    • It will normally churn across in a few hours after we process your order.

      • from signup to getting the order processed, how long would that take?
and i assume there is no downtime?

        • There will be a short downtime of normally 30 minutes to an hour or so as they cut the service across.

        • @telecube:

Can you please answer this question:

from signup to getting the order processed, how long would that take?

I am going away on Thursday, so I'd like to get it all done before then

        • +1

@OzFrugie: From signup to a fully transferred and running FTTB connection will normally be within 24 hours, often 8 to 12 hours, during week days. we are currently processing orders 24 hours during the week.

        • @telecube: How long does it take if you're on FTTB?

        • @telecube:

Ok rep, I just signed up!
btw, how do I setup auto payment using Paypal (is it possible)? I can only see credit card option..

Hey OP you should probably tag this as the "Internet" category:

    • Thanks. Scroll menu accidentally went down a notch.

Wow a lot of people moving over from ABB.

    • +3

I'm definitely going to be one of them. I love ABB and wish them well (have referred lots of people to them) but this offer is too good to resist.

  • Noob question please. My current home network consists of an ADSL modem and a ubiquity wireless router. When I move to Telecube, do I need to buy a NBN modem?

    • Will your NBN service be FTTN?

      • NBN availability indicated HFC

        • NBN will supply an NTD. You can continue to use the Ubiqiti router.

  • how long will this offer last,I am just finished with ABB and will be able to connect in 30 days due to ABBs 30 days cancellation policy

    • +1

the $69 setup and $69/month offer will run through Feb too, the setup refund offer ends at midnight on the 31st though.

  • Hi Telecube,

I joined on the Whirlpool plan a week or so ago and didn't hear about the $69 credit. Can I still get it?

    Dan

    • Sorry Dan, the setup refund credit offer is only available for new services added 29th to 31st Jan. It wasn't available last week.

  • Is there a site that lists all of these cheaper 100mbps plans?
Also, how does one find out about what telco (Telstra, Optus, etc) these NBN companies use?

  • I got a message from Telstra saying I will be provisioned for an NBN service soon.. I know the NBN is getting bad press left right and centre but on 20mb service that I'm lucky to get a solid 1.2mbs download, NBN at peak congestion at worst will be be ten times better than what i have currently … adsl 1 bottom of a multi rim network constant peak dropouts and because it is offnet $120pm for the pleasure… will need to monitor traffic and see what my usage is per month.. no stats with optus as I am on a special team being offnet and have none of the normal optus perks and myaccount is not available for my service… this sounds interesting.

  • How long does fttn churn usually take? I signed up last night at 9pm and instantly lost my ABB connection, but I am still without internet. I was expecting to be connected by now. Thanks

    • Bump your email to support.

      • Okay I just sent them a email. Thanks.

        • I was told 24hrs although it's been a bit longer and still haven't heard anything. I suspect they're a bit busy with all the requests.

  • Am I to correctly assume that this deal would not be available to those in the area formerly covered by the South Brisbane Exchange? If so, do you have any other offers for that area?

  • +1

Just signed up and sent email.

+1 for accepting PayPal, makes things super easy

*got an email reply within 1 minute saying they're onto it, great start

    • Update: using Telecube nbn internet right now, woke up to an email this morning saying everything was set up and ready to go 👍 it's going good

  • @sween64 I'm now with TPG NBN and should I choose "transfer" or "new service" when placing my order? I reckon is 'transfer' Can Op confirm this? Thanks.

    • Transfer unless you are using FTTP

I Cancelled my ABB HFC in the morning around 10AM
Signed up for the Telecube 100/40 deal
The service was provisioned by NBN by 3PM

Everything changed and swapped over in a day :)

  • +1

Signed up to move by FTTN from ABB
    Credit email already responded to

Hopefully the switch over is smooth :)

    • +1

      well… smooth change over here

Put in the sign up around 3:30, credit email confirmation not long after
      Internet died here around 5pm,
Changed modem details and had a WAN IP around 5:30pm but internet connectivity blocked (redirect page indicating not authorised yet),
      Back online around 6:30pm

Also, zero issue cancelling ABB either

Also, speeds the same as ABB so far (but im line limited by FTTN to ~50Mbit)

      So..all good so far here

  • +2

Not a good start.. Signed up 3 hours ago. Got email from support saying order is confirmed.
An hour later my ABB connection was dead.

