I have bought a few watches from them before and they were so quick to send your goods. So easy to deal with.

This is why every star buy post i upvote because they deserve it.

Positive buying experiences here as well.

Good prices but too big for my wrist. Any recommendations for smaller wrists WatchNerd?

    • +1

  • A great selection of watches on offer. 10/10 for the code names too!

  • +2

Thank you Watchnerd. Bought the Seiko Turtle for my father’s bday present. Been waiting for a good watch deal.

Hope I don’t end up liking it too much that I end up keeping it. 😅

    • +1

      Buy two. Problem solved.

  • How easy is it to swap the cheap citizen watches strap to NATO?

    • Easy as, plenty of youtube videos showing how to do it.

  • @watchnerd, any help on a SS black face automatic with no chrono or markings? I want it for a friend's 40th, up to $1000. Cheers.

  • Very nice, I am interested in https://www.starbuy.com.au/citizen-eco-drive-mens-200m-diver… which is the Stainless steel version of the diver, is there any discount code we can get for this? Thanks

    • @aznsniper Lowest possible price on this model I'm afraid. No room to go any lower. If you like the look, this one is really good offer https://www.starbuy.com.au/citizen-eco-drive-mens-200m-diver…

    • +1

dohh got mine form hongkong about 3 weeks ago and thought $270 was cheap ….. this is even cheaper and australian warranty … all that beer that could have been bought with the savings :-(

  • OP, could you get a discount on this watch?

    Congrats on 300!

  • +2

I want deep discount of Grand Seiko [non quartz]

    • How deep would you take?

    • +1

Yeah I'm saving for my grand seiko (snowflake).

Doubt we'll ever see any significant discounts - such low volume, and hand made.

      • +1

Nice choice! I want to try it on myself one day. The craftsmanship seems out of this world.

  • +1

Heads up on the Citizen Eco-Drive Chrono CA4210-59E - it's a nice watch (although the first thing I did was swap out the mesh band for a nice Watchgecko black leather band) but it is a BIG unit.

  • +3

Wow, they have a dedicated web page for you! 😲😲😲

    EDIT

Oh, forgot to congrat you for the 300th post. 🥇🥇🥇

  • +1

Oh man!! I would have bought the Samurai right away if it were the blue one!! 😢😢😢😢

    • +1

      Same eyeing the blue.

      • +1

@WatchNerd Congrats on the 300th mate! is there anyway we can persuade StarBuy for the blue one? :D

    • +1

Same but with the Turtle. But I would have been annoyed having bought an SKX007 yesterday hahah

    • +1

Hi all. Seiko Japan have retired the Blue Samurai. The last Blue Samurai offer posted here was the last of the inventory that Seiko had in stock so we are unable to get anymore. The new Seiko release has been brought forward to July and they may possibly have some new Samurais in there. Same with the PADI models. They too will be retired soon and new models released in July.

      Thanks

      • dohhhh, got the samurai last time and was hoping for turtle in blue, any idea what the july colours will be for turtles and samurais ?

options would have been the generic editions or padi to get the blue.

  • +5

Congratulations on the 300 mate, I hope this partnership of WatchNerd and StarBuy yields many horological deals for the future. Even better - try and infiltrate them by becoming an employee and expand their range!

StarBuy/StarJewels have always had excellent service - full local warranty, quick shipping (I once bought a titanium eco drive for my dad friday night after COB, and it was delivered to regional Queensland the following Tuesday!). Also wanted to buy a citizen automatic they had on StarBuy while I was in New Zealand, but only their StarJewels site/store posted to NZ - emailed them and within an hour they listed it on StarJewels for me at the same price with included shipping to NZ!

I've always thought the only thing they lacked was range of watch brands - they do Citizen stuff very well, and in recent years a fair bit of Seiko and a little of some smaller brands - but I'd love to see them bring in some of the other brands at similar price point (Orient, Timex, Bulova, Invicta, maybe even Tissot?).

