  • thank you! got it for $19 with my 15k points!

  • Thinking of getting 2 or even 3, flipping them and buying the Max.

    Say roughly $100ea minimum on Gumtree - $39 for the 3rd (10000 points + $39), nets about ~$260.

Nest hub Max for around $330. ~$70 out of pocket. Hmmm

    • Same, but i’ll wait for the max to be ~$260 again.

      Thanks OP.

      • Bought 3.

  • Ahhh still waiting for my 50k points to come through. My bank was debited the first DD on Dec 30, and online chat reckons the points will arrive by the end of next week. Wonder why I have to wait to much longer than some other people.

    • Ours took exactly 2 weeks from the first successful direct debit. So you might be seeing it today or tomorrow. Here's hoping! Good luck!

      • The points came through a day after the first new bill since signing up for DD. I paid it manually though so, no DD after all.

      • Thanks. It's been more than 2 weeks now and still no points.

And now it's sold out. Bummer…

Does anyone know if there is somewhere to view and track orders placed through Telstra rewards?

    • Not until it actually ships a week later. At which point you receive an order number that can be used to track it via the telstra order tracking page.

But to be honest, you'll probably get the order email the same day it's being delivered.

    • Telstra are slack with their tracking because most of the time you get it before it has a chance to register. Seems to be the only thing they can do quickly. I ordered minis and got them next day.

  • not able to process since 30 mins - keeps saying this

    Something went wrong
We're sorry, but we’re currently experiencing technical issues.
    Please try again later.

If you need further assistance, contact 24x7 Chat (link at the bottom of this page) or call us on 13 75 87.

    • I had this using my iPad, then I used a connection with my computer and it worked. Maybe just a glitch at the time, or maybe the ipad - try another device.

      • Mine did the same, but looking at my bank account and points balance both points and money to cover remainder have been deducted.

        So, here's hoping.

    • It might be issue with your browser.
I had same issue on my computer and finally successfully ordered on my mobile

    • I got this issue with Chrome browser (mobile & pc).
Finally, I used Edge browser to place an order successfully.

  • got 2, thanks OP!

Forgot all about the 50,000 points, as they were relatively useless… but for 2 of these it works great!

Something tells me the market for these on Ebay is about to crash…

  • I have the previous google home hub, can't work our the different between the older one and this one.

Got error ordering and they took my points, with no order, now waste time on live chat. gees

    • Same here, spoke with Chat and they advised since the points were taken the order was received successfully. They advised to just wait for the shipping email which should come through in the coming days. Fingers crossed…

      • Hopefully, they told me it would take over 7 business days to fix points and that they had plenty stock and assured me I would get it once fixed. Will see I guess

      • still no email with the order yet…

        • Same, no email yet.

          • @FamousSAS: still nothing.
cant find anyone who can actually assist either. all overseas . joke

            • @taoz: Checked my Telstra Plus account and noticed they credited my points back, lame.

              • @FamousSAS: Yea I have transcript of a certainty they would have stock and when it's fixed they would resolve.
Points back but no one doing anything to help and impossible to speak to anyone who can

  • Just got one, went through no worries, 15000 + $19

  • Some people prefer this of course as it’s free.

Personally, I used some of my 50000 points for the Google Nest Mini bundle (free for 15000points) and the Apple AirPods Pro for $11 monthly over two years plus 39000 points.

But if I get more points I may consider this one in future. Am actually surprised of the value of some of these Telstra offered products. Some are really worthwhile and some are just a rip off

Queue the flood of Google Home Nests on eBay/FB market/Gumtree lol

  • Urgh. never heard of telstra plus until now. been with telstra for ages. why is it even opt in when it's free, it's free right?

    • It's free

    • +3

Urgh. never heard of telstra plus until now.

Maybe read the emails they send you next time…

Thinking of one these for the kitchen to listen to the radio, can anyone comment on the sound quality?
I understand it won’t sound like the nightclub on a Friday night, but Im guessing it won’t sound like a cheap 90’s clock radio either?

    • +1

It’s good enough for that. The Max are better for playing music apparently (I only have the hub).

    • +1

I find the sound quality on the minis to be really good for voice, so if you're listening to talk radio it should be really good. I find it to be really clear. For music I actually use five minis in a group, which produces a decent enough sound throughout the house.

  • Possible to cancel and reapply DD to get the 50k points?

  • Did anyone receive 50k points who previously had DD set-up? I removed and reinstated DD and never got credited.
Gotta love Telstra, they constantly find new ways to disappoint their 'high valued' customers.

    • +8

they constantly find new ways to disappoint their 'high valued' customers.

      You were already on DD.

This was a promotion to get people onto DD…

      • +1

So why not reward customers who already had DD set up?

        • +4

Basically because that's not how incentives work. An incentive is there to motivate people to do something. That's why there's "bonuses" for new users. Just play the game and go to wherever the bonuses are at.

          • @F-22: I understand how incentives work, I also understand how they can have the reverse affect, which in this case it has.
How motivated would you feel if you were a Telstra customer spending over $300 in services per month for the past 10 years getting denied 50k points for setting up a direct debit many years ago whilst a new customer with an average spend of $30 per month qualifies for 50k points?

