as describe. Would be an annoy process to follow through.

    • +5

This is where the BS is.
I really dont think Sony need some no-name dodgy brothers ebay seller doing extra quality checks. Make me extremely suss that these are repacked returns.
Seals broken = not new It's bullshit

    • Got a similar reply from them.
Even their order processing is soo slow… I don't expect my order to be processed and shipped out any time soon :) lol

      • Just a quick fyi, ordered my Huawei M3 from them and arrived yesterday no issues.

        Mine was sent from HK.

Did a check, besides the seal broken , assuming it's for them installing international rom, everything else seems fine to me. Nothing suspicious with IMEI when I checked online as well.

  • Asus 1080ti Strix is like $1160 after discount - Paid $1399 on Saturday :(

    • Me too actually. Sad

    • If you can afford it, purchase it and then return the new one to the place you paid $1399 at?

      • They have the serial number of the gpu on the receipt - not sure if most places do that but one look to see if they match and they would refuse.

        • Can't you return the one you originally purchased?

        • @wolfshooter: Not without a 20 percent restocking fee which is about how much i save on the sale.

Next time one of these ebay deals comes can we split it into 2 separate topics? 1 deals, 2 complaints.

The complaints topic will be very long but I can skip it- yes, I know some stores raise their prices. The deals topic will be very short and save me some time.

    • Incredibly, OzBargain doesn't revolve around your personal needs.
When you have large numbers of companies routinely cranking up their prices, often massively over RRP to negate the advertised 20% "deal", complaints are perfectly valid.
This would an ACCC issue, if enough people were bothered to lodge it.
      Happened to Kogan: http://www.news.com.au/technology/australian-online-retailer…

      • +1

        This would an ACCC issue,

Why? It's ebay advertising the 20% off, not the stores.

        • +2

Its a partnered promotion JV, they are offering it together.
Clearly they don't just magically discover they are included in an Ebay promotion one morning - its organised together.
The culpability is the stores consciously raising their prices to soak up the majority of the benefit from the advertised 20% special. It would be up to the ACCC to figure out exactly how the responsibility is divided. Its a pretty clear case of pumping prices to match an advertised sale. Its bait advertising. Customers would see the big 20% off banners and reasonably expect it to mean "off our regular prices" not "off our special fake pumped prices that we only use for sales"

        • @King Tightarse:

they don't just magically discover they are included in an Ebay promotion one morning

That might explain why I never see my store listed… :S

        • @jv:
You need to have a store before it can be listed.

          Julia verona

        • Really? you want to argue that again. They would be aware of the price jacking and promote the deal so they cannot wash their hands of it.

  • Kogan was foreign - Australia is proud of its lack of consumer protection.

  • Hi,who can give me some idea about a office Desktop around 1300?

    No need of the monitor

May play some game but manly on my PS4 pro

    • Hi,who can give me some idea about a office Desktop around 1300?

Why don't you list what you need not some random dollar amount. More to the point a search of the retailers with a dollar range of $1250-1350 will do what you like.

Kingston [SUV400S37/120G] 120GB SSDNOW UV400 SATA-3 2.5-Inch for $61.51 delivered with coupon. Great price to speed up an old laptop or something so thought I'd share.

  • Any recommendations of a bargain in the convertible laptops like the Yoga ? Yoga alone seems to have so many different types as it is
    thanks in advance

  • I missed out on getting a 1TB SSD the last time (and all the other pricing errors, etc.) so I'm not going to pass this up this time. Unlike what everyone else is complaining about the SSDs I'm eyeing are reduced below other online retailers after discount despite the inflated price.
I have my eye on these three:
    * Crucial MX300 1TB | 3 year warranty - retailers: $399, listed at $455, now $364 after discount
    * Samsung 850 EVO 1TB | 5 year warranty - retailers: $450, listed as $535, now $428 after discount
    * WILDCARD SanDisk Ultra II 960GB | 3 year warranty - retailers: $399, listed as $210.95 no discount (is this a pricing error!?)

For context, I'm upgrading my ageing iMac 27" 2011 (12,2) 1TB HDD with an SSD. It's for general purpose emails, Photos storage and hopefully more design oriented work when upgraded (slow downs during Time Machine back ups and Dropbox syncs have discouraged me from doing any serious work). I have my heart set on the MX300 for decent price and performance.

    What do OzBargainers think?

      what seller is that?
why dont you post it as a deal?

      • he's referring to this…which was a price error

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/296253

        • Bah, damn it! I knew it was too good to be true. Why on earth is it still listed right now!? I guess I could try and buy it AND the MX300 and maybe benefit from a $20 Graysonline voucher?

    • can't find that sandisk anywhere on ebay…

This deal doesn't shoot the lights out but has it's uses. I'm building a PC and ordered about half the items from here and half from CPL.

Limited range of items, but for example the Ryzen processor I wanted was around 8% cheaper than MSY.

Can pay via Paypal without 2.7% surcharge. Free delivery not bad :)

  • Any good price on GoPro Hero5 Black? I did search, did not see any bargain.

  • Should I go the KG Electronics el cheapo Air Fryer for $71 or costco phillips for $239 after cashback ?

  • Price was jacked up before the discount