EDIT: If they had the Pepsi Samurai rather than the black for that price I'd be so keen!

    • +11

Thank you @Wilburre. WatchNerd is working for OzBargain and thats a good thing. His constant challenges for better prices keep pushing us to go and negotiate some good deals with the watch companies and he is not shy at all when we ask him for his opinion on some designs :)

Re the other watch brands, being deep discounters, most watch companies are not keen to work with us as that affects their B&M business. We have had some brands taken away due to complains from the stores and we understand their position. Just keeping a store open in Westfield with a staff of 5, is worth 500k annually so they cant compete on prices and need to sell at RRP to sustain their businesses. Swiss brands have a strict policy on website sales (we have tried Tissot quite a few times) and we dont work in the parallel or grey markets so we dont get that stock. Fashion brand watches are too finnicky are are made by a handful of manufacturers. We would never carry that stock as they dont make a sufficient enough quality product.

We are constantly on the lookout for new brands and would love to work with more but unfortunately we are limited in the range thus far.

      Thank you

      • +2

Excellent answer rep - here's hoping you can get some other manufacturers on board. I like buying quality watches, and I like an easy buying experience and a good price. You guys have come through for me on 4 watches now, soon to be 5. Keep supporting these guys OzB, as mentioned by others previously they deserve it.

      • hey man, i bought the watch on thursday, it said same day dispatch if bought before 2 pm but i still havent got any updates. how long do you think it might take?

        • Hi there. All balance orders from this promotion will be shipped by today or tomorrow at the latest.

          Thanks

    • +1

Invita is heavily done by Amazon already and they do cheap shipping to Australia …. citizen and Seiko Australian retailers can compete with amazon when they do promo pricing … just ordered the 8180 and that will be my 3rd watch from starbuy, cheaper than amazon every time.

Invictas get down to $80 inc shipping, got a titanium divers for $120 ….. with invicta its a race to the bottom against amazon, and I'm not even sure what the distributor in Australia for Invicta is like for stock or support, Seiko and citizen would be great I presume for stock and support and are recognizable brands that sell themselves.

  • Any deal on SRPB53K?

  • +1

Love the Samurai but it's too big.

    • Same - damn these skinny wrists, no good for anything except typing comments on Ozbargain.

  • +1

Damn no deal on the BM8180-03E. Been eyeing that for awhile now. I've got a small wrist so the BM8470-11E is just too big for me.

    • +1

I'm with you! The bm8180 seems like a fantastic and functional sports watch.

    • +6

Please try Promo Code WATCHNERD10 to see your special price. https://www.starbuy.com.au/citizen-mens-eco-drive-military-w…

      • +2

thks worked on the 8180 …killer, price …. needed a field watch for my 11 year old as in exams no smart watches analogue only and on school camp they discourage smart devices including smart watches …. imagine 60 kids needing to charge fitbits each night ……. so this will be a great watch for him and a good size for smaller wrist.

  • Damn that SRPB55K is nice.

  • +2

Wow, #300! That's amazing, and these are awesome watches for the price. Thanks WatchNerd :)

  • Any chance of a SRPC01J deal?

  • +1

I actually don't like any of those designs. But great post.

  • +2

Love your work mate. Some great deals here. As mentioned by another commenter, I'm holding out for a bm8180 discount to add to my collection soon :)

Edit: thanks to starbuy as well!

    • +2

use the watchnerd10 ….. 8180 comes to $129 inc delivery ….. cheaper than cheapest ebay with their 10% off.
      i bought one .

  • +1

@WatchNerd any deals on the Seiko Prospex SRPB49K
    appreciate the post.

    • @tighta55 Seiko Japan have retired the Blue Samurai. The last Blue Samurai offer posted here was the last of the inventory that Seiko had in stock so we are unable to get anymore. The new Seiko release has been brought forward to July and they may possibly have some new Samurais in there. Same with the PADI models. They too will be retired soon and new models released in July.

      Thanks

  • Any chance of the turtle in blue ?

