Hi folks, the Ryzen 5 5600G has presented itself as a neat option with comparable performance to the 5600X. Yes, single core performance is better on the 5600X and yes, the 5600G has integrated graphics that aren't required with a dedicated GPU. I found this video to be a pretty decent comparison (albeit with RTX 3060); TLDW version is games that run at 60+ FPS on 5600X will still run 60+ FPS on 5600G, and you're mostly looking at a few frames difference in GPU intensive games, which, considering the $200 saving in this particular build versus the 5600X equivalent, I think stacks up pretty nicely.

We looked at builds with the 5600G and no GPU various different ways, but being a new CPU the pricing just doesn't work for us to do a deal on it. Sorry!

      You should obviously defer to Luke but it looks like it would fit. One of the fans would be partially blocked although not excessively if it's a low profile PCB which many of them are.

      Ethernet is better for gaming where response time matters eg competitive FPS or sports.

    Think this is a fantastic deal, finally getting back to ~$2k 3070 systems, but find the explanation on the 5600G a little strange. Of course it'll perform similarly to the 5600X in GPU limited situations? The G's closest comparison seems to be the 3600, which is also fine pushing enough frames out to match up at 1440p+ with what we used to call mid-tier GPUs but are now $1k+ unobtainium.

    In addition, the video you linked to is heavily flawed. They don't even use a GPU as powerful as the one in this system for starters (it's off by about 30%), and he mentions that he doesn't have a 3600 to compare it to either. Then the gaming benchmarks are run at 1080p Ultra? That's a limited market right there, and certainly I wouldn't suggest people buy a 3070 to only run at 1080p. Hard not to assume this video is just cherry picking scenarios to make the 5600G look good.

    My best guess for using this CPU is that when cross-shopping, your customers are noting that an AMD CPU with a 5 at the front looks better than one with a 3, even if they've got similar performance, and you must be getting the 5600G at a fair discount compared to the X. What'd be so wrong about acknowledging that? Or am I way off?

      I couldn't find a 5600X vs 5600G + 3070 comparison video, nor a 3600 vs 5600G comparison (not saying there isn't one, I just didn't see one). I thought he explained it fairly well on balance given my intention was to compare to our recent 5600X 3070 deal. Nothing really more to it than that. I certainly take your point on 1080P vs higher res monitors, but there is also the consideration that a majority of PC gamers run 1080P monitors (saw a Scorptec post about that not long ago). 3070 is of course capable of far more.

        To me, it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to compare CPUs this way. I understand that a decent number of your customers might never upgrade any individual component, but in theory at least, a 5600X will match up to a future higher level GPU at 1440p+ without bottlenecking, while the 5600G will. And I still think the question of relative performance on a 3070 @ 1080p is far from settled.

        Anyway, it's a great system, AM4 should provide an upgrade path well beyond anything short of 12th Gen Intel, so don't want to sound like I'm disparaging your offer. I just think it's quite disingenuous to say there's not a functional difference between the 5600G and 5600X as proven by that video

      Other than aesthetics, is there another reason why you are going ITX?

      If you are editing 4K videos you would probably want an ATX build so that you can expand your drives etc easier, no?

        Purely aesthetics and convenience as I have a limited space on my workdesk. I already have a NAS where I store most of my files so expansion is not really required in my case.

            I might do a pcpp list if I have time in my shift.

            I think 3060 ti and 5600x is best bang for buck or very close for it.

            I'll be trying it in 2k and 4k resolutions personally depending on the game.

    Even with deals like this: PCs and next-gen consoles don't offer enough of a performance increase to justify the markup for a PC. Yes, some PC games look marginally prettier, but it's not the same as with last-gen consoles which were often limited to 30 fps. Will wait for the next generation of GPUs to roll around to even consider buying a PC in addition to my PS5 and XSX.

    need a new rig since my old i7 gtx 1070 can only handle 40-60 fps on low settings battlefield 2042.
    would this rig be enough to run battlefield 2042 120-150 fps to match the 144hz monitor or is the Ryzen 5 5600X RTX 3070 Ti Gaming PC: $2588 better?