Login to my modem (sagemcomm 4315 from belong) and I can see the sync speed, but when I go to Internet Connection section, it says "There is no ppp connection".

Called Telecube support numerous times but couldn't go through. After a while, it forced u to leave a message which I did but haven't been called back 1.5 hrs later. Impacting my ability to work from home unfortunately..

Rep above said the downtime will be quick, around 30 mins to 1 hour, but doesn't look to be the case..

Dont know where to look for help now.. Rep??

    • +1

I'm in the same boat. Mine has been down since 9pm last night. Support said it may even take 1 to 2 days.

      • That's outrageous! Esp considering rep above said 30 mins to 1 hr…

    • +2

Have you changed these settings in your modem?

      Protocol: PPPoE
VLAN ID: Disabled/None unless advised otherwise by Telecube staff
      MTU: 1492
PPPOE Login with username and password provided when you ordered the service (and as found in your account portal in "NBN services" section)

Edit* Also you're meant to email support for a quick response. That's one of the ways they keep costs down.

      • Thanks for the tips.
I cannot put any internet config yet as I believe I don't have active internet connection although I get sync speeds. It throws "There is no ppp connection" message.

I just emailed support. Hopefully they work late and reply soon.. No internet no fun…

        • +1

we're working through tonight so someone will follow up with you shortly

if you have churned from another provider it might be worth factory resetting your router in case there are any configs carried over that are causing issues

        • @telecube:

I already did factory reset the sagemcom modem.

        • @OzFrugie:
I'm in the same boat. I signed up before this new deal, can't get the setup fee refunded and haven't had internet since.
Also are you FTTB/FTTN? If your 4315 is the same as mine you'll need to bridge it as the firmware (at least on the one I have) prevents PPPoE.

        • @gnarkill:

          I am on FTTB.

Before I bridge it, don't I need to get internet connection working first?
It's currently not working (though I can sync speeds) because I don't know where to put the username / password for the PPPoE to work (I think).

Belong NBN and ABB NBN are IPoE, while Telecube PPPoE AFAIK

        • @OzFrugie: yep you need to enter pppoe details, I would recommend factory reset the modem and start from scratch and most modems will give you a choice of pppoe and you should be able to follow the prompts from there

        • @telecube:

I did manage to get it out of bridge mode and now able to put ppp username and pwd but internet is still not working..

Is there anyone get sagemcom 4315 working with Telecube??

        • +1

@OzFrugie: head over to the whirlpool forum and ask the question please, i'm not familiar with the modem

          https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2618758&…

    • +1

      Yeah, the same :(
Signed up at 9am, lost ABB at 3pm, pppoe with new details works as expected but I get “There was a problem authenticating your Service” in my browser. Support is saying that I need to wait, did not expect to stay without internet for the night.

      • Also post in the whirlpool thread.

  • Set up account then clicked second link button "submit special rate code" and it doesn't go anywhere :/

    • +2

Right. It just adds the special coupon to your account. Add a new service and pick either of the XXXL plans.

  • Guessing Netflix is not unmetered or is it?

    • +1

      All peak data is metered.

      • +1

Thanks. Will try Telecube in parallel with Skymesh (FTTP). Currently 50/20 500GB all-time data. Unmetered Netflix though. Very happy with Sky get full speed any time of the day, zero issues and a static public IP all for 70 bucks. Lets see how Telecube fairs vs Sky. The winner will stay ;)

  • I paid for my initial $138 payment through PayPal, do you guys setup it up so it deducts monthly payments automatically? Or do I have to manually pay each month?

    • If paying by Paypal you'll need to pay manually

    • You can use a credit card for auto payments

      • Including Amex?

        • +4

          Yep!! No fees applied.

  • Do I need to inform ABB to cancel the service (FTTN), or does this happen automatically when Telecube takes over?

    • +1

Should happen automatically but once Telecube is connected contact AAB to confirm.