    • i notice your site still lists the padi turtle in blue any chance of a deal …. it would make shelf space for your july stock.
also seems to still list the normal all blue turtle.

  • +1

Thanks mate. Finally got the ca 4210 eco drive. That is one beautiful watch.

  • Thanks watchnerd! Bought the Citizen Eco-Drive BM8470-03A!!

  • Does anybody know if the date function is automatic on the Citizen Eco-Drive Chrono CA4210-59E, my husband has 3 eco drives and only the very oldest one which he has had for 13 years seems to keep the correct date but unfortunately the battery on that watch has just given out.

    • Hi there. By automatic if you mean perpetual calendar, the CA4210-59E is not a perpetual calendar. The date will have to be changed manually for the end of months where required. Thanks

      • Meaning feb and months that end in 30 ?

        • +1

Yes. With a perpetual calendar feature on a watch. It will move the date accordingly.

For other watches without it. April for example will tick over to 31 when it should be may 1 after april 30.

        • @xoom:
Cheers. I can live with that.

        • @furiousgeorge: oh and it does leap years also. So it knows when feb has a 29th.

      • thanks for that.

  • Hey, reaaaally love the BM8470-11E, and I would purchase, but I'm worried it's too big for my wrists (tiny skinny things unfortunately). Anything similar but smaller?

  • +1

I was wondering why that Seiko is called samurai and found this interesting page.

  • +1

Couldn't say no to the orange monster. Thanks!

  • Thank you OP.
    Got a CA4210-59E.
    Cheers

  • That stainless steel bracelets Samurai is so sexy!! I bought a Baby Turtle last week. I can't buy another one. Flipping coin!! Buy or no buy.

    • +2

Make like nike and just do it.

    • if you have coin to flip you can afford it ….

  • +2

Thanks watchnerd. Bought my favorite SRPB55k. As every one else I also love the blue samurai. I love the photo on the starbuy website. Specially loved the cap. Finally congratulations on your 300th post.

  • Is the blue Promaster 44mm included or excluded crown?

  • +1

Thanks WATCHNERD for the deal. Bought the BM8470-11E for casual use. Starbuy buying process was smooth as well.

  • Any offer on the Pepsi Turtle please?

  • I've had the Citizen BM8470-11E but with green dial for years and it has never failed me. Still keeps time perfectly and I love the look of it.

  • Quick update re stock but we only have 4 of the BM8470-11E left in stock. https://www.starbuy.com.au/citizen-eco-drive-stainless-milit…

    Thanks

  • +2

Got the SRPB51K, thanks Star Jewels (my second watch from you guys) and WatchNerd.

    • Thank you. Great choice.

      • any deal on the padi turtle , or normal blue turtle ?

        • Having bought a Blue Samurai from your Ebay site yesterday I would love a deal on the Padi Turtle to buy today (though my wife probably wouldn't).

  • +1

Thanks again WatchNerd and Star Jewels - bought the Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster Black BN0150-10E for my friends birthday. Was tempted by the Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster Blue BN0191-80L, but the rubber strap and ISO certification on the Black will be more suitable for my friends use (outdoor survey work and dive). Was tempted by the Seiko's, but I don't think he's the kind of guy that wants the hassle of an automatic - the eco drive will be a good movement for him.

  • +2

    Stunning post OP.

    • +3

moving stock and no negs or "but its cheaper elsewhere" …. what more could you want

think Starbuy and Watchnerd have done well for his 300th post.

      • I couldn't vote earlier because I was offline for 47 hours.

  • +4

Awesome work bringing back the CA4210-59E deal WatchNerd, I seriously love mine, it's amazing for the price.

Really glad you're doing the behind the scenes work to do deals like this for us, thank you!

  • hmm padi turtle in the deal would make my weekend
ooh am I repeating myself ?

    • Hi there. No deal on the PADIs. We may get some models offered by Seiko possibly next month as the new releases are in July. Cant guarantee that obvioulsy but we take any and all all PADIs we can get a hold of.

      Thanks
