    Free trial here, and worked as well. Fairly unlikely I'll use the device however it probably comes with a couple of batteries for the remote I may be able to reuse. ;-)

    I had foxtel ten years ago - still remember the desparate phone calls from them, pleading with me not to cancel, offering me cheaper and cheaper packages. I kept telling them I was cancelling partly because we hardly watched anything on it, and on top of that the house was being demolished, so they eventually gave up.

    Anybody know its performance with emulators or games? As it has a bluetooth remote it might be ok to sync up gaming controllers and have a cheap emu box.
    Mine arrived a few days ago btw just haven't turned it on yet.

      I can't comment. All I can say is this is supposedly a good deal more powerful than the first gen Amazon Fire TV stick I threw in the kiddo's room, and on that I've clocked Tony Hawk 2 and a couple other PS1 games with the included TV remote no problems at full speed. Dreamcast pushed it a bit though, but PS1 and earlier runs fine via Retro Arch on that. So at the very least, it should handle PS1 shit no problems. Dreamcast and higher though, no idea, sorry.

        PS1/n64 or earlier would be all I'm looking for, past that I have the physical consoles (I have physical consoles for earlier gens too but too hard to keep swapping and game price is getting too high)
        I guess retroarch and others would need to be sideloaded?
        Will try them soon and report back.

          Yeah, probably, I'm not sure what the store situation is like on the Foxtel box, but you can download the latest APKs directly from Retro Arch's website so you don't have to look far for that at least http://www.retroarch.com/?page=platforms

          You might get better performance on some consoles using different emulators, I only put Retro Arch on there bc of the very limited storage space, didn't want to waste a bunch of it on several different emus when RA could cover everything we'd use anyway.

    Great to see Foxtel still so confusing. Signed up to Foxtel Now trial …no issues. Ordered the free box, no issues.

    Login to Foxtel Now…no issues
    Click on Live TV and it sends me to Foxtel Go and my signin is invalid.

    What a load of rubbish.

    At least with binge, it makes some sense. Binge and Kayo are the only two services worth considering in this mess.

    Im shocked so many people still use Foxtel… Should be called "RepeatTel" with how repetitive it is , not to mention how out of sync series are… You'll see part 1, followed by part 2 12, 38, 1, 2, 12, 42, 16, 9, 1, 12, 12, 12, 1, 2, 12, 42, 33, 25…. guess you could use it to select Lotto numbers

    Honestly the box is pretty crap. I bought it off Kogan a year or so ago and it would disconnect from the internet, now no longer supports Kayo, had lots of issues screen mirroring. Could be updated since I got it but just be warned.

      Also it is a foxtel box so while it supports many features of chromecasts its home feature and such is always foxtel so can be annoying if you don't actually use foxtel as it will always default to the foxtel sign in when turned on or hit the home button.

    Hassles setting up my one month free foxtel now subscription offer (as i still have 2× left postpaid $15 accounts discounted too $5 from the last years ozbargain telstra deal under 12 months ago + $45 cashrewards) as kept saying unpaid payments owing, checked my account no such thing oweing, just had too wait a moment before I could successfully login too my foxtel go app, stayed logged in my foxtel now account through a web browser and clicked OPs link into same browser/account and offer was available too redeem, so was successful 🤑

    Wondering if I can do the same with my other Telstra postpaid account but with a new setup foxtel now account with another email I have, well this offer expires end of June or till no stock left of 12000 units

      It's pretty bad, disconnects from WiFi and has to be turned off and on to reconnect, screen mirroring issues, eventually wouldn't even support Kayo and was unable to install newer system updates due to outdated firmware. Mind you I got mine about a year ago so may be updated model but I would say they are trying to clear them out.

    Thanks op got one of these already and will use the new one in a spare room.

    I used mine originally with a subscription but got rid of Foxtel and use it for Netflix, Disney and other stuff now.

    Was great for Kayo as well but no longer supported on the Foxtel now box :(