            • +2

@Alias2000: It all balances out. One day you will go to another company based on a sign up bonus, you reap the reward and then someones that's been there for years will complain as you are. That's just how businesses work, you win some, you lose some. As i said, if you really care just don't be loyal to anyone, i'm not.

              • +1

@F-22: Yep and next time you find out the person sitting next to you at the Cinema, football match, airline, paid less than you, what do you cry then.

Or you buy something on special and a day later it is cheaper?

Or you catch a train, it breaks down, and you are off loaded, and the next train pulls in, do you demand passengers on that one get taken off.

So you switch to Optus, Vodafone, TPG or whatever, and do they have a bonus for you and do they give bonuses to everyone the same?

Sounds very much like you feel entitled

            • +3

@Alias2000: If you've been a customer for 10 years you'd be pretty well desensitized to getting worse offers than new customers.

  • Thanks got 3.

  • Got errors after each time I tried, points are sill there and now I have 2x $19 charges on my CC, how annoying 😡
Can’t try anymore as it will take out more money, so will have to wait and see what happens tomorrow as Live Chat will take way too long tonight.

  • Is there anyway to redeem points that you have sitting there without an active service? I have 10k points that I want to get rid of.

  • Got two

  • Thanks. Was going to get the bigger one a few weeks ago but decided not to. For 20,000 points, this is a steel and I have 17,000 points left over for the next great deal. Getting it delivered to home but I don't work at home so not sure how that will go. It says you need to show id so I guess it won't be redirected to the post office. Hmmmm.

    • I just received two other items freighted by Telstra, addressed to me and requiring ID, handed to my sister with no ID. Too easy.

    • my nest minis were left on my doorstep…

      • +1

        But were they…..?

Just saying, this annoys me quite a bit if not your preferred option. Especially when it's items that need to be signed for, they should never be left.

By principle, my items sometimes go walkabout.

        • +1

I hate when sellers refuse to post to a PO Box, so I provide a street address. Then they leave a card and I have to go to the post office anyway.

  • Sad spent all my points on the Onyx 6 speakers and two google minis…..

  • All gone :(

    • "Temporarily"

      • +3

hopefully someone says when they are back in stock - offer is till 9 February

        • Goneee

        • Back in stock, but not discounted? :(

    • +2

What happens when everyone here is buying 3 at a time

    • What you expect, when everyone buying 3 at a time

  • +1

Remember the points do have an expiry date… *Points expire three years from the date you earned them. (At least that's a reasonable time period..)

  • Thanks, got one before it was out of stock. Waiting for the XBOX One controller to go sale too.

  • +1

    Looks expired now.

    • +1

Yep, no longer showing a reduced price of 20,000 points and no longer under hot offers.

  • Received my tracking email already with a link to Startrack for my 3 orders.

    • i received 1 tracking email as well but i ordered 3 items separately - i was expecting i would receive 2 more tracking emails but maybe they will send all 3 together?

      • +1

Yeah I just assumed all would be in the one shipment as I never received another email even though I ordered one after the other.

        • I just assumed all would be in the one shipment

          never assume anything with Telstra.

I received one tracking number and it has the order number.

          • @snvl: Likewise but that’s not to say they haven’t taken the first order # and applied it to those following orders for those ordering multiple items.

Not saying it’s a given but I’ve received no other communication re: my 2nd and 3rd orders.

            • @ElectrkJonesy777: For mine they've used my second order number, so could have merged them. If people are concerned just go on chat and get them to check the order.

              • @bxpressiv: I’m not concerned, was just curious if they allocated multiple orders to a single one.

          • @snvl: I received 3 separate orders and 3 separate tracking numbers

and all 3 were delivered this morning

    • as expected only one order arrived.

  • Dam, I’m too slow. It’s out of stock and also looks to be expired now.

    • +1

Kinda glad it's out of stock, I'm sitting on 19,740 points

  • Should be changed from out of stock to expired, even if they add stock it is 62000 points now

  • Anyone not receive tracking email yet? Still waiting myself. Only bought 1

    • +1

I haven't. Just received the confirmation email when placing the order.

      • +1

It took a week before I received a tracking email when I ordered the Google Nest minis with my points but they were delivered the next day from receiving the tracking email.

    • Just received the tracking email

  • Hmmm…one of my 3 has just been delivered but no word on the other 2 yet.

  • Out of interest, what were peoples order times.

I ordered about 4:20PM AEST and have received my two confirmation emails, but nothing further.

    • +1

      1412hrs, 1415hrs and 1420hrs.

    • 15:33 confirmation of order email arrived. No parcel or shipping info yet

      • Tracking email received

        • Funny, I jumped on the Telstra 24x7 chat and was told it's been processed (the other 2) and will arrive next week. Within a few minutes of ending the chat I got the tracking email.

    • Confirmation email 745pm qld

    • To follow up on this, I just got my tracking email.

  • Can anyone that had multiple orders but only recieved 1 tracking number confirm if all orders came in together?

    • Nope not for me, ordered 3 with one tracking number but only one arrived.