  • +1

    Post sign-up comments:-

    1. Signed up yesterday, I'm on FTTP. Got email back within a few minutes saying it's in the system. 12:50pm
    2. Got email that service provisioned at 4:40pm. That's quick service, especially considering their surge in sign-ups.
    3. I could only test after 11pm, and I got 87+/28+. AussieBB slightly better, with average 92+/30+
    4. Pings were not… not great. Telecube should have Brisbane, I'm north of Bris, but somehow got better ping to Sydney? AussieBB ping to Bris around 35ms, Telecube 47ms.
5.Did a speedtest.net to London vodafone… AussieBB: 77 down(forgot up), ~310ms ping. Telecube: ~44 down, ~380ms ping. Someone in thread mentioned "they use Vocus for international transit which on my read has been a variable experience in terms of speed." Unsure what AussieBB use.

I will reply to my comment later tonight with peak hour testing.

    • Pings for Brisbane will be worse than ABB up until Telecube's Brisbane POP comes online which should be soon.

      • Cool. Any comment on the international speeds, what tech you use, etc?

        • I'm on HFC. International speeds aren't great but good. There's some speed test results in here. Also checkout the Whirlpool Telecube speeed test thread.

    • I expect the international speeds to improve for Qld subscribers too once we bring the Brisbane POP online

  • Overall easy experience transferring from ABB (FTTN):

Ordered 10am today. Got email at about 1pm today saying they'd placed the order with NBN. Lost sync about 15mins later, sync came back after about 10m, put in PPPOE details and everything worked.

Speeds great, but would expect them to be at this time of day.

I will say that the online account facilities are the worst I've ever seen / used of any ISP and this is going back 20 years but I guess you can't complain if it saves them money.

Am I right in thinking that if I sign up for the "Auto top up" feature so I don't have to manually pay the bill every month that I'd effectively be paying 1 additional month in advance for the privilege?

    • The service is prepaid so at the start of your new month the cost will be deducted from your account balance so you need to have funds available then, auto topup or manual payment both need to have funds available at the start of the new month.

      • So If I set auto topup to $69 and top up at $0 so at the start of the month I have $69 in there already then when you bill it will bring me down to $0 and then trigger an auto recharge, that recharge will then be used at the start of the next month, therefore prepaying 2 months in advance.

If I did manual I could just top up the day before you bill me and therefore only prepay for the coming month (like most ISPs).

        Is the above correct?

Sorry if it sounds like I'm trying to be difficult - I have learn't the hard way in the past to not store more money with a company than you absolutely need to, as we all know that once a company has your money it's not refundable and (especially a company goes broke) you can probably say goodbye to it.

        • +2

nope with a top up low balance of $0 the account will sit at $0 until the next month, the system will then draw down the balance to -$69 which will trigger the auto top up

        • @telecube:

          Thanks for the clarification, awesome.

    • Have you used the beta my account page?

  • Thanks OP. My connection has been provisioned today morning (FTTP) on UNI-D-3 port. Nice and easy. So far so good. Speed is satisfactory for the litte chance I had for testing.

I have a question about the DID number mentioned in the deal - does it mean I can add a new DID all for 69 bucks?

    • Free phone number with PAYG calls.

  • Migrated from ABB.. looks like Telecube is a touch slower..
    ABB usually can get around 78 Mbps/35 Mbps/8 ms, Telecube ~74 Mbps/34 Mbps/10 ms

    Deal has been updated:

I've extended the main offer until 28th Feb and also reduced the setup fee to $49

Thanks to all the new and existing customers for trusting us to provide your internet service, we've had a few issues and made a few mistakes but we're growing up fast now. I appreciate your support.

    https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2675951&…

    • +1

Only the main offer, the end of month offer which was the setup fee credit is ended.

We have reduced the setup fee though.

    • I've reported the on going to be updated.

  • +1

    Signed up around 4:30PM yesterday.
Received email from Telecube 5 minutes later requesting to cancel existing HFC internet service.
Sent an email to Support and also replied to the New Order email requesting for setup credit.
Quickly received a reply from New Order department requesting to cancel existing service first.
Called ABB to cancel service and replied to confirm service cancelled.
Internet was disconnected from around 5:30pm.
There is no update since then. So far not so good.
I send a follow up to New Order department.

