I probably would be suspicious of the deal if it wasn't so heavily promoted by Ebay itself. The seller has iffy reviews but I can't see Ebay partnering up with him for a deal unless they were confident he could supply the headphones.
Paypal and CC protection should cover any issues
People here are putting way too much faith in eBay doing their due diligence before partnering up on deals.
I have a feeling eBay don't really care because they can rely on Paypal and other protections that will preserve their reputation.

What's so special about these headphones? I don't really know much about them but isn't BOSE supposed to be some overrated audio brand for home theatre? Are their headphones the same? Just good for noise cancellation?
the legit ones have very decent noise cancellation but only ok audio quality, which is surpassed by others in the same price range
so get them for NC and having a use for eneloops
I believe their home theatre range is generally considered over rated by audiophiles because they are over priced for what they offer. You can gennerelaly get a superior sounding set for half the price. The headphones in question are popular because of the noise cancelling they provide, people like them for planes, trains, work. I haven't used them personally but from what I've read they have decent sound, more for noise cancelling I believe.

Headphone quality, they are average. But quite good for noise cancellation. Also very comfortable

Now the great QC35 question… Will u update firmware?Thanks! I've just checked via the Bose app and it says I'm on firmware 1.0.6 (manufacture date Feb 2017). Is there an issue with upgrading?
Do not upgrade the firmware, people have reported ANC issues after upgrading and there's no way to reverse it

Apparently they launched a new update yesterday (1.3.2) which fixes the issue and allows you to control the ANC but I would still wait a few days for reports before upgrading.
@lyl: Thanks lyl! I don't think the app even gave me a choice. It just said… "We're downloading an update. Would you like us to notify you when we're ready to install?" I just responded yes, then a counter said 23 minutes to go. So now I've just deleted the app (surely it can't continue to download/install without it?).

Hey, I was reading about this issue and apparentally you can downgrade back to older versions? Even Bose gave step by step instructions.

I just updated and am having a much better experience on 1.3.2, noticeably better NC. Don't download through the app, use a USB connection and download it here for a much faster experience.
I'd wait a few days for all the reports, but from 1.2.9 to 1.3.2 it's a noticeable difference. But I think it'll be worth it overall, seems like bose have done something good for the first time in a while in the update dept.
@tightarse: yeah, I didn't spend too much time on the original firmware but the ANC on new firmware was working great
@impoze: OK, bit the bullet and upgraded to 1.3.2. Initially happy, but after a few songs noticed the base seemed somewhat lower than 1.0.6, so rolled back just now and there's definitely a difference in sound quality, especially at the lower end. Will stick with 1.0.6 for now. Also, this in the Bose forums…

FYI, tagging someone doesn't send them a notification. The 'tagging' feature is only to show who the reply is intended for when someone has replied to someone else's reply (third 'indent' of comments onwards where comments no longer indent further to show replies).