    • Did you receive an update yesterday?

      • I received email NBN service has been ordered yesterday around 6pm.
A bit more than 24 hours after placing order / disconnecting old internet.
Received an update this morning at 9AM saying NBN service has been provisioned and it is PPPOE service with username and password provided at signup time.
Coming from ABB I did not have to do any configuration to get internet through NBN modem so I replied back asking for instruction.
I did a bit of google search on my mobile. No instruction from Telecube available on internet. Found some guy sharing their HFC PPPOE setting with a different provider on Whirlpool so I tried that and internet worked now.
There is no reply from Telecube for my configuration instruction request.
I work in IT so have some experiences with configuring modem and network.
For the mass out there, I would assume they will have trouble with getting their internet working.
All up 40 hours with no internet for the HFC transfer.

Quick speed test in the last few hours:
International download speed to LA is about 2.1MB/s which is the same as on ABB 25mbps.
Local AU speed upgrade may benefit in the future but right now it does not make a difference to me.
Hopefully speed does not drop in the evening.
On ABB I had 2-3 dropouts a month. Don't know if it is NBNCo problem or ABB. I will see if it is more stable with Telecube.
My old TPG ADSL2 internet has less drop out than NBN.
TPG ADSL2 speed is not bad at least 1.5MB/s on international bandwidth only limited by ADSL2 line max speed.

        • So less than 48hrs to change over (good for HFC) and you're still negging the deal. Wow. I'm sorry you don't think TC could've done better.

PPPOE is pretty straightforward to set up. I suppose it depends on your router interface.

        • @sween64: i negged the deal yesterday. So you say be prepared for 48 hours with no internet when transferring nbn hfc service? If i know the 48 hours time frame before hand, i would not neg this deal and would be happy to the moon. It does not matter much what i think, the mass of people in Australia will be the one that TC want to convince they provide good deal/service. My review is constructive feedback for TC. If TC think their order process, support, and internet service is good for everyone else then it is my problem.

        • @kctt: Thanks for your feedback

        • @kctt: The HFC transfer process is not good, I'm really sorry. We are making changes now to ensure a better experience.

  • I ended up signing from my old ISP 25/5 plan 500gb for $65, now have 100/40 (capped to 50/20, max for wireless network) and virtually unlimited DL for $69.
Speeds are up from old 25 plan but hardly great improvement

  • I tried to connect, set uo account but couldn't get past that. I gave up. If anyone from Telecube can help me on FTTP still, let me know. If not no probs.

    • You create an account. Then you click the link to apply the special pricing. After that you add a new service. It's not very intuitive unfortunately.

  • Has anyone received their credit back that is visible in their account after emailing TC support

    • +1

We will run the end of month billing overnight on Sunday and the system credits that have been added will be applied to the customer accounts.

      • brilliant, thanks for the update
        +1 for customer service

  • @telecube, All,

I've a modem/router for ADSL2+ connection provided by TPG. I'm moving to a brand new house with NBN FTTP and have signed up with you already. What type of modem/router do I need to buy for NBN FTTP internet? I don't need a home phone just internet is fine. If you can suggest some modem/router (whatever I need) models in the market to choose from that would be great.

    Thanks!

    • What's the make and model of the router you have now, if it can run a WAN port with PPPoE on one of the ethernet port you may be able to use that.

      • Huawei HG532d - is it compatible?

        • According to this it has PPPoE capabilities.

But log in to the router and make sure the credentials can be amended.

        • @sween64:

When you say credentials can be amended, do you mean I 'm able to update PPPoE details? Will I get new details from Telecube that needs to be updated in the router settings?

And is there any difference between this basic router and other advanced routers in the market in terms of internet speed?

        • Also check that one of the ethernet ports can be configured as a WAN port and the PPPOE credentials can be applied there

        • @telecube:

Will your team send instructions on how to setup router after activation?

        • @vjoz: Not normally no, there's generally a huge amount of data available online if you do a search, if you do need assistance please email your questions to support.
